They Broke My Car

I took my car in for recall repairs and the shock separated when they lifted my car. Spring broke. They say they will not fix. Want to charge me $1400. It was fine before taking it to the shop.

We brought in our bmw for headlight bulb replacement and it was done, but our tailight did not work when we pulled out. So we brought it back for them to check, service said it need replacement and it will cost $500. It was functioning fine b4 we brought the car in. I know in my mind they were not honest. So we too it to another bmw shop for 2nd opinion, well, we found out don jacobs service unplugged our tail light and charges us to to fix it for $500. Wow, what a crooked. So watch out. I work hard for the money and i font give it away that easy.

03/2015 I purchased a 2009 BMW M3 coupe. Patron Hatcher was the salesman I worked with to buy this vehicle. Living In VA Beach I was kind of worried on buying it because it was out of state, but this is coming from a reputable dealership so I believed and trusted everything that Patron said about the vehicle. He stated there were no dents, dings or major scratches, that was a lie! Vehicle was in a minor collision, he stated that all panels and body work are aligned and colors match, that was a lie! My front bumper, fenders, and hood are all different color whites! Patron is a fraud, a con-man, a liar. He will tell you what ever you want to hear just to make the sale. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS SALESMAN!

I visited the dealership on 11/7/2015, I was supposed to meet with a salesman once I get there I'm immediately pawned off to someone else. This guy treats me like I'm stupid doesn't even let me see the car that I am interested in before he starts running numbers and talking numbers. When I find another car that I like I test drive it to check it out and the whole time he's hovering over me like I have no idea what I'm doing because I'm a woman. I was highly insulted. Had no answer from finance, he told me he would contact me that Monday only to never hear a word from the dealership. I ended up going down the street to another dealership who gave me exactly what I wanted at the right price with no low ball on my trade. I will never go back here nor will I recommend them to anyone.

We've bought several BMWs from Don Jacobs and though the service throughout the buying process was wonderful, the service we receive through the service department is the real reason we come back. We actually live closer to other BMW dealers, but drive out of our way to come to Don Jacobs.I specifically request Robbie Slusher when my car needs serviced. He's professional, friendly, and has an exuberance about him that actually makes being in the service department enjoyable. Throughout the time that I've known him, he's quickly gone from acquaintance, to a friend, and now to family. He treats us much better than we probably deserve & works so hard to keep an energized atmosphere within the dept. I would HIGHLY recommend him as your next service representative. He's smart, knowledgable, and works diligently to provide updates regarding your service. We love him and would ultimately go elsewhere if he ever decided to leave.

Experienced a water pump issue while en route to Virginia from Indianapolis. Tim was there with us from start to finish and had us on the road first thing the next morning (much to our surprise), even though we brought the car in just before close.Thanks to Tim we only missed half a day of riding. We live 4 hours away from the dealership . Lance is so accomodating when we have to bring our car in for service or minor repairs. He always listen to our concerns and No is never an answer. He gives us a car immediately and call us immediately when car is ready. Lance is very knowlegable about each car we have ever driven. He even shows us new things on our car each visit. I recently purchased a pre-owned car from Kenny Cross at Don Jacobs in Lexington. Kenny was recommended to me by a friend who recently purchased a car from him. My sales experience was absolutely wonderful. I called the store and asked Kenny to see a very specific vehicle listed on the company website. Kenny had the car ready for viewing immediately after arriving to the dealership. After the test drive, he showed me the cars features, paired my cell phone for bluetooth, and even set my home navigation screen. The entire expereince was wonderful and defintely stress-free. I could not be happier with my choice of car and how Kenny treated me. I will definitely purchase my next car from Kenny Cross and Don Jacobs.

Arrived at the dealership to drive a car at 12:34, the sales person didnt have it ready, kept us buisy till it was ready to test drive. I test drove the car at almost 1:00 pm. Liked it and then tried to get the loan through our frozen credit due to Anthem "breech". Put almost $2000 down on the car and waited. Left the dealership to pick up kids from school at 1:54pm because it took them that long to tell us about the freeze. Got the credit unfroze for DonJacobs to use. Picked up kids at 3:21 pm. Drove back to dealership almost an hour away, over half way there get a text to not come back for "several" hours. I texted we would go to the movies, also my husband would need to unfreeze the account for the bank they used and give them access. The dealer texted back he didnt need it. Movie ends, we occupy kids, go back to the dealership at 7:30pm! Our sales guy was gone. They needed the code after all, would not give me my money back, let us take the car home at 8:36 pm. We unfroze the account again, costing us $20! Its the next day and 9am 3 hours till24 hours later and still no call. This is an honest response, they have offered us no discount on the car either for all our trouble, just let us drive it home. I am definitly having second thoughts about this place. I would not recommend it if you have a security freeze, they lack communication between employees and buyers. Bad customer service!

I do not drive a BMW .. I drive a VW diesel(s) and have for 35 years. I owned a VW repair service for 20 years and finally got out and sold the building in 2003. I buy new cars or "certified" VW's. Since closing my garage I return to the dealership for repairs and maintenance. I send my wife or daughter to the service area and the service reps call me for authorization and/or discussion about needed or preventive maintenance. At times my wife calls me and tells me what was done even if I did not authorize the repair I know it was needed otherwise it would not have been done. I trust my service reps; Merit, Brian and Eric AND the mechanic that works on my car(s); Kirby. My families relationship with the service advisers and our trusted mechanic has developed over the years. I trust these guys. The End.

Robbie Slusher, was very helpful. He had a loaner ready when I arrived and contacted me to update me on the progress of my vehicles repair. My car was washed when I picked it up and he followed up with me again a day later to make sure I was completely satisfied. We have bought several cars from this dealership because of the quality of people that they employ. I have dealt with everyone in their service department and I can honestly say they all appear to truly care about customer satisfaction. Everyone (except for Nate in finance who I did find to be very rude) is knowledgable, respectful, and courteous.

Ask for Robbie! Throughout my experiences and times of desperation he's always been nothing but helpful. The service I've received from him and the concierge was well over my expectations. My vehicle needed some service during the work week, so they were able to lend me a loaner car. When I picked my car up a few days later not only was it running smooth but the car was detailed, looking brand new. Definitely worth a repeat visit, let's just hope not in the near future.

I would like to express my complete disappointment with the Lexington Ky, Don Jacobs BMW service department. It took multiple days of trying to reach the service department to make an appointment for my BMW. I tried 2 times using my cars service connect and also placed multiple phone calls. Each time the operator would tell me there is no Service department member available. So I left messages and voicemails to have my call returned with no luck. After 4 days of not having a call returned which included a message that was supposed to be delivered to the service manager, I was able to finally reach someone to make my appointment.I was told that my appointment would take several days due to the nature of the recalls that needed to be fixed as well as some other minor issues. Due to the length of the service I was told I would be getting a loaner vehicle. I told the service department rep that I needed to bring my vehicle in a couple days early to drop it off since I would be unable to drop it off on the day of the appointment. They told me that was fine and that they would have a loaner ready. So I get there and drop my car off fully expecting a loaner vehicle only to be told I couldn't have one. The reason is that I was dropping my vehicle off early and they couldn't give me a car until the day of my appointment. This severely left me in a bind. This was in no way indicated on the phone when I made my appointment as I was told a loaner would be available. I had no ride home and now had to make other plans to get to work for the week. When I asked for a ride home since I was lied to about the loaner vehicle the service representative told me "Well, we can give you your keys back and you can take your car." I found this response to be very rude and highly unprofessional.Due to the unprofessionalism and being lied to, I can pretty much guarantee that my next BMW will not be coming from Don Jacobs. While I cant place any blame on the sales department, the rude way I was dismissed by the service department has left me feeling that my business and referrals are better suited for another BMW Dealer.

I must say I have never dealt with a worse service dept. in my life! Dan Trisko is only worried about quitting time and does not want to help you at all. He refused to give me his last name when I finally had had enough of his crap. He was sure to give me his bosses name though with no hesitation. Which was Joe Sullivan!! He was also rude and told me keep in mind that you did by a used BMW.. "A 2009 BMW X5 with 60,000 miles on it. Really!! So unless you by brand new and let them take advantage of you don't buy BMW! I will never ever by another BMW and I will never recommend DON JACOBS BMW to anyone. This dealership SUCKS!!

I have had my 535ix for 18 months and have been to the dealership several times for regular maintenance and for minor repairs of problems that I caused. Each time Robbie S. has been exceptionally accommodating, making sure my vehicle was turned around as quickly as possible, and communicating clearly during the vehicle stay. I had a great service experience at this dealership during a trip from our home in SC, when our car overheated on the interstate. Robbie went above and beyond getting our car repaired, set us up with a rental car so we could finish our trip and had the car ready for us to pick up as we passed back through Lexington, KY. I have used the dealership for many years. In all that time, I have always had very personal and friendly service. I am greeted by name when I arrive. I get a phone call with progress on my car and when I can pick it up. On a recent visit, I had an issue with the extended warranty company. Robbie worked very hard with the warranty company and really went to bat for me. In the end it all worked out and I was very appreciative of Robbie's diligence and patience as I got frustrated with the process.Great dealership and wonderful service department.

I have been an Old Don Jacobs customer for over 20 years, and I am long overdue in praising their service department. Both Dan Trisko, and Joe Sullivan in the BMW service department always go above and beyond to make sure that my car is fixed right and on time. In my last experience there, I needed my car back for a trip very early the next morning. I was not able to pick it up from the dealership, as it was not going to be ready until later in the evening and I had a previous commitment. Dan stayed late of his own accord and delivered the car to my house and picked up the BMW loaner I was driving. That is service! I always feel very well taken care of at Old Don's service department, and frankly, Joey and Dan are a big reason why I have been such a loyal customer. I know I can trust them, and that goes a long way in any business dealing. Thank you Dan and Joe for taking care of me and my beautiful car!

I had shopped around at other local dealers including Mercedes, Audi, and Lexus. The customer service andtreatment I received at Don Jacobs was far better than any other store. I was amazed at how arrogant the otherstores were. I don't typically respond to sites like this, but felt it necessary. For every 100 satisfied customers, thereis always 1 that you can't make happy. From my experience working with many different dealers in the several different cities where I have lived over the years, I have found that the folks at Don Jacobs are the best. I have worked with both the BMW dealership as well as the Honda dealership. Everyone that I have worked with is courteous, professional, and very customer service focused. I had the good fortune to connect several years ago with Grant Rizzo in Sales when he was at the Honda dealership and found him to be an outstanding sales professional. I was in KY for a horse show, my tire gauge alerted me to an issue. I went to Don Jacobs' service department, without an appointment, they checked my car and found a shard of metal in one of the back tires. They didn't have a tire in their inventory so called other tire suppliers in Lexington to find a tire for me. They were unable to locate one. At that point Michael started looking at the cars in the lot and they found the exact tire needed. Since it was going to take some time to make the switch Don Jacobs gave me a loaner car. The next morning I was able to pick up my car with all the necessary repairs completed. I drove home safely to IL thanks to Micheal's tenacity. This is the worst car dealership in Lexington or for Kentucky for that matter. The salesmen are arrogant and make fun of other customers. During a recent purchase of a brand new BMW, the salesman said he loved taking money from people from Eastern Kentucky because they don't care about money. The salesman was insulting, condescending and I should have walked away from this disgraceful dealership as it was my first brand new car purchase and while the car's okay, it has a stigma because their sales team is just awful. I have been searching for a 2003 BMW 525I, with low miles, for my family vehicle. I found a trade in at Don Jacobs BMW in Lexington, Ky and called Anrew Beavens, the manager at dealership. I was told this particular vehicle was just traded in from a gentleman from florida and was not serviced or detailed for sale yet, but I could come in to see it. I took off work on friday, drove a hundred miles to view vehicle. The vehicle was in good shape but dirty. I drove vehicle, had it taken to their service department, were I met with technician and Jason to go over repairs. I was given the print out of repairs, as well as the detailing, dent repairs and the bill of $1427.00 that they were allegedly spending on this vehicle ,before they sold it to me. The Price we agreed upon, was including the complete reconditioning of this vehicle, which was more than I had figured, but with the vehicle being in tip top shape, when they were done, would be worth it to me. I had already secured financing, called them on monday 03/28/2011 to verify my funds, as well as insurance coverage. I received a call on tuesday 03/29/2011 that the vehicle would be delivered to me Wednesday around 12;00 and Jason informed me that the mats were on order. I received the car at 1;30 on wednesday 03/30/2011 as promised. This is were their true colors came out. It had snowed that morning and the car was dirty when it arrived. I mentioned the mats to Jason and he again said they were on order. There was no temporary tag on vehicle but the original customers tags still on car. I wonder f he would be upset if he knew that his tags were still on being driven around by a stranger? Completely illegal in any state! I took vehicle home and washed it off to find that it was still filthy. The original mats had been cleaned and soaking wet, smelling mildewed. The alleged detailing, carpet cleaning, dent removal and touch up had not been done. The vehicle was in the same condition as the week before. I called Jason and he said "if I'm ever in Lexington the car wash is Free", Laughing! I now wonder if any of the alleged reconditioning had been done and took it to a local dealership. After inspection by another source I e mailed Andrew and he passed it off to Jason. Jason said my Temp Tag is in the mail and they would look at the dents if I come back there. I waited for this car to be completely done, so that I wouldn't have to go back again. Again, I paid for all of this up front! In closing, I would advise against trusting this dealer and I would drive out of my way not to do business with them. I guess they figure that since I'm out of state, they don't have to deliver as paid for. But with the age of the internet, I will do everything within my power to help any family spending their hard earned money, not to trust a dishonest group of individuals as this store.

The BMW service crew at Don Jacobs are simply outstanding. I've never encountered a more professional, friendly, helpful, and most importantly, dedicated crew who wants to make sure that my experience in their store is the best possible in all aspects. Making appointments is painless, pricing is fair (and usually covered), it's possible to get a temporary car or ride somewhere, they email or call when I need to be contacted, the facilities themselves have plenty of niceties from free Wi-Fi to beverages to daytime television. Service is lightning fast, so on my past visit I brought my work laptop and connected to read email and such until someone jogged out to let me know my car was ready. But just doing their job isn't enough - Dan, Joe & Lance always go above and beyond. In addition to running my car through the wash (and drying it), they noticed my gear shift knob was peeling badly.. and replaced it gratis. I had been annoyed by how it felt when I shifted but just let it go, but they guys would not accept that flaw, insisting on taking care of it. I drove my car off spotlessly cleaned, dried, serviced properly & promptly, and it felt much better as I changed gears - all of this after getting work done, refreshments, and time to chit chat about the latest in music & technology. The bottom line is this - there is no way on Earth my next BMW would NOT come from Don Jacobs. Even past the personable sales staff (yes, my seller from years ago, Johnny Smith, STILL remembers my name and always takes time to say "hello" and ask about my wife & I), the service department there makes me feel like a VIP no matter how big or small my issue is, from a flat tire to regular maintenance. No one really wants to take their car in for service, but at Don Jacobs the experience couldn't be more pleasant and nonintrusive. Best of the best, I see myself being their customer for a long time. My car is an older model (a 1990 325iS) and I have not had good luck with independent shops, who seem to lack both the parts to fix the car and the expertise to properly diagnose it, so I prefer the local BMW dealer, Don Jacobs BMW. I've worked with all 3 advisors (Dan, Lance and Jeff) and they're all very knowledgeable and friendly. Don Jacobs is not the cheapest, but I do get the car serviced properly without any issues afterword. The Don Jacobs web site usually has a coupon for discounts, so that helps with the pricing.

The process took a little longer than we expected, since we had traveled from Elizabethtown, but it was a pleasant experience, thanks to David and his humorous outgoing personality. When it is time for my 5-series' routine diagnostics check, I know I can rely on Dan Trisko. The service is excellent, thorough, and not time- intensive. Dan comes off as one of the friendliest representatives at Don Jacobs, but he is also well-informed, charismatic, and available to answer any of my questions; whether I am on the road or at my home. It is if he takes the time to remember everyone personally, something that many customer service reps no longer practice in this fast-paced society. For that, I applaud Dan and the high-quality performance that Don Jacobs BMW continues to carry today.

It seems that only dissattisfied people post on these sites. I would like to put a vote of support for the Staff at Don Jacobs BMW. My 1st BMW was purchased thru the overseas military sales program from a dealer in Bahrain. The Vehicle (2006 X-3) was delivered to Don Jacobs and the staff particularly Gary Joiner treated my wife with the utmost respect and courtesy. (Keep in mind during the delivery I was in Afghanistan) They treated her and the vehicle like they sold it. Gary took the time to explain everything on the car and introduce her to the Service department. He also conducted follow up calls to ensure everything was alright. His attention to detail and professionalism led me to lease a 2nd BMW (2006 330i) from the dealership. Once again very impressed with the dealership. Gary also conducts numerous calls to follow up, sends birthday and christmas cards in short he provides a level of service you would expect after the purchase of a car costing over 40k. I have recently traded the 06 330 in and now have a 09 335xi. Once again the sales experience was professionally conducted. Any review would be incomplete without mention of the service department. Joe, Lance, and Dan are very competent and easy to work with. Since most maintenance is covered I have seen them several times a year over the last 4 years. The 330i performed like a dream and only went in for oil changes and a tire replacement. (Yes I purchased the tire insurance) The 335xi we have had a few issues and they were handled. The car spent a few days at the dealership but I had a loaner vehicle for the duration of service. A service department is a source of revenue for a dealership and yes I was offered services in addition to the ones covered under the BMW maintenance plan. These services were priced comparable to other service centers that work on BMWs(Motorsports, Stugartt). They are optional services key word optional they were offered but not shoved down my throat. In closing let me say this. I will purchase my next BMW from Don Jacobs I think that says it all

I have had my BMW 330I in for several warranty repairs. The services department had made fraudulently claims on 2 occasions. Once was for a 500$ front brake job which was not need for another 40000 miles later. Second was for front control arms for 500$ which I had an second opinion made at the BMW store in Ohio and they stated the repair was not needed. My other experience were rude sales staff slow services even when they are not fraudulent.

I bought an 06 3 series CPO from them before I moved to Fresno. It took me two days to work out the deal but I was satisfied. Kathy was the sales person that helped me and I have been happy with the sales service. The finance guy was pushing the extended warranty pretty hard so that was the only thing I didn't like.

Service is good. Lance Smallwood is great to work with in the service dept. But that is the only asset this "Mom and Pop Shop" has going for it. We have bought...1 BMW used, 1 new BMW right off the show room and 1 used Cadillac. Being young and not knowing much about the shady car business I had no idea. I wont go into the stories I have. TRUST ME! We drove to Louisville BMW walked off the lot with our third BMW. NEVER WILL I BUY FROM THESE GUYS AGAIN. I only go to do our service work which is covered by BMW. My partner and I both work for the largest employer of Fayette County I have lost these guys more business than they ever know. Just drive up the interstate to Cincy or Louisville and you will be treated with respect.

I wanted to sell my BMW roadster and not purchase another car. I called Don Jacobs BMW and ask for the used car manger. Mark took my call and said to come in next week and he would give me an appraisal of the car, they are looking for nice cars. In the next few days I had the car appraised at two other dealers, one a BMW dealership and the other an Audi Dealership. When I get to Don Jacobs on Wednesday, Mark isn't willing to look at my car unless I give him a price I'm willing to sell it for. After I give him a price, he looks at the car and gives me a price. The price is $4500 LESS than the other BMW dealership and $3500 Less than the Audi dealership. Needless to say, I didn't do business with DON JACOBS BMW.

Signed a lease on a 2004 325i. Chad (salesperson) refused to offer a discount above $500. I agreed because, at the time, I wanted the car. Kathleen claimed that GAP insurance cost extra on the BMWFS lease, and required me to take a $495 Tire Protection plan in order to get this insurance, which is actually included at no charge in all BMWFS leases. On top of the significant profit they made on the car, Kathleen (F&I) attempted to mark up the lease rate by the maximum amount allowed by BMWFS. She also attempted to write the lease for 12,000 miles per year, even though it was priced for 15,000 miles per year and clearly noted as so on the sales sheet. Once (I thought) the paperwork was finalized, they informed me that they forgot to add sales tax in the lease and I would need to sign all new paperwork. I informed them that I had returned home (2 hours away) to visit my parents, and would come by when I got back into town. I was informed that a courier was enroute (without my approval), and would be there within two hours. I had other things to do, so after waiting two hours, I left, and Chad was advised to get in touch with the courier and have him return to Lexington. That never happened. When the courier did arrive, he badgered my mother to sign MY name, without attempting to verify that she had the authorization to do so (she didn't)--he simply told her it would be okay. Since I was beyond mad at this point, I spoke with my counsel who advised me that they did not have a valid contract due to the lack of my signature, and assured me that my mother was not responsible because she had been deceived by the courier. I tried to set up an appointment with Don Jacobs (General Manager), but was unable to get through to speak with his secretary. I contacted Scott (Sales Manager) the following morning and, upon hearing that I had spoken with my attorney, he offered to take the car back. This was the most gracious anyone at Don Jacobs had treated me. I agreed to return the car. This was the worst car buying experience I have ever endured... BMW is the world's greatest car company, and I expect a lot better of their dealer network than what I received at Don Jacobs.

I took my Olds Silhouette Van in for problems that we were having with the engine (under warrnaty). They could not replicate the problem so on the SECOND return for this problem, I offered to take the service person for a ride to demonstrate the exact problem. This worked well; HOWEVER, they then wanted to CHARGE me for the cost of taking the tech on the drive to show them something they could not find with their computers!!!! After much arguing and total disbelief that they would try to charge for something like that, I no longer deal with them. They are a poor example of what GM service should be ... who cares about the apples anyway!!

problems with new 2001 330ci. 12 unreturned phones calls with promises to call me back each time. It has been 8 months without one single return phone that was promised each time. other issue: it took 3 trips to get a convertible top fixed. Promised a
bmw loaner to drive, given a
Geo Metro with no air conditioning in 90 degree heat. They love to sell and make promises but do not like to take care of you when there is a problem.
