I would highly recommend this dealership and Jaime Berrios, the Sales Manager. I have leased 4 cars from Jaime and have been extremely satisfied with each experience. He is wonderful to work with and makes the leasing experience very easy and pleasant. This time I also worked with salesman Fred Meyer who was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. Everyone at the dealership was very nice and respectful.

In Aug 2015 my lease vehicle was hit while parked and in Aug 2016 I am still going back for repairs sustained from that accident. I have called customer relations at east coast toyota, toyota corporate and even contacted the better business bureau. I have gotten nowhere for the last year and the car is still not up to par.I had to take time off work, my gas and time spent waiting for the repairs (because I had no money for a rental) at the body shop to get the parts fixed that were less than satisfactory. I have gone back at least 1 to every 2 months to have the same pieces replaced. As an added bonus, the rubber seal was not put on properly and water was leaking into the car months before I noticed (I only noticed because soap from a car wash) and because of this the books that came with the car also got wet, still waiting for them to replace them. I am extremely lucky this car is a lease and not financed.

Went to get prices on a Tacoma and the sales rep started out nice, ended up being disrespectful telling me i should hurry up b/c he was only going to make $75 off this deal.also dealt with the owners son who was pushy and condescending. They were both extremely pushy and trying to tag team pressure me into buying something for I price I thought was too high. Then they got angry when I told then I wanted to shop around in order to find the best deal. Will never go back or recommend this dealership to anyone EVER!

My wife and I recently purchase a preowned (used) Camry from East Coast Toyota. Our previous experiences with car dealerships were not particularly positive and we were very skeptical about purchasing any car from any dealership. We did however take a chance and went to see a vehicle that was advertised on line. We are so glad that we did. Their sales person, Deepak Balani and his Sales Manager Mac renewed our faith in buying from a Dealer. East Coasts business model is designed to eliminate much of the hassle traditionally associated with car sales. Their team lived up to that promise. They delivered a simple, honest, and hassle free vehicle purchase experience. They were completely professional and put both of us at ease, right from the start. Deepak their sales person addressed every concern we had and he kept telling us not to worry that he would make sure we were completely satisfied or else he would not feel he had done his job. From the time we sat down until the time we drove off in the new car he attended to every detail. It is said that trust is earned and East coast Toyota most certainly earned our trust. All we can say is that we were more than satisfied with our experience. What a relief. How great to find a dealership and a sales person that actually cares about its customers and their total satisfaction. I would definitely recommend East Coast Toyota to anyone I looking to purchase a new or preowned vehicle.

Consumers don't be fooled by the attentiveness of the the Service Advisors as they are limited to what they are able to do for you.I came into the service department with a leak in my tire they originally was supposed to correct but didn't because they simply plugged it. Now still dealing with the same issue, i am informed that they are not able to correct and only replace at a cost of $228 for the tire when on their website it states a special for $214.50 with a 30 day price protection, which is very unreasonable and not really applicable based on all the restrictions placed on the comparison.I have afforded the Service Director the opportunity to call me back on this to work through it but was immediately told that he is in meetings and unavailable. The average cost of the tire with competitors is $180. Was willing to meet in the middle for the matter of convenience but having them stand their ground without concessions, illustrates to me that i am just a number in a long list of numbers that means nothing but dollar signs.Needless to say that I will take my business elsewhere for a mere $50 difference. Guess they didn't learn the cost of getting new clients is higher.Best to East Coast Toyota....Follow Up:Service Director did call back and walked through all the issues in detail. Understood the frustrations I was dealing with and made it work out for all parties. Thankful for their follow up and correcting a situation. It should never have gotten to this point and hopefully they take this as a lesson learned. Many thanks again for the East Coast Toyota Group....

Admits role in registration screw-up, but refuses to remedy

Customer Service: 1.0 Friendliness: 1.0 Overall Experience: 1.0

Very dissatisfied and disappointed. Traded in a car and paid dealer (inflated) fee to transfer plates from car we were trading in to car we were purchasing. The dealership was closing when we made the deal, and everyone was rushing to get the paperwork done. My husband accidentally gave them the registration for our other car that we weren't trading in - 2010 Honda Odyssey and not 2001 Honda Accord, with a different license plate and VIN of course. The dealer did not notice that the registration was for a different car, so it transferred the plates for our existing car that we weren't trading in to the new car instead of transferring the plates from the car we were trading in to the new car. So now the new car is supposed to have the plates that are on our existing car, and our existing car is not registered - and we can be ticketed, have the car towed, etc. Making things even worse, the license plates that were supposed to be transferred are now wiped out of the MVC's system, so we have to pay more money for new plates rather than the very modest fee to transfer plates. We acknowledged my husband's role in this, but he'll pay .... he has to take off work and wait in line to rectify this with the MVC. All we asked was for the dealer to refund the fees we paid for them to register the car that we bought. But the dealer refuses. Although the customer service manager acknowledged that both parties were at fault, and her sales person could have noticed that the registration was for a different car than we were trading in, she won't budge. She said we got the services we requested. I know my husband bears blame. But consumers are not the experts in these transactions. The car dealers do this all day long. Although it is possible a consumer will trade in a car and then seek to transfer plates from a completely different car, that is NOT the norm. Most consumers, like us, want to transfer plates from the car they're trading in to the car they're buying. That's the service we paid for, and that's not what we received. I don't think it's asking too much for the dealer we're paying excessive fees to to help guide us through the process to make sure the transfer is done properly. We're taking our responsibility and will go help rectify the problem. But the dealer, despite admitting that it is partly to blame, will not refund any of the fees we paid. I think that's bad business, and I will not bring my business back to this dealer.

I purchased a certified 2012 Rav4 and it was the worst thing I did. They labeled the car certified and when I drove out the dealership the rotors were warped, I had a bad wheel bearing, my emergency brake didn't work, my wipers were rotted, my visor light didn't work , transmission had to be changed and there's a lot more but what I'm really upset about is that my sales representative sold me a two wheel drive Rav4 when I was under the impression that it was four wheel drive. When I realized that it was not a four wheel drive vehicle and I brought it to my sales representatives attention his response to me was that all I can do now is trade in the vehicle and if I did that I was gonna lose alot of money. Worst experience of my life. The only thing this sales representative wanted was to sell a car fast. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. It's sad to say but its the honest truth..

From the moment we stepped in East Coast Toyota we felt welcome. We were welcomed at the door and the person I spoke with through email (who was quick and attentive, Ali) came and put us in the capable hands of Fernando Castro, who was straight forward and helpful from the get-go. I went in knowing what car I wanted and he helped me get in the drivers seat and helped me go through the details. Fernando worked with us and got us a great deal! He was personable and fun to work this deal out with. It means a lot to be comfortable with a car salesman in that way, as I was very stressed and nervous beforehand. By the end, I felt like a member of their "family". The follow-up emails and phone calls also meant a great deal to me, as they still remembered to check in with my new car, even though they had already made the sale. Thank you East Coast Toyota and thank you Fernando for all your help and patience!

2009 Toyota Prius. Check engine light was on and I wasn't getting much heat while idling. They told me I needed a new water pump, reserve tank and flow valve. They wanted $2,275 to fix it. I said no. Then I researched the engine code (p1121) and online it said "flow valve". I bought the flow valve online for $64 and changed it myself. How many people are they doing this to!!!!! Although my initial visit to East Coast Toyota wasn't as seamless or positive as any Truck Consumer would hope it would be, I was grateful to see that they at least offered a smidge of Damage Control. In standard dealership procedures the vehicles registration should be given within the 20 day time span. What should have been an easy transfer from one Tundra to another was a nightmare. Not only was my temp registration about to expire but I wasn't even contacted by my Salesman "Anthony Perrone" with an explanation or a remedy. Apparently there were a lot of loose ends that he didn't handle once my transaction began. I had to repeatedly call the dealership and eventually drive there to get someone's attention. Had it not been for the assistance of Michael Feldman & Jennifer I would have been forced to park my new truck and go rent a vehicle that I could drive LEGALLY for work. REALLY?!?! That's INSANE!!!At least now I'm convinced that they didn't allow one bad apple to spoil the bunch. Thanks Guys!~Carmine DM

Please read your contract very carefully!!! They will quote you an interest rate, and after you say you don't want the extra maintenance or the GAAP insurance, the salesman will go back to talk to the manager and tell you what the payment would be. Once you sign the contract you realize the payment you were quoted is actually a payment at a higher interest rate than you were told, includes their extra maintenance for $1200 and GAAP insurance. In reality, the payment should be much lower had they not sneaked in all the extras. PLEASE read the contract thoroughly as they are dishonest.

This is why I keep going backLA

Very unprofessional- this dealership kept throwing in extra ridiculous fees, bargained hard, agreed on a price then raised it $500 more, claimed they put $1500 into the used car I was interested in but carfax service records show otherwise and we were asked to wait for hours (although told it would take less than 30 min) to test drive a car because it needed a new battery put in to be driveable. Very shady dealings. Please stay away and do yourself a favor and go a no hassle dealership where isn't hard negotiations, pointless back and forth talk and waiting, hidden ridiculous fees, etc. You should not be paying more than a couple of hundred dollars for doc fees, state taxes, title, registration, and the base price for the car. Don't let this dealer lead you believe jacking up the price a couple of thousand is normal and every dealership does this- they don't. I bought somewhere else and you should too- Toyota Hackensack and Hudson Toyota are no hassle if you are looking for Toyota..Even after I said I wasn't interested in buying the car, I've been contacted several times by East Coast- twice I asked tho to erase my contact information and stop calling me...

Hello! who the heck is he to tell you how to communicate with your spouse? No manners at all!!! We were there to finance a car, saw a picture on the internet, looked good... NOT IN PERSON tho!!! Scratches all over the car, hood chipped, interior soooo dirty... Then he says, what do you expect from a used car? Tried to convince me to look at another car, 2 years older than we originally looked at, worse than the first, only same thing is... the price!!! LOL because he said the older car has navigation!!! Who is he kidding? $300 in dash navigation? Yeah sure i will take that coz it has a navigation!!! Didn't stop there... he then tried to convince us with leasing a brand new scion xb for a BMW x5 price!!! really??? Stayed there for a bit because of the manager, he's pretty nice and tried to work something out since we were already there, but with Praust's attitude, we can't do it. Drove a couple more miles to another dealer and got the car we want, for the price we want. It pays to be patient, there are so many other dealerships that cares a little more than the other. Take your time... you will find the right car, with better salesman, don't give a rude salesman his commission!

I enjoyed my car buying experience with Melissa and Brian.Melissa was great keeping in contact with me and gathering the information on leasing and financing I needed to make an educated decision. When I first visited East Coast Toyota, Brian and I crunched the numbers and found we were too far apart to make a deal. Brian gave me some more information and options that I hadn't considered or knew which allowed me to review the numbers better and come back to discuss making a deal. Brian truly seemed to mean it when he said he wanted to make sure a local customer (Wallington) got the best deal possible and constantly worked with me.His ability to get me 0% financing sealed the deal and I have nothing but positive reactions to how I was treated at East Coast and look forward to a good relationship with your dealership for many years to come. I will strongly recommend your dealership to friends and family as am happy with the fair dealing Brian and Melissa demonstrated. Here's to hopefully many years of a great relationship with your dealership.Best,Louis Meyers

If you pay car in full and still have to struggle to get title, its not worth it. Go somewhere else.

I went to this dealer for warranty work on my 2000 Tundra because of a frame recall. Crestmont on Rt 23 lied and told me the frame was fine just one week prior to it breaking in half behind the cab. They handled everything and also gave me a loaner at no charge. Considering that they basically rebuilt the truck from the ground up... I can't say enough about their workmanship and how they handled this. I was forewarned that it would take a few months to get the frame and do the work... so nothing was a surprise. The only surprise I had was that after 6 visits to Crestmont Toyota.... I was told by the Service Manager Roger just one week prior to the frame break that the rust wasn't bad enough to replace. Only after visiting East Coast that they told me that the campaign ends 3 weeks from my last visit to Crestmont.Do yourself a favor and deal with these folks... my next one will come from them!

Best experience I've ever had buying a car! If you are looking to buy a car Aaron is the guy you want to ask for. Very friendly, professional, but most importantly honest. I purchased a brand new 2013 RAV4 after falling in love with it after our test drive. During the negotation process I appreciated that he would listen to what I had to say before answering. He was never pushy or rude as so many other car salesman are. He walked me step by step through all the features in the car and made sure our car had a full tank of gas. I honestly never knew a car buying experience could be so pleasant until now. Will definitely continue buying cars from Aaron! Thanks,Jose

I decided to visit East Coast Toyota on Tuesday, 12/03/13, because I had been thinking about purchasing a new Scion XD. I already owned one for the past 3 years & I was interested in trading in my Scion for a new one with the same monthly payment.I had not planned to leave with a new car that day. I simply wanted to take a look. However, when I sat down to discuss my situation with Jonathan Nunez, one of the salesmen, he understood exactly what I was looking for & was confident I would be able to leave the dealership with a new Scion.Mr. Nunez was very professional & did not make me feel pressured to make a decision. He explained all of my options to me & helped me decide which option was best for me.As a result of his impeccable customer service skills, I did, in fact, leave the dealership in a brand new Scion XD with the same monthly payment. This is the type of hassle free service I look for when I visit a car dealership & Mr. Nunez should be recognized for providing such a pleasant experience.I will be recommending him and East Coast Toyota to anyone I know who is interested in buying a car & I will be returning in the future.

We saw online a used car that he we were interested in for our 17 year old daughter. We called the dealership at 7:00 on Friday night to confirm the car was still available and indicated we would be coming in to see the car the next day. On Saturday morning at 9:52 the dealership called us to see if we were still coming to see the car. After driving 63 miles (each way) we arrived at noon at East Coast Toyota. We were greeted and asked who we had an appointment with. After 20 minutes of scrambling, we were told the car was sold that morning. While this seemed strange, we were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Bottom line, this as a bait and switch! We finally found out the car had been sold 6 days prior to our phone call. The line given was that someone forgot to "marry" the deal. While this sounds like a reasonable explanation, the facts don't add up! The photos online were stock, we asked for current photos and we were told the car was "too new" to the dealership for photos. The sales person came out with a set of keys and was surprised to see it was not on the lot. Then we were told it was in the service bay. Eventually the showed us a much pricier vehicle and told they would "work" with us due to the inconvenience. We lost 4 hours of our Saturday, $20+ in gas driving to see this fictitious vehicle. I would NOT recommend this dealership!!

I went in to turn in my Sienna early on a lease and looked into leasing a new Highlander. I made my needs very specific to Jonathan N, after three hours my needs were not met and at the moment I was walking out the door I was given a definite deal to consider. I called back and lm to state my terms for the deal to go through, but never got a call back at the number I provided. Instead my home phone did, where Jonathan tried to speak to my father about the deal, HE IS NOT THE CUSTOMER!! After I called him back and left another message still no call back (guess you don't want my business). Received a call from customer relations stating I wouldn't be dealing with the sales rep anymore, I would have a VIP appointment where the manager, equip with all the previous suggested deal, "would make things right". Well, got there for that VIP appointment (with a new rep- John Lyons) to learn that no one had anything ready for me and I had to go over everything again and that ultimately he couldn't do anything without the General Manager. So, not only was my time wasted, but I what I was told didn't happen. So, still sitting here waiting for that call with a deal, that hasn't happened In the mean time Toyota Corporate was contacted with a full complaint of the way this situation has been handled. I really don't understand what happened to good customer service, I just wanted to lease a new car and not pay as much as I did on my old car, but for some reason this apparently seems to be an unreasonable request. Well, I would really love it if someone got back to me, but I am loosing faith quickly and getting ready to contact a new dealership. It is just a shame!

We live In Brooklyn, NY but my last vehicle was purchased via the East Coast Toyota Dealership. I was so happy with their prompt friendly service on my car that when the lease ended we decided to lease again at East Coast Toyota. We made an appointment with our salesman, Mr. Aaron Geib. Mr. Geib greeted us warmly and was very eager to please. We called him Aaron and I can honestly say that Aaron did everything in his power to make us happy. Aaron is a man of integrity and was always true to his word. If he promised us something, he followed through and made sure we got it. He is very knowledgeable about all the new technology in Toyota vehicles. Aaron is absolutely the best there is out there and he definitely made our buying experience with East Coast Toyota a very pleasant and memorable one.I highly recommend the East Coast Toyota Dealership and especially Mr Aaron Geib. If you'd like to walk (drive) out with a new car and a happy smile, just contact Mr. Aaron Geib at East Coast Toyota in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey.

Sold me on a warranty my vehicle was not eligible for, told me vehicle was 2/4 wheel drive, lied! on top of everything else lied about getting me an extra key for my vehicle. Waiting on results of my refund, will definitely keep site posted.UPDATE: 8-16-2013: Once again this dealership has let me down, refund paperwork that was left in there care and they were responsible for, not filed in a timely manner. I am now dealing with Toyota corporate in hopes of having this situation remedied. Initial feelings towards this dealership have not changed and if this review discourages anyone from utilizing this dealership then I feel I have done someone a favor.

Aaron Geib is very patient and professional every step. He explained the functions of the car detailedly and the test drive made me fall in love with the new Camry immediately. Aaron answered every one of our question with patience and smile. We feel extremely comfortable with him and trust him after a few conversation. On that day, we left East Coast Toyota at almost 9pm. The whole process of buying the car was nearly five to six hours. Aaron assisted us during all the process and had no complaints. He is definitely an amazing dealer whom I would recommend to my family and friend without doubt.

This was the worst car dealership experience we have ever had. While the salesman, Angel, was very pleasant and answered all our questions; the manager was the rudest, most arrogant, obnoxious sales manager we have ever encountered. In the 2 minutes he sat down with us to negotiate a price (even after we insisted that we were NOT making a purchase that day since we were only researching vehicles - he still insisted on "making a deal"), he was so nasty and rude, that even if we would have intended on purchasing that day, it most definitely would NOT have been from that dealership. I would not recommend that anyone purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Angel, the salesman, was a wonderful and pleasant person to work with. But, since you have to ultimately deal with his manager -- that just ruins the entire process. Angel should definitely look to work for another dealership, where his professionalism would be put to better use.

This was my first experience purchasing a car for myself and even though I did not leave the dealership with the car I came to see I felt the need to write a review because I think she completely deserves it. She was there to answer any question i had throughout the process whether it was through email or phone. I cant imagine that a lot of other sales associates would have the same level of patience she did with a customer like me so for that I am grateful that she was assigned to me. The experience there was amazing, my reason for not buying a toyota this time had nothing to do with her but i hope to be back in a few years to buy another car and i hope that she will still be there to put up with my annoyance.

WARNING!: I went to East Coast Toyota and asked how much it would cost for me to trade in my old lease with all the damage and over miles for a new one. The salesman came out took pictures of my damage and then spent 3 hours negotiating with me. At the end we signed a deal. As I was loading up my new car at 9:30PM the salesman came out and asked me to sign "one more thing" which turned out to be a paper saying that the dealership wouldn't be responsible for the damage or overmiles on my old car. Had I signed I would have received a $3-4000 bill from Toyota a few weeks later for the damage and over miles on my old car. I wrote an angry letter to Toyota telling them about this dishonest practice. The letter was forwarded to the dealership. I got a call from the dealer's customer service rep Stacy who is a very nice good person. She explained that the error was specific to the salesman and that overall the dealership is #1 for customer service. Bad news: If you shop here DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING until you read it twice and know exactly what you're getting into. Good news: If you have a complaint they have a great customer service department!

All throughout the process of purchasing my new vehicle, Mr. Fred Meyer had impressively done an excellent service. I know I am nuisance customer. I had so many questions, sending him multiple messages about the vehicle I wanted. I kept on changing my decisions, I changed my mind several times as to whether I should purchase or not the vehicle . I probably had annoyed him at some point but I was impressed because he did not demonstrate any signs of impatience and rejection. Instead he entertained my inquiry, responded courteously and informatively. I was pleased to his attention to detail, to his professional interaction, to his competence, and to his calmness . Mostly that made me appreciate him is the fact that he was not pushy, an exceptional quality! I appreciate his sincerity and dedication to his work. I wish Mr. Fred Meyer all the best. Indeed, he is highly commendable. Thank you.

Ms. Melissa Gonzalez provided us the most awesome experience that we ever had in buying a brand new car. We requested quotes and asked questions for the vehicles where we are interested and all of her responses are very prompt and straight forward. She is very honest and so easy to deal with. We sent her our asking price for the car that we like and she closed the deal with us through the internet. We just printed the chain of emails that we had during our negotiation, presented the print-out to the salesman, and everything went out smoothly from the presentation of the car up to the contract signing. Melissa is so kind and accommodating that she made us feel comfortable when we arrived in their dealership. She is truly a remarkable internet sales specialist! Highly recommended! And to show Melissa how grateful we are for having her as our internet sales specialist, we named our brand new 2013 Toyota Prius "Melissa" - to remind us of the wonderful person that we met, who sold us the most fuel efficient car that our family is using now. I originially went to Toyota of Hackensack looking for a new Toyota. After an hour and half of back and forth with the manager, I got a price. Before finalizing the deal, I took a shot and stopped by East Coast Toyota in Woodridge, which is just a few miles away. Angel Rivera was able to beat the price and offer me a choice of colors. Toyota of Hackensack wants to just sell you what they have on the lot and discourage you from making other choices if they do not currently have it. Angel offered me any color and located the car in just 2 days. He was also very easy to get in touch with, which is very important with the few minutes a day I get a chance to make a phone call at work. I even contacted him on his cell if he was not at his desk and he always answered.Even the showroom was very nice, clean and bright. And there is a very nice lady always walking around to see if you need anything and offering you Starbucks Coffee. All in all, I love my Toyota, and even though I only had it for a week, I know I made the right choice. I couldnt be happier with East Coast Toyota and especially Angel, who would not let me leave the lot with my new car until he explained all the many funtions of the Entune System (which is very cool) and the navigation. He even programmed my bluetooth for me. I would recommend anyone to Angel.

I had a terrible experience with another Toyota dealership (Who I will not name) and ended up taking my money back because they could not get me a car or any information on the car I was buying, and this lasted over a week! I took my money back and I went to East Coast Toyota because I was contacted by Jessica Juliano, an internet salesperson, who was very nice to speak to and was actually able to help me out very quickly! I arrived at East Coast Toyota at 6:30PM to speak with Jeff Brown, Mike Feldman, and Juan Inoa. All three of them were able to get me the deal I was looking for and more importantly, the car I was looking for! I ended up leaving the dealership at 9:00PM that night and even drove the car home! Talk about a perfect experience! I would highly recommend this dealership and all of the people I spoke with over there. They're a nice group of people who will help you get the deal and the car you're looking for, without all the hassle of a normal car dealership. Regardless of the fact that I met these people that day, they treated me as if they were friends of mine for a while, which is something you don't often get at a car dealership. Overall I was very pleased with my experience, and would recommend this dealership to anyone!

The price was good, but we both agreed there was room for negotiating.Because she was leaving that day before I would get there, she turned me over to another salesman, Jonathan, who concluded the deal.

Ms. Eda Erdogan kept me informed about new vehicle in a timely, detailed, acurately manner. She did not rush you but encourage you to buy using her skills. She helped me in choosing options, from a few different modles, prices. her price was competitive. She can get OK from her manager to sell me new car at a competitive price. You don't have to be exausted to barging with dealers. She honestly provided me a competitive price.

$107 just to hook me up & check why my Check Engine light is on? Heck no! They would have acquired a repeat customer, but now I wouldn't come back for any reason. I'm glad I didn't get suckered in to actually allow them to rip me off in that way. I'm glad there are still honest mechanics out there that do it as a courtesy with the knowledge that customer service is important. I had no problem whatsoever having someone else check it at no cost.

What brought me to this dealership was their on-line selection of cars. When I arrived at the dealership, the car I had seen on the web was on their lot and it was the price advertised on the web. In the end, I purchased a new Prius C car. I am very happy with the car and am satisfied with everyone at the dealership that assisted me with the purchase of my new car. Two things kept me at the dealership that day; a salesperson actually came over to speak with my wife and me and there was no pressure during the sale.

I went into the dealership anticipating buying a car. And that's exactly what happened! My husband and I were met immediately by the floor manager and were put into the hands of William. From our initial handshake to our closing handshake I felt very comfortable dealing with William. He was very personable, respectful and attentive to what I had to say. At any point was he less than professional. His approach to sales is very gentle but yet affirming in the product. Our overall experience was very good and I believe I would return to this dealer in the future.

The sales experience when I purchased my car was long, but good. These folks worked with me until we found a pre-owned car that fit my needs. I was at the dealer 8+ hours, they bought us lunch during that period and kept showing me cars and working with the financing. I came away quite pleased, and made some new friends, I felt.HOWEVER ... I had my first 5,000 mile service yesterday and the Service Department was a big disappointment in the communications department. They found a repair need during the checkup, that was a good thing, but quoted me one price and when I came to pick up the car they charged me MUCH MORE! I went in for a $369.20 routine service and came out with a $456.00 labor bill. Service also gave me a loaner car and stated I had to give a $150 deposit for it which would be returned to me when I brought back the car next day. Then, when I bring the car back, I find out that $150 refund will be held for 2-3 weeks! Happy with sales, not happy with service dept. When I took the bill to my regular mechanic, he looked at the parts and service and told me he could have done that repair for under $300. NEXT TIME I'LL KNOW BETTER when it comes to service.

The dealership did a great job at closing the deal with the car. I was happy until the moment I sign all the paper work. It had been a long day of car shopping and I was the last customer out. It was dark by the time I got into my new car. The very next day after work, I notice a few minor things wrong, especially since like I mention before it was dark and had be a long day. The seal to one of the doors was peeling off, subpar car detail, minor scratches, carpets missing, a set of keys did not unlock doors (was not programmed) and a SMALL dent (most likely form moving the car around the dealership). I went back to the dealership the very next day after work to show the minor problems and ask if these things would get fixed. I was assured by the sales manager at the time that it would, but would have to make an appointment through the sales manager who sold me the car who was not in. I called when the sales manager when he was at work and thats when it all starts. I get into it with the sales manager because he basically tells me I can only get a detail; keys programmed and after a long time of arguing carpets would be given. He informs me why I was on my own with all the other issues. Naturally I got frustrated by all this especially since I spent a hour from work trying to reason with this man and get into trouble by my boss cause of it. He does not want to hear how the other sales manager said it would all get fixed and that it could not have been me who did all these things to the car in less than 12hrs of owning the car. I know if I would have caught these MINOR issues that could easily be fixed before I signed the paper work they would of have fixed them, no problem. I still almost a month later trying to fix this. It is not like I cannot afforded new carpets or take the time and effort to fix these things on my own. It is the principle of the whole thing. Now they are sticking it to me. I have managed to get my car detailed and the seal fixed, but I am still trying to get my carpets that were promised to me at the time of my car detail. Please stay away from this place and help me remind these places that it is not us that need them and them that need the costumer.

The experience that I had with Jonathan proved that there are still good salesmen left in the car industry. He approach me, asked me how he could help me, and guided me throughout the entire buying process. Jonathan has done an exceptional job helping me from pricing, test drive, and explaining all the stages of the process. Jonathan works for you and not the dealer. Sometimes you might feel that with other salesmen but not with Jonathan. If you have the opportunity to purchase a Toyota please seek out Jonathan, its worth the wait, you will thank me and him later. Best of luck and hope you enjoy your car! PS. Managers are a bit pushy but you would be too if you had to sell 200-300 cars a month.

The customer service at East Coast is terrible. Went in to return my lease and was interested in leasing another vehicle. The saleman, Gary, was extremely rude and walked away from me. Then I asked another saleman for a manager so I could complain and tell him what had happened and he didn't help me either. He apologized and said sorry we can't give you the deal you are looking for. I ended up leaving the dealership and finding a better price at City World Toyota in the Bronx. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. Customer service should not be this way.

Everyone that buys or least a vehicle knows that you are in for a tenuous confrontation with the sale representative. But I have to admit that Mr. Jonathan Nunez of East Coast Toyota changed everything for me. Mr. Nunez is a young person with plenty of energy and enthusiasm to help you find the right car and the right price. Mr. Nunez took his time, made comparisons between vehicles for me and never displayed arrogance or discomfort to all my questions and uncertainties as to which vehicle to least. But it was not over at the dealership, Mr. Jonathan Nunez followed up with me two days after leasing my new vehicle, to make sure I was happy and to answer any questions I might have. I strongly recommend to anyone that decides to least or purchase a vehicle from East Coast Toyota to request Mr. Jonathan Nunez.

Classic bait and switch. offered a vehicle at $250/mo lease. After adding the car to insurance, paying them a check for deposit and waiting for 8+ hours (entire day), they wanted me to sign a second contract at $300+/month, which is $1800 more than original contract. They did not even return my check and asked me to wait till it clears so I can get a refund. Yeah, as if I have too many hours in my life to deal with these low lives. The sales person Tony and account manager Paco seemed nice, but finance manager Derek and Lou seemed to be in this deceptive business all their live. Do not waste your time with this dealership, look across the street for Ford or Nissan instead.

I had purchased a car for my daughter at Nissan in Totowa and was very disapointed with there service. I personally needed to change my car due to too many issues which needed to be attended to. I drive by East Coast toyota everyday and decided to check out my options to trade in my car. I have to admit i was not so optimistic about getting anything. My credit is not excellent but its not horrible either. Mr. Angel Riveras confidence and sales tactic were beyond that expected. I felt comfortable and knew in my heart this guy was going to do what ever he could to help me get a car without getting ripped off. As a woman, its normal to feel you cannot purchase a car on your own without having someone with you that has knowledge of buying a new car. Mr. Rivera knowing the promotions that perhaps would work for me, was able to get me a great deal and most importatnly the price and finance he got for me made it possible for me to afford a new car. I got a 2012 toyota corolla and it was the smoothest transition i had ever experienced.Your sales representative was professional and very knowledgeable in all he did. The finance leader was also very super nice and made me feel i just got a great deal. Thanks East Coast Toyota, keep hiring professional men that make it there business to see your customers leave happy! I would recommend everyone i know to you!

Here is the description why I rated the dealership poorly.. I am looking to buy Toyota Rav4 and so while searching best deal for the vehicle I came across this dealership's website. I inquired about the vehicle I was interested in for the price. I provided my email address and contact information for the inquiry. I got a reply by email asking me time to schedule meeting. Everything was fine until now.. I started getting calls from Alfredo Sierra (I believe he is internet sales specialist). I mentioned him frankly that I have inquired about the same vehicle with specifications I am looking for at other dealerships and I will decide based on who so ever is providing me with best deal. He mentioned to me that we will beat whatever lowest deal you get from other dealership (that's great, right?).So, I called him to schedule visit to checkout the vehicle. I drove there about 20 miles from my place. I was greeted by one of the person at dealership. I mentioned to him that I have talked with Alfredo and I would like to talk with him. Rather than going to convey my message, he called Alfredo from his cell (let me remind here, he was in the office just few steps from main door).. Then I was waiting and waiting and waiting...Then Alfredo came and right away he introduced me to Safi, who has no idea what so ever why I was there and what type and specification vehicle I was interested in..After wasting about half an hour, I came to know that they do not have the vehicle I was interested in.. Alfredo just made it up to bring me to the dealership...After leaving the place, I decided to talk with him and I was told that he(Alfredo) was taking lunch (at 6pm)... I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone, unless you live in walking distance without car and you have to buy car right away...

We leased a 2011 Toyota Camry XLE from Holman Cano.Previously we signed and than cancelled deal with Toyota Universe of Little Falls because they wasn`t honest and tryed clearly ripping us off.We dicided to look for a new deal and were very fortunate at East Cost Toyota of Wood Ridge when we met friendly and professional sales person Holman Cano.We had an appointment at 3pm and the same day signed all documents for lease x 36 month and drove home new car.We asked for total price of monthly payment incl(Gap insurance plus taxes)and received the best deal.Financial manager Louis very detailing explained us cost and purpose of insurances without any obligation and we very approciate it.I know lots of people who was confused by bargaining one price and receiving this price and than plus and plus...We made this clear for dealership and us to eliminate any misunderstanding. On the next day after lease was signed we noted vibration on high speed during applying breaks, called to Holman and he made an appointment for service. The problem was fixed(as Frank at service center explained the car wasn`t moving for a while and there were flat spots on tires. All tires were rebalanced and checked on special equipment for no cost.)Several people called us to follow up.We will definitely highly recommend and refer people to go see Holman Cano and other emploee at East Cost Toyota dealedship of Wood Ridge. We are happy customers and will spread the information about excellent sale and great service provided by this dealedship.GOOD JOB!

I bought a new RAV4 from this dealership back in April. Also added a remote starter and backup camera. I agreed on a price with them but was not given a split for the value of the backup camera and remote start. When asked what would be the model of this optional equipment (which was installed later), i was told "You will see when you get it". I came the next weekend to get the equipment installed, i was not given a choice on which brand would be installed. They just decided to put some cheap equipment. I had to wait 6 hrs at the dealership while they installed it. The backup camera system has a cheap rear view mirror which is so crappy - It turns on everytime you start the car and there is no setting to turn it off except power it off everytime you start the car which is unsafe!!! Looking at the mirror gives me a headache, the image moves when you move and is unclear at the edges. The display craps out on half of the mirror sometime when backing up (considering its just been 2 months since it was installed). The remote starter has "Stopped" working. The engine keeps cranking and does not start when using the remote starter.I called them many times and was told some one from the service department will give a call. I got no Call!!!They were supposed to call me when the license plates and registration were ready from the salesperson - did not get any call. When i used to call them they seemed really rude.I think these are a bunch of "Customer-ignorant" money suckers.I also called the Toyota experience center and am currently trying to resolve the issues. I think everyone who are having problems with this dealer should call the Toyota experience center so that Toyota gets to know their dealers more!!If it doesnt get resolved i am planning to take it up with my lawyer - the mirror violates safety requirements and is a hazard!!

I waited a couple of days and I did not receive the car registration. I have to pay insurance on two cars because of the dealers delay in sending me the tags. after reading the reviews on the website i was hesitant about purchasing a car from this dealership however i was very specific in what vehicle i wanted to purchase and this was the only dealership that had the exact car i wanted - a white scion tc 5 speed (a very girly sporty car, perfect for me!). i went to the dealership, to a look at the car, test drove it, the usual escapade before considering to buy a vehicle. after a few days of thinking about it, i went back to the dealership to talk some numbers. they set me up with one of their salesman bobby who seemed uninterested in even talking to me. he told me there was "NO WAY" i would get this car for less that 3000 down and 300+ dollars a month. i informed him that i would be returning over the weekend with my father to make an offer on the car and hopefully work out a deal as i would be trading in a vehicle that i was already financing. the next day, i called bobby to make an appointment, and the phone rang & rang - NO ANSWER. i called back again and the receptionist told me he was there and transfered me again. i left a message stating my name and the car i was interested in and i never heard back from him. i am a young female and i assume he didnt think i was serious about the buying the car so i went back for a THIRD time to speak with a new salesperson, nishant. nishant is very nice and was very pleasant to work with, which put me at ease. he informed me that i wouldnt need to put any money down, he would take car of the vehicle i was financing, and i would have the scion for $275 a month. after hearing the good news i immediately took the offer. 5 hours later i met with their financing person, luis. after trying to sell me a whole bunch of unneccessary insurance and protection policies, he got me for a gap-coverage plan - another $5 a month. i told him that im a student and i have a job so i wouldnt want to pay anymore than i am already. he informed me that my contract was for $280 and reassured me AGAIN that the car i traded in was going to be taken care of considering i still had a loan out for the car in the amount of $6000 .. shortly after, i received the keys to the car and attempted to drive off the lot BUT my new/used scion tc WOULDNT START!!!!!! seeing as it was after 9pm and most of the staff was leaving i began to become angry. an associate named mo called my salesperson and told them my just-purchase vehicle wasnt starting .. he said i needed to leave the car on the lot so he can have someone look at it in the morning and i would have to take my old car home .. GREAT .. just as i was getting back in to my old car, he started the scion .. he told me it was just an error with the key since it had not been programmed .. SPLENDID .. now that i just s*!$ my pants i can take my new car home .. pleased with my new cute car and the fact that i actually had it i was pretty happy.. until i got a call 2 weeks later from my old financing company telling me that my bill was past due and that they never recieved a call about me trading it in .. once again i was FURIOUS. i called nishant, my sales rep, who told me to ignore the calls because the check was sent to them and theyll have the money in a few days .. he then said there was paperwork that needed to be finished and i had to drive all the way back to the dealership.. not to mention i had to make a trip up there to drop off papers for the bank the week before ! being that i work so much, i did not make it there so the next day luis left me a message stating that i needed to come in and sign the papers and if i didnt like the banks deal i needed to give them the car back .. i was so confused !!!! i called luis back and asked him what was going on seeing as i already signed the contract and i was ready to make my payments .. he said they either want the 3000 dollars (which the first salesman told me) or they want my name taken off of the contract which was cosigned by my mother or i can leave the car on their lot if i didnt like it .. TRUTH BE TOLD: THEY ARE GETTING THEIR CAR BACK TONIGHT !!!!!! i am MORE than unhappy. i have searched and visited MANY dealerships and i am not happy that i chose them .. VERY UNPROFESSIONALBUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!

From bogus tire tax, inflated pricing, being sold an uninspected car with no brakes and a transmission that was recalled, and in general being sold a $10,000 car 6 months ago that is currently undriveable (no seriously)....buyer beware of this place. At the eleventh hour, owner John Ripoli stepped in and gutted a deal to buy a Prius that had been 2 weeks and many, many hours of my time (and his staffs time) in the making. After they took a down payment, had the contract drawn up, and had me sign the contract, Ripoli stepped in and tried to extort an extra $600 (plus tax). He then appointed a "Rude Man in Chief", named Rolando Perez, to run us out of there when we refused to capitulate.

The first time we went there it was for a used car for my husband. John Lyons took care of us and he didn't make us feel obligated to a sale. However we ended up buying privately. A few weeks later we decided to lease a new car for myself, so I called John and again he gave me all the information I needed to decide between leasing and financing, ran our credit and had everything ready to go once we came in the next day. He knew what we needed and could afford and again was not pushy or did not try to hit us with hidden cost or go over our bugget. My husband is in sales and was dreading the idea of dealing with a car salesman, but he was very impressed with East Coast Toyota's treatment of the customers from the receptionist to the managers and financial specialist. I would recommend East Coast Toyota to everyone who would like an enjoyable experience without the pushy sales tactics that we experienced in other places.

John went above and beyond what a salesperson should do. Always following up, letting me have a word, giving me a great price. The overall experience down to Mike the sales manager and even the receptionist was incredible. My sister and I purchased both a 2010 Highlander and 2011 Camry brand new in October 2010 from John at East Coast. I was so happy with the way I was treated and the fair pricing that I came back in February of 2011 and purchased a Sienna for myself.Need I say more? Three cars purchased from the same dealer and salesperson in a time period of roughly almost 4 months.

So, i recommend that when you go to this dealership you request Holman Cano as your salesman because you will be very happy and satisfied working with him in getting the car you want =) East Coast Toyota is a very friendly and clean dealership and if you are looking to buy a toyota make sure you visit this dealership !

Escape excessive mileage & wear & tear penalties and so many others... They took my car but did not pay off my existing lease.I find out in a month (when I got my statement from Toyota Fanatical) that my old lease was not covered. From the moment I walked in, until the moment I drove the car off the lot my mind was at ease. Jamie was patient, answered all of my questions, took me (and my wife and kids) for a test drive far off the lot (in a snowstorm). The price was right, and it took no time at all for the paperwork to be handled. In no way was I pressured to buy anything. I was not sure what I wanted walking in, but the same emphasis was given to the lesser models as the larger, pricier ones like the 2011 Highlander I was happy to take home.

Our recent experience at East Coast Toyota was nothing short of excellent! Our salesperson, Holman Cano, was the consummate professional. He patiently answered all of our questions and never once made us feel pressured or hurried us to come to a decision. He understood that we were working within a tight budget and worked hard to get us maximum value for our trade-in. The remaining staff members were also very friendly and professional. We will definitely recommend that our friends go see Holman Cano and the rest of the staff at East Coast Toyota the next time they're in the market for a quality Toyota vehicle! I received a promotional letter in January of 2010 from East Coast Toyota Scion offering to buy back my 2008 Toyota Yaris (that I purchased through them in 2008) AND pay off the difference in trade for one of their 2010 leases. I took advantage of the promotion (or so I thought) and am leasing a 2010 Toyota Corolla but have since noticed on my lease that they tacked on an additional $5000 (the difference of what was still owed on my Yaris at that time) into the total cost of my 3 year lease agreement. I have since tried to get this issue resolved but they are telling me that I have no proof and that I already signed the lease. They are admitting to the promotion they held in January (I spoke with one of their salesmen by the name of Alfredo confirming it), but Lou Mendez (their financial manager) refuses to send me a copy of the promotional letter that was originally sent to me. I have documentation sent from Toyota Corp. back in February of 2010 stating that my Yaris WAS paid for IN FULL (even though my lease says otherwise) yet they STILL refuse to resolve the situation. According to my calculations, since leasing my Toyota Corolla starting in January 2010, I have overpaid over $800 due to their inaccurate figures which will continue to keep rising if they keep refusing to fix their error. In addition, this is now the third time this dealership has screwed me over. When I received this promotional letter, it was just 2 DAYS before all the Toyota recalls hit the media. I had heard about it prior though and asked my salesman if my Corolla was one of the affected cars. He told me, "we would never sell you a vehicle off our lot that was being recalled." When I called 2 days later (since my car WAS one of the affected vehicles) he denied ever saying that.Lastly, when I purchased my Toyota Yaris back in 2008, they charged me an interest rate of over 8% (I have a credit score of 730... this should have never happened). This was the first car I ever bought though and didn't know any better that the dealership was clearly ripping me off. Live and learn.Do not give this dealership your business! GO ELSEWHERE!

I have now purchased 3 vehicles within a 10 month period from East Coast. I purchased a 2010 Camry 10 months ago only to have the car totaled last month. So I went back, this time with my wife who was coming out of a 3 year lease on her Subaru Tribeca. The folks at East Coast were up to the challenge of giving us a good deal on 2 new vehicles. We drove out of the showroom that same evening with 2 new cars, a 2011 Camry and a 2010 Rav4. We are as happy with both cars as I was with the first Camry. All involved were professional and a pleasure to work with. Larry Steinberg was our direct salesperson. He was great from beginning to end. Mike Feldman was the numbers man that was never at a loss when it came to some sort of numerical creativity to make the deal work. Mark Catalano was helpful a few weeks after the sale when a question arose regarding the Tribeca's final payments to Subaru. All in all it's been a pleasant experience and we would certainly recommend East Coast to friends and family.

My wife and I went to the dealership to test drive a 2010 Prius. I knew little about driving a hybrid. Mister Paco Ramirez set us up with Alex Pena, our salesman who proceeded to take us out to the car and fully explain all the procedures for operating the vehicle. After helping to adjust the car for my driving position we proceeded onto busy Route 17. Mr. Pena fully explained all the bells and whistles in the hi-tech vehicle. We finished the test drive and came back to the showroom to discuss a deal. We decided to lease the car and came to a deal. We were pleasantly surprised when Alex said that we would be able to drive the car home that night. Mr. Juan Higuita handled the financial end of the deal. At no time was there ever any high pressure in the process. When the car arrived Alex made sure to answer all of our final questions before we drove off. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

The showroom was packed, but at no time was I forgotten..I got a great deal on the lease of the vehicle, it was delivered exactly as expected, on time. My plates arrived within 1 week, and I received several calls and emails as followups on the sale of the car. I even met the owner, who was a really nice guy. We sat and talked for about 30 minutes, he was a very friendly person. He also made sure I was happy throughout the process, which was one of the easiest times I've had buying a vehicle. The salesman was very nice, Jeffrey Lai. However, sales manager Mike Feldman was a different story. I agreed on a price, then he cornered me when I was looking at the car & said he'd sell it to me on that price on the condition I would give 100% excellent rating with Toyota. I said yeah sure..he asked, again would there be any reason I would not give a 100% excellent rating? I hesitated & said well the price wasn't what I originally wanted to pay but I would still give them the highest rating. He said because I'd hesitated like that, he wouldn't sell me the car & had to back out of the deal. obviously the guy doesn't know me but when I give my word, I abide by it. I'd never experience being treated like this, it was very distasteful to put it mildly. This guy acted like scum & I would never go back there in a million years. If you want a pleasant buying experience, do NOT go to East Coast Toyota.

This was by far the best of all the car dealerships [Toyota, Honda, Ford, Kia, et al.] that I have visited in my recent new car purchase experience, and quite possibly the best dealership I have ever dealt with. I spoke to a number of dealers [including several other Toyota dealers] and these fellows were peerless. From the excellent salesman Larry Steinberg, to the desk manager Mr. Feldman [I unfortunately don't recall his first name but I believe it may be Mike], to Frank Lizardi who finished up the paperwork and helped very creatively with some loan rate details, to Eddie who tutored me on the car before I drove off, they were a top-notch, personable and professional group. I purchased a new 4Runner [trading in an old Ford Explorer] and got a great price on the new car and the trade-in without undo haggling. I am recommending the dealership - and the beautiful 4Runner - to all my neighbors and friends. The car rides like a gem, has top of the line reliability ratings, and looks beautiful. The price was great and the interactions were a pleasure. I recommend this dealer (and the car) MOST HIGHLY!

Pleasant experience. My husband and myself went with the kids to pick out a car as our Mazda was coming off-lease. We wanted to take advantage of the year end model deals and had two important items on our list; 1. good gas mileage and 2. third row seats. Our salesperson Rolando was very courteous and understanding that we had the kids so we were on a time constraint. He cut to the chase and got us into test drive a RAV4 with a child friendly third row. We than tested out a used Highlander for around the same price. We decided to sleep on it and came back w/the kids with the intent of purchasing the zippy Rav4. He gave us a great price and when asked was very upfront regarding any fees. He even bought the kids an ice-cream while we were checking the accuracy of the paperwork. We did have to check the details of the contract for accuracy. Plain and simple this is a big ticket item with a lot of human intervention so mistakes can be made. In general it takes time to run through the process. In terms of our salesperson, Rolando, was excellent and our experience with dealership was as as expected. Overall high recommendations! :)

This is the second vehicle I have purchased with the expert assistance of East Coast Toyota Scion staff. I traded in my 2008 Prius (a great car!) for a 2010 Prius (even better than the 2008). Alex and Ronald were easy to work with, supportive in finding a financial solution that matched my needs, and generally just good guys. When my husband commented that he was hungry as he had not ate lunch, Alex offered to send out for food, this despite the cook out with hamburgers and hot dogs available for customers! The hard sell is just not the approach at this dealership rather an ethic and pride is evident in Alex's approach to sales. I know that I will be returning in another two years for my next trade in or trade up - I should say, because with each iteration, the Prius just gets better and better. The folks who prepped the new vehicle also did a great job. They were able to remove my Clean Air Pass (HOV Sticker) from the old car and put it on the new one, and also installed my Sirius radio from the old into the new. Thanks so much! And by the way, my husband had a hamburger and hot dog - a finicky eater, he said he enjoyed the food.

After signing the final papers and agreeing to everything I was asked to wait in the waiting area for over 3 minutes so they could get my car ready. Guess what. The car wasn't even there. They apologized and said it might be in a few days (it was on its way). Three days later I picked it up but going through the final paperwork with the Finance Manager, he tried to get several hundred dollars more from me because "the salesman and Sales Manager made a mistake". If I had not left my deposit and signed the papers I would have walked out. On top of that he was condescending when I opted out of taking an extended warranty and kept questioning why on earth would I have taken it out on my trade-in-car but not this new one. My husband and I were more than pleased with the service that we received at East Coast Toyota. We had contacted this dealership because we were so disappointed with the (lack of) service that we received from another Toyota dealership in the area. As soon as we contacted East Coast Toyota, we were immediately put into contact with Alfredo Sierra. He listened to our needs and concerns, located a vehicle and within 15 minutes emailed us the specs and all necessary info on the vehicle that we were interested in. We were able to get an appointment for the next morning. Upon arriving at the dealership, we were pleasantly greeted and only had to wait for our sales consultant, Ray Hungria, because he was filling the gas tank of our new car. As soon as we met him, he was extremely helpful and thorough with everything (i.e.- test driving, description of the car, lease terms, etc). We were ultimately in and out of the dealership with our new car within 3 hrs...less than 24 hrs after we initially contacted East Coast Toyota. We've never had such great overall service with a dealership before.

On Friday 4/30/10 me and my wife went to East Coast Toyota to buy RAV4 Limited (4430).We started to talked to Salesman Ramon. He mentioned that it was the last day of the month so they want to make deal. They wanted $29,000. we offered $28,000.They did not accept the price so we left.On Monday 05/03/2010 my wife called Ramon and offered $28,500.Ramon went and talked to Salesmanager Orlando. He came back said they have accepted the offer. On Tuesday 05/04/2010 we went to dealership to sign papers and put down deposit. Orlando was off that day so Mike came to us and said that price was only good until yesterday. Today"s price is $28,900. So we left.Few days later Ramon called and said he feels bad about the other day.He want"s to sale the car for $28,800 only if we don"t bury him when Toyota sends out Consumer Satisfaction Report. Other wise he would lose $700.00. I promised him not to do so.He asked me what I wanted to do.I told him I am coming down right now to sign the papers and put down the deposit. He said wait one minute. He put on hold. When he came back he said they want $28,999.These people are very crooks. Buyers beware.Bharat.

I went to buy a RAV-4 in order to take advantage of 0% financing. The sales people were honest and very helpful. I agreed to a price and proceeded to sign a promise to buy. The sales people did not mention that at the time I were to sign the financing documents, other charges would be added to the total cost. I am sure that sales people have been instructed not to mention the hidden charges that will follow. When I saw the Retail Installment Contract, where the price of the car, the sales tax and the hidden charges had been lumped together, I knew I was going to be fleeced. To make things worse I had agreed to buy an extended warranty contract and a 2 year service contract. When I questioned the financing person Frank why the price of the car, the sales tax and other charges had not been itemized separately, he changed the conversation by pointing out that the monthly payment without the extended warranty contract would be $378.88 and with the contract included would be only $393.50. I naively thought I was home free. Not so fast sucker. I went home and looked up at the hidden charges and found $567.00 more that I had bargained for. Documentary fee $300.00, window etching $177.00, and sales tax on the extendeed warranty contract $90. The price of the car, the window etching the vehicle sales tax and the $90.00 sales tax on the extended warranty contract were lumped together. The $300 documentary fee was itemized but was never disclosed in advance. The $299.00 and $8.00 for motor vehicle fees were properly itemized and I was aware of them by previous experience so I am not complaining about them. The other $567.00 were never disclosed and about them I have a big problem. I went to deal decently and honestly with a seller and was deceived. I have yet to find a car dealer that will conduct business in good faith and East Coast Toyota did not change my mindset. I refuse to blame the sales people as they were knowledgeable, helpful, and extremely courteous. I put the blame squarely on the dealership for using those tricks to take advantage of their customers. I will never buy again from East Coast Toyota or any other dealership. I will use a professional buyer to buy from unscropulous sellers.

I am very pleased with East Coast Totoya. This is my second vehicle I have purchases at East Coast Totoya. Carlos had sold me my first vehicle and I was very happy when I left the dealer, the price was great and the customer service that was given to me was wonderful. I live in Brooklyn and I have been to other toyota dealers but wasn't given the same treatment like East Coast Totoya. I would rather drive to New Jersey and be very satisfy with my decision. I couldn't see my self going to purchase my second vehicle at any other dealer. I decided to go back to East Coast Toyota for a trade in. Carlos was the sale man I wanted to help me on my second vehicle being that he was very kind and helpful and made you feel comfortable, I knew Carlos would help me pick the right vehicle for me. I am very happy with my new car and the treatment I received from my sales man and East Coast Totoya was great. I couldn't see myself purchasing a new vechile any where else but East Coast Totoya. I recommended anyone that wants to buy a Totoya and have questions on purchasing should go to at East Coast Totoya.

Animatedragin, my heart goes out to you for all your trouble in getting a refund, but I do have a friendly advice for you too. Anyone that can be persuaded to put a downpayment of $5,000 to show that he/she is serious about buying a car, should really go with another person to buy anything more than $150. I am trying to be helpful and I hope you take a friend/relative along when you go to a dealership for service too.Remember most dealerships operate on a simple premise - do everything to maximize their profits. When a customer walks in the door, they try to get the maximum downpayment and the maximum Sale price from the customer. All the customer has to do is stand up and say "NO, Thanks".

Followup to my previous review on Purchasing experience that went sour.. this is regarding the refund of my downpayment for the new car that they refused to sell to me.I had placed a total 5000$ downpayment on the RAV4 in their suggested "good faith" that Im serious about purchasing before continued negotiation on the price. (BAD IDEA!!) This isn't just $200 that most people would put down.. this is FIVE THOUSAND$, Im SERIOUS about buying that day. SO i gave them $2000 in Money Order (VERY BAD IDEA- ALways in Credit Card!!) and $3000 in Credit Card since they refused to accept more than that via CC. But they still insisted on $1100 ABOVE invoice (quite outrageous btw, an avg deal is about 500$ above invoice), with a nondocumented promise of $100 referal refund at signing. After unsuccessfully trying to forcefeed me added charges by lieing that they're neccessary, they refused to sell me the car because I refused the extra charges. So I ask for my $5000 back. They refused that also. They said refunds are only processed on Fridays (It was Monday). I asked about my 2000$ Money Order.. and they said "it's already in the safe, we'll issue a check refund on Friday".Fine, I left, very upset they wasted 6 hrs of my time.Come the FIRST Friday, I called EastCoast to make sure my refund will be processed. They tell me I have to Drive back into the dealership for a magnetic card swipe for the refund (they didnt mention this Monday), and the $2000 check will go in the mail that day. I'm outraged, they want me to rent a car to drive across state lines paying 20$ tolls each way for a refund they owe me. I call my CC company and my CC confirms that a Magnetic swipe is NOT necessary for this refund, all they have to do is refund it from their system. EastCoast is LYING about physical CreditCard Presence. I filed for CC Chargeback of $3000 and CreditCardCompany says they will refrain from a forced chargeback until 30days after the initial charge, they will give the merchant 30days to refund themselves. I wait until the following wednesday and still NO CHECK in the mail. From NJ to NY, if they dropped the mail on Friday, I should have it by Saturday, LATEST would be Monday.**when i had called eastcoast, the CSR transfer me to Orlando, the Sales Manager that i dealt with that day. My fiance actually spoke to him since the car was to be under her name and he went off on a rant trashtalking about me of how obnoxious and unreasonable, and difficult I was in negotiating the price. Professional? I think not, it was hard to keep him on topic about the refund.Come 2nd Friday, I called EASTCOAST again for my refund. Again, we were forced to speak to Orlando, which we really didnt want to since in every instance of interaction w/ him, he seems to have no interest in cooperating. He again, reaffirms that we MUST come to locatin for the CreditCard refund, and he'll followup on the Check refund and call us back and send us a fax confirmation. He never did. Next week rolls around.. NO CHECK IN THE MAIL.30Days later, we have not received our $3000 CreditCard Refund willingly by EastCoast, so ChaseBank pulls the funds back forcefully. EastCoast can still appeal the chargeback and recharge us again requiring us to re-appeal, but fortunately, they didnt.. but i don't see why they would since all the paperwork we initially sent in was pretty open&shut clear what happened.50+days later, we still have NO CHECK REFUND for $2000 from eastcoast. I filed reports with the BBB.org, FTC, Attorney Generals of NY and NJ, and filed a complaint with Toyota Headquarters, and researching Small Claims Court against EastCoast. Unfortunately Toyota HQ can only note the complaint and alert the dealership, but cannot authoritively instruct them to refund. ToyotaHQ instructs me to contact EastCoast again and ask to speak specifically to the CustomerRelationsSpecialist. So i called eastcoast and ask for CustomerRelationsSpecialist and was transfered accordingly.Spoke with Mark Catalano on a Monday, he said he'd research the matter and return my call the next day. NextDay Tuesday, Mark calls us back and says he will issue a check refund for $2000 that same day, if i could come in for pickup. I said no to pickup so he agreed to mail it. I asked for a fax confirmation and he said OK. I never recvd the Fax confirmation. Wednesday =NO CHECK. Thursday =NO CHECK. Friday ("refund day") and it's his day off, I leave a msg. Friday Night, I find my $2000 check from EastCoast, FINALLY. The check was printed on Tuesday, and obviously mailed BEFORE Friday if It's in my mailbox by Friday. REFUNDS ARE ONLY PROCESSED ON FRIDAYS? I call BULLS8lT!!Now if Customer Service didnt INSIST on having us speak with Orlando & Rolando, this wouldve been resolved a LONG time ago. Thank You Mark Catalano, but no thank you East Coast Toyota. I will never buy from them ever unless they can beat my best offer by 300$ OTD with no bs from the salesman nor the F&I, and Im not putting more than $100 downpayment.

He was so kind. El fue tal caballero! (He was such a gentleman!) He and John in financing were so efficient, I drove the car home the very same day! PLEASE DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO THIS DEALERSHIP! F-Talk about the worse experience of my life!!!! The sales, finance, and managers reminds me of mobsters. My husband and I spent an entire day at the new car dealership as they tried to get us to finance a vehicle which the lease was about to expire instead of giving us other options. The sales and finance folks go back and forth like roadrunners and mumble amongst each other. Then they come back with rates and monthly payments scribbled on a piece of paper and try to convince you to get a car they want. Even so, they never give you a clear answer as to whether or not you have been approved by a bank. Even so, we decided to finance a used 2007 Toyota from another dealership who's affiliated with them and after signing several docs and assuming that the car was ours, someone turned around and said that we could not take the car because it was not certified. Who that someone is; I still have yet to know. Of course, they prefer to certify the vehicle in order to inflate the price and stick it to us. If you like being around vultures, feel free to pay them a visit - otherwise stay away!!!!!!!

Bought my Yaris from the dealership. I have had all of the service performed at East Coast Toyota. The sales staff were very helpful as well as friendly. They did not oversell - they just listened to my needs and found the car to fit them. Service has gone out of their way to make routine service pleasant as well as the little extra - like fixing a slow flat for no charge when my car was in for a check-up. All in all they have gone well beyond what was expected in a car dealership in both sales and service. I would buy my next car from them but I don't think this one will ever wear out!! Thank you.

I was initially hesitant to go to this dealership after reading some of these reviews. However, the dealership had a used car (2007 FJ Cruiser) that I had been wanting for a while and the price was too good to pass up a visit to the dealership. To my surprise, it was a great experience. The experience was hassle free, I had full tank of gas (its the little things that matter), the used car drove like it was new, and it looked like it was new. And I even got a free hot dog (this isnt a little thing). Most importantly, I got a great price and everyone was friendly. The customer service manager (Mark ?) and salesman (Juan ?) were particularly friendly, helpful, and efficient. Normally I dont comment on this type of thing, but after reading several bad reviews (typically people only comment when they have had a bad experience) I thought it was only fair to convey my experience to others.

I went to pick up my registration and had my licece plates put on. I then realized that the guy who put on the plates, made a huge scratch on the front bumper with the screw driver. I confronted him and he said he didn't speak English and walked away. I then spoke to Mr. Catalano, the manager, and was told that there was nothing he could do because his guy told him that he didn't do it. I showed him the scratch exactly above where the guy had just screwed in the plate. He again said that I had no proof that it was his guy and that we would just have to "agree to disagree" and he walked away. I have never seen such unprofessionalism in my life. And this is the manager? I do have to say that the salesman, Johnny Cruz, was very nice to deal with during the sales process. I would never recommend this dealer to anyone else. How dare you hire people who don't know what they're doing and then let the customer foot the bill for their damage??????As a manager, at least apologize for the help you hire.

I bought a new Camry 2007 from this dealer and the hispanic Finance Officer asked me to sign a blank form which I did. However, he assured me that interest rate was going to be 6.25% and that the premium was going to 400.98. My premium did not change, but a few month after paying my preiums at the TFS website, I realized that my interest rate was in fact 6.65%. Therefore, I could only surmise that although we had told me the apr was 6.25, he had already done the calculations for 6.65% which left the premium unchanged at 400.98 I don't know how these people sleep at night. I could only pray that God will have mercy upon their souls. It is the most dishonest Finance Officer I have ever had to deal with, and I have purchased two other new vehicles in the past. Although I am willing to take partial responsibility for not bringing the used vehicle that I purchased from East Coast Toyota to my own mechanic for inspection, I assumed (my first mistake) that when they said that a 120 point inspection had been completed the car would not end up in for repairs five times in a matter of the five months I had owned it. We even attempted to go back to the dealership less than 1 month after we purchased this car to try to get out of the car and get a brand new car knowing we may take a hit. They came back with a monthly payment that we could not remotely afford. We have even tried to get rid of the car at other dealerships but we are now stuck with a car that we are constantly worried about. We will never go back to this dealership and we would never recommend this dearlership to anyone.

Like everyone else mentioned here, they are very pushy. They tried to get deals done real soon, when asked for price, they would just tell you how much you think you can afford, then when you tell them a price, they'd say "this is a bit too low, have to talk to my manger". Then puts you to wait for 10 minutes, comes back, says the same thing allllllll over again. What's your price range, if you can get this deal settle today, we're offer you 75X2, 150 for referral reward, still, says nothing about how much the car costs. THen puts you on wait for another 10 minutes while the manager's on a mood as if his house was bombed or something. I can't recall this guy ever smiled. THey asked for how much you're willing to pay, and when you tell them, they'll go on a big loooop. Wasted time, they also don't provide accurate information on cars.Friendly=noHelpful=nopricing=HELL noThe only thing good about that place is the CARS.

Although others were pressured, I can say the used 2004 Toyota I purchased was a pleasure to buy and to drive. I live in Manhattan and Nelson drove the car into the city to allow us to test-drive it. Manhattan driving can take a toll on a car and they took a risk that we wouldn't buy it when they drove in. The purchase was a good deal and they were firm but friendly about their price. They provided the option to have "certification" and "bumper-to-bumper" with little but steady pressure. We went with the certification because it is a hybrid drivetrain.

When we bought a new RAV4 from them, we were pressured to inspect the car at dusk and sign the paperworks. The next day we took another look and found a huge, unremovable stain on the car seat. Of course they did not want to give us the time of day after the sale was finalized.

Moral of the story? Don't let anyone pressure you into anything. Make sure you are absolutely happy with the deal AND the car before all else.
