Great Place for Good Affordable Used Cars

My husband and I were looking for a good used car and we drove by and were very impress with their inventory. The vehicles are very clean. No pushy sales people. The buying process was very simple and hassle free. Their facilities are very clean. The bays are very neat and organized. There were a few issues with the vehicle and they were very quick to response. They were extremely helpful even though the vehicle had no warranty. They stand for their reputation. Highly recommend when looking for a good affordable vehicle.

Extremely happy!

My wife and I were looking for a Subaru Outback as our next family car. We looked at many cars from many dealers, but were drawn to the one we eventually bought at East Penn. There were far more pictures and information listed of the car that was actually informative, and the photos were clear and showed the car as it really was... more than double the photos other larger dealers had advertised. When we called about the car, we spoke to Matt. He was very helpful on the phone with all our questions and was eager to help and we decided to come down to look at the car. We took the hour ride to Pen Argyl, and when we got there we were immediately greeted, and they had just finished washing the car we were considering. We were shown inside and met Matt, who was enthusiastic and happily showed us the car and got the keys for a test drive. There was no pressure and a very relaxed atmosphere. After we drove the car for a bit we returned, agreed on a price and talked about financing. Matt went to great lengths and was very thorough to ensure our paperwork was correct and getting us the best deal. We are extremely happy with our service and our car - and would certainly recommend friends, family and anyone interested in a car here at this dealer! Thanks again.

Very Smooth and comfortable experience

I don't give perfect scores to anything but my wife! LOL! Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know that this place is a MUST to stop at if you are looking for a newer/used car. They have a great selection most times and they are GREAT to work with. The customer service is awesome. Helped me out every step of the way and didn't hesitate to answer any of my questions or point me in the right direction to help find the answer, I would definitely recommend this dealer... No pressure to buy, no overselling of products/warranties(which I asked about first before they offered it). I looed over the truck I bought for 45 minutes in their garage because it was raining out. They pulled it in and let me "have at it". No one was looking over my shoulder and the mechanics didn't hesitate to answer any questions. Thanks Guys!

We recently purchased a used SUV from East Penn and we were very happy with the entire experience. We worked with Ron, Matt and Bob and found everyone to be helpful, but not pushy. The vehicle we purchased is in excellent condition and was priced fairly. We also received more for our trade in than other local dealers offered. Very happy!

An outstanding used car buying experience

I was drawn to East Penn Auto because: * They had the car I was interested in at a good price. * They provided numerous pictures of the vehicle. * They were reasonably close to me. * All the favorable reviews by car buyers on Cars.com. Our buying experience was pretty much similar to all the other buyers who left positive feedback. When we walked on the lot, we were immediately greeted by the owner Bob who was out and about taking care of customers and interacting with the repair guys. Bob was personable, friendly, knowledgeable, cooperative, and did not try apply any pressure or steer us to or from any particular car. While chatting with his dad outside, we met his son Matt who was also out and about taking care of business, making sure all was in order and customers were taken care of. Matt was very much like his dad. We hopped in the Impreza we were looking at and took good test drive. After returning and checking out the car, inside and out, we agreed on a price and did the deal - which went smoothly and didn't take very long. I drove off in the vehicle I came to try, and the whole process only took a little over an hour. When I got home I noticed a smell and some smoke from under the hood, which turned out to be leaky front axle boots on both sides. I had my mechanic confirm the problem and then contacted Bob. Instead of having to take it back and lose more time from work, he allowed me to get it fixed locally and mailed me a check for an agreed amount to cover the parts/labor. I had my mechanic check out the entire vehicle while doing the axle boot repairs and there were no further surprises. He stated it was in 'very good overall shape'. I am very happy with this car, the price I paid, how they handled the post-purchase repairs and the entire buying experience. I would recommend East Penn Auto to anyone looking for a good used car at a fair price, and a smooth no-pressure buying experience.

A True Family Used Car Dealership!!

We had been looking for almost a year for another 96-99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Call us crazy for wanting a used car that old, but we just love that earlier model of the Jeep. Over the years we had never misssed a chance to check out East Penn's inventory. All of their vehicles always look so clean, road ready, and fairly priced. Finally, we narrowed our search to 3 or 4 Jeeps in the area, but the 99 Dark Green Jeep at East Penn really caught our eye. We looked it over on a Sunday popping the hood, and climbing underneath, and were amazed at how clean the entire vehicle was.....it looked brand new! The icing on the cake was when we finally got to meet Bob, and then his son Matt. What pleasant folks to do business with!! We felt like part of the East Penn family. From the very busy mechanics (who were always polite and pleasant) continuing through the entire process of the purchase. Matt and his dad, Bob were both just really nice people to do business with, We have bought many cars and trucks over the years, both new and used, but have never been treated as kindly as we were and continue to be by our East Penn family. We will recommend this company to any and everyone we know who is looking for a used car.

Highly Recommended - How buying a car should be...

After months of shopping I purchased a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Penn East Auto Sales. My first from them. None of the games and gimmicks I witnessed at so many other dealers. Bob and Matt (Father and Son) where great to deal with. I only buy used, refusing to pay the crazy cost of new. I will no doubt buy from them again. And considering Matt is now the third generation they are certain to be around many years. More than worth the 50 min drive from Scranton PA.

Being from the area, I was passing by one day and saw a beautiful white Audi A4 on the lot. I immediately pulled in to take a look. Matt came outside and noticed the car had grabbed my intention. He didn't hesitate at all to grab the key and take me for a ride. I mentioned nothing about purchasing the car, only that it was beautiful and I'd love to drive it. He obliged. After letting me take the longest, most scenic test drive EVER, we returned to the dealership and parted ways. I called him the next day and told him I loved the car and I wanted to buy it. He held the car for me, at no charge, for the next 24 hours until I was able to come up to do the paperwork. The sticker on the window was 1000 dollars more than the internet price and he didn't hesitate to knock the grand off!! I came back the next day to do the paperwork to find that all 4 tires had been replaced with new! It wasn't even part of the deal! The purchasing was seamless and they got me an unreal interest rate. I highly recommend buying a used car from these gentlemen. All you have to do is take a look at everyone else's review to realize how fantastic of a business they run!

No pressure...awesome selection

I have been looking for a car for a few months and finally found the one at East Penn. 2006 Monte Carlo SS. Car was exactly as described. Matt allowed me to throughly check the vehicle and his certified mechanics were able to take care of a small issue. Straight up service and polite staff. You won't be disappointed!

Great car buying experience!

Was looking for a 2006 nissan maxima for my son. Found one at east penn auto sales. Never heard of place before. Was a bit of a ride to get there but i figured i'd chance it. Was well worth the trip! Car was exactly as described and it was priced right. Matt was our salesman he was pleasant and helpful. After a couple of minutes we agreed on a price and sealed the deal with ease. I would definitely do business with them again.

not impressed! !!

I bought a car from East Penn and initially it went well. I had the keys in hand before the sale was final. When the sale was complete I tried starting my car with the keys they gave me only to find they were the wrong keys. The only right one was the spare key which didn't have the fob. With no fob my car Alam goes off everytime I unlock it which can be embarrassing. They said they would see what they could do to recover the original key but I didn't hear anything back from them. I couldn't get a copy made because it was a lazer cut so I went to the nearest dealership and they told me a new key with fob would cost 200 dollars!!! I called back to East Penn to see if there was anyway they could help and they told me it wasn't there policy to get involed once the sale is final. I found it very frustrating considering they made it look as though I had the keys before the sale was final. I suggest going to another dealership that cares more about its customers and business practices.

bad service

I purchased a Toyota sequoia from east penn auto sales and keep having issues with it. The first problem was warped rotors which should have been fixed before I bought it and when I left them know about it the owner said he would fix it but I still had to pay a fee. Now its the oxygen sensor going off meaning I have to fix this problem which I'm not sure which one it is and this is all in 3 months of purchase. Don't want to go back to them cause the owner had attitude over the first issue. Was so nice when he wanted to sell my the vehicle but now he doesn't seem to be very nice about the problems I now have. Not good at all. I would not send anyone there. He very nice when your there to buy but after you buy and have a problem he is no longer a nice guy.

Great Customer Service

Great place to buy a car. Before purchasing my used Honda CRV here, I never even heard of them or been to this town since I live 2 hours away. But after purchasing my CRV here, I would recommend them to anyone in the area. Mike was a very honest and straight forward salesman, which was great. After purchasing the CRV, I noticed that one of the door handles was somewhat loose, but still worked. Wasn;t a big deal. It didn't necessarily need to be replaced, but Mike decided to purchase the part and ship it to my house. This was after we signed the paperwork and the deal was finalized, but Mike chose to ship the part anyhow, which he did not have to do. Great Service!!! Thanks guys

I would highly recommend East Penn Auto sales for anyone looking to get a great used car. I was looking for a VW Jetta for my daughter and they had 5 to choose from! All were clean and well serviced and priced competitively. The sales office has a very homey, comfortable feel and I never felt any pressure from Bob or Matt to buy. I am very happy with the Jetta I chose and feel I was dealt with honestly and was given much information about the car. I also am happy to know they have a mechanic who has special training on VW's on hand when I need service. We will be back for our next used car! Most painless transaction ever!

This was the most painless used car buying experience we've ever had where financing was required. Bought an '04 Volvo XC70 which was priced fairly for it's condition and traded an '01 PT Cruiser. Mike offered me a generous trade value on the PT Cruiser, even when I explained what was wrong with the car. Financing was a breeze and we were able to get a 2 year power train warranty even though the Volvo was 10 years old. The crew made us feel welcome, and did not pressure in any way to make a purchase or choose a lender.

Car Shopping The Way It Should Be

I purchased a 2004 Jeep Liberty and had a great overall experience. There was no pressure in trying to sale me the vehicle. The vehicle I purchased was very well priced. Also the other ones I looked at on the lot were competitively priced. They service what they sale before the vehicles go on the lot. It showed because the ones on the lot were clean in appearance. Along with the ones I test drove being mechanically sound. My Liberty had 4 new tires,new muffler,new inspection and was undercoated along with some minor repairs under the hood. The lot,garage and inside of the dealership were clean. I did finance the Liberty and even with my less then perfect credit they made it work. I also purchased a 2 year warranty from them. They did not push that onto me and it was something I suggested first.

Excellent dealership!

My wife and I wanted to find a specific vehicle that this dealership had and they provided an excellent service. The price and buying process was great, they didn't tack on any "secret" fees and were very courteous and professional through the whole buying process, they also gave us a good trade in price for our 05 Ford Escape, every one was very nice. There was a couple of repairs that the 04 Chevy S-10 needed and they completed those repairs promptly and perfectly including replacing the batter for us after discovering that it was bad. The vehicle was otherwise in great shape and we are extremely happy with this purchase! I would recommend this dealer to everyone. Thank you again East Penn Auto!
