I worked with Michael Carrero and he was very insightful and presented me with some great options while being conscientious of all my needs. He was very positive and provided great follow up with assisting in registration and lease terms. I was at the Nissan dealership last year, sat with Victor and decided it was best to hold off a little more on trading my vehicle. I went in last week, not expecting Victor to be there but asked for him. He remembered every single detail I shared with him the year prior. This was the best part of my visit. I went to four other dealerships before I went back to Victor, and they all seemed in a rush and only about getting their deal. I liked that Victor, Mark and Benny all took their time to sit with me, listen to what I was looking for and explained every detail on leasing my new vehicle. I appreciate everything you all helped with, and to the rest of the team who kept my little one entertained.

Just got my third vehicle from Commonwealth Motors. This is my first lease and I am very happy with the vehicle and the negotiating experience. Worked with Mark Bernier again and Chris Leblanc. Very low pressure, no bait and switch like other reviews have mentioned. I went in looking for one car but they showed asked if I wanted to look at another one that I thought I would not be able to afford. I went with the one they showed me after they gave me quotes on both. I could not afford the original quote given, but we worked out deal that my wife and I were comfortable with. We ended up with a nicer vehicle than we originally went in for for the same price.From reading some of the negative reviews, it sounds like those people do not know how buying a vehicle works.Mark and Chris were great. I will definitely be going back when looking for a new vehicle.Thanks once again.

I was in need of immediate service last Friday and called and spoke to Gary. Within 5 minutes he called me back and had service lined up for me. By the time I got to the dealership Heather had all of my paperwork ready and they had a shuttle set up for me to get back to work. Heather called me with the exact amount of the repairs before anything was done and with my approval the work was completed within an hour. What I thought was going to be a nightmare was the easiest experience. Heather and Gary were so nice, personable and professional. The shuttle driver was great too, enjoyed chatting with him.

I found my car online, 2012 gti. Price point was excellent, car was clean rode well. My complication was poor credit and only a trade in as down payment. From the moment Jeff greeted me shook my hand I could tell this wasn't your typical salesman. I told him the car I was interested in, in a matter of minutes a plate was on the car and Jeff and I were off on the test ride. We discussed the car and our mutual love for vw's at no point was I under the feeling that I was being pressured into anything or that it was a take it or leave it type of deal. We essentially drove the car around the block and back. When it came time that i was ready to deal on the car Jeff made every effort to get me into the car. Working with the finance department, sales managers, and trade in guys. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and helpful, but not in a way that any of the pleasantries felt fake. Even after the deal was done, Jeff followed up via phone call, and even text message and allowed me to ask him any questions I had even during his off hours while at home. You can't put a price on that type of genuine care and service. I felt like I was on top of world after leaving from buying the car and that feeling has not left me, from pickup and even just today I brought the car back for a couple minor issues and all of the staff, especially Jeff, can't be commended enough on their level of service. I will continue to be a customer of yours and will recommend you to anyone who is interested in a vehicle new or used in the future. 3 years ago I was fortunate to land Jeffrey Mercedes as my salesperson to help me with my leasing purchase of a Tiguan. He was extremely helpful and sensitive to my dilemma about leasing or not . I remember now how thorough he was helping me navigate the different operations from the Passat I traded. This month , as my lease was about to expire , I returned to Commonwealth to consult with him but he was off that day; I ended up purchasing a new Jetta anyway. I have had to go back for additional help to understand how to operate the radio and other concerns , and it has been Jeffrey who has volunteered , unsolicited, to help me .He is an asset to this service center.

I have been using this dealer for the maintenance of my 2006 Passat (2 years). The hourly rate is identical to the regular garage down the street. For the same price I am getting factory trained technicians and warranty. I have always dealt with Mark Defrancesco. He is very honest and explains all the suggested repairs. I really like that he understands that it is a 10 year old car and never tries to push me to do unneeded repairs. Always gives me a great price as well. I am in and out the same day with great shuttle service to and from work.

Took my 2014 VW Passat in for it's 20,000 mile tune up on December 12th. I had called the day before and no appointment was needed. I took the car in and they had done the job in less than an hour. I picked the car up and it was running wonderfully as usual. They made sure I was happy with the service and of course, I was.

Tuesday night before Thanksgiving my Beetle was making weird noises, I drove to Commonwealth and left it at night drop knowing Wed was day before holiday and I had no appointment. I left note I was off Friday so Friday I called to see if they could look at it and to my surprise it was DONE ! I mentioned another small issue I had and they took care of that as well. Best service ever!

I've bought about 15 cars and this was by far my best experience with any dealership. I totaled my last car I was in love with and was referred by a friend to Dennis Millman. I was looking for very specific vehicles to meet my needs. Dennis found me exactly what I wanted. It took a couple days longer than expected to try and get financing because of my shakey credit. Dennis got me a loaner car so I didn't have to go without a vehicle from their rental facility on site. (this is and awesome service that most dealers don't have available to them). I have a very busy schedule and work about 45 min away. As soon as the car was ready Dennis had Manny Cintron deliver the car to my work and drive the rental back for me!!!!! I was BLOWN AWAY by how far they went out of their way for me. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I highly recommend Dennis and his sales staff. I will never buy a car anywhere else again and have reffered everyone I know to him since. PS: I had an alignment done somewhere else and they broke a part on my car making it unsafe to drive. I called Dennis and he immeadiatly had me come drop the car off and got me into another rental...I was blown away. He introduced me to Reggie Miller in their service department. Reggie had me up and running with in one day with the part fixed and explained everything that they did in detail. This to me was very reassuring to know since I knew what the problem was, how it happened, and how it could be avoided in the future. Nothing is more frustrating than a mechanic just telling you your car is broken and you need to give them tons of money. It was a cheap fix and I was extremely happy to be back in my car that quickly. Reggie is a true assett to the commonwealth family.

We just purchased 2 new VWs from Commonwealth VW. This was our 4th and 5th cars we purchased from them. They make buying a car fun and easy. At first the cars we wanted ended up not being in our budget range. But they have a huge inventory and their sales staff knows that inventory to the detail level. Before we knew it they had two cars that were almost everything we wanted and were within our budget range. The reason for this was not just the cars. The sales staff worked on the pricing until it met our needs. High marks for Commonwealth.

After going to other dealers, I ended up at Commonwealth since their prices online were the best and also because they were affiliated with the USAA Buying Program that offers discounted prices. The entire process was easy - and almost fun - credited mainly to my salesman Jeffrey Mercedes. He was very knowledgeable and listened to my concerns. He provided lots of options and ended up getting me in the car I truly wanted. I can only speak for the VW division, but would recommend this dealership to anyone. The atmosphere in general is beautiful, immaculate and contemporary. The sales manager Dennis Millman was very personable and helpful as well.

Overall not impressed with the dealership. Everything was either average, or below average. Short test drives, overly loud music, low ball pricing on trades with an effort made it seems to waste time. I wouldn't believe the majority of reviews on this website as they offer gift cards for positive reviews. The only reason I actually purchased a vehicle from them was because A) they had the only vehicle that had what I was looking for within a few hundred miles, and B) By the time I'd changed my mind, unfortunately I had already signed a purchase agreement, and they refused to give me my deposit back. Oh well, I enjoy the car, I just would never do business with them. The cookies they send after you purchase a car though is a nice touch.

Holly Setiadi, the Sales Assistant who sold us our new Jetta TDI SEL was wonderful. He was not a typical car salesman; very low key. He answered questions but did not push us towards a car. He let us take the time to make our own decision, but was there to answer questions He was very good about communicating with us over the phone rather than having to spend time at the dealership, and patiently answered all our questions. We ended up making the purchase within a few days of our test drive, and Holly made our overall experience very comfortable. As an added bonus, we have free service for a few years and FREE CAR WASHES for as long as we own the car. It's a small thing, but it really made us happy. The Financing portion of the evening was painless and we were able to get through the paperwork very quickly.We shopped around at different places, but ended up with Holly because he was the most helpful and flexible when it came to fulfilling the requirements we had in mind for our car. Thanks Holly!!

Bought a car on my second visit to Commonwealth. Had the extreme pleasure of meeting Jeff Mercedes on my first visit when I was "just looking" and not really sure what I wanted. After making the dealer rounds and being totally turned off by the impolite treatment I went right back to Commonwealth to make the purchase we from Jeff. I contacted them regarding a pre-owned car on thier lot, and then went to thier lot to take a look see. The car had everything but 1 amenity that I need, and also the car had 142000+ miles on it. Upon starting the engine, I could hear a knock in it. At that point, the salesman Josh advised me that the car was being sold (as is). The car was a Mercedes and these cars can last up to and surpassing 300,000 miles and more. Dennis, the Mgr, suggested I consider leasing, which still didn't work for me as far as the numbers go. Then I went back home. a day or 2 later, the MB is still listing for sale. I called them again and spoke to Dennis, who advsed me the Benz was at a Benz dealer for service and he would call me upon it's return to thier lot in a day or 2. 3 days go by, I call them up again, Daniella answers the phone, I ask about the Benze, her boss tells her the car is no onger for sale because it doesn't meet thier standards! If that as true, then WHY was is shown to ME to begin with! Daniella told me that her Mgr advised the car was sent to auction! Thier salesman Josh was very professional and attentive to me during my visit there. The dealership owner and his family could use a lesson in credibility.

After being referred, I bought my first brand new car here and couldn't be happier! The costumer service was outstanding and they found me exactly what I was looking for! Everyone I talked to at the dealership was very knowledgeable and never once did I feel pushed or pressured to have to buy a car. They took the time to make sure what I was getting, was exactly what I wanted and the price couldn't be beat elsewhere. After having read 1 specific bad review of Daher's place from awhile back, I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. I went to take a look at a pre-owned car that was selling for a grerat price, a high end car that had the engine light on. I was there 1 week ago. now just a few days ago, I spoke to Dennis Millman, the owners son-in law, who told the car in question was at another dealership for specific repairs, and he would call me when the car was back to thier lot for me to see it again and test drive it. Dennis never called me back. Now today, 1 week later, after the same car was in the shop, they tell me that the car is no longer available for sale. I asked why, I revcieved no answer. Sadly, Dennis Millman gave me a great offer for my trade to begin with. I'll be taking my business elsewhere hopefuly to more credible dealer.

I went to VW with the intention of buying a newer used car that was safe and reliable for my family.. I have never bought a car from a bigger dealership like this before and can not explain how glad I am to have dealt with the wonderful staff at Commonwealth, especially the sales associate, Robert. My overall experience from the extended warranty that was misrepresented during the sales process, then having repairs approved that in itself proved to be a lengthy process the 1st time I had my vehicle serviced which then turned into a 1-day repair into 1 week repair as the service department could not get the parts on a newer vehicle. My second experience turned into the service personal bad mouthing the warranty company - so two components a product misrepresented when sold and a product/company difficult to deal with when getting service repairs approved with the car owner left holding the bag without a car and costs.. Stay away from extended warranty - if I had known I would have never purchased my Volkswagen or a Volkswagen at all.The constant calls associated with your service would make one believe that you're receiving quality service but these just added to the frustration given the problems I encountered. When I asked the service people that called what the issue with the car was in both the first and second incident the could not answer what the problems were or problems with the extended warranty company approval process were or what I could do to intervene to resolve.On receiving the car, the car was dirty, granted dirty going in, but it would be a nice touch to remove the greasy boot marks and finger prints from the interior and exterior. Everything in the car was mis positioned - the seat, mirror, radio, etc. I felt whomever test drove it or worked on it felt it was their car and could leave it adjusted for themselves.For some reason the rear cowling on the trunk was cracked - not sure how this happened - I'll let this pass but there were fresh marks on the trunk but since it was brought in for steering issues one could only guess one this.To sum up both experiences - not happy and I dread having to repeat bringing my car in that I'm forced to do due to the questionable extended warranty packages that Commonwealth represents and sells to its customers.

I visited Commonwealth over the holiday weekend to shop for a beetle convertible. Jeff was extremely helpful, and patiently answered all of our questions. He knew the monthly payment I was willing to make and he worked hard to make it happen. Jeff promised that they would have a blue denim with black interior and exterior located by Tuesday, and Tuesday morning I received a phone call that it was on its way to Commonwealth. He even washed and gassed it himself so that I could take it home on Wednesday (earlier than planned). Jeff's professionalism and great personality made purchasing the car a stress free experience. I will happily recommend Jeff in the future to anyone I know looking for a car.

Bringing your car in for service? Think again. I will keep this basic and to the point. First off I do want to acknowledge that the dealership has a good sales team. The service center is definitely the opposite. When I had my car in for a clutch replacement under warranty, they told me 3 days. It took them a week. The disappointing part is that they never updated me on the delay. I always had to call to get information after the 2nd day it was in the shop. On top of that they washed my car without my consent. Its not that I mind the car wash but if someone is going to do it they should do it right. Whoever washed the car actually was scratching the dirt into the paint and the trim pieces and now it is all scuffed up. Initially they offered to correct they issue and after multiple attempts they were un able to and then denied responsibility of doing damage to the car. Also they still have not followed up on replacing some trim pieces that were promised. I am extremely disappointed with their service as it cost me a lot of lost time with no resolution. Mark the service manager is very misleading and I would not trust whatever he tells you. I stopped recommending my friends and family to buy and service cars at Commonwealth motors. I will now recommend people to herb chambers and kelly for any future service or vehicle purchase.

I recently returned to VW to lease my second vehicle from Commonwealth Motors of Lawrence, MA. I was pleased to see that Jeffrey Mercedes was still with the dealership as my first experience with him had been excellent. I wanted to lease a VW CC after driving a Passat. I loved the Passat, but I was ready for a larger car with a bit more power. CC delivered on those desires and more. Jeffrey was again a pleasure to deal with - from the test drive, through the financials, to closing the deal, to final delivery, Jeffrey was a true professional. He even travelled to my place of business to obtain some last minute information to facilitate a quick delivery of the new vehicle. Jeffrey was an expert in all aspects of my vehicle and patiently answered all of my questions while showing me some of the details of the CC during delivery. Jeffrey knows his product line inside and out and his pleasant manner and commitment to my customer satisfaction was evident throughout my experience. My family has driven luxury automobiles for a long time and we have dealt with many sales representatives from BMW, Infinity, and Merecedes Benz..Jeffrey is the best sales person I have ever met. I will add that the entire staff at Commonwealth is outstanding, Mark Bernier was my Finance Manager and did an excellent job facilitating a quick final closing on the lease agreement explaining all paperwork in great detail that was easy to understand. The Commonwealth Service department is consistently superb and responsive as well. For my new CC, they (Chris) were very attentitve over the most recent July 4th holiday weekend to complete the initial MA state inspection in a very timely manner. I highly recommend Commonwealth VW to anyone in the area interested in purchasing/leasing a new or used Volkswagon.

The process was fun thanks to Jeffrey. The process from beginning to end was organized. I was given the time and help I needed to fill out forms correctly. When Jeffrey needed to spend time away from the desk, he told me how many minutes the process would take. There were several things I needed to remember to do. Those things were repeated. Mark had the paperwork ready to sign when I entered his office. I enjoyed light conversation while signing quite a few papers. You could say I felt more like a valued person than a sale. Jeffrey washed my car and together we transferred the contents of the car chatting all the time. I met one more manager before leaving. "Say Hi when you bring the car in." I walked into a volkswagen dealership looking for a used car on a whim, I was greeted by a very friendly and polite man named Josh. My original intention was to finance an older used car, the problem with that is I would always be worried about the car breaking down or something other I could not foresee, but I was sure that was all I could afford on my budget. I explained my situation to Josh and he opened my eyes about all the different things commonwealth could do for me while making it affordable, he walked me through a few different dealerships to find me the best price and had answers to all the questions I asked. After finding the right car for the right price he stayed late day after day to make sure everything went smoothly to get me in my new car as fast as possible. Now thanks to Josh and all the amazing staff I met at commonwealth I am driving a brand new Civic, a car I know is safe and reliable (a big load off my mind) while staying comfortably within my price range. I could not be happier with all the service and opportunities that were provided by Josh. I have been telling my friends and family that if you are looking for a new car he is the guy to talk to. Knowledgeable, honest, friendly and polite. What more could you ask for?

We did our homework and went shopping for a 2014 Passat TDI SEL Premium during the TDI promotion. We live in Weymouth, so we started with a dealer in Braintree. They were ready for us but we was also ready for them. There was no way that any deal was going to happen. We then went to a dealer in Brockton. We came close to making a deal but the negotiation stalled. Their Internet Sales Manager actually insulted us via email a few days later. We then contacted a dealer in Medford and did everything over the internet. The numbers on the new vehicle were "ok" but the money offered for our trade was not fair. So...instead of giving-up, we went to Commonwealth VW and met a very likeable young man named Jeff Mercedes. Jeff greeted us warmly and with respect. We talked for a short while and quickly made a deal! There was none of the usual nonsense that most people go thru when buying a new car. People who own VW's are different. We aren't just "buying a car". We give them names and you can never have just one. It is truly helpful when your salesman understands that, and shares the enthusiasm for the brand. The experience could not have been better and we feel we got a great deal and a fair shake on a car that we like and a brand that we love. Commonwealth is true to their advertising and their business philosophy.

After dealing with approximately 6 VW dealerships in both NH and MA, Commonwealth VW certainly lived up to their slogan, Shop Us Last. I not only obtained the exact price I was looking for, but also was treated as if I had not just fallen off the turnip truck. Most of my buying experience was via the web. Chantal was very responsive with respect to pricing, obtaining the exact car required and ensuring that there were no hidden fees etc. Commonweath's document fee is amongst the lowest around and I was pleased that they were able to obtain the precise vehicle in record time from another dealer. Mark Bernier (Finance Manager) was very professional and exceptionally efficient in processing all the paperwork involving the car purchase and subsequent financing. Andrew Medeiros spent well over an hour with me going through all the various options available on the Jetta prior to driving it off the lot. Could not have been more pleased with the overall buying experience. Perhaps it derives from the family ownership concept prevalent at all Commonwealth locations. I recommend Commonwealth VW if you are looking for a competitive price and personable sales personnel.

This was my first purchase of a Volkswagen. I purchased a VW Beetle Convertible, looking for a fun ride. That is just what Jeff Mercedes delivered. He was so great to deal with and so personable. He worked out a 3-year lease payment that I could afford and then went over all of the great features of the convertible. I emailed about ten dealerships that I found online asking if any of them could help me to find what I wanted. the only criteria I said was a must was I wanted to put zero down and only pay $150/less a month, the brand, model, type of car did not matter, because it was strictly a second car that would be driven very seldom. I also said I did not care if it was a lease or a purchase. I am certain I made myself VERY clear of exactly what I wanted in my email. Of the ten dealerships I emailed ALL of them responded saying this was absolutely something they could do. I made appointments at the closest ones for last Saturday, and that morning I went to 4 different dealerships. I started in Tewksbury at Auto fair Nissan. My experience there was awful to say the least. First of all the person I had spoken to and scheduled the appointment with was not even at the dealership on Saturdays. I had to explain what I was looking for again and give the new sales rep all my info again. After waiting almost 45 minutes he came back offering to lease me a 2014 nissan versa (lowest model) for $3,995 down and $285/month- which was absolutely not any where close to what I had asked for. The sales rep was brand new and had no clue what he was talking about. He told me it costs about the same amount of money to lease or buy a car, and he also told me not to believe any of the ads I see online from dealerships offering low monthly payments and zero down- he told me in his exact words "Those ads are just lies to get business." After that statement I decided it was best to leave that dealership and never go back. the next two dealerships were not as awful as Autofair however both of those dealerships also lost my information, did not know I was coming and neither one could offer me anything in the price range I specified over email. After the third utter disappointment I almost canceled my appointment at commonwealth but I figured I would go to one more that day. i am do happy I did. Immediately upon walking in I knew my experience there was going to be different. First they did have an appointment scheduled for me and I actually met the person I had talked to the week before. She already knew what I wanted/needed so we did not have to waste any time doing that over again. My appointment was with Paula and immediately upon walking in she introduced me to eric beardman, the sales rep that would help me. He was great. He knew what I wanted and he didn't try to up-sell me or talk me into spending more money. He was honest and direct and I trusted him instantly. I have worked in sales my whole life so when I am approached by a typical sales rep with the usual banter I can instantly see thru it and it only makes me irritated. Eric did not do that. He was an excellent sales rep. I ended up getting the first car he showed me which was a volkswagen jetta for zero down and under $150/month- JUST WHAT I ASKED FOR!! and we were done with the whole deal in under 30 minutes. I was so happy and I also wished I had started at commonwealth instead of wasting hours at all the other dealerships that should have been honest from the beginning and told me that they could not meet my requirements. Bottom line is commonwealth got a new permanent customer and I now have a dealership that will be the only place that my family and I buy our cars. Trust me- check out commonwealth before any one else- Im living proof that no one can beat their prices, specials, sales or customer service. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!

This was my first time at Commonwealth, and I have only great things to say about them. Working with Devon Theroux was fantastic- his knowledge of VW was impressive and he's the ultimate professional. I'll admit we gave him a run for his money (my husband thinks of testing car salesmen as a sport) and Devon was patient with us and never waivered. In the end, we got a great deal and I'm very happy with my new Beetle! The followup from the dealership is also something I hadn't experienced before, even after buying two cars from a few other dealers in the past. The only complaint, and it's minor, is that I wasn't crazy about where the dealer decal was placed on my car- right in the middle of the back of the car, so I've removed it.

Our salesperson Devon was very friendly and created an atmosphere that was confortable for us so that we could look at the cars at our own pace and answered our question honestly and specifically. For a person that has only been in sales for such a short amount of times I think he was better than most salespersons we've seen so far. The negotiation process was enjoyable with just the right amount of tension and mutual respect and we were able to meet at a price that we both agreed on. Mark who is the sales manager at Common Wealth VW was very professional. Most of the sales managers that I've seen so far are very pushy and make things uncomfortable when they try to get you to sign for extra coverages. Mark was not this type. He suggested and just gave us time to discuss and think and respectfully understood what we decided and it made choosing very easy for us. Picking up the car and services afterwards was also great. We had to take our daughter's 2009 VW Jetta TDI manual in for a service. It had been rejected for its' state inspection due to a 'Check Engine' light that had been on. While it could have been easy to tell us that we would have to spend $800 to replace the Glow Plug computer, they kept searching and found a blown glow plug fuse which had been blown. They said that they hadn't seen that before, but they replaced it and they said that all systems were good to go!! Hallelujah! Thrilled that they found the less expensive fix for us and we are very grateful. We will definitely be back for future service! Thank you.

My experience at Commonwealth Volkswagen was simply outstanding from start to finish. After completing a sales inquiry online for a new car, Josh Palmieri followed up with a phone call in a relatively short time with all the information I had requested. Of all the dealerships that contacted me, Commonwealth and Josh was the only one to call with all the specific details and conveyed a sincere interest in answering my questions and earning my trust and business. Many of the other dealerships were much more focused on the approach of "just come on in" and we will take care of things when you get here. I was pleased to see this is not the approach taken by Commonwealth and their sales team. They legitimately want you to be happy whether it's answering questions on the phone or in person.Josh was extremely knowledgeable about Volkswagen and all the different models, in addition to this he knows all the product offerings throughout Commonwealh (i.e. Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen,etc). This is what buying a car should be. As I told them at Commonwealth VW, I am giving them not only my business but my highest rating in part because the other dealers were so bad. I had done my research and knew just what model and equipment I wanted. I emailed three dealers, two of which I had visited for a test drive the summer before. Paula Mattucci at Commonwealth got back to me immediately with a price list and answered all of my questions promptly and professionally and, most importantly, without any BS. Her price was thousands lower than the other dealers who were trying to offer me cars I didn't want (I have the feeling that they only half read my emails.) When I got back to the States (I had been teaching abroad for the school year) Josh Palmieri had the car ready exactly as I ordered it. Marc, was not trying to get us to purchase other warranties and went over all the paperwork with clarity. Do not take your vehicle there to be serviced - New to 60,000 miles of service visits - issues every time - I've never experienced anything like this before with the vehicles I've owned - minor issues but enough to cost you time and aggravation to life threatening ones lug nuts left loose on serviced tires - One time I had just had new tires put on the car - drove it 15 miles right to the dealership to have scheduled service - somehow a tire wall got slashed and they tried to blame it on me and or the company that installed them - I had to fight to get them to replace - and when they finally did, service manager made a point to tell me that because of their 'generosity that I was to not mention the incident when getting the follow-up service quality control questionnaire - fyi i lost a tire due to the lug nut incident - they accepted no blame and downplayed the seriousness of what could have happened... And were not at all concerned that they were loosing a customer and would be getting negative feedback. While I am not one to pay much attention to advertising, or take slogans seriously, Commonwealth can truly stand behind their "shop us last" moniker. I had made the rounds at several dealers, so by the time I called them I knew exactly what I was looking for. My first contact was with Josh on the phone who was remarkably candid and did not seem at all like a slippery sales guy. I soon was talking to Dennis and we were able to reach a tentative agreement over the phone- which no other dealers would do. When I arrived in person Jeff was great at highlighting product features and more importantly at helping me structure the deal to fit my numbers. Their was never any glossy sales pitch. The sales managers Dennis and Steve worked hard to track down my car and never tried to try any tactics I've seen at other dealers with last minute fees and costs to pad the bottom line. Devon was exceptionally polite, articulately answered all our questions honestly and could not have been more patient. I had just purchased a car 7 months earlier, a VW Beetle from Commonwealth that I loved. There was nothing wrong with the car itself, it was just me and some quirky personal issues you don' t realize about a car until you own it and drive it every day. The biggest issue was space. I discovered that I really wanted 4 doors, not 2 and found I needed more trunk room. I hated letting go of my sporty, pin- striped Beetle.However, after taking us on a test ride, talking out all our options with us and keeping his sense of humor about my indecisiveness, I finally made my decision after what must have seemed - to Devon - as the longest three hours of his life.I love my new Jetta with 4 doors and a bigger trunk! We took our 2010 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI in for its' 40,000 service. They couldn't have been nicer - we chose not to have the oil change since it had only been 5,000 miles since the last change. They called when they found a dent in the rim of one of the tires and said that if they rotated the tires, there might be a shimmy. We opted not to repair it on this visit and they were helpful with that decision. They apologized for the cost of the service, but we understood that this was one of the more major service visits. I walked into the Commonwealth Volkswagen dealership looking to information and specifications on the Tiguan. Josh Palmieri took the time to explain and answer all my questions. After reviewing my options, I decided that the best route for me was a used vehicle. There were two on the lot and Josh had me drive one (2010 model). After the test drive, I decided I would like this type of vehicle. Both vehicles were very similar, but I decided to purchase the other (2009 model). I asked Josh if I could drive this model before I actually decided to purchase. I just purchased a Tiguan from Jonathan Crotty. This is my second car I've purchased from Volkswagen. I mainly came back to this dealership for the excellent service I have been receiving for the past four years, especially from Sam Oliver. No matter when I want an appointment, the service department always accommodates me. They continually update me on when parts of my car will need replacement, always giving me notice so that I can plan ahead. The shop is beautifully set-up with coffee and snacks and a large screen television while you wait. Shuttle service to and from the Lawrence train station is a wonderful convenience when I leave my car during the week. Searched dealers for a quote for a new 2013 jetta sportswagon TDI. Commonwealth came back with the best quote. $1200 better than the original dealer I was working with. When I visited the dealership, they honored the quote with no questions asked even after it was clear they did not have the exact color we wanted and need to bring it in from out of state. Additionally they offered us 40% more on the trade than the orignal dealer. The transaction went thru very smoothly and there were no suprises. I would recommend everyone to try them last for the best price and service.

The bottomline is that my wife and I agreed that Commonwealth Motors will be our car dealership for life (I'll even bring my sons and their grand kids to get their cars from Commonwealth). There is a team chemistry at Commonwealth that is simply remarkable. At every level the service was professional, personal, compassionate, and most importantly fun. Each person had a critical role in this experience and we want to recognize the staff by name.Andrew J. Mercer-Medeiros. Andrew was our primary sales rep and he is an entrepreneur in the making. At a young age, Andrew is doing things that some people involved in business for many years have never mastered. First, he welcomed us with a warm and sincere smile (not the used car salesman smile that I've experienced at other dealerships). We were concerned about bringing the boys to the dealership during the signing process because we knew that they were a handful. We really appreciated that Commonwealth is a family friendly environment and we were never made to feel that the boys were a nuisance. We appreciated the love and concern that the staff, Jeffrey in particular, showed the boys.Ron Rondeau. Ron is a very intense professional (definitely type A personality) but he also showed us a lot of heart and compassion. We appreciated his efforts to get us a credit approval with Volkswagen even though our credit was less than stellar. He also explained the lease contract very carefully and we felt confident that we were entering into a lease agreement with our eyes wide open. This is the first time that we have ever leased vehicles and based upon our experience, we will definitely do it again. Ron also passed the toughest test-- my son Francesco loved to be in his office. Children are like dogs-- they can sense whether a person is good or not. Francesco's love of Ron communicated to me that Ron is a good soul.Dennis Millman. Dennis should teach a course on how to provide service. He always greeted us with a smile and always offered his assistance. Joshua reminds me of Ron Howard from the Andy Griffin Show and Happy Days: He brings a small town warmth with a wonderful sense of professionalism. Joshua assisted us in the last leg of the lease process by helping us get inspection stickers and provide additional information about the car. We appreciated his help in removing the cheesy white Commonwealth stickers and replacing them with the groovy silver plastic logos. Having a warm and smiling face at the conclusion of our experience meant a lot.As we stated before, Commonwealth Motors will be our car dealership for life. We forgot to mention a very important story. This is our SECOND great experience with Commonwealth Motors. In 2008 my wife went into early labor and she was pregnant with triplets. Because of the premature birth, we lost our girl and the two boys stayed in the neonatal intensive care unit for almost five months. We had to declare bankruptcy in 2010 because of the accumulated bills that our health insurance did not cover. We really appreciated that Commonwealth Motors was the ONLY dealership that gave us a fair deal on a loan for a 2011 Chevy Equinox. We had returned to Commonwealth Motors because we appreciated the staff's professionalism and most importantly their compassion.In the end, we should thank Mr. Charles Daher for building a truly great American company.

The financial person I dealt with was not very positive about the VW brand. I know he was trying to sell me an extended warranty however he told me that VW cars only fall in the middle of the ranking for reliability. He quoted Honda and Lexus (which Commonwealth doesn't even sell) as the most reliable cars out there. We started by contacting this dealer online to first get some information regarding a specific car in mind. They were the first to respond and answer all of my questions via email/phone. Left another local dealership/service center after years of faithful service because I was unhappy with the service. My family and I have bought 12 cars from that dealership in the last 12 years and they did not seem to value our longevity as customers. Was recommended to go to Commonwealth by a friend and had nothing but an amazing experience working with Riggie. He was able to find 4 RECALLS that I was never informed about with my other dealer, and took my long list of complaints and worked through them one by one. I still have some work that needs to be done that I have to get approved through VW themselves (as it was work that was complained about before the warranty was up but was never taken care of by the original dealer) but every single item Riggie was able to help me with, he did. I look forward to a new, long-standing relationship with this dealer and hope to bring my family's business here as well for future vehicle purchases.
