A lack of concern regarding two major issues
My name is William and wife Rebecca Furry and we own a 2014 Ford Fiesta purchased new. We were told after over 30 thousand miles with normal vehicle service that the hesitation 1st to second gears was normal.. Then other owners across to nation complained and now a clase action suit is in process...luckly our vehicile was serviced and the transmission.Recently my wife brought the vehicle in for a oill change and was told at the end of day that there exist a substance within the radiator fluid that Mike of this service station said he has never seen before and asked my wife to come to see. I then spoke shortly after with Miike from work and he told me "I, nor my staff have never seen this and he has no idea of what the subtance is." He then said that "they do not have this substance in his shop." How does one know that a unknown subtance does not exist in his shop?After asking additional questions he told me he didn have any more time to deal with me. Great customer service! If he doesn't know the exact substance then how could he know for a fact that they don't have this unknown substance in his shop once again? He then explained that a complete flush of the system is needed at a cost to us of over $890,00 and added that our 3 plus extra purchase of an additional 3 years mantainence coverage would not cover this expense. In addition he made a comment that vandalism occurs all the time. This is not the case or just a far fetch way to avoid potential liability. My concern is that only your dealership has serviced our vehicle, all records we hold. Most recently was on 16May16 according to the invoice that noted the need to replace transmission due to aftermentioned problems. All previous reports did not detail concerns regarding the coolant system. Please provide a detailed description regarding the same time replacement of 1 EV6Z*7052*D SEAL ASY-OIL to include possible effect upon the coolent system, a common issue regarding possible collant contamination should the seal be defective or damaged during installation. SECOND OPINIONS BY TWO FIRESTONE MECHANICS WHO CONDUCTED TESTS ON THE CONTAMINATION COLLABORATE WITH OUR FINDINGS ON AUGUST 14TH 2016, WITH MOST LIKELY REASON FOR THIS CONTAMINATION BEING AN HUMAN MISTAKE DURING THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. DETAILS AND NAMES CAN BE PROVIDED SHOULD BE DEAMED NECESSARY SHOULD ANY ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL DETAILS NEED TO BE PROVIDED.Thank you for your time,William & Rebecca Furrry253-632-498832010 110th Ave. SEAuburn, WA 98092Hope to resolve this issue sooner than later. Flush and anti-freeze replacement
I had a flush and replacement of the anti-freeze done on my Mercury. Mike got me in and out quicker than I expected.The mechanic was very responsive in answering my questions and addressing my concerns. The job was completed to my satisfaction.

Tom has been an Excellent resource for any and all my questions throughout the sales process. Service dept. NEEDS more efficient computers. Sales and Service people were excellent but hampered by either out of date computers or programs that would "lockup or freeze" thus creating delays when processing "Owner Loaner" vehicles. The staff was EXCELLENT. but the delays caused by computer slow downs are thwarting efficiency efforts in the sales department. Again the Sales and Service staffs were Knowledgeable, Caring, patient, very helpful, and professional. but the computer issues created some tension with some of the 4 or 5 customers awaiting their loaner.

I dropped my car off unexpectedly after hours on a Monday night because it failed to start several times that day. It was fixed and ready for pick-up by 2 pm on Tuesday. Turned out the CM had failed fortunate for me it was covered by an extended warranty. My associate was a little vague with answers to my questions. I expected a little more knowledge. I had to call at the deadline to make sure my ride was going to pick me up at work. Otherwise they may have forgotten and sent the drivers hone. Everybody was nice and helpful though.

My experience was good. A little concern vehicle had to be kept overnight. My ride in the shuttle was pleasant. Parker did a good job of finding me a vehicle when mine was not done.

They Escape was waiting for me when I arrived early for my appointment with Brent. I was able to take a test drive right then without any long wait to copy paperwork or get dealer tags. We have been fortunate to work with the same salesman, Randy Good, for the last several vehicles; the 2007 Explorer I traded in, my wife's 2014 hybrid and this 2016 explorer. With the hybrid we special ordered the car with a lot of extra features and it went smoothly, and my wife loves the car...she is getting 50 miles to the gallon on a long commute. I had a great experience at Bowen, Tom Keefe helped me find my F-150 and he was great. He knew a ton about the truck I was looking at and was very helpful in answering all my questions. Best dealership in town
this was truly exceptional experience from first time entering the dealership till buying the car, Josh and Brent were super helpful in answering question and changing my view on 4 cylinder versus V6. I didn't feel forced in making my decision, i was a little unsure about few models but after talking with them it really helped me with decision making, I'd always go back to them when it's time to buy a new car and highly recommend them to my friends.

Exceeded my Expectations
I contacted the dealership online on a day it happened to be closed. Even so, I heard back from Brent that day as we discussed a particular CPO truck and I arranged for a test drive the following day. The next morning I learned that it had already sold and since there wasn't another listing I was interested in, I figured that was all. However, Brent offered to look and took down my (fairly extensive) list of requirements (including CPO designation). To my surprise, I heard back an hour later with information about another truck that wasn't even listed yet. By the time my wife and I came for a test drive later that day, the truck had already been detailed and was sitting in front of the showroom waiting for us. A test drive told us we had found our next vehicle. With Bowen Scarff's no haggle pricing, we knew what we were going to pay and were in and out of the dealership in and out of the dealership in under two hours (including the test drive). Unlike other sales associates I've dealt with, Brent has excelled in after the sale support, answer questions about the truck and pricing accessories for me. This was undoubtedly the best used vehicle purchase experience I've ever had.

The repair was done so fast that I was able to get my oil changed too. After speaking with Monica and her knowledge and advise I decided to bring my other vehicle in and have a pre repair done. She made it so easy and kept my car overnight so I could do a switch out with my other vehicle the next day. Monica also pointed out the recommendation from the mechanic on other repairs i will soon need . Cathy was also very helpful in fixing my other vehicle. It was super busy the day I came in but I didn't have to wait and felt like I was the only one there. I will definitely be back for additional work and I feel confident that Monica and Cathy will take care of everything!

Brent did an exceptional job throughout the entire process. I chose to order a car so it took a couple of months to arrive and I was kept well informed all the way. No pressure, just excellent service through the purchase. My only negative comment is the car interior could have been cleaner (windshield fogged and generally dusty) but I think this is because of a Saturday delivery before Easter and they were probably short-staffed.

Well we quite early to find the MKT. I had already been in touch with other Ford dealers, but no one had the MKT. I had been reading up on the MKT for the last year; then while on vacation was able to rent one for a week. So I was already sold on the vehicle. A confusing start......
It started very confusing as I had called to get an appointment for an oil change for my 2015 Lincoln MKZ. I was told that I didn't need an appointment which I thought was strange. They told me to come in. So my husband and I did and went to service dept. Then I was told to go to Quick lube so after having to back out and move over there I was told I had a 2 hour wait. Called my husband who was in your showroom and he said to come back over and we were going to get to the bottom of this. He talked with the Lincoln sales manager who was awesome and he agreed with us that he didn't like the run around we were getting. He personally went to the Lincoln service manager and she got us right in and she gave us her card so I can call her to get in rather than getting the whole run around. As it was they found a recall and fixed that as well. I knew that I needed an appointment but for some reason they wouldn't make one.
Beyond amazing service
We recently purchased a used vehicle at this location. Initially when you arrive at a dealership, you are usually pressured right away, that was not the case here. They were very easy going and checked in with me to see if I needed help and then let me browse. Once i had a question I talked with the sales staff. They helped me lock in a great deal on a used vehicle. There were some things to be taken care of after purchasing the vehicle so it was on me to reach back out to them. After a short period of time, I reached out to get the remaining items taken care of, and the sales person we had worked with was no longer with the company. It had appeared that the items we had in mind had fallen off the radar. The used car manager stepped in and took care of everything for us. Our vehicle was involved in 2 accidents delaying the items that Bowen was still going to take care of, so I thought well they have probably forgotten by now. I called and scheduled the appointment a few months later and they remembered everything perfectly, got my car in, even took care of an oil change for us as well. I would highly recommend this location for future business and have spread the good word. Absolutely amazing service

Best price on the car I was looking for
They had the best price online for the specific car I wanted even though it was $500 more than the price listed on the ad including the factory rebate but I needed a car. Bent didn't try to pressure me into something more expensive or told me what I "needed" and the Scarff family gave me a second example of how buying a car should be. Service techs found & fixed annoying minor squeaks
I bought my 2014 Focus Titanium new, in January, 2015. It now has 25,000 miles driven.Once before, I had an annoying little noise and a vibration, both of which were found and fixed under warranty. The problem was a loose wiring harness behind the glove box; and, the engine vibrated as if one of the cylinders was misfiring. The cause of the engine vibration was slightly out-of-alignment engine mounts. And the wiring harness was insulated and re-attached. Great job.On this current visit, there was a similar little noise (buzz) coming from the vicinity of driver's side of the dashboard. They found two sources of noise, a loose wiring harness, and also the battery holder in the engine compartment.I am so accustomed to dealerships telling me, in essence, "Oh, that's just the way these cars are, and there's nothing we can do about it." I almost expect that type of non-response, until now.Bowen Scarff Ford goes out of its way to listen to me, and sleuth out the problem, and most importantly, they fix it! Some people would consider these problems minor, and would ignore them. However, they drove me crazy because I drive my cars A LOT. A horrible circus act
Complete incompetence as a dealership. I bought a 2015 used Ford here and all went well until they drove it to the pick-up location after we finished signing documents. They then told me the car was broken (rain sensor for wipers) and I could not take it. They made me drive my trade-in home; which I no longer legally owned.Horrible communication skills throughout the entire sales department; like a horrible circus act. I get home with my new vehicle after two days and do a few checks; one being tire pressure. I find a nail in the rear tire and 20psi in it. So they were worried about a rain sensor for intermittent wipers but not a critically low tire with a nail in it. Im done with this circus act of a business and I hope this helps others in the future.

Everyone we dealt with was friendly. After a long reasearch process prior to entering the dealership, we knew pretty much what we wanted. No one tried pressuring us into purchasing more than we had prepared to spend. It took a couple of days for me to find the just right car for me, and the salesman Tom Keefe, was patient and responsive to my questions.

Exceptional Service
Car would not start. Had it towed in with no appointment. Their shuttle service gave me ride to work. Alecia, my service advisor called me a couple hours or so later with a diagnosis. Their shuttle service picked me up from work & brought me back to the shop to pick my car up. I did not expect this since I did not have an appointment. My car wash washed & vacuumed. Everyone I came in contact with was so pleasant & courteous. Very happy customer!!

The Ultimate Buying Experience
I came in to the dealership with the goal of finding a good used car. Not knowing exactly what I was looking for, Tom took the time to test drive a few different models and show me the pros and cons of each car. In the end we landed on the Ford Fusion which turned out to be the perfect car for me. The actual process of purchasing the car was made simple, the price was right, my trade price was great! and the financing was handled by another man named Tom who made that step easy as well.Job well done by the two Tom's!!

For USED Car Shopping Only
Background: We recently bought a used 2008 Kia Sadona Minivan, fully equipped, 42,000 miles for $10,000 at Bowen Scarff Ford. KBB had suggested retail at around $9,250 and NADA had the price at $10,750. We found the van on our banks car buying service site.I gave them 1 star because the car itself was well prepared to be resold, it seems they did everything short of certifying it (as they are not a Kia dealership) to prepare the car for resell. I gave them the second star because the store itself was quite nice, it had good sitting areas to spend time at while waiting and the low level support staff were all very friendly. However, the sales desks did feel kind of in the open and I didn't really appreciate that.Now for why they didn't get the other three stars. First, I docked them 1.5 stars for their gimmicky "No Dicker Sticker" policy. They don't bug on their prices AT ALL. They claim they, "try to give you the lowest price possible, have done it for 20+ years, true no hassle car buying experience." Well, that is fine if your customer holds a certain perspective that car sales people can be truly trying to help their customers and are actually capable of cutting their margins so far that the customer will get the best price period. I don't hold that view. I feel that all car dealerships are truly in it for the money, they care very little for the customer (why would they?!), and they are always trying to turn as big a profit as possible. Thus, I go into car buying assuming negotiation is on the table, despite any guarantee the dealership is making because I assume their profit margins are set higher then they need to be to turn a decent profit. Don't get me wrong, do I feel I got a good price on this vehicle? Yes. Do I feel I got a fair price? Maybe, I am not actually sure yet. Do I feel I got the BEST price possible? Absolutely not. And by the way, all I was trying to negotiate for was $500 off the sticker price.I docked them another star for the sales person. We worked with two people, first I won't name because I didn't like him, and the second was Rick Cuddie, he was quite likable. Now, the first guy got them docked because I felt he was the epitome of an annoying sales person, constantly being amazed at all the cool features of the van and commenting on them, trying to act like we were old friends and he was doing me a solid, and generally not giving me enough room. Most disturbing part, he tried to assume he knew my own personal situation and why I make the decisions I make, that made me feel quite uncomfortable. I like to make my own opinions and discover the vehicle for myself. If I have questions I will ask them. Also, he tried to give us information on a vehicle he was not familiar with (because we bought a used Kia at a Ford dealership) and some of that information was false (like about the transferability of the warranty).Finally, I docked them another star for their financing. We financed a significant amount of this vehicle and had a good loan from our bank. Bowen Scarff wanted to run our credit (which is excellent mind you) and get us a better deal (you know, since they couldn't bug on the sticker price and all). What was the deal they got us? A whole 0.01% less than the loan from our bank. So what did we do with that? We turned around and got our bank to drop their rate and went with our bank because we know, love and trust our bank. I couldn't say any of those things about this dealership so why would I finance with them?!In the end, would I buy another vehicle from them? Yes, but only if I found it online, loved everything about it, was ABSOLUTELY okay with the price shown, test drove it and it was exactly as I expected it to be, and did no financial dealing with them. Would I recommend them to a family member or friend? Absolutely not. Mind you, this is only for used cars, I suspect buying a new car from them would be different, and likely better.

2012 Ford Escape-exactly what I wantied!
On the whole I was very happy to do business with Bowen Scarff Ford Lincoln. I approached then through the AARP set price plan that they advertised, so I went there knowing what to expect. My representative was very friendly and when he did not know the answers he went to his higher ups and I respect that. They went above and beyond to find me financing, as I have been in a short sale situation for the last 2 years and that had hurt my credit. The interest rate was just what I wanted and they did make a few other concessions to help me out. They did not offer me a good value for my trade-in, so I chose to keep that one and use it for work. They did then help me to find a shipper and had my car sent to me in New Mexico where I work part-time. I did find that after I had signed on the dotted line, that my representative was not very attentive to me anymore. I do admit that he did seem to be very busy with many customers. I would recommend this company to do business with, no matter what your needs. I got a used vehicle.

I would definitely purchase a car from Bowen Scarff Ford again. They were quick to respond to my inquiry on prices, but not pushy. I worked with Brent, who was great. I received a fair price for the explorer I was purchasing, along with a fair trade in. No surprises when I arrived to purchase the vehicle. When I arrived, I was in and out within 45 minutes with a new car. My experience in the past was that it took a good portion of the day to purchase a car, but because Brent was up front on the car purchase, payments, financing, etc through email, as well he knew I wanted to be in and out quickly, it went so much faster. Arranging shipment to and from Alaska for our new Ford Edge and our trade-in Escape Hybrid was complex to say the least, but was handled professionally. I have had my two ford trucks serviced at Bowen Scarff for the last few years and the service has been great. So when I started thinking about trading my truck in for a new version I went there first. I am sure glad I did. From the moment I contacted them and Brent Schwartznau replied the service was excellent. Brent walked me through the lot and reviewed all of the F150's on the lot. None were what I wanted but it gave me the opportunity to see different options. He never pressured me to purchase on of their vehicle. I had specific requirements so he searched and searched, found some but could not get them so continued to look. Brent kept me in the loop all the way. When we found my truck the final process of paperwork was quick and efficient. Outside of talking to Brent I only other person I met with was Laura the finance manager and she was great also. Great service and a fair price
I was originally contacted by their website coordinator (Sharon , I believe) for a test drive of the car I was interested in from their online site. The person whom I was to meet was not there (I had to switch the original appt time) so I was referred to Ron Olson. Ron was very cordial and I explained that there was one vehicle I wanted to see but was open to other options. Much to my delight, the first car I had my eye on was as clean and luxurious as I had hoped! The test ride sealed the deal (I had done previous surfing online for the reliability & retail value of this car and proved to be worthy). I finalized the paperwork the same day (the accountant, I'm sorry but forgot "her" name) was very thorough and even got me another .5% off of my loan because she saw that I was a member of the same bank loan they made for me!!! I came in the next morning to make a down payment and (Ron had arranged to pick me up at home) to drive my new Used Car home. Later that day, I had an "engine light display" to signal there was a problem with the vehicle so I immediately brought it back. Ron arranged their used car mechanic to look into it and it turned out to be an air circulation hose not reattached when they replaced the air filter earlier. That was a sigh of relief in that it wasn't a serious problem. Unfortunately, the "engine light display" happened a 2nd time and again brought the car in. Ron greeted me and was apologetic while being expedient in getting the car fixed. I was off and driving away before you could wink an eye. Needless to say, Bowen Scarffs' service and reputation is intact and very professional!
The Hide all they can get away With.
Bought a Certified Ford F150,Ford Motor Company would not have Certified this truck.It was Certified by the Used Car Manager.Needs extensive Repairs,plus parts are missing. just in cosmetic repairs the bill came to $1389.49.this is Honesty?believed what was told by the Dealership,until had Vehicle Inspected.Now Ford is Deciding what is covered by Warranty.Other wise am stuck with many problems. do not get rushed into buying without doing complete inspection of what you are buying.Finance,make sure you read everything until you sign.
Second new ford in 11 months

The whole process was easy and basically pain-free. From finding the car online to driving away with it was only a couple days, and that was only because we were not able to get to the dealership right away. A Wonderful Vehicle Purchase Experience
We recently were in the market for a new 2015 Lincoln MKC and found one on Bowen Scarff's site, although pictures were forthcoming, I proceeded to contact their sales department, at which Brent Schwartznau was my sales contact and he provided me the answers I required, as it had just come into their facility and had not yet had pictures uploaded up to their website. He explained the features and was highly informative. We reside way up north and we did not want to make a wasted trip, so upon inquiring about the vehicle, Brent gladly and quickly provided all the needed information and pictures of the vehicle to make allow us to make an educated decision to travel to Kent, Wa. We scheduled an appointment with Brent to look at the vehicle as soon as possible, especially after Brett told me that the interior was gorgeous on the phone, but even moreso in person. He had the vehicle washed, made sure it had the PDI performed and filled the tank with gas. Wow! Customer Service overload! Price was great and the drive was well worth the effort. My husband and I have been looking for a second car. Before going to Bowen Scarff we have been to a couple others and walked out. When we walked into Bowen it was a breath of fresh air. We worked with Rick Rickler and we couldn't have asked for a better sales person. This is a no pressure no back and forth kind of place. Fantastic Car Buying Experience!
I always dread going car shopping due to the unrelenting high pressure sales tactics. But that is not the case at Bowen Scarff. They have a wonderful staff of knowledgeable and courteous sales people that bend over backwards to make sure you get the right car for you not for their sales quota. Our salesman was Tom Keefe and he couldn't have been more helpful or patient with us. This dealership is also the "No Dicker Sticker" dealership. What you see on the window sticker is what you pay and it usually includes many discounts.
Management Failures
The GOOD:- Low-pressure pricing and sales approach- Vehicle delivered on time and in excellent condition- Friendly helpful staff members (but not management)The BAD:I wish I could end the review with those compliments, but the low rating results from managements poor attitude and responsiveness in addressing a relatively minor issue: Two days after taking possession of my Escape, I noticed that the nav system maps were not the latest available (new maps had been available for more than 3 months). I brought it to the attention of my sales associate, who referred me to the sales manager, who referred me to the service manager, who was unavailable and was to call me back. After 3 days I called the sales manager again and left a voicemail indicating the service manager never called me. After 4 more days with no response (7 total), I called again and was able to finally get through to him. I attempted to convince him that my NEW car with a NEW nav system should absolutely come with current maps. He stuck with an I just resell what I get argument, dismissing my concern. Had the vehicle sale depended on it, Im certain he would have been more imaginative in resolving the issue. He again transferred me to the service manager, who was still unavailable and again never called me back.After 3 more days (10 in all), I gave up on Bowen Scarff and contacted Ford Customer Service directly. A manager called me back promptly, immediately recognized my concern as valid, and within 2 hours had arranged to have the nav update added under my vehicle warrantee. Kudos to Ford Customer Service not so much for the dealerships management. What shabby treatment for a first time new Ford owner! How can I possibly recommend Bowen Scarff to friends and family after such poor behavior from both Sales and Service management? They should take a tip from Ford Customer Service, and even from their own staff when it comes to how to treat new owners.

The only place to buy Ford cars and trucks
One low price, no high pressure sales people, nice showroom and plenty of stock to choose from. We have been buying all of our Fords (about 12 of them) from Bowen Scarff for about 20 years. I won't even visit another Ford dealer. Bowen Scarff is that good.
A Great buying experience
We purchased a truck from Steve Lawrence who was excellent to work with, we kept in touch with each other periodically by email till we were ready to buy. One of the easiest purchase of a vehicle ever, never ever did we feel any pressure and we were able to take our time to look and think things over without ever feeling hurried or pressured. Everything went very smooth and quick. BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!
We live 2+ hours away from Kent, WA. After trying to buy an F-150 locally and having no luck, I found a truck at Bowen Scarff Ford. I called and spoke to Randy Good. I provided him information on our trades and told him we would be over in four days to do the deal. When we arrived, the truck was better than advertised. Our trades were evaluated and we had a deal in less than an hour! While the truck was being detailed and filled with gas, we did the financing and were on the road home in our new truck! I would not hesitate to buy from Randy at Bowen Scarff again and highly recommend him to everyone looking to buy a vehicle!

I've been buying cars from dealerships for 20+ years. This was most pleasant car experience ever. Nigel, the salesman who assisted me in purchasing my '15 Ford Escape was a total professional in every way. He was very knowledge about the car and the car business. He made sure all of my questions were answered. There were no games and he honored the price we discussed over the phone, unlike the other dealerships I went to before visiting Bowen Scarff. I didn't feel pressured in any way. Even though I was pre approved for the loan at my credit union, the finance woman was able to get me an amazing rate to go along with the amazing price. Even more amazing was I was in and out of Bowen Scarff with my new car in about two hours, start to finish.

This was our third vehicle purchase from Bowen Scarff Ford Lincoln. The process from beginning to end was quick and uncomplicated. On this particular occasion, I made an internet inquiry and Randy Good contacted me quickly. We made an appointment to test drive a vehicle and ask questions. Randy is very knowledgeable and personable. When we made the purchase, the entire process was completed in a short time frame with no pressure to purchase extras. We tend to keep our vehicles for the long term, but when we are ready for another one, we will return.

Set up an appointment with Tom Keefe at Bowen Scarff and I'm so glad that I did. The buying experience was so stress free, there was no dickering of the prices and no hard sell tactics. After doing months of research on the 2015 Mustang GT and the prices one should pay I noticed that this dealership not only had the most competitive prices in the area, but also nationwide. I had been looking at the Ford Fusion Hybrid for over 10 weeks. I decided to stop by my local dealership, Bowen Scarff, and look at the Fusion. Tom Keefe greeted me and right from the start was at ease. No pressure, he answered all of my questions and offered alternatives to some options that were not available on the lot. I decided to pull the trigger and the buying process was quick, and efficient. A couple of days later when I was able to detail the outside of my new car, I noticed a scratch on the passenger door, I called Tom and he asked me to bring it down. We purchased a beautiful 2014 Escape from Tim Zetterwall. I can't say enough about Tim!! On my first visit to the dealership I told Tim I was doing some research on cars and was just looking that day. Tim knew there was not going to be a sale that day, but it did not keep him from spending close to two hours with me, taking me on a test drive, answering my questions and providing me with lots of information about the rebates that could help bring the final price of the car down. Tim was incredibly pleasant and accommodating. I HATE car shopping...the whole dang experience! Car salesman feel so predatory and it feels like you can't believe anything that comes out of their mouths! Tim actually made the whole experience enjoyable though! I never felt pressured, or like he was trying to fool me or take advantage of me because I'm a woman and was there without my husband. The guys at Bowen Scharff went out of their way to accomodate us! We are from Oregon and it is a 3.5 to 4 hour drive to Kent under normal circumstances! Well due to traffic hiccups it took us 5 we got to the dealership on a Sunday after 5pm and there were still 4 guys waiting for us! They were awesome! We went through all of the paper work and for both the purchase and our trade-in quickly and were on the road home within the hour! We got an excellent deal on a new 2012 F350 (it only had 38 miles on it) and an excellent value for our trade-in (twice what the local Ford dealer wanted to give us)!! We would definatley make the drive again and will be telling people what a good deal we got and what an Awesome group of guys we dealt with! The used car I wanted to purchase was priced too high, but they refused to negotiate a different price, claiming that this was the purpose of their "No Dicker Sticker" price tag on every car. Hopefully this review will save you the time I lost driving down to the dealership to test drive a car only to find out their "No Dicker Sticker" is simply meant to dicker you into thinking you are getting a great deal without the need to negotiate a lower price. Don't fall for it...go somewhere else where you can work with the salesperson to arrive at a price you are both happy with. Overall, it was a two-star bad experience for me. I wasted a bunch of time chasing after a car that I knew was priced above retail, like every dealer does, only to find that Bowen Scarff Ford is not willing to work with their customers to arrive at a final sale price. I wouldn't even have thought to ask about this when I called ahead to schedule the test drive. -------------DETAILS:-------------I visited Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent to check out a used car they had for sale. The test drive went fine, the car was in good condition - definitely some normal wear and tear, some scrapes, scratches, and nicks on the exterior, but nothing out of the ordinary. It felt good during the test drive and I was ready to make an offer.From looking at Kelly Blue Book, The "No Dicker Sticker" price Bowen Scarff Ford set for this car was about $2,000 above the suggested private party list price, and $500 above the suggested dealer list price. The dealer list price from KBB accounts for dealer fees and profits and assumes the car is in "excellent" condition - no nicks, scratches, scrapes, perfect mechanical condition, etc. (the car was not in "excellent" condition). Both prices are defined as starting points for negotiating with a seller. Edmunds and ClearBook showed even bigger price discrepancies than KBB. Needless to say, I felt their price for this car was too high.I sat down with the salesperson and asked if we could talk about the price. He took all my info down to show me the final "no dicker sticker" price with taxes+fees. I talked about the prices mentioned on KBB, Clearbook, and Edmunds to see if we could meet somewhere in the middle and he told me it was impossible to lower the price, even by $1 - that's what the "no dicker sticker" is about... I was shocked. He and the General Sales Manager showed me some printouts with similar cars listed for similar prices at other dealerships to help justify their price. Of course, these were all *retail prices* - starting points for negotiation - and unfortunately, Bowen Scarff Ford was not willing to arrive at a *sale price* with me.In the end, I cannot recommend Bowen Scarff Ford for a used car purchase unless the price you see is the exact price you are willing to pay. I have never seen that at a dealership before, even those advertising fair price programs like the No Dicker Sticker. Just avoid them altogether for your next used car purchase.**EDIT: To respond to the dealer's response: NADA is a Washington lobby dedicated to promoting the interests of car dealers - not the interests of the buyer. Case in point - KBB was the highest of the 3 pricing sites and NADA was $1500 above KBB. The condition of the car was good enough to make an offer, but "exceptionally good" is an overstatement. The ABS light was on during the test drive...not to mention the nicks and scratches, all of which would preclude the car from being in Excellent condition required for the retail price listed on any of the pricing sites. In the end, Tom told me you could not lower the price by even a dollar, and the price included a $150 "negotiable documentation fee"... Tom also told me every single one of your reviews on this site are 5 stars. Not true. It is great that people have been happy with your service, you wouldn't be in business otherwise. They may not have been aware of the dickering involved in coming up with the price on the no dicker stickers at Bowen Scarff Ford. This is certainly not the first time a customer has commented about this.

The Bowen Scarff brothers are completely awesome- all their dealerships...My family has purchased cars from all Bowen Scarff dealerships- and they hire exceptional sales people- in particular Tom Keefe who despite my own personal issues, anxiety and reservations- worked with me to purchase my first new vehicle at the age of 45!! There was no pressure, he was extremely well informed about vehicles and financing and went WAY out of his way to make this transition very smooth. I hate buying a new or used car!! It always totally stresses me out!!! I had been looking for the last month and had kept in touch with Mike and Mark Scarff re my search for a new or used vehicle. They never forgot about me, kept contacting me with updates on possible used vehicles or other car options that were showing up at the dealership. You question whether you should buy new or certified used, whether you are paying to much from what others are paying for the model of car you want.After experiencing 2 hours of a horrible experience earlier in the day at a Tacoma dealership, my wife and I were discussing maybe we should check out the web and buy a car online. I said I hear they have a dealership in Kent that we shouldn't have any issues. Less than 30 minutes after meeting Tom Keefe, we were purchasing a new car for the price we expected to pay. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I first inquired online about the price and selection of the Focus ST's, and within 5 minutes I had an automated response, and 5 minutes after that, I had a personal response and buying options from Hugh Monahan. He was incredibly quick to respond, his answers were succinct and informative, and he was very personable.I work graveyard shift, so any time I need to get something done (like buy a car!), it means I'm staying up well past when I should be sleeping. It was preferable to me to be able to complete the process in one day, and they came through. Hugh transferred the car I wanted up from Olympia that same afternoon! That was HUGE! Also, I traded in my '06 Mazda 3, and they were very fair with the trade in pricing. That also influenced my decision to go ahead with the deal. I didn't NEED a car, but with the price I got for my current car, and the financing/price I got on the new one, it was an easy choice.

Tom and Brian were extremely professional and customer oriented, making sure we were informed as we tried to decide on a model and never pressuring us. And, the bottom line pricing, clearly shown on their No Dicker Sticker, proved to be the best that we encountered and let us feel that we were being very well treated.
