Terrible car buying experience

I had a terrible experience buying a car at this dealership. I negotiated the price of a 2016 Jetta online. I went in to test drive one on a Saturday, and they didn't have any automatics (I was told I would be able to test drive the kind of car I was looking for), so I drove a 2017. I liked the car, and was told they would be able to get a 2016 Jetta in the color I wanted, so I started filling out paperwork. After I had already signed a sales agreement, I was told they made a mistake and the car would be $500 more than the price we had originally agreed to. This is when I should have left this dealership. I got them to go down $250. We then waited over an hour to meet with the one person they have to go through the final paperwork. They tried to get me to agree to a higher interest loan than we had discussed until I told them I had a better interest rate somewhere else. When we finally left the dealership, I was told I would be able to pick up my new car on Tuesday (and possibly Monday). I checked in with the dealership on Monday, and Tuesday morning they said my car would be ready Tuesday or Wednesday. I had to contact the dealership again on Wednesday, and they said they still didn't have the car, but that I could pick it up Thursday. I was called Thursday evening and told the car wouldn't be ready until Monday. I talked to the salesperson (Mike), who said he was sorry but they were having difficulty locating a vehicle in the color I wanted. He said they would make it worth my while by giving me a free service. I sent a lengthy email to the GM about my experience. I was called by the general sales manager (Ian), who apologized for all of the issues and also told me they would do something for me for all of the problems. He told me that the car wouldn't be ready until Tuesday and that he wanted to meet me when I picked up the car. I finally was able to pick up the car on Tuesday after having to sign new paperwork because of the new VIN number. Ian was not there and Mike did not mention anything about free service. The car was not inspected, even though that was one of the fees I paid. They said I could come back again, but since the dealership wasn't close to where I live, I chose to get it inspected elsewhere. It took them 3 days to email me my registration (after multiple inquiries) and I also discovered that they overcharged me for the registration. I was eventually sent checks for the inspection fee and the overcharge on the registration. I reached out to Mike and Ian about the free service I was promised, but neither has gotten back to me. I would avoid buying a car from this dealership.

Great Service from Colonial VW of Westborough

I've been a customer of Colonial VW of Westborough for roughly 5 years now and have had nothing but a great experience. I purchased my car there and get all of my factory services done there. Everyone I walk into while there welcomes me and treats me very well. They are all friendly and helpful. Thanks to Billy McGrath, Ashley Shannon, John Lacey, and all of the other service advisors/department and technicians over the years my car has been running great. Currently at 310,000 miles and going strong. They tell it how it is and don't persuade you to get repairs you don't need. If it's worthwhile to hold off and see if an issue persists they'll tell you that rather than make you spend your money unnecessarily. They are very knowledgeable and I recommend everyone I know with a Volkswagen to give Colonial VW of Westborough a shot if they are having car troubles.

Over and Above...

The dealer overall is amazing... very customer friendly, attentive to detail, courteous, helpful. There was no pressure and in my case, the team went over and above to help me. This started with GINA who was uber-polite and accommodating. Jason Garrett is a top-notch salesPERSON ... again, no pressure, very helpful, quick to reply to questions via email or phone. And then Victoria... just perfectly helpful and professional and personable. I want to buy all my cars from them!

What a fantastic experience!

I recently bought a VW Passat from Colonial VW of Westborough and it was by far THE BEST car buying experience I ever had. From the initial interaction with Rebecca over the internet, I was able to come to an agreement on a vehicle. Though I live 1.5 hours away, it was a deal that no other VW dealer in my area could match.When I went to the dealership to sign the paperwork and pay for the vehicle, I met my salesman Pierre Saliba. He was great - taking the time to let me test drive the car along with showing me the many features of my car and making sure all my questions were answered. He was a true professional and followed through with everything he promised.Being from RI, Colonial VW agreed to deliver the vehicle to me at the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Woonsocket. On that day, Keith and Bill were right on time with a smile and many jokes. What could have been a trying experience at the Registry actually turned out to be a fun time. Keith was great showing me some additional features of the car as well.So, I only have great things to say about Colonial VW of Westborough and I would definitely purchase another car from them in the future.Thanks!

Great new car buying experience

Jay really worked hard and went the extra mile to make sure I was able to get the car I wanted, which happens to be a very hard to find car, at a fantastic price. I can't stress enough how much time he spent making the deal work. A fantastic experience, and why I keep coming back to Colonial Volkswagen. Mike Lodowsky was also instrumental in making the deal as the salesperson whom I always seek out to buy a new car. I've been to Mike the last two times I've purchased new. Great Experience!

I initially went to Colonial VW to have my 2011 VW Jetta serviced, but decided to explore new cars first to see what all my options were. I sat down with Stephen and we discussed what would benefit me most. Jay also got involved and the two were very open, honest and transparent about the entire process. At the end of the discussion, it was decided that it might be best for me to stay in my current car and explore getting a new vehicle down the road a bit. It turns out that I had more extensive and expensive repairs than I initially thought, so the next day I revisited the conversation and in a very short period of time, I was on my way to getting in a brand new 2017 Jetta. I was helped by both Stephen and Jay and they were nothing short of exceptional. They were always quick to check in with me and always available if I had questions. Great buying experience, highly recommended.

All around great experience!

I went in looking for a newer model Passat. The new salesman Ro did a fantastic job helping me find the car I wanted. After I decided on a car Ro and sales manager Jay sat down and worked out a great price with us. They seriously made the "hard part" as painless as you can imagine. The great service did not stop there. Once the car was settled on, I had time constraints due to my work schedule, and the staff did an incredible job meeting my tight availability. I showed up on the day to finish my transaction with it already registered and inspected ready to drive off the lot, with a lot of help thanks to the new finance team member Victoria. Definitely will recommend to anyone!

Great Service!!

Usually going to a dealership is a nightmare, but the experience with Stephen Sanchez down at west colonial VW was the opposite of that. Great service and a great deal!!

General Manager is a very unprofessional and rude

He was VERY unprofessional showing me other customer's account information on the computer in the back room (he took me "behind the curtain" as he called it. During the course of my visit he also used curse words and tried to belittle me when I decided to go elsewhere. Patrick Volkswagen is far superior and I'd advise anyone in the area to go there before Colonial.

Painless experience!

We had previously rated the new car buying experience right up there with a visit to the dentist for a root canal. Stephen Sanchez and Colonial Volkswagen of Westboro changed that for us. Stephen was able to answer all of our questions, and walked us through the various features and differences in the different trim levels we were looking at. Colonial had the lowest price around on both the model we came in to look at and the one we ultimately purchased.

Always a good experience

I have always had a good experience here when having my car serviced. I can almost always get an appointment on the day/time I request, and they are usually finished in less time than I am quoted. I have not purchased a car here (yet), but would gladly do so in the future.

Purchased A New Car

I recently purchased a new 2016 Passat SEL and am extremely happy with the car. The customer service at Colonial Volkswagen of Westborough is always top notch, everyone is so friendly and will attend to any of your needs. A special thank you to Stephen who was my Salesmen, he was so great to work with and was so patient. I test drove around 4-5 cars and came back to the dealership a few times to do so and he was happy to help each and every time. Stephen made the transaction that much easier, it was also really quick. I was in and out of the dealership in no time. I would recommend this dealership to anyone and everyone I know.

We have leased two Jettas through Colonial Volkswagen. This time around Jason was our salesman and he was great. Jay helped with the transaction and worked hard to settle our old lease. The best buying experience

Definitely the best car buying experience I have had. Super easy to work with, very upfront, and most importantly, honest. Pierre is a great salesman and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another car from him.

Straightforward, concise, and NOT pushy.

We had been shopping for a lease deal for a couple of weeks at various dealerships. We ended up at Vollswagon and it was by far the most normal and relaxing process. Jason didn't waste our time and worked with our budget. He was knowledgeable and gave great information but did not attempt to push us in any way. We recommend VW Westborough from Internet sales with Gina to onsite at the dealership with Jason! Once we decided on the car finance quickly worked with us to secure the deal and entertained our 4 month old as we signed the deal happy about our decision.

I came in with a pretty specific idea of what I wanted - lightly used VW Golf. Pierre helped me find exactly what I was looking for. He was quite transparent, patient, and informative. After I bought the car, the registration and financing process went smoothly. I had a great experience.

Best car buying experience from start to finsih!

Although I bought a brand new car, and have not had repairs yet on my newest VW, Jason effortlessly coordinated the installation of mud flaps and chrome tips to be ordered and installed prior to picking up my new car. I have also had good experiences with the service department in the past and they are the BEST service department I have ever dealt with. Every employee at Colonial is extremely professional and very easy to work with. I am very impressed with Colonial and want to commend them for making the buying process as the great as the cars are to drive!

I had a very positive experience working with Pierre on my recent VW purchase. Pierre was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely professional. Quick and easy

Just bought a new 2016 Jetta Sport from Pierre Saliba at Colonial VW of Westborough. I responded to a TrueCar price quote ($15,029!) for any in-stock Jetta Sport car, but by the time I got there the one on the lot had been sold. Colonial honored the advertised price anyway and got me exactly the car I wanted from another dealership at a ridiculously low price, almost $6,000 off MSRP. I couldn't be happier with the service I received and would gladly recommend Colonial to anyone looking for a new VW!

BAD SERVICE AND SALE

I have to say my experience with this dealer was the worst ever in my years of shopping for cars!!! I left the dealer today in tears, NEVER did I feel so betrayed and ripped off by dealer like today. Bob the service manager had me waiting 3 hours today, to tell me NO, I can't help you. I honestly would tell anyone to please have your car checked by someone other than this service department before purchasing any of their used vehicles. I was sold a new used car with tires that 3 months into my purchase, have to be changed bc they were to cheap and dishonest to replace them before my purchase. The worst part is that Bob the service manager told me today... "We replaced your brakes". Basically, in a nut shell, they sold me a car with tires that were old. I trusted they were in great condition. But they weren't...and know I have to deal with changing them. When I should be enjoying my new car with new tires. Hard lesson learned you can't trust NONE of these PEOPLE at COLONIAL VOLKSWAGEN!!!!! ESPECIALLY BOB who allowed a vehicle to leave the lot with not only an old cabin air filter but 4 old tires. They have NO CONSIDERATION for their customer and their satisfaction. ALL they care about is numbers and MONEY$$$$$$!!!!!!!HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP!!!!!!

Five stars all around. Buying a car is not something to take lately and if you want a professional, friendly environment where you walk away feeling like you got the best deal, come here. Jason answered all of the questions I had without me even having to ask them. Incredibly thorough. Also wanted to add that the line of communication is very great even after leaving the dealership.

We purchased a VWPassat from Colonial in Westbrough. Our sales person, Connor Bayliss, was professional, helpful, and friendly. Always treated in a professional way

I have been a long time customer at the service department of Colonial VW in Westborough. This time I came in to see if I wanted to upgrade my R32 to a newer Golf R. Steven approached me and we went over my car, the value, de used 2015 R on the lot. To my surprise no new Rs are available anymore form Volkswagen. Steven treated me in a professional way, honest and open. We did not make a deal this time, but I will keep an eye open for what is available at this dealership. As long as I have a VW, I will be a customer here.

My wife Jennifer and I recently were looking for a new Passat with a blend of performance, technology and fuel economy. I had initially decided to come to Colonial based on a friend's recommendation, and couldn't have had a more positive experince. On my recent visit, everything went perfectly. Connor was very helpful and worked with me with a high degree of patience and no pressure whatsoever. He served as a consultant, rather than a salesperson, and helped guide me to a great deal on a GTI that I am very comfortable with. I have the worse luck when it comes to buying cars. However, Mike Lodowsky and the folks at Colonial VW were amazing! Mike was truly the first salesman I felt that was honest with me from the start. I bought a Jetta back in Sept'15 for my son and Mike Lodowsky helped me even though it was his end of the day. He took us for a test drive and then made sure we where all set before he left. When it was time for me to get a new car this past April, I went directly to Mike. He showed me the different Passats in stock. I was looking for a SEL and since they didn't have one in stock, Mike worked with several other dealers to find me the SEL. Come to find out, the SEL is very hard to come by, but Mike and the folks at Colonial were able to get the car I wanted at a fair price. The service department is also very knowledgeable.

I had a really outstanding experience with Colonial Volkswagen of Westborough. I live in NH and had been thinking about getting a new car recently to replace my 2008 Eos Lux. I didn't realize they didn't make the Eos anymore, so then I started thinking about a beetle convertible and I came across the Beetle Denim that was just released recently. I only buy white cars and I love convertibles so it seemed like a good fit. I did an Internet search and ended up on truecar.com, and from there I chose the car I wanted, and from there it led me to Colonial Volkswagen of Westborough. Truecar also gave me the best price for the car with no haggling. Rebecca Cunningham from Colonial Volkswagen contacted me via email immediately after I submitted my inquiry and asked for my VIN and pictures of my Eos, gave me a ballpark price for a trade, I then scheduled a test drive. We decided to go Monday at 7PM. As soon as we got there Pierre Saliba was waiting for us so that we could test drive the car. He pulled the car up, put the top down, took a copy of my license, and we then got in and went for a test drive in the area. Pierre was a very nice guy and very easy to work with. He was very knowlegable about Volkswagens and he knew the area very well. When our test drive was over we went back to the dealer and gave them my Eos key so that they could appraise my car for a possible trade. That took maybe 10 minutes for them to come back with a price. I knew the value of my car and the bottom price that I wanted for my car for a trade, and I didn't want to go below that because I knew I could sell it relatively quick. After a few times times going back-and-forth and meeting with a manager, Eric Hofer, we agreed to a trade price, and the price for the new car, and after thinking about it a few minutes I decided to make the deal. The Truecar price didn't include any of the extra options the car had, so those did have to be added to the online quote, but Truecar also gives a discount on the options if you add them to the quote. That was the price I paid and no haggling was needed because it was a very good price. After speaking with finance (Kathryn Gear-very nice) and getting all the paperwork done we were out of there by 8:45 PM. Since I live in NH, they had to drive the car to me and meet me at my Townhall to register the car. They did this on Wednesday afternoon. Tuesday they had to detail the car and also put on the Simoniz Glasscoat that I had purchased. I then asked him if he could take a couple pictures of me with my old car and my new car. He took several. Bill was a very friendly and very nice guy. I then drove the car home and I called Pierre and he asked me to call him after I got out of work and when I was in my car so he could go over some of the features. Around 4:30 I called Pierre and he also went in a Beetle and he went over a lot of the features in my car. It was very helpful! He then told me I could call him anytime I have any questions about my car. Such a nice guy!My husband came home a couple hours later and noticed a ding on one of the fender sides -my heart sank! I sent Pierre a picture of the ding and he called me right away and said they would fix it and not to worry. They sent someone to fix it this week and now it's back to new! I was pleasantly surprised when I dealt with Pierre and Kathryn recently. Pierre was very likeable; low pressure, methodical, knowledgeable! He put the emphasis on customer service. I usually dread shopping for a used vehicle, but I can honestly say that dealing with the professionals from this dealership was a truly enjoyable experience. Great Purchase Experience / No BS

I wanted a new car but, like everyone, didn't want to buy unless the numbers made sense. I did my homework on the trade in value of my car (2012 Honda Accord) and decided that I'd go take a look at a GTI I saw on Colonial's web site. Stopped by the dealer on Saturday with no intention of buying a car - just wanted to see what the numbers looked like. Ended up seeing a 2015 Jetta GLI SEL on the lot at a big discount. Drove it and loved it. The hardest part of buying a car in my experience was the negotiation which surprisingly Connor and his boss made very simple. They gave me a good value on my trade without any haggling and explained what the current deals were with VW Credit for qualified buyers so there were no surprises. They are my local dealer and I felt comfortable and confident in agreeing to buy the car. Picked it up the following Monday and love it! Kudos to Connor and the staff at Colonial!

Colonial's price point on our preferred car choice that we obtained through Edmond's was the most competitive. We received full attention once in the dealership. We had an initial price goal in mind that was lower than the dealer's. We had expected to arrive at a compromise. The car we wanted was not in stock, they found one at another dealer to swap. Still, he met us halfway. He gave us our asking price on the trade-in. Overall, we felt that we got a fair deal without hassles. No pressure, honest negotiation, personable, matter of fact attitude, positive experience.

Service that surpasses Lexus.

After purchasing a new Golf from Colonial I was very pleasantly surprised by the care and support after the sale. Coming form a Lexus and a Lexus dealership it was incredible to find that the attention to customers and service here was FAR better than that at Lexus. The Ultimate Car Buying Experience

I was amazed by the customer service I received during the whole car buying process at Colonial Volkswagen. I had considered another car brand, but the dealership in Millbury I went to was an absolute clownshow (the absolute worst dealer I've ever dealt with). I also dealt with another VW dealer close to my house, but financially what they were offering me wasn't feasible. I decided to give Colonial VW a try. I inquired about a certain car (a Beige 2016 Passat) online, and shortly thereafter a gentlemen named Derek Paquette provided me with more information and pictures of the Passat that I was interested in. I met with Derek that same night to sign the paperwork. Derek was very polite, not pushy, and wanted to make sure that I was happy with my purchase. The showroom was very nice, and had a very laid back atmosphere. Eric Hofer in Finance got me a real good rate, with monthly payments that I could afford. On my delivery date, Derek made sure that all my accessories that I wanted were installed, and he throughly went over the Passat's features. Even though Colonial VW is 30 minutes from my house, I don't regret it. Derek, Eric, and Kathryn did a wonderful job during my car buying process (No hiccups). Thank you, Gentlemen. Best service and quality!!

I am so happy with my 2014 VW Jetta SEL that Derek got me into. My credit is not that wonderful and he promised he'd get me in the car of my dreams and he did. He has spent hours making things happen and even personally delivered my car 1.5 hours away (I live in CT) because I wasn't able to go pick it up. We cannot wait to come back in a year and upgrade our second vehicle. I came 1.5 hours away even though there are 2 local dealerships near me within 20 min because of Dereks extreme customer service skills. CONNOR B is the Salesman to SEE!!!

Connor, to put it simply, is THE BEST!... I was in service, never looking for a new car, I actually thought Connor was my service advisor telling me my car was all done in service. After months of searching for the right car I finally found it at Colonial Volkswagen! Derek was the most knowledgeable and personable representative that I have ever come across. This guy made everything possible. From the moment I made the appointment Derek made sure he had everything covered. A great, easy experience

Jason was very accommodating and patient as we test-drove four different vehicles late on a Thursday evening. The leasing process went as smoothly as possible and after a messy Friday snowstorm complicated the logistics, we drove out of there in a shiny new Tiguan on Saturday. We've been working with Colonial VW for a number of years, spanning three vehicles and have always been satisfied customers!

Worst Service Ever!!!

Bought a 2014 Jetta from them in 2014. Brought it in for it's 40,000 mile check up. That was great until they gave me a loaner vehicle that got a flat tire on the mass pike! I got towed because of the laws that cover the pike. Thankfully was brought to work by the tow company. I called Colonial to tell them what happened they said no problem. I then waited 2 days for them to get my car from the tow company! 2 days!!!!! They would not give me another lease because I already had one out in my name. It took the owner of the vehicle to call the tow company to get the LOANER car towed back to Colonial so we could get our car back!!! This is ridiculous customer service. I called multiple times to talk to someone and was even hung up on by John in the service center!! I NEVER thought I would be treated like this after buying a car from them! Then when we go to get the car, they charge us for a tire, the tow anddddd the service totaling $850. It went in to the shop because it wasn't running correctly and they COULDN'T find anything wrong with it. ?? No manager there on a Saturday to talk to, just to top things off. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO COLONIAL VW, EVER!!
