CDA Honda is a good one to stay away from

I bought a used car that was supposed to have gone through an extensive inspection by their shop. They should have picked up on the leaking radiator that I immediately had to replace at my expense. They also underestimated the licensing cost for Washington State so it cost me another $100 out of pocket on that one. My emails to their sales manager went unanswered but I did get a reply back from one of my contacts from the initial salesman. I won't buy another car from them after paying their full asking price and being met with these surprises soon after the purchase.

My experience was great at first then deteriorated from there out. I had a couple of requests that were not unreasonable and they were ignored. He actually professed how honest he was and then totally lied to me that he could no longer get Honda hats. All I wanted was a $10 Honda hat. I am in sales also and every purchase made with me they receive a free hat with our logo. I explained that to Terry that I would like to receive the same thing. Once the deal was done he no interest in holding up that end of the bargain. Its not the hat its the principal. When you say you are going to do something you do it.

I gave this rating because Terry Koenig was very open helpful and honest in working with me. He provided me with options. Because of his work with me I would return to this dealership. He made the process pretty easy.

Dog Gone Friendly!

Logan and Terry were very helpful in selecting the right car for "The Mrs.", Dexter and I.They made our buying experience "dog friendly". We fell in love with the Crosstour, but were concerned our yellow lab, Dexter would not have enough room with the seats up. Logan did some measuring and suggested I bring Dexter down for a test drive. I did and Terry greeted Dexter and me with smile and helpful attitude!

Chezaray was a breath of fresh air! She listened to what we were looking for in a vehicle, and was able to guide us to the vehicle that would meet our needs. Terrible customer service and problem solving,

We brought in our Odyssey that they had told us was fixed six months ago with an alignment change that they didn't charge us because they recognized it was their fault. When we brought it back six months later with the alignment so bad that it was causing baldness on our tires, they just turned it around on us and said we must have hit a pothole or something. There was never an effort to offer a deal, take care of tires etc. Definitely not a place I will ever go again and not recommend anyone to do so either. The one thing I can say is they were polite when talking to us.

Exceptional used car purchasing experience!

I had been stalking a used vehicle on the lot for a while and was hesitant to call or email about it because I was not sure it was what I needed and did not want to experience a high pressure sales pitch. When I saw it online and not in the lot one day, I called and spoke with Jeremy Reilly about it. He invited me to come in and I steeled myself for the experience, even having an appointment shortly after so I had a reason to leave. I arrived and was pleasantly surprised by Jeremy's genuine willingness to help me. When I told him that I did not think the vehicle was best for me and told him exactly what I wanted, he responded candidly, telling me that he really did not have a vehicle to match what I wanted at the price range I wanted to pay other than the one I had considered and decided not to look at. I asked to go ahead and look at the car. I was amazed that it had every feature I wanted. My concern about it being a two door went away when I realized it had nice substantial interior handles and the larger doors were not too heavy to operate easily as I had had shoulder surgery. I told him what I wanted for my trade in and the price I wanted to pay. He very quickly came back with a higher figure than I had asked for on my trade in, bringing the car I wanted into my price range. The whole process took place quickly allowing me to get to my next appointment and I felt great about the experience. Jeremy scheduled to meet with me again to acquaint me with all of the options on my car and made himself available for anything more that I needed. I would definitely not hesitate to work with Jeremy again or to steer others to him for a vehicle purchase.Catherine Parker

High pressure sales

Extremely disappointed with our dealing from the sales department. Requested an online quote, proceeded with negotiations. We felt the salesman was using guilt and high pressure sales to get us in the door. After our bad experience with Vincent, we still decided to keep our money local and request a different sales person. Logan was very polite and respectful. We were then told CDA Honda would not do any business with us, due to us requesting someone different.

Easy, no-pressure purchase

Our best friends purchased their 2015 Honda car from David Clark and recommended him to me. I had planned to shop "one more time" before purchasing a car but David made me such a great deal I didn't need to shop any further. David even left the room and gave me time to talk and "think" about the deal. No pressure at all!I traded in a truck and the trade-in was excellent, leaving me small balance to pay. Salesman was great, but..

Finance manager was unprofessional and became a bit angry after we refused extended warranty. He yelled at the salesman which made us uncomfortable.Too bad, because our salesman Terry Koenig was fantastic. Showed us how everything worked and appreciated that we purchasing a car fro him. Very professional. Would definitely buy from him again, but not this dealership.

No pressure

Went in here to look at a new car just for the heck of it as I had a 2013 honda crv and was thinking about upgrading. Talked with Logan who was amazing!!! If you want a car salesman that is nice and no pressure at all he's your man, he spent a lot of time with us and not only that we were able to go home and think about it! Go back the next day with more questions and then they let us leave the lot again! It was wonderful I never felt like he was pushing for the sale!! I would go back to him anytime! I hate feeling pressured and hearing "What can I do to make this sale" he never said that and listened to us and what we could do and not do :) I'm counting on all my future encounters with CDA honda to be as helpful! Poor customer service

Overpriced vehicle and improper tax calculation resulting in unanticipated $300 in order to get my plates. No return phone calls from service. No explanation of work done and had no idea how to use my auto start key.

Love my new 2016 Pilot!

Good price, knowledgeable sales personnel, available demo, closer to home than the Spokane dealerships. Fairly efficient with the paperwork. Could have done a little better demonstrating how to get along with all the new stuff on the car. Had to figure out the radio settings, where the jack was stored, how to lower the third row of seats etc. for myself.

There was no hard sell here. Terry simply showed us the safety features of the CRV then went from there explaining the numerous other features of the vehicle and how to operate the car. Excellent Experience

We winter in Arizona, but before we left in January we went to the Honda in Coeur d' Alene. Terry Wood took us for a test drive in a 2015 CR-V. It had all the bells and whistles on it. We were driving a 2007 Honda CR-V. We loved it, but decided it was time for a new car. When we got back from Az Terry Wood called and said she had the perfect car for us. We went the next day and made a deal. Terry went through all the new gadgets on the car and spent a lot of time making sure we understood. Since there were so many new things for us to learn we had to call upon Terry again and she was more than helpful. Terry, thank you and we love our new car!

The beloved Acura TL

We were looking for a luxury Sedan and low and behold Coeur d Alene Honda just happened to have a 2012 Acura TL. Terry and Mike did make it a great buying experience. These guys are highly informative. Would definitely recommend CDA to anyone wanting an easy buying experience.

Purchased a new CR-V

We had a great experience at CDA Honda in May 2015. We stopped by looking for a mid-size SUV to replace my giant gas-guzzler. Mike Shewfelt helped us out and was very professional. He was very informative about the product and didn't try to talk us into anything we didn't want. They had just what we wanted. Twice!

In July of 2014 and April of 2015 we went shopping for good used cars. After checking with 5 dealers last year and 3 dealers this year we settled on CDA Honda both times. They had exactly the type of used car we wanted- a 2008 Nissan Rogue last year and a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country this year. Both times Mike Shewfelt was our salesman and he, as well as the whole staff, made our experience quick, easy and painless. It was almost enjoyable. Not as enjoyable as, say, a hike in the beautiful north Idaho mountains, but enjoyable. Lots of dealers claim that buying a car from them is "hassle-free", but that had not been our experience, until now. Buying a car from CDA Honda truly is hassle-free.

Lease of a CRV

I just accepted a job making much less money (but a much more rewarding career) and needed to get out of a car payment so I was shopping around for a used CRV. I test drove a few and was trying to work a trade-in deal at Cd'A Honda but the numbers were not working for me. They suggested I consider a lease. I didn't know much about leases so I after receiving some information from Terry along with the numbers I went home did some research and came to the conclusion that it just made sense. My objective was to buy a used car and I was able to drive off of the lot with a brand new car and no payments for 36 months.I am still in shock! (Although I do miss my other vehicle).

Terry did a great job

I visited Terry the first of Dec. 2014 to possibly lease a Blue Honda Pilot. He worked with me all month getting the Honda into the dealership. The day I arrived everything was ready to go and it was a smooth transition. I love my Honda and I know CDA Honda will do a great job servicing it for the life of the lease. Heater in my car went out on first day we had snow, perfect timing right ! Well 246 k miles on my 91 accord I thought it was time I looked at getting into a newer vehicle. Terry Koenig helped show me how to raise my credit score from a 536 10 months earlier to a 715. He also found the right car for me with nothing down. I walked away with a 2008 civic coupe for only $ 181 a month. Love it !!!

2015 Honda CRV purchase

I haven't bought a new car since 2001 and never look forward to the prospect but working with both Larry Koenig and Terry Koenig made my buying experience a breeze. They listened to me and answered my questions directly. Once the decision on the CRV was made, dealing with the financing was quick and fair (none of the endless "I'll talk to my manager"). New 2015 Honda CR-V

My wife and I, on a very snowy Sunday afternoon, decided to visit Coeur d'Alene Honda. We thought for sure that on a Sunday they would be closed and we would be looking at cars with a pile of snow on them. To our surprise they were not only open but they were very friendly, opening the door for us and inviting us in, out of the cold, for hot beverages. I quickly told them that the reason I was here was that we were interested in a 2015 Honda CR-V, preferably dark grey in color. With that they immediately went outside and cleaned the snow off one of the cars in the lot and pulled it up under the awning so we could look it over without snow pouring down on our heads. I did't think they would have a grey one in stock since the Spokane dealer only had white, but once the snow was all cleaned off the vehicle we could see it was grey. We took it for a test drive and it handled excellent in the snow. Terri Wood was our sales person. She is very knowledgable about the Honda vehicles she sells. She even owns a Honda herself. She was patient with us and showed us all aspects and features of the vehicle and answered all of our questions and concerns. We received a fair purchase price and went home that very same day in a heavy snow storm driving a new 2015 Honda CR-V. I bought a 2014 Civic. I am a new to Honda and I worked with two sales people Terri Wood and Mr. O'Bryan. They were very helpful . I would work with them again in the future. They also had a nice child area were my children played while we signed the paperwork. This is my second New Honda Accord. I purchased my first new one at Coeur D' Alene Honda in 2006. I loved that car!!!! I knew what I wanted when I was ready to buy another new car and where to go. Incredibly BAD business practice!

Don't even begin to work with their salespeople on a car purchase, unless you don't want the vehicle! Picked out a car, got the loan.. said I'd been in to buy it after work.... They SOLD IT! That same day before I came in! Rude! Disrespectful! Really disappointing! Not what I expected from fellow graduates who own the place! Terrible and very unethical business

Bought used car that had inoperable airbag and horn system. Contacted them two days after car was purchased when problem was discovered. We were told as-is disclaimer included safety issues and we must have broken it. They were not willing to work with us. State rep and lawyer was contacted. Idaho statue Title 49-967 and Title 49-956.

Customer friendly

Great find. We have been so pleased with the customer friendly people at CDA Honda. We have a special Civic SI and they have always been helpful and friendly on the phone as well as in person for any and all of our service needs. Comfy lounge with a special area for kids. Good wifi too.

Don't Recommend

I have a Honda Accord 4 door car. I went in for service and asked for the premium oil change which includes fluids topped off and filter changed however they felt since there was a possibility of my power steering pump may be leaking they did not fill/top it off. I also asked them to print off part prices and how much it will cost in labor to get other parts of my car fixed not only did I ask once but twice called once never heard bk from them went in to pick up my car and still did not have prices on my parts or labor I again asked for the print off and was told wont have that till tomorrow. I also asked them to take a look and my head light that was not working with a new light in it they didn't even do that. I will never go bk to the local Honda to have service or to buy a car they have terrible customer service and did not do what I asked them to do that I paid for. Worst place I have ever been. Will never recommend anyone to go there.

We stopped ar CdL Honda on our vacation just to see if they had the specific red CRV we had been looking for over a year. David was so helpful and before we left the showroom we had a yet to be delivered red CRV purchased. We live 200 miles away so made another trip to pick it up. David came in on his day off and took the time to acquaint us with our new car. He later followed it up periodically with calls to see how we were doing. Unfortunately I wrecked it in less than 3 months ( not my fault) with only around 2600 miles on it. We didn't even have to think about it when deciding where buy a replacement vehicle. Once again David was so helpful in finding the identical replacement car. We love our CRV and would make another trip to CdL Honda if we ever need another new car.

Blue tooth interfered with connection. CRV is great. Service was important to them. My experiences with Service department have been great.

Randy McBride did a great job finishing the sales process begun earlier in the day via the phone with another salesman. I traded in an Accord after 14 months on lease. Now I am enjoying our family's second Honda Pilot. Yes, we have leased 3 vehicles from CDA Honda in a two-year span. Also the dealership did well in correcting an issue with an add-on item at purchase. They resolved the issue satisfactorily, and all items from the We Owe were installed and completed today.
