Way too big dealership. I felt lost among sales force and a "zillion" vehicles. Their lot's were locked on Sunday and my wife and I could not ride through their "40 acres" of cars to look at them. It is summer in SC and HOT. Wife wanted to look at more vehicles but after 15 minutes walking in the sun, she said let's leave. We had driven from out of town. A day wasted! What would cost to have one or two gates open form say 1:pm to 5:pm on Sunday. Possibly have one security person or, give a salesperson the opportunity to be present to make a sale or viable contact. There were about 10 people looking at vehicles the short time we were there. Just a thought.

We found an Enclave online we liked and contacted this dealer. We decided to go through with the trade after speaking to our salesperson and drove the 2.5 hours from home to reach them. I am so glad we did, they were definitely worth the drive! Everyone we dealt with was exceptional in every way. The process was quick and seamless. We had never traded a car as headache and hassle free as we did at this dealer. Absolutely painless experience. We hope to have the pleasure of doing business with them again in the future. Highly recommend. This is how car buying should be!! THANK YOU ALL, we love our new vehicle.

I contacted Herlong Ford about a Jeep they had for sale on 1/7. It is now 3 days later and nobody have bothered to contact me back. How in the world do you get sales if you do not contact potential customers back! Lousy customer service

Buyers Beware. We purchased a used Truck from Herlong Ford on 12/5/15ten days later we began having issues with the vehicle and had to take it to our mechanic. He found $4700 worth of repairs the vehicle needs. I have given the manager at Herlong Ford two weeks to let me know what he is going to do about selling me a vehicle that per my mechanic is in such bad shape it is not road worthy and should never have even been allowed out for a test drive. When we do finally manage to speak to someone (and no they do not return phone calls in a timely manner), they tell us they are still working on it. My question is working on what? They sold us a lemon. If you are looking for a used vehicle, I would definitely encourage you to think twice about using Herlong Ford. I feel it is unethical to sell a vehicle that is in such bad shape and we are regretting every day that we purchased it. Now we are looking at making our first payment on this vehicle and we cannot even drive it. Horrible vehicle and horrible customer service.

Went to look at a 2012 King Ranch. Experience was great until we began negotiating. Wes came off the price $300 and it was a certified pre-owned vehicle that only had one key. At first he tried to charge me for the extra key and owners' manual. Vehicle also had a rock chip in the windshield that was fairly large. Wes explained to me that I could have my insurance fix it if I bought it after admitting the rock chip happened while he was driving the vehicle earlier. Gave me a price before I went to lunch that was $700 below sticker. Wes called after I went to eat lunch to think about the price. He then quoted me a price that was $55 higher than when I was there an hour earlier (probably his cost for the key and owner's manual tacked on). I said thanks but no thanks, and he hung up promptly while I was still in mid-sentence. He called me back a few days later and offered the truck at the price I had requested with the keys, owner's manual, and fix the rock chip. I told him the opportunity had passed and we could have done this a few days earlier. In the middle of my sentence, he hung up again and I have never heard from him since. The vehicle I was considering was a 2012 King Ranch he was asking $36500 for with close to 50k miles. I've since found another exactly like it with 30k miles and an asking price of $33000. The bottom line price Wes offered was $35k. It was an absolutely terrible experience and i will never return to Herlong Ford again.

Very friendly sales dept. good price on a 2015 f250 crew cab 4wd lariat diesel. They did nothing at all to fix my problems or explain why not. The service Mgr. actually said (quote) There is no rhyme nor reason for my problem . Service Dept. very unprofessional and could not fix anything.do not buy from there unless you never plan on having service done

My husband and I had spent several weeks looking for the exact model of the 2015 Ford Escape that fit our needs. Herlong Ford had exactly what we wanted. We worked out our deal with Wes Herlong completely online. They also gave us $1000 more on our trade-in than we were offered in our area. Did I mention...there was no processing fees? This saved us $599!! We drove from Virginia Beach, VA all the way to South Carolina to get our new car. The service was outstanding. We were in and out the door in no time! Wow....they make buying a vehicle easy! I have never bought a car online sight unseen before so this was a first. I saw the vehicle on cars.com and after sending in a request for more information Scott quickly emailed me back so we could discuss the vehicle. After sending me the car fax report, we discussed the vehicle in depth and finalized a price (mostly over emails/texts). Once I was ready Scott had Josh, their Finance Manager, call me and complete the process within 10 minutes. We agreed on a delivery date/time and Scott had the truck delivered right to the parking lot at my office (an hour drive from their dealership). After a test drive and review of the truck I was pleased to find it just as Scott said it would be. I signed the papers and drove the truck home that night. It doesn't get much easier than that! Scott/Josh worked well together and delivered on a seamless car buying experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, and will use them again in the future. Thanks guys!

I drove over two hours each way to visit Herlong Ford, and it was worth every minute. This was easily the best car buying experience I've ever had. Scott, Andrew and Josh were all very professional and knowledgeable and treated me with the utmost respect. I've had a couple of bad experiences at car dealerships recently, but not here. The folks at Herlong Ford are setting the bar very high for how a dealership should operate. Communication is fantastic, there are no games, nothing is hidden or mysterious and you walk away knowing that you've been treated fairly. All this, and very competitive pricing as well! I went in looking for a used Taurus and Neil told me I could properly get a new one for about the same price with the incentives ford was offering. There wasn't any on the lot so he went to work looking for the car with the options I gave him that I wanted. He found one that was a hour drive away, went and got the car cleaned it up, also filled it up.this was all in one day! That's what a top notch dealership does when customers come first.The lady with the paperwork was very nice and efficient, the salesman that went over the car options with me was very knowledgable and said we could call him anytime if we had problems figuring anything out.

They didn't have the truck I wanted on their lot, but were able to get it the day after I told them what I wanted. I live about two hours from their location. There are many ford dealers close by, but Herlong made it worth the distance gap; both price wise and service wise. They asked for my drivers license for DMV purposes and I was so focused on my new toy that I left and went home without it. They sent it back to me via overnight mail. If you are in the market, I sincerely recommend Herlong.

Came across their website while shopping for a new truck. The pricing was listed on the web site with their discount and all applicable rebates. No hidden fees (document fees) with these guys. You pay the listed price plus applicable sales tax and tags. That's it. How much easier can it get? My communications with the dealer was great. They were helpful, courteous, and were not pushy in any way (not what you expect from car salesman). When I told the salesman I was coming to visit he went out of his way to have an additional truck at the dealership, that I had inquired about ( I am picky). My visit to the dealership was equally enjoyable. No pressure to buy, helpful and really went out of their way to give me a pleasurable buying experience. It was like buying a truck from a buddy you have known your entire life. Give these guys a chance if you are in the market, they deserve it. I bought my truck from them and will be back for my next vehicle purchase as well. Good people, good prices.

I was only able to make it in late on a Sat night. Greg was happily there to great me, answered all my questions, had all the paper work ready, and did not rush the process even though it was so late (830pm). I received a very fair price for my trade and the transaction ended up saving me over $1000 from what local dealers were willing to do. No hastle buying is something I hope more dealers start doing as new car buying is stressful in its own right.Being military I travel around a lot, but I know to call Scott in the future with my car needs. Our Limited Expedition EL is perfect for our large family!

Found a truck on Autotrader that looked like just what we wanted at a good price. Turned out to be a little more mileage than listed, but not a dealbreaker for us. Truck was indeed what we wanted and had a little extra such as a Camlocker toolbox. We arranged to travel from Savannah to look at the truck and everything was ready when we arrived. Andrew was excellent to work with and we closed the sale and arranged the financing and got a fair trade value for our vehicle. Couldn't be happier with the truck and the total experience.

In my experience car buying is a much longer process than expected so it can be exhausting. Fortunately, the staff at Herlong Ford was helpful and accommodating. We came in on a holiday weekend with our two young children and were greeted by friendly staff. We had a few options to choose from in the make and model we were interested in, even though it's not one of Ford's most popular models. The great part of our experience was that we were allowed to check out each of the cars and really drive & discuss them without the pressure of the salesperson with us for every moment. Additionally, they worked with us on the value of our trade-in and getting us the best financing. The facilities were small and didn't have a space for our two children to be contained; however, the couches were very comfortable and I was ready with a video player. I will say that I didn't expect them to have a bunch of bells and whistles because they are a small town dealer where customer satisfaction is more important. Overall, it was a good experience. We love our car and are glad we bought it from Herlong Ford.

Found a truck on line that seemed like a very decent deal. I discussed the possibility for the sale via email. As I passing question, I mentioned I had a Harley on Craigslist for sale as well and would they consider it. I considered it killing 2 birds with one stone. I got there saw a very nice low mile truck. Here was the deal I got. Below KBB/NADA wholesale for the Harley and within $2000 of the uppermost retail price on the truck with the advertised price. So basically, it was nearly the worst deal possible based on published prices. So I shot a whole day, put additional mileage on a bike I was trying to sell and another detail job on the bike. The injury became an insult when the salesman followed me out and told me if I sold the Harley soon, to call them to see if the truck was still there. Why? So they could charge me more?. I've been in sales (medical) for 30 years. Integrity is worth more than the commission you make. They don't get that at Herlong. Don't waste your time if you aren't from Edgefield.

I have bought many cars. This was my first experience at Herlong. I can truthfully say I will not be going anywhere else ever again! I don't like the car sales game. At this dealership the first deal is the right deal. They were fair and my purchasing experience was awesome! I was in and out within an hour with exactly what I wanted!!! I have told all the people I work with to go to Herlong. You will never go anywhere else again. I have on "excellent" for buying experience but the program keeps changing it to good. My experience was EXCELLENT!!! Mr. Riley was great! He knew on Friday what I wanted...Saturday I walked in and my car was at the front waiting on me! No games. Fair trades. Exceptional experience.

My husband was in contact with a salesman here named Greg for a week before we went there today planning on purchasing the vehicle they had discussed. A week ago my husband went there in person to look at the vehicle and was given a quote on our trade in. He kept in contact with the salesman through the week and set up a time for us to go today to get the car. He even received a call earlier this afternoon to see if he was still able to come by. He said yes and we drove the 40+ minutes to get to the dealership. Upon arriving my husband noticed that he didn't see the car anywhere. He went inside to find the salesman and when he did he was told "oh, we sold the car." When my husband became aggravated about this the salesman implied that my husband was lying and had never set up a time to come see them. This really upset my husband and the owner wound up coming over to ask what was wrong. While my husband explained the situation to the owner the salesman stood there staring at him with his arms crossed and once again said my husband was lying. The owner then took my husband outside and told him he understood why he was upset but then basically told him what was done was done and there was nothing he could do about it. He gave my husband $20 for the gas we wasted and then that was it. There was a weak apology but nothing said about the salesman being talked to or making sure this wouldn't happen again or even an apology for my husband being called a liar. We will not try to do business with this dealership again nor will we recommend them to anyone.

I have purchased many new automobiles but this was the best experience yet. I hate to play car games where you have to go back and forth about the price, trade-in value. Then they call you and you go back and forth some more. A friend recommended Herlong Ford and I found the car I wanted on their lot. I was pleased with the price they gave me and also felt the price for my trade-in was fair. I called Mr. Riley and told him I wanted the car and he had it ready sitting outside the front door when I got there. I had my own financing (which was pretty good), but they were able to get me better! After about 45 mins. I was on my way back home with the new car, all done. No stress at all. I plan to use their service department and hope its as good as their sales department. If it is I have found my new car home. Also, I have to say "I love my Flex". I did a lot of research and drove many different vehicles this time. When I drove the flex, there was no comparison.

Just purchased a 2014 F-150 and had the best car buying experience ever. After making initial contact via email, a salesperson contacted me and setup a time for me to stop by. He was never pushy nor did he keep calling. He answered all of my questions. He was able to get me a really good deal on both my trade-in and my new truck. I was in and out of the dealership within 2 hours and that included a 20 min test drive. Oh and about the test drive, when I arrived the salesman gave me the keys and said take as long as I needed. Still no pressure to buy. I am a new customer to Herlong and will definitely be a repeat one also!

Well where do I start. I bought a F-450 used . On the way home check engine light came on No problem I thought I'll just use the warranty they sold me. They told me bumper to bumper well that was a lie. Ben Herlong kept telling me it was covered " Wrong". Cost me $550.00 at D&D was not not covered . So I ask for the money back for the warranty . It went back to the lender. Even though I put down $11,500.00. Ben kept telling we want you to be happy. He's a liar too. He's not worried about me he got what he wanted from me "My Money ". No I would not recommend them to nobody.

We bought a certified new Mercury Milan about 9 Months ago. When we test drove the car the service advance light came on. We were told it was an easy fix and they would fix it for us, so we bought the car. We took it in and the said they recalibrated the senor. 1 week later it came on again. Then they said that they replaced the module. Still a week later same thing. Each time they worked on it they would keep the car 3-4 weeks. They never fixed the problem. Everytime we got the car back the car was extremely dity and the center console was popped out. They even left electrical covers off and I had to ask them to put everthing bsck together. There response was it just snaps back and then the technician would have to go get tools to put it back together. After asking for the service tickets so we could see about a lemon law we found out that they only created one for the whole time the car was there even after being asked not to. After 8 months they blamed it on the car alarm we had installed. We told them that could not be the issue because it happened before we even bought the car. So after they de-installed the alarm the light came on again and we deceided to cut our losses and trade it in.

I recently went to Herlong Ford where I purchased my car and the dealership was just fantastic. I had just recently moved to Lexington,KY and had been looking for another car in the area up here and the cars were expensive, had a lot of miles, and the customer service wasn't good. So after looking on the internet around my hometown area of Edgefield,SC I came across a nice 2005 Ford Five Hundred that was a reasonable price and had low miles and the car was in excellent shape. Upon arrival, I came in with the mind state of this just being like any other car dealer and was ready to play hard ball,but to I was sadly mistaken. I had talked to Greg prior to my drive down and set up a time to come talk to him. I arrived on the lot and as I entered the building, I was greeted politely. I felt comfortable at that point because their isn't anything like southern hospitality. Greg showed his extensive knowledge of the vehicle when I kept firing questions his way and he answered them with a smile. I told him that I am in the Marine Corps and I needed the car to be dependable to get me to and from places far away and he gave me his word on that. I test drove the car and looked over all the internal components and I was completely satisfied. He sat down with me,along with Mrs. Janet Cleveland, to walk me threw all the paperwork. I was very impressed with the service that was rendered to me. I even tell everybody in Kentucky and my fellow Marines about Herlong Ford.
