I always get exceptional service at Bob Smith!!! They are very knowledgeable. They explain in detail what services I need in addition to my maintenance that's covered under my warranty. I also like that they will explain what is most important and what can wait to cut down the cost. On my most recent visit Brian the service advisor explained to me based on my mileage I would need a particular service soon and the cost which allows me to be prepared when that time comes. My issues are always handled the first time. Cost and Convenience are really important to me and Brian and the rest of the Service Team always makes that a priority!!!!!

Overall, service was very good; my technician was Tig Pourian. I received my car back as well-serviced; good condition and my car was washed. I was happy with the service. My only complaint was that it took nearly 45 minutes for me to get a loaner car (#46), then when I was taken to the loaner car, it only had enough gas for 11 miles; I was told the gas card did not work so was not given any additional gas, hence, I had to get gas, which made me even more late to work. On top of that, the car was not clean inside and had an empty In N'Out drinking cup on the floor of the car on the driver's side. It was surprising to me because I expected to receive a loaner car that had gas in it and that it would be clean inside. I expected more from the Bob Smith BMW (Calabasas) which normally has nice and clean facilities, hence, I expected the loaner cars to be the same, which is why I gave an overall rating of 4 stars.

Went to dealer for letter substantiating claim against Century West, BMW of damage during battery change six weeks earlier, result, flooded battery compartment, shorted electronics. $5,000.00 bill.Terri Wallace and Shop Foreman, Mike. Terri said she had never heard of BMW, USA ever asking for aletter from another dealer on a charge back claim. She asked Mike to look at my car. He was very thorough in his inspection, noting that all welds, body panel seals were "factory work," never beendamaged or repaired. Mike said that my complaint was accurate and the flooded battery compartmentwas the result of damage caused when Century West changed the battery on November thirtieth, 2015.He told me he was busy but that he would write the letter requested by BMW, USA and call me when it was ready. I called Terri and Mike several times over nine business days, leaving a message and phone number. None of my calls have been returned, each one went to voice mail, and I havegiven up hope that they will ever respond. I also contacted four independent BMW repair shopsand one of them told me that if they wrote a letter criticizing a Dealership, he feared that his parts supply might be interrupted by BMW, and he refused my request. The other three shops said basically the same thing and all three denied my request for a letter on their letterhead. When a BMW Dealership won't criticize another BMW Dealership and four independent BMW shops fear retaliation from the Manufacturer would hurt their businesses, I see a problem. If anyone out there has experienced similar stonewalling, write a review and talk to an attorney!

i leased Z4 on 2-21- 2016 from bob smith in Calabasas.I found this car on online so I drove all the way from Irvine. it took me 2 hours.when I get there I saw a missing part from passenger door side, so I asked my sales person (neil) to mail it to me.a week later they mailed a piece that its missing but it was the piece from driver side.( parts a not Identical both side. ) so It doesn't fit.i called niel, and he says he will send it to me but never received. while i was waiting for the part, i found other part is missing. it was the cover from back side of rear view mirror ( where the mirror attach to the windshield) so i was upset, because i leased a brand new car and i told neil to send me the piece asap but its been a month since i told to them.i called and text neil many times but his answer was always same. his manager said, i have to bring my car in to get fixed.yes i can do that , if i live close to Calabasas. but i live in Irvine. working 5days a week neil told me he has a loaner car. that means it takes few days to fix them. i was wondering why... why don't they get the parts first and install them right away?its not mechanical issue. its just plastic pieces missing. if i have a loaner car, i have to drive round trip, at least 4hours with out traffic.and they told me i only can have loaner car if i visit the dealer between mon- fri.that mean i have to leave my work on weekdays, drive 2 hours... i work hourly.. i don't want to lose money. and i have to spend my money for gas too.they can just mail the parts,and i can bring my car in local dealer ship for installing.i have no idea, why they keep asking me to bring my car in. it is so suspicious, they try to keep hide something. my engine light is on too.think about it why the brand new car has some missing pieces? it might got into an accident and they never report. because they can fix it for free they told me, they wont cover any expenses (gas or any compensation for losing my money from work ) i don't think it sounds fair..... please help.

Have been servicing my 2000 Mcoupe at Bob Smith with Ash Lumian. Always quality service and work. Recently decided to sell the car and Ash lined up Mike (Shop Foreman) and Hasan (tech) to do a complete workover on the car to get it ready to sell. I told the guys to find anything that an enthusiast would ask about or demand to be repaired and fix it in advance. They meticulously went through the car and repaired seals, gaskets, bushings and even electrical items and showed me all of the required repairs in advance and after the work was completed. They had me in the bay and under the car. First time in 20 years of owning BMWs and having only authorized dealers perform the work that I had received this level of service. I sold the car for top dollar with their help. In fact, after explaining what had been performed and the quality of service, the out of state buyer decided to use Bob Smith to do the pre-inspection. I was so happy that my service guys introduced me to Greg Huber in leasing who leased me a brand new 528 with the same outstanding service. Great price and even better service from Greg as well. My service guys even got involved in the leasing process just because they took an interest in me. I will not go anywhere else for BMW service and purchases. I can't say enough----outstanding!!

I live very near Beverly Hills BMW, but when I was looking for my dream BMW, to finally motivate me to trade in my beloved 128 Cov't, that I've had for almost 7 years, I found it thru Cars.com at Bob Smith BMW. So I packed a lunch and took the trek out to Calabasas. It was worth the drive. Great service, great price on just the car I've wanted, in the colors I wanted, to make the change. Easy to find and convenient to the 101, trust me if it weren't for the 45min drive verses 5mins to BHBMW I would come regularly. This time I followed the team that helped me my last few leases when they migrated to Bob Smith! They were good before but now they were amazing. Hans and Lorelei AND the rest of the team were absolutely fun to work with. The return of my lease car, the selection of the new lease car and the progression through the finance and acquisition paperwork were all, I'm not kidding, FUN. I even bonded with the young man in Finance. So kind! I have always enjoyed my experiences with BMW. I fell in love with BMW's back in the late 60's. Bought my first in the mid 1970's. And started leasing them continuously in 2003. And the experience just gets better and better. The Bob Smith team is courteous, professional, committed and considerate. Everyone I met or saw there. Dealership: large, nice and easily accessible right next to I405. Very relaxed and pleasant environment. I enjoyed being there. Salesman: Eddie is the BEST salesman I have met in my 3 month car search. He bent backwards to accommodate in every way. Put up with so many emails and calls without hint of frustration. Even when I found lower price somewhere and he couldnt match it, his attitude did not change and was equally as helpful.Management: Friendly, not pushy. Prices: They were the second best price and I was willing to pay the higher price just to buy from them because of Eddie but they werent getting the car I wanted soon enough and I had an expiring BMW coupon.Definitely going to them for my second car soon.

This is a great dealership! I have bought two cars from Bob Smith BMW and each time the experience was pleasantly refreshing. Ironically, this is not typically how most folks feel after a car buying experience. First of all the showroom and service facilities are gorgeous, but it's the employees that truly make this a special dealership. Every person I met throughout the process of buying a car here was kind, courteous and professional. Lorelei, the sales person, was exceptional in every way, plus the sales manager, the lease return agent, and finance officer were all low pressure and accommodating. My previous dealings with parts and the service department also show a strong commitment for excellence. I used to be a car salesman, I walked up in this place thinking that i KNOW i am not going to get the deal that i want same day, and just decided to go in for a test drive, so that i can come back in 6 months to make the deal and drive off with my brand new bimmer...After talking with Dominick Brown the salesperson, he assured me that they would be able to get me that deal that i was sure was not going to happen...I talked with the sales manager and agreed that if i were to get the deal i wanted, that i would go ahead with the credit app and make the purchase if approved...WHAT DO YOU KNOW, i guess i don't know everything haha, i got the green light and drove off with my baby! I would honestly recommend this dealership to EVERYBODY, I am so ecstatic that i will continue my business for the life of me, or the dealership, because as a customer i felt respected for what i'm worth, which after all is money, and this place knows how to treat their clients, so with that said, I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

I came in for a air bag recall and was told it would be several hours and I would get a courtesy car. As I was missing some paperwork to square away getting the courtesy car (old insurance car), the recall work was completed in less than an hour; therefore, I did not even have to worry about getting the courtesy car. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Taking a car in for service is not my favorite thing to do. However, I have been taking my X5 to Bob Smith since I purchased it in 2008 and one of the reasons I do is because of Ken Firmin. I took the car in 3 weeks ago because the back seat rattled. They "fixed" it, and then it started rattling again last week. I called to make an appointment and they said I can bring the car in only between 7 and 11 a.m!!! After getting upset, the clerk agreed to "allow" me to come in at 3:40. I took it in today AGAIN. The loaners are very basic cars, some without navigation. Brian Avelar is great though. The problem is that they are very busy and you just have to wait for an appointment if you want a loaner. Isaac, the Resident Genius, is also very helpful. He does everything he can to resolve issues.

I am usually very skeptical about going to the dealership for service or repairs when out of warranty. I decided to try it and I was extremely pleased with my experience. We just purchased a used 2011 Ford Edge as is from Bob Smith's dealership. 5 days after we purchased the car we had a mechanical breakdown and the extended warranty that we purchased refused to cover the repairs. Julia in finance was amazing as she went to bat for us working with the warranty representative to try and get Warranty Solutions to cover the repairs After two days of working with the warranty company they still refused to pay for the repairs. I just received a call from Julia stating that the dealership was covering the repair! I never expected this because we bought the vehicle as is and purchased a warranty. In this day and age of so many businesses lacking integrity it is so nice to deal with a business that values their customers! Thanks again, we appreciated everything that was done to help us!

I found the perfect car at Bob Smith BMW and proceeded to give them a down payment for the car. The accepted it cashed my check etc and then let me know about 3 days later that they would no loner hold the car and they were selling it. Completely rude and untrustworthy people. Only out to make a dollar no matter what the expense. DO NOT SHOP FOR CARS HERE! There are several and I mean several BMW dealerships around that area, so go to ANY other one besides BOB SMITH they are the absolute worst! What they did was not only wrong it was unethical. I tried proposing several alternatives including getting the car that day and they said no everytime because they wanted to sell it to someone right then and did not care that I had already paid them some money for it. Once again don't ever shop here and don't work with Hovik.

After about a month of looking I found my dream car in CA. Within minutes of sending an email to see if it was still available I heard from Brian Mayer. It's not exactly easy to buy a car sight unseen from 1500 miles away unless you use Brian. The man knows what he is doing and provides exceptional customer service. He kept me in the loop and was essentially available 24/7 for anything I needed. I'm pretty sure he doesn't sleep! I really don't know how the process could have gone any smoother. To be fair, at this writing I haven't actually received the car yet and can't imagine having any complaints once I get it but Brian still deserves the highest marks. Ironically, we plan to move to HI in a couple of years and I expect to be buying our next cars from CA and shipping them. I would absolutely buy from Brian at Bob Smith again.

Hats off to the first NO PRESSURE sales force. I merely stopped by to check out the color of a car (that I was about to buy elsewhere). When I told approaching salesman "Hovik" of my intentions and that I was NOT going to be buying from them and that I already had a deal elsewhere, Hovik simply responded "no problem" let me show you the color and said not to feel as if I was wasting his time. He even wished me well. I offered him information about my other deal and he simply said it sounded good and asked if I wanted him to see if he could do better. SURE, WHY NOT I thought but I was pretty sure he could not do better for me....but he was so so nice, I thought I would at least let him try. If saving $27.00 a month on a 36 month lease is a good thing ( saving $972 ), then I did well at Bob Smith... And Hovik IS THE MAN. Ask for him directly!

I purchased my last 3 cars (all new), a Ford Mustang, a Toyota 4Runner, and a Volvo XC60, in the last 10 years through internet price negotiation. In all 3 occasions, I communicated with the internet staffs at the car dealers first to settle on a car price, and then went to the dealership to pick up the car and sign the necessary paperworks. From time to time, the salesmen would try to sell me additional stuffs, which was annoying, but I understood they were trying to make a few dollars more on the sale and I have no problem with that.My good experience with internet car purchase was stopped cold when I ran into these guys at Bob Smith BMW. The story started when I saw an X1 in the new car inventory on Bob Smith's web site. I put in an offer and received a callback from Brian Mayer promptly. I explained to him that I was in Arkansas and I'm purchasing the X1 for my wife in LA. I informed him that I already had a quote for an identical X1 from another BMW dealership in Ventura County and said my offer was based on that quote. In addition, I told him my wife drives a Toyota 4Runner and asked him to commit to a certain tradein value. Brian said he will definitely beat the Ventura County's offer.A few days later, my wife drove her 4Runner to Bob Smith, thinking that she will trade in the 4Runner, sign the necessary paperworks, and pay cash for the X1. Her first surprise came when Brian tried to sell her another X1, a used one. My wife called me from the dealership and I told Brian through Facetime in no uncertain term that I have NO interest in the used car. Next came the worst salesman I believe I've ever met, Paul Nema. The first thing Nema tried was to pretend that my previous internet negotiation with Brian never happened. Instead, he was going to re-negotiate the whole deal, and he started this by telling me how much less he thinks the 4Runner is worth. Now, Brian asked for and I emailed him the VIN of the 4Runner a few days before my wife's visit and he also knew that we bought the car new, and it was kept in top shape throughout the years by the Toyota dealership at Marina Del Ray. On top of that, I told Brian what I wanted for the tradein in my email. But Nema refused to listen. Throughout the next 1hr or so of negotiation through Facetime, Nema joked (he asked me if I like coffee???), berated our offer for the X1 (even though I forwarded him the offer from the Ventura County dealer), and when I continued to refer to Brian's promise that he would beat the other offer, he told my wife how unreasonable I was and she should just purchase the car since she had the check book. And by the way, Nema's offer was $3,000 more than the offer from the Ventura County dealership. Perhaps Nema thought we were country hicks from Arkansas, and can't do math (I'm a Mechanical Engineering Professor and spent 4 years at UCLA previously as a researcher)At the end, both my wife and I had had enough of Nema and she left Bob Smith feeling sickened by the whole ordeal. The funniest (or the saddest) thing was she never saw the car she went to buy because they never showed it to her. To be fair, since my experience with Bob Smith was limited to Nema and Brian, I cannot condemn the whole dealership based on this single incident. Also, who knows, Nema and Brian can be the best people away from work. But, what I can say for sure is that I will never go back to Bob Smith again for anything because I refuse to do business with anyone who wants to play games with me.

I would have to say this was the least painful car buying experience ever. I reached out to them via the Internet and Brian Mayers was quick to get back to me. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first luxury car buying experience and it was painless. Brian educated me on the models, showed me price points and made me feel at home. Paul asked me what it would take to earn my business and I told him I wasn't ready yet, however, Paul made it happen. He wanted my business on my terms. He spoke to BMW financial and got me approved. The girl in finance was super nice and explained everything in detail and was more than happy to answer questions, even though they were closed. I loved the customer service and the sales team. Found the perfect car in stock via Cars.com - Phoned the dealer and made an appointment that same day. When we pulled up the car was ready and waiting for a test drive. You couldn't find a better dealer to take a test drive from - Winding roads, beautiful scenery - it really makes the experience amazing and allows you to push the BMWs to their max. After the test drive we immediately moved on to negotiating and financing. There was no back and forth. They valued OUR time and you could see they were the moving objects, we just had to sit back and make an informed decision. By the time we finished the dealer was literally closed (lights off, doors locked) and the sales person STILL was providing amazing customer service from a dark lot. Other observations - The support personnel (one of the cleaners/porters) was very generous and attentive while sales & finance worked their parts. Never ignore the 'behind the scenes' people - you could tell people at this dealer have big hearts.

My family members and I were 30+ year customers of Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas, CA. We've bought/leased 10+ cars from them over the years. And I've just come through a really eye-opening ordeal with them that left me without use of my car for two weeks.Beware of Bob Smith BMW and their service dept. and how you will be treated by management, even though they admit in writing that the entire service department was clearly in the wrong with a gross misdiagnosis.Here's the story:I towed in my 2006 X3 on February 10th as it wouldn't start. Was told without any empirical data that my rings were shot -- which is why the engine, with just under 80,000 miles, suddenly had zero compression. The car had just passed the CA Smog Test the week before. Rings don't just suddenly wear out.Was told by my Bob Smith BMW service rep that I could either replace the engine ($13,000 plus cost of diagnostics of $2000, total $15,000) and BMW might kick some money in, or I could buy a new car. I looked into buying a new car. Even "built one" on BMWusa.com and spoke to a sales rep for quite a while based on Bob Smith BMW's say-so that my engine was dead!But something didn't feel right. After repeated calls, and three emails for the GM Catherine Smith to email/call me back -- as she was out of town, we agreed to meet.For nearly four days Bob Smith BMW's service department maintained it was the rings and that my engine was dead. I didn't buy it and told them so. And suddenly on the fourth day (2/13) that they had my car, the engine suddenly had compression again. I towed it out of Bob Smith BMW to another mechanic for an independent review. Gio's Automotive looked at the car, tested it, and verified that I had 165psi across all cylinders, and drove it for hundreds of miles. No compression problem then or now, almost two months later. But I sure seemingly had a compression problem for four days while it was at Bob Smith BMW. And they still can't even tell me how my car suddenly regained compression, but they were sure it was the rings.The GM at Bob Smith BMW, Catherine Smith wrote me: "I am completely horrified and disappointed by the experience you have had with our service department. This is the antithesis of the quality of care we strive to provide. I am very sorry to say the least." Bob Smith BMW owner Tim Smith wrote: "While it may appear to you that you don't matter, nothing could be further from the truth. The problem here is, aside from the fact that some serious mistakes were made, there still remain areas that have no clear answers. One thing is for sure, we have a broken customer. Not one who just arrived on the scene last week, but one with whom we have shared repeated experiences for thirty years and ten or so BMWs."Bob Smith BMW clearly acknowledged that they have a big problem with how I've been treated.What would have happened if I'd not questioned the misdiagnosis and bought a new car? No one at Bob Smith BMW would have ever spent another minute on my 2006 X3. We'd never known that the engine actually still worked. Bob Smith BMW did nothing in the way of repairs, just diagnostics.What did Bob Smith BMW offer to do for me following a very serious misdiagnosis? Two very pleasant face to face meetings -- never any anger on either side. At the first meeting Catherine did offer me an opportunity to help me into a new car. No specifics, but a nice start! Told them I needed some time to consider.However, when I didn't jump at that immediately, and following a meeting at my office with Tim Smith and a followup letter from me suggesting they simply put me into a new car, it all came to a big abrupt halt.Tim Smith wrote: "That's not going to happen. I'm happy to explain in a phone conversation."A phone call took place where Tim pulled the offer of helping me into a new car off the table and basically told me "you go your way and I'll go mine."What? No negotiation at all? Is that how you treat a 30-year customer, who never once got angry, and who probably would buy/lease another 5-7+ cars in the years ahead if he'd been treated with some care and respect?So, if you are a Bob Smith BMW customer, beware when they tell you that your car needs costly repairs. Do your homework!And instead of seeing this through with a calm customer who wanted to solve this, they told me -- we don't want your business. There are now three things I know:1) I'm happy driving my 2006 X3 that still runs fine.2) I have no car payments as I wasn't mislead into buying a new car or engine.3) I know that I won't shop at Bob Smith BMW ever again.Please, read this and pass it along to your fellow BMW owners before they make a costly mistake and accept the diagnosis of an expensive repair at Bob Smith BMW, or elsewhere for that matter.

The absolute best car buying experience I have ever had, and I've been through plenty. I made an appointment at the dealership on the phone with Anthony (I think he's an internet sales guy, not sure) and as soon as I walked in he was there. He passed me off to one of his sales guys--JC--and JC is really the one who made this the easiest purchase I've ever made. JC patiently explained the car's--a 328i M-Sport coupe--features and sat through THREE test drives without once getting impatient or pushy. It's not every day you get that kind of treatment and it really builds a lot of trust with the dealership. That's why I didn't bother with any cheap negotiation tactics and trusted that the dealership priced the car more than fairly (it was a steal). To top it off, Eddie (my finance guy) went through the paperwork so quickly and efficiently that I was out of his office before I could finish my lunch (I was hungry). Prior to this purchase I had a really unfortunate experience with a BMW dealership in Ontario and this time around JC and Bob Smith really built that trust back up; Enough for me to say I'm definitely coming back for my next BMW!

I bought a demo unit 1er not even a month ago, but, it being my first car purchase that dealt with warranty work, I was unsure of procedures, quality, and needing to deal with a... Uh, dealer. Having been a BMW enthusiast for the past couple of years, I had an idea of the service locations where I live, and wound up visiting most of them trying to sort out and source out minor details and find some answers. This line of visits to the various BMW dealers left me completely shaken - I would not only find most of these places severely lacking in either knowledge of the products and the sort, entirely apathetic to help, or just extremely and confusingly rude. I was lied to simply and frankly a time or two. Despite meeting one or two friendly and helpful staff members at these service centers, I did find myself questioning the entire car purchase outright - not due to any fault of the car, but because of what I was finding to be a too common feeling of dissatisfaction with the people involved during warrantied ownership of it. Heck, I waited two weeks to find out what was going on the spare key that was supposedly ordered for me when I purchased the car, only to find out that, not only was it not ready, but the order had never been placed to begin with... During a visit that is an hour's worth of driving because I was unable to get through to anyone via the phone, or have any calls returned. Upsetting, to a degree. Anyway, the one dealer and service center I hadn't visited near me yet, Bob Smith BMW, was recommended to me by the mechanic who works on my older car. So, on that, I made my way there, certain to find dissatisfaction and rude staff. Well, thankfully, I found none of that. As soon as I walked through the doors, I was welcomed by friendly sales staff, a great showroom/extensions, but also an extremely helpful parts and whatnot advisor who could answer the questions other places couldn't, but actually took the time to confirm things as it applied to my car specifically. Overall, a great visit and was what made me decide to schedule my 12,000 mile service there. I'm new to the world of warranty maintenance, and was not completely sure of how it worked. When I arrived for my appointment, I was again greeted with smiles and quick service, and wound up being helped by a service advisor who calmly/patiently walked me through the process and left me feeling confident that everything was in good hands. I also, unexpectedly, discovered that I was able to rent a car free of charge via Enterprise while my car was being worked on. Which, in my opinion, beats a shuttle home or a bench to wait on for a few hours any day. I returned right when my car was being finished up, and completing the signatures for paperwork while the SA explained each item that was dealt with. I received my car, to my relief, not only in working order, but cleaner than when I dropped it off. The wash was actually fairly good, and removed a layer of dirt that was preventing me from getting to work on detailing it. Because I'm lazy, ha. A long review for such a trivial matter, yes? My cars are one of my few passions, and mean a lot to me. So trust is important to me when I leave one of them in the care of someone. Finding the right place that I could find such trust in was made easy for me after finding Bob S BMW. Everyone I met was great at putting my concerns away, and walking away afterwards entirely satisfied with the experience. Something I found very difficult with other locations. When I find myself in the market for another BMW (M2 EuroDeliv? :D), my experience thus far has made Bob Smith the first place I'd try to do business with.

I am new to the BMW brand and was interested in a specific model in a manual transmission (admittedly rare, especially in LA) and Bob Smith was the only dealer in town that had one to drive and look at. Ended up leasing a 320i manual which is an amazing car. Dealt with Larry in sales who was very honest, helpful and fun to work with. The finance process was the easiest I've ever had (I've purchased over a dozen cars in my life)! Even though I did not go to any other BMW dealers (as they were the only ones with the car I wanted) and so don't have another BMW dealer experience to compare, I fully recommend Bob Smith!

I have been doing business with Bob Smith BMW ever since I moved to SOCAL from South Jersey with my 330 Xi. Yesterday we closed a deal on my new 2014 435 i Coupe, my 5th transaction with them over the past 9 years. Two days ago I recieved a call from Natalie Medina to let me know she was interested in speaking with me about some great opportunites they could offer me to consider turning in my 2011 335 IS Convertible a few months early. I am now pleased to say, Natalie and Salman Tareen ensured I walked away in less than 24 hours after that call with an amazing driving machine, satisfied that I made the right choices in dealership, make and model while having a reather pleasant sales experience. I truly felt respected and well taken care of, especially since I have had some challenges in the past with my previous BMWs and have worked with both Natalie and Salman who helped to resolve any concerns I had in those situations. In buying my first BMW and escaping the trongs and benefits of always driving trucks or SUV's, my experience in driving my new 3-series has been great. The service I recieved from Eddie R. (sales) was really good and the quality of my overall experience with him and Matt was the best. I know it's often said but they really went "out of their way" in ensuring that I was comfortable and that my numbers were suitable. With my drive being one coming from the L.A. area, it was well worth the trip in every respect. If I were in Vegas or San Diego, I would do the same all over again to lease or purchase another vehicle. Matt is the best!!! Great looking facility too...

Just bought a car from Bob Smith BMW, a family owned dealership, which had a low mileage Mercedes 550SL that I was looking for. I dealt with JC Reznikoff, one of their internet salespeople, who answered my email questions even at 9:30pm when he should have been home with his family. He was a real pleasure to work with, overcoming his own personal household move to make sure that my car arrived here shortly after the paperwork was complete and overnight Fedex'd, even though I was an out of state purchaser. The entire process, including licensing, shipping and delivery went so smoothly, due to JC's inordinate attention to detail. I would recommend dealing with this car dealer, as my experience was a total pleasure.

After a day of trauma having had my BMW650i car breakdown in Malibu due to a failed Alternator and consequently, a flat battery, I had the car transported via AAA on a flat bed truck to BOB Smith BMW. I found them to be incredibly swift in accommodating a car on a Sunday evening and then soon identifying that the issues were all covered by warranty. So a small $50 excess covered the labor, new alternator, battery and seals etc and the use of a courtesy car for two days saw me on my way as a very happy customer. After all, my car is 5 years old and I was expecting this to cost me a fortune.

This dealership is just flat out terrible. My wife and I bought a 2011 CPO BMW car here in January 2013. It took them almost 6 months to get a replacement plug for the bumper which was noted missing at the time of purchase. I was consistently lied to about when the plug was due to arrive and whether it had been sent. The car had a number of issues which weren't recognized in the CPO process. Coil burned out within 1,000 miles. Fuses were blown that the time of purchase, etc. Not sure how those made it through the report but I've had to bring the car in regularly. I even had to pay to rent a car from Enterprise when the coil was being replaced (I later found out that is supposed to be complimentary). They repainted the front bumper a few days prior to purchase, and 6 months later the paint started peeling off because it was not properly applied. I understand rock-chips, etc, but this involves sections of the paint pealing off in sections all the way down to unprimed, raw plastic. I'll definitely be getting it fixed at another dealership, as the service department (Albert) was kind of jerk when I tried to talk with him about it. I bought another 2011 CPO car in June 2013 from Steve Thomas BMW (definitely not dealing with the clowns at Bob Smith anymore.) I got a way better deal than I would have at Bob Smith, and since I drove the other car in, they offered to get me a replacement plug in 1 or 2 days. Since then, I've had the cars serviced at Santa Barbara BMW, where they are friendly, responsive, and offer free BMW loaner cars while they are working on your vehicle. I definitely would never recommend doing business with Bob Smith.

Always drop your car off for service, request a loaner. The service was impecable and the desire of wanting to work with you was phenomenal. Neil Perlmutter is such a diligent person, he led me through the process and made my purchase smooth. This is the second BMW I buy from him. Additionaly, Tiger, Eddie and Salman (which I got my first BMW from and is now the Sales Manager), were there for me and worked hard on getting me a deal.
