Ease of coming in without an appointment. Personal friendly touch dealing with Mgr Dave Henderson over the years coming in to Gates Granger. I can trust his recommendations on what is needed to fix and was is not needed. Hopefully I can build this same repore with someone else since Dave is leaving company soon.

I went in to look at a used SUV. They are the only dealership that I know that looks for a commitment to purchase before a price is agreed upon. I expected to get rates, an actual vehicle sale price, and maybe an idea of what my monthly payment might be. Instead, all I got was "If this, if that, and tell me what we can do to earn your business." Never got those numbers, and ended up leaving in the vehicle I came in. Simply listening would have earned you my business.

My oil change Went pretty quickly. Salesman stood 3 feet from me for over 5 minutes and couldn't acknowledge me but made sure to acknowledge the gentleman next to me and made sure he was being taken care of .

I inquired on a vehicle and set an appointment to come look at it. Gates of Granger ended up selling the vehicle the day before my appointment to come look at it and they never gave me a call to let me know that it had sold. When I showed up at Gates they still did not inform me that it had sold. I was walking around the lot waiting for them to bring the vehicle around that I wanted to look at and after 10 minutes they brought a totally different vehicle around and asked me what I thought. I asked about the vehicle I came to me and that's when they told me that they had sold it the day before. They had my phone number and could have called me and told me that it had sold, but they just wanted to get me on the lot and didn't care for what I wanted.

I have been using Gates for my auto service for several years. I have purchased my last 2 cars from Gates. I started using the Granger service center as soon as it opened. I came in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. Dave H. is always so kid to recognize me. This time when I pulled in he said I thought you wanted to trade that Malibu in. (I had told him I wanted a 2015 Impala at my last oil change). I told him that my son had to be admitted to the hospital and ended up at Riley Hospital for Children, so a new car was not in my future right now. He was so kind to talk about a member of his family getting help at Riley and seemed genuinely concerned for my son. When my car was done, Dave H. and Mike had taken care of the cost of my oil change. I couldnt help but cry. How kind! There are still kind people out there and I hope you know that Dave and Mike are two of them! Im always greeted with kindness and treated well. I appreciate that they remember me and take care of my car. I cried all the way home, because of their act of kindness. Employees like that make me and other customers loyal to Gates! When I am able to purchase a new car, Ill be sure to return to Gates, because of people like that .Thank you!!

Everyone was responsive. I had a bad experience at another dealership which Gates of Granger was well aware of. They treated me fairly, politely and they didn't treat me a like an idiot. All of which I very much appreciated.

The youthful energy and spirit of the dealership employees made it lighthearted experience. That being said, the staff's knowledge and training seemed beyond their years. The people working with us are those who know the community and thus, no how to accommodate its patrons.

What a complete nightmare! I have heard of terrible experiences with salesmen, but never did I believe that it would be like this. Talked with a salesmen for a couple days, and had shopped and narrowed our search down to 3 cars we wanted to test drive. Let the salesmen know and set up a time to go down and drive the vehicles. We show up and the replacement salesmen ( because ours had an engagement come up........) first brought up a vehicle that was 5k higher than any of the cars I said I wanted to test drive. (upsale, I get it, I was a salesmen at a point in my life). I let him know that is not the car I scheduled to test drive, and would like to test drive the vehicle I actually picked (novel idea). He goes back and brings up a second vehicle that was not any of the three vehicles I selected. I let him know that isn't 1 of the 3 vehicles I am interested in, and please get me the vehicles I want to test drive please. He lets me know that they are at one of the other lots, and that he will take us over there and we can test drive it. Great! lets do that. We get in the first vehicle he brought up for us to "test drive" and begins to take us to the next lot (20 minutes away) As soon as we pull out of the parking lot the check engine light comes on and the car start shaking worse than Michael J Fox. We arrive at the next lot and he pulls up to a vehicle, once again not 1 of the 3 cars I want to test drive. He lets me know that the car is at the lot just down the road, he figured he would show me this car so that I would have options............... Getting quite annoyed at this point, since I was feeling like I was going to lose the dinner I haven't eaten yet, because the car we are being escorted in shakes worse than a turn of the century horse and buggy. We get to the lot and salesmen goes in, and comes back out and informs us that the top car on our list isn't available, someone just picked it up to give it a ride... (awesome, it is like someone would call ahead and set up a time, to make sure a vehicle is available at the scheduled time of the test drive...) At this point I am over all of this. I said well let us test drive ANY car. I wanted to just drive it back to our car so that we could leave. Of course he couldn't do that.... Off to the next lot! Finally, we get to the next lot and low and behold 1 of the 3 cars is there and available to drive!! Salesmen goes to store to get key and the door is locked to the store.. You have got to be kidding me I think. He makes a phone call, tracks down the guy, who is at another lot currently with the key. So we head over there to get the key to the car. We successfully get the key and ride back to the car, and salesmen goes to pull out the car, but it wouldn't start. Sigh... Makes another call and then informs us that we have to go back to that other lot AGAIN to get a key to the shop so he can get jump pack to get the car running. After 2 hours, we finally have 1 of the 3 cars on our scheduled test drive available for us. Salesmen says "would you like to take it around the block?" I said "No, but i would like to take it back to the [original] shop so that I can get my car to leave" He responds "Great, I will meet you there. I just have to drop this key off [back to the other lot]" Me "No, no you wont." Irony of it all is that I actually like the stupid car that I picked out. I dont know if I can actually follow through and purchase it off principle alone.

I have had my cars oil change at this facility the last four times of my oil change. I purchase with the oil change where i get my front end suspension and steering parts inspected and greased. My steering wheel was crooked and steered toward the right. I paid for an alignment. The car still pulled toward right. I called and took vehicle back in. They said they MISSED that idler arm was bad. I paid for and replaced. Had to take it back in for another alighnment. The service writer took it for a spin and came back and said i noticed you steering wheel still crooked. He said he couldnt tell me the issue hes not the mechanic. STILL did not fix issue. I then went in for my regular oil change. Again i paid for and had them check the front end suspension/steering. Not long after this i was driving about 20-25mph in town. My front ball joint broke and my vehicle slammed to the pavement. Thr fenders bent, wheel got jammed up in wheel well, and cant open my passenger door. It was a mess. So this is the same side the dealer looked at and said was fine. On top of that you are NOT supposed to do an alignment with bad ball joints. And they cetainly didnt say anything. If they do an alighnment it will go back out of alighnment once u start driving. I talked to general manager and basically he said it was my problem. Even though i had issues with that driving off and all the money spent to have the check front end everyoil change$$ General manager said he wasnt holding his mechanics accountable. And told me that i myself should of known they were bad. What is he talking about???? Im not certified!! Thats why i took it to them


Go somewhere else.

Basically the sales team made us sit there for 2 hours and still did not have a quote on our trade in vehicle. We went back the next day and still no qoute. We left and went to heart city Toyota the next day and had a trade in qoute within 15 min of being there and way higher than I would expect. Do not go to gates of granger! Owner needs to review how they do business especially the manager there. Harrison
