I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS, HOWEVER I HAD TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE EXCELLENT SERVICE MY WIFE AND I RECEIVED AT GENGRAS, 460 CONNECTICUT BLV. EAST HARTFORD, CT. CHUCK SIKES (SERVICE CONSULTANT) WAS RIGHT ON IT. HE GAVE US THE SERVICE WE EXPECTED WHEN SOMETHING WENT WRONG WITH OUR CAR. BECAUSE CHUCK GAVE US A LOANER WE WENT ON OUR VACATION AS PLANNED. WE GIVE HIM 5 STARS FOR HIS QUALITY SERVICE.

Although buying the car 2 years ago was a pleasant experience definitely not happy with the service department. Had to have my car towed in and they can't figure out what is wrong with it. Although I was called late the next afternoon to say the car was ready and that the malfunction light was off "right now". Did that mean when I picked it up the light would eventually come back on and I would have more problems? When I got there late morning the next day I was told they were going to take it for another test drive just to make sure everything was ok. Well this was a huge inconvenience for me and the person who drove me there since he took the morning off from work to drive me there. When it came back from the test drive was told it was still bucking. They were going to try something else and test it again. Came back again and still doing the same thing. After an hour of this go around they finally gave me a loan car. Why in the world would they call and tell me it was ready for pick-up! They have had it a week now. This doesn't say much about the mechanics that work there. I do have to say that the person I am dealing with over the phone is very pleasant and can't apologize enough. But that doesn't get the car fixed. If by chance they figure it out soon there may be hope for them yet. But for all the inconvenience and stress this whole mess has caused it shouldn't cost me anything for repairs or labor or at least be given a huge discount.

I DON'T USUALLY WRITE REVIEWS BUT I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE NEW SERVICE AND REPAIR FEATURE ON CARS.COM....GOT A BETTER PRICE ON LINE THAN AS A WALK-IN FOR MY REPAIR...VERY SATISFIED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND REPAIR PLUS THE FREE CAR WASH....EVERYONE I DEALT WITH AT GENGRAS WAS PLEASANT AND COURTEOUS ESPECIALLY THE SERVICE ADVISOR MIKE KEEMAN....THIS WAS NOT MY 1ST TIME AT THIS DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND HAVE NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE THERE TO DATE BUT I WAS ESPECIALLY HAPPY WITH THIS ONE

I visited the Gengras dealership today, August 15, 2014 to get an oil change in East Hartford, CT. I must say as always, James Lowe, Express Lane Advisor, is the "Man with the Master Plan!" Whenever I bring my truck in, he is always very personable, respectful and present. His staff is competent and mannerly. He makes me aware of specials and honors the specials that your dealership sends to me via email. Every time I go to the Express Service, he is ALWAYS there no matter if it is raining, snowing, sleeting, hailing or sunny. I say it is time to give this gentleman a holiday!!!! He has to be one of the hardest working Advisors you have. I was informed that my truck model has a recall and he has already ordered my part. Anyhoo, I believe your establishment is extremely fortunate to have such an employee working with you and we the customers continue to reap the benefits. See you again in 3,000 miles or sooner!!!!

I HAVE BOUGHT SEVERAL DIFFERENT CARS THROUGHOUT MY LIFE AND NEVER HAVE I HAD SUCH A GREAT EXPERIANCE! THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, THE FACILITY WAS CLEAN, AND MUCH MORE. IT'S SOMETHING YOU'D HAVE TO SEE AND EXPERIANCE FOR YOURSELF. IF YOU'RE BUYING EITHER A NEW OR USED CAR, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO.

I left my car off at 6:30 am expecting to have had it serviced and ready at 2:45. When I was dropped off to pick it up I found my car in the same place it was left that morning. When I walked into the garage something caught the corner of my eye, it was the envelope I dropped in the drop off box at 6:30. My car hadn't been worked on. I did not find the service manager helpful at all, in fact I found him accusatory, like it was my fault. The service rep who had to deal with my wrath could not have been more helpful. I certainly hope the type of service, displayed by the manager, does not happen to another person.

Beware When Buying Used Car

Bought a 2006 Honda Civic LX from Gengras in December 2012... internal inspection report indicated that front brake pads needed to be replaced, but was assured by Kamran Kafi that the pads still had 5,000-10,000 miles of life left depending on the driving style. However, awful screeching noises forced us to have the pads replaced only a week after the car was purchased, and inspection showed that the pads were unevenly worn and one side was down to 1mm (1.6mm is the serviceable limit). Brake pads for a 2006 Honda Civic LX cost about $20. Beware when you buy a used car from Gengras... they would rather make an extra $20 than to satisfy the customer and make sure that they are driving safe, reliable car.

Just bought a used 2004 jeep wrangler from ralph at Gengras jeep in east hartford. Must say i've never been happier with sales process. no pressure applied to buy and his patients with us test driving the jeep 3 times. ralph worked extermely hard to give us the best price. Honestly i can't wait to go back and buy another car from him. Wife finally got her dream jeep wrangler!!!! Gengras has a new cust for life :)
