I purchased a used car. It was a great experience. It has a couple minor things wrong, but it is a used car not a new one So that is always expected. They were up front and and honest. Thanks Brett, Deb,Austin, and Tashia.

Older car info requested

Overall, dissatisfied. Asked for info on older vehicle. Mr. Spaulding replied, "all the info is in the ad or call 712-433-2091 thanks ." I must say that all the info is NOT in the ad as the VIN# was incomplete. I was seriously interested in this car, but due to this terse reply and inability to list the vehicle's COMPLETE information, they lost a sale.

Not a great communicator

Appreciate the truth! on 10/03/2015

Customer Service: 5.0

I called Brett inquiring about a vehicle I located on cars.com. I was going to drive over an hour to look at the car and I asked him if there was anything wrong with it, he was honest and told me it had light hail damage. I appreciated his honesty and I did not end up making the drive to see it. I would have been upset had I NOT been told the truth and went to see it, only to find out that was not the car for me. Thank You for saving my time!!!

I drove almost 400 miles just to be treated very poorly by the owner Brett. His son was very helpful, honest, and polite. If the son would have been the only one involved, i almost definitely would have bought the vehicle. But since dad was the boss, that didn't happen! I wish I would have read these reviews before I wasted an 800 mile round trip!

great cars many cars to choose from at your place.

great car dealer with many used vehicles available in various price ranges that are as nice as it gets for used cars. many of them as old as 1993 and as new as 2015. many cars look nice but have high miles on them. many of them are foreign or domestic or car, truck, van, or suv. but alot of them are nice and clean vehicles. i would consider buying a used car from them if i was in the market to buy a used vehicle but i just got a brand-new car in ames, iowa zipcode 50010 that is a 2015 toyota corolla le 4-door sedan on monday january 19th 2015 and iam in a three year lease and i dont want to get out of it as i love the car that iam leasing alot and i plan to buy it back from toyota at the end of my three year lease because i love that car alot because it is my first brand-new car and i dont plan on buying a used vehicle ever again because i have had bad luck before with purcahsing a used car from either a car dealership or private seller and thats why i wont ever buy a used car ever again and i plan to sticking with purchasing brand-new car instead of a used car because i dont feel like a used car can meet my needs as well as a brand-new car meet my needs.

Horrible Salesman and Customer Service!!

Dissapointed Customer on 01/31/2015

Customer Service: 1.0

Awful Experience! I called the number listed and spoke with a gentleman that can only be summarized as rude, a terrible communicator, unwilling to listen, and beyond pale the worst customer relations representative for a business in the NW Iowa area. He does not represent our values, and certainly does not represent the willingness to listen to the customer. I asked him about the price on a vehicle and about a repair that was needed (a repair he openly said it needed). The vehicle in question can only be programmed by the dealership, not a local service shop. When an attempt was made to question the price on the vehicle... he literally said "well, okay, bye then". If the price is firm and it's being sold as is, then maybe a better business model would be to actually write that in the description instead of wasting the time of prospective buyers and your time as a business. If it is just really terrible business accumen, then maybe you should hire a new salesman... because he never let me tell him that I had cash in hand and was willing to buy today. To bad he represents your business, because I will tell everyone I know in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Minnesota to avoid buying from this business.

i just recently purchased a Jeep Wrangler from Brett Spaulding Sales. I would send my family and friends up there to buy a car. I had an awesome experience. The family was so friendly that we actually sat and visited for a bit and had a Pepsi. I loved my experience and I love my Jeep. Thanks for making my car buying experience a great one!!

Extremely Rude

As a salesperson, You dont know which customer is your real customer so whether you feel its worth it or not, You need to make time and understand that someone is handing over hard earned money to you. I was treated quite rudely despite being a cash buyer. My only guess is i may not have fit the profile for this dealer. He was Very short, Very curt and rude. I did not buy here because of that despite how much i wanted the car, Solely on principle.

Such great help at all times. Battery needed charging - they did that. Needed help in the rain to get vehicle on the car carrier and strapped down for travel - they did that:) Made us feel "at home". Will probably go back for the next used car.

All my purchases have been a very pleasant experience. Brett and Austin will tell you all they know about the vehicle and you have time to inspect them closer if you want, without any pressure. If there is anything minor or major wrong with them, I feel they are very honest and open about the vehicle. They have a wide variety of vehicles and about anything your looking for in an affordable price range. There is always the chance of buying someones headache when purchasing a used car, although I have not had that problem. They have been in business for many years and that says that I am likely not the only repeat customer.

These guys are a busy family owned business that has worked hard at what they are doing. They have always been able to answer my questions. Lots of thanks.

My son bought a 2002 jeep liberty from these clowns, he had it for 3 weeks and drove less than 200 miles before it broke down on his way home from college. Turns out the heads are shot, and the repair bill is a minimum of $2500 if we buy a used engine with 120,000 miles on it. We called Spaulding Auto and his son said he would have his daddy call us back asap, he never did. A week later when we finally got ahold of him he said "that car was sold as is" and hung up on me.

I drove 60 or so miles to look at a used car that I had seen on line. When I arrived they had the car out for me to look at but it was not in very good shape. Mr. Spalding greeted me but then proceeded to ignore me as he walked away to talk to his "good old boys" about a Corvette they had sitting there with the hood up. I did speak to Austin, his son, who was very nice and seemed to want to assist me. But after looking at the acres of cars they had for sale (most of them in poor to fair shape) I left without a vehicle.

Yesterday I bought a 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada from brett spaulding sales. I took it for a test drive and everything worked fine except there was a antifreeze smell when you turned on the heater. They told me that the engine had all the gaskets changed due to a head gasket leak, and that the transmission had been rebuilt. Got it paid for and drove 20 miles out and the transmission went out, iradically changing gears and running at 5000 rpm's going 50 mph. finally limped it the rest of the way home driving 25mph and immediately tried calling them but they kept telling me they would call back when the owner/ mechanic got in. They never called back. I finally got ahold of them today after numerous phone calls and they would not work with me at all. I got an estimate to fix the transmission and they wouldn't even help pay to fix it. He told me I was SOL and hung up on me. This is not the way you treat people. I had the car for a HALF HOUR and it isn't running right and they wont even try and help out. In my opinion, if you are looking for a car, STAY AWAY from this dealer!

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Customer Service: 1.0

I DO NOT reccomend this dealership to ANYONE! I don't care how cheap and good the cars are, the customer service is the most awful I have ever expierienced! I called to ask some questions about a car I saw online, and the man on the other line seemed as if I was a complete bother to him. I asked what the possibility of trading my car with one of his would be, and I started to describe my car, and it does have some rust, so I told him that, and right after I said that, the man said in the MOST RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL tone, "oh.. forget about it!" and HUNG up on me! I understand, maybe it was silly for me to ask to trade, but I was just asking and he FOR SURE could have been more polite about it. Even before I asked, he was rude to me! I also had wrote an email expressing interest in the car, before talking to him on the phone and the reply I got was SO rude and short! I asked if there was anything else wrong with the vehicle, and he wrote me back.. "Didnt you bother to read the write up about Its?? all in there!!" word for word, NOT professional, at all!
