My salesperson, Deb Matticio, was exceptional. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the car I was interested in (the XC90) and was able to answer every question I had. She taught me everything there is to know about the car throughout our meetings/test drives so that by the time I brought my car home I felt completely comfortable navigating all of the features on my own. She sold me on this car without pushing me into anything, I never felt pressured or oversold. She was very respectful of my budget and worked with me to come up with a plan that worked for me. She followed up and was responsive to all of my inquiries, but she was never pushy. She really went out of her way for me...she came in on her day off to help me sign for my new car. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

I bought the car for its safety features and I was impressed. Very impressive as well was the straight forward pricing with no pressure at all. My sales person was Byron Byers, an excellent professional, straight shooter, extremely helpful and awfully courteous. He took son a test drive not around the block as all dealers do but he took us on the highway which gave us a excellent feel of the car. Buy far Alan Byrs is the best most qualified Volvo dealer in the country and I strongly support his bid to be the Volvo dealer in Utica. Other people worth noting are PETER and Justin in Utica.

My car was in Alan Byer's Service recently and I had a outstanding experience. My Service Advisor took the time to explain to me how often my car should be coming in for service and the importance of each service. She truly went above and beyond, I left there feeling confident that Alan Byer's is looking after my best interests. From my advisor Brook right down to the person who cleaned my car it was a great experience. I waited for my repair in their newly renovated waiting room, I was somewhat puzzled how to use the "gourmet" machine. The woman sitting at the greeters desk saw me and immediately came over and explained how to use it to me, also showed me the tv and remote. To my delight there was also a basket of "goodies" which the same woman pointed out to me. My car was returned to me washed and vacuumed, truly impressed by this team.

I have been a totally satisfied customer of Alan Byer Volvo for 14 years when Jeff helped me acquire my first Volvo - a sporty little S40 back in 2001. As time would prove, I didn't purchase just a perfect car, but found a reliable, customer-centered dealership. I have since leased or purchased 5 or 6 new Volvos from Jeff, Byran, and Debbie and couldn't be any happier with the experience. I was, and always have been, treated like I am a VIP whether it be in sales or service. I traded in my 2009 Volvo c70 convertible, a difficult decision, for a 2010 XC60. Living in Upstate NY it only made sense. I test drove other models of all wheel drive vehicles including Subaru. Nothing can match the smooth comfort of Volvo though. Brian was easy to deal with, and when he went on vacation during the process his boss Jeff stepped in for him and took care of all the paperwork. It was seemless. There was never any pressure to buy or to add on extras like undercoating, or other nonsense you get at other dealerships. I highly recomend.

We did not end up purchasing from Byer Volvo, but they were very easy to deal with, and during an otherwise stressful process, that is always greatly appreciated. Bryon was very helpful and up front about everything from the beginning. He even went out of his way to check with the previous owner about extra details on an accident that was on the Carfax. He also was more than happy to discuss the process via text, which was a nice change of pace. Sometimes you just want a quick answer, and most of the dealerships we went to wouldn't say a word about the car, pricing, etc...without a phone call followed by 10 more phone calls and an overblown sales pitch. In the end we went with another car, but out of all the dealers in Syracuse, Byer was the most transparent about everything involved. They just didn't have the model we were focused on purchasing - wish they did!

I had an overall good experience with this dealership. They have great prices for Volvos as long as you are willing to take what is in stock, which is pretty standard. Bryon, the salesman, was willing to pick me up locally and complete the deal after normal closing hours for the dealership. I drove off happy after 10pm. The S60 has amazed me so far, 250 hp and 31+ combined MPG!

We visited ABV on a suggestion from friends that have purchased a few Volvos over the last several years... and we're glad that we did. What we found was a professional, personable, and knowledgable agent in BB. Straight talk about the car, our trade-in, and a convincing test drive help seal our switch to ABV and a Volvo. We have not owned it long enough to comment on reliability, but the smooth drive, very adequate performance, and comfort is making us think that we made the right move and with the right dealer.

I was given a price by Bryon Byer to come in and once I drove the car the price changed dramatically. Because my wife wanted the car, I was reluctant to buy but I eventually did. Bryon was dishonest from the start but the Volvo SUV we purchased is what she wanted and it was the closest vehicle to our Syracuse home. Before you make the same mistake and spend 10 to 15% more, avoid Byer, especially Bryon.

My husband and I had seen the new Volvos at Destiny displayed all winter when we did our mall walking, so when looking for a new car later this summer, I went to Alan Byer Volvo. I was lucky with my timing to have Bryon as my salesperson and he was great. Very personable, low key and a completely no pressure sales approach. He had no problem giving me quotes right then and there for both used and new cars available, without dragging out the process endlessly. This did not happen at other car dealerships I visited where it as a very , very long process. After thinking about it and not losing out on the promotion, we made a deal very easily and because they didn't have color in stock that I liked, offered to search around the next day and find us one. The next day, Bryon let me know they found one. All around, great experience and I love the car.

He was not in attack position, he listened to our needs let us talk and showed us an amazing vehicle we leased within an hour.... We leased a Volvo S60 Sedan. Wow ! what a car.... Bryon also knew everything about the vehicle and answered all of our questions. We are very happy to know the vehicle is covered for the length of our 39 month lease for all repairs, which include oil changes brakes and wipers. I was looking for a Ford Fusion hybrid on line and found a 2010 at Alan Byer Volvo. I emailed that I would stop by and when I got there the vehicle had just arrived and was in the garage to be looked over. I was transferred to Byron who took me for a test drive without giving me an earful of information I didn't want. Upon returning to the dealership we sat down and he immediately offered a reduction of $1,000 and when I made an offer he responded quickly and without having "check with his manager" and making me wait. The whole thing took 1-1/2 hours and was actually enjoyable. The car never made it to the lot. Turns out his last name was Byer which I don;lt think he would have ever told me if I hadn't seen his card. Nice job Byron.

If you are shopping for a new or used car, Bryon is the guy to see. I was skeptical about salesman in general - their tactics, mark-ups, and games. However, after this buying experience my perspective has been totally changed. Bryon is a low pressure guy to work with and really made me feel that he was going to get me the best deal possible. I ended up saving a ton of money over any other dealer in the area and I am very pleased with my vehicle. Bryon was very reassuring that should I have ANY problems he would rectify them quickly and completely. Look for the guy with the long hair. He won't disappoint and is willing to go the extra mile for his customers!

I decided to switch from Audi to Volvo because of an unacceptable number of issues with my A4 which seemed to by beyond the limited competence of the service department at Burdick Audi. I was very impressed when I drove an AWD S60 T6 at Alan Byer Volvo in Syracuse. The car is very comfortable, quiet, handles very well, has amazing power, and the best safety features in the industry. Bryon, my sales rep, was a delight to work with. He was informative, competent, congenial and was not high pressuring. He brought together a price and package that worked for me and got me into this Volvo. The quality of the customer service I experienced was miles beyond what you expect from your average dealership. I would definitely come back.

I bought my Volvo from a local dealer, I had never owned a Volvo so didn't know much except what the dealer said..which wasn't much. At 49000 miles my car broke down I called the folks I bought it from they could offer me nothing. So I decided to call Alan byer to see if they could answer some questions about my car. Not only did thy answer my questions they researched my car and found I had warranty that would possibly cover the issue. So my car went to the Utica dealership. I was informed every step of the way and provided with a vehicle to drive. The service is just amazing I have never ever been treated so well by a car dealership. When I picked my car up all questions were answered and I was informed of future service dates. I will absolutely purchase my next Volvo from them. Alan byer exceeds any dealer in the area!

We viewed this car (2006 Z4) online and eventually placed a deposit on it after a combination of emails and phone calls. Bryon was very courteous and patient throughout the process. He even rechecked the tread depth of the tires and decided they should be replaced even though they passed the state inspection standards. We drove four hours from Erie, PA and the car was detailed and ready to test drive when we arrived. We each test drove the car then filled out the necessary paperwork. We were home by 5:00pm. Now all we need is warm weather to put the top down and enjoy the ride on new ultra high performance tires.

We were looking to trade our faithful 2002 Volvo S80 T6 on a 2009 S80 T6 with low mileage. Bryon Byer took care of the transaction in a thoroughly professional manner and was easy to work with. He acted at all times like he wanted to earn our business. I think we made a fair deal for both parties and we are happy with the car so far. I only wish the car prep dept. had paid attention to the dual exhaust tips and cleaned them up. My advice would be to make a prep list for Bryon to give to them. He will follow-up.

This was our 3rd Volvo purchase and the first one from Alan Byer and it was by far our best one yet! Our salesman was Bryon Byer and the entire experience we received from Bryon was top notch all the way. He listened to what we were looking for and explained all the features on the car as the xc90 we purchased had nearly every option we could think of! Bryon never pressured us and the deal we made on this used vehicle was great and we got a great price on our trade in. The car we purchased was very clean it was delivered in showroom shape when we picked it up. We also got some additional great news when we arrived to pick up our car. Bryon informed us that during the final inspection by the service department at Alan Byer they noted that the tires, although they passed inspection, were somewhat low on tread and they put on a brand new set of tires on the car without us even asking for it! That is what I call great service! We have taken our other Volvos to Alan Byer for services and have never had an issue and found the service department to be top notch in our book. From the moment we stepped on the lot Bryon helped us in any way he could. We will definitely be back the next time we need a new Volvo and looking for Bryon!

I can't say enough about working with this dealer and in particular, Bryon Byer. I had planned to purchase another Mercedes wagon but wanted to just take a look at the Volvo. I was fortunate that Bryon was the salesperson assigned to the task. Working with a pushy salesperson is enough to make me leave a dealer. Bryon was very low-keyed and patiently showed my husband and me the car and all its features. He followed through with information that he promised to send. He suggested appropriate enticements to purchase a Volvo! I can honestly say that if I hadn't dealt with Bryon I would probably be driving a Mercedes wagon. I LOVE my Volvo wagon and all the wonderful saftey features that it has. Our dog has plenty of room in the back. The car drives like a dream.

Bryon Byer spent a lot of time to help me with the decision making process. He never pressured me and made me feel relaxed the whole time. Once I decided what I wanted he spent the necessary time finding exactly the car I wanted. The challenges of finding the exact model and options would have made it easy to just try to push me into something else but he didn't try that at all. He just found what I wanted and got it here. He has been very willing to share his vast knowledge of all the workings of the new technologies within my XC 60 and worked very hard to ensure I was comfortable with all of them. Highly recommend Bryon to any one looking for that perfect car. This is our family's 4th Volvo and will certainly not be our last.

After I had my last one for 7 years I switched over to a Mercedes for a couple years. I am happy to be back in a Volvo. I took a while to purchase the car, about 2 months. Buying a new car made Easy/Fun. I went into this dealership for the fist time expecting the same old car dealership experience. Boy, I was wrong.. I was between a BMW or Volvo S60 R-Design. I bought my first Volvo when my kids were old enough to drive; then I was driven by SAFETY. I keep each Volvo for ten years and now I am buying my third . My choice is still driven by safety, but in addition, I have learned to expect and respect Volvo's reliability. Now my children drive Volvos because now they have children..and so the cycle continues. I enjoy doing business at Byer's because I never feel pressured to buy. They could have the most wonderful vehicle on four wheels, but an aggressive sales person would make me walk away. Bryon Byer was patient and professional encouraging me to drive different models. He never appeared to need to be somewhere else and even after my purchase, when the deal was done,did he ever flinch about teaching me about all the accessories on my new XC60; he patiently reviewed (sometimes multiple times) all the technological aspects of the car. He did not let the technology intimidate me and I am certainly of an age where it could and oftentimes has. I was in the market for a used car and decided to use Car.com and found that Alan Byer had a car that seemed to fit what I was looking for, 2010 Subaru Forester. I stopped at the dealer after work to look over the car and found that it was not in Syracuse, it was at their Utica dealership. The young saleman Bryon said that he could have the car back in Syracuse for me to look at any time I wanted to come down. We made an appointment to come down on Saturday to look at the car. I took the car for a test drive and found it to be very clean and in very good condition. We asked if it would be possible for us to take the car to our reapir shop for the owner to look at and determine if it would be a good value for the money. Bryon took the car to our mechanic the following Monday and left it for them to look over carefully. The car had just over 46,000 miles and our repair shop gave it a favorable review and we returned to the dealer to finalize the deal. Bryon was very helpful in getting the car back to Syracuse for us to look. Where other dealers were not so willing for us to take a car to someone to lool at, Bryon had no problem with our request. He was very courteous and very helpful. Thanks.

My husband suggested test driving a XC60 but I was reluctant because I didn't like the look of the older, smaller models. I test drove it and absolutely loved it. After meeting Bryon Beyer and having him explain a little about the newer models, I was more interested. I was interested in a family friendly vehicle that seats 7. Bryon offered to test drive the XC90. His no pressure approach was refreshing. He went out of his way to let us look at a car that was just in and had not been detailed yet. I had been wanting a pre-owned Mercedes Benz as a second car and found the perfect model with low milage at Alan Beyer Volvo. Bryon Beyer was most helpful in explaining all the features of this car and let me test drive it. By the time I got home, he had already obtained financing for me. I hadn't made up my mind, so I declined the offer, but stayed in touch with Bryon and followed the car online, hoping that it would still be available. I went to Alan Byer Volvo in search of a used car on my way home from work, not knowing what I would find. I have typically been a BMW or Audi guy but the new-model, refreshed Volvos are spectacular. I ended up falling in love with a beautiful blue S60 that was on the lot. My sales associate, Bryon Byer, did an excellent job educating me about the vehicle and assuring me that it would meet my needs. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of negotiation, or lackthereof. It really was a painless experience and the delivery of the car was quick, simple, and informative. On my way home from the delivery, I noticed a chip in the windshield which I had not discovered previously. I returned to the dealership the next day and explained the problem. Bryon treated me like an old friend and my windshield was repaired for free by the end of the next day. In the interim I was provided a complimentary loaner car to get around. Whenever I need an oil change or other types of service it is a breeze (they service more than just Volvos). I am provided with a free loaner car and given concise estimates of the work to be done. Being a businessman, I want a no-nonsense experience and Alan Byer consistently provides this. They are a big enough dealership to offer great prices and service but small enough and family oriented to make you feel like they care. Other than not finding the chip in my windshield beforehand, which was a minor inconvenience, they have always exceeded my expectations.

Went in as a last resort to look at an XC60 after test driving BMW X3, Audi Q5, and a few other vehicles and fell in love with a black XC60 R Design. My wife and I realized it was 10 minutes before closing, and were ready to come back tomorrow. However, Bryon Byer walked out and was ready to help. They made us a great deal on our trade in and addressed most of my concerns before taking delivery. The overall process was super smooth and easy. Bryon answered many questions for me and even tried to get a better interest rate than originally quoted, which he was successful. My only quam, though small, is that there was less than half a tank of gas. Every ti e I have purchased a car in the past, it was delivered with a full tank. They do not care, they do not keep any promises regarding time frame of work completion and they up sell every part of the repair process.In the Syracuse area I would find any other European repair center, garage or dealership rather than this place.

Drove from Rochester to Syracuse after they said the car was on hold until I arrived and would not be sold. When I arrived they advised me that the car was sold while I drove the 1.5 hours to the auto dealership. Don't trust Chris Williams . The best Stephen Byer could do was to say sorry after I wasted four hours. This is why car dealers get a bad reputation.

My experience did not start out well, due to another employee, but Mr. Brian Lawton made sure that I left the dealership well satisfied with my service visit. He apologized for the other employees overbearing behavior towards me. My vehicle was over the mileage for its scheduled maintenance, but Mr. Lawton allowed the service to be gratuitous. I did not even have to inform him of my lack of knowledge in the concept of scheduled maintenances.

We purchased a 2008 XC70 from Alan Byer. They removed the factory-issued / factory-recommended tires and replaced them with Yokohoma tires that are not recommended by the factory, and are not factory issued. When I wanted to replace two front tires. three tire dealders would not (and could not) sell me Yokohoma tires as they are inappopriate for the vehicle as they may negatively impact handling. Alan Byer informed me that they changed the tires in order to reduce the purchase price of the vehicle (aka make more money) and that they would sell me two more non-recommended Yokohoma tires. They are just about the sale and have no concern for customer satisfaction or safety.

I purchased my brand new Volvo and was more than pleased for the first month until it started leaking water through the roof. I had the vehicle serviced several times, and each time it was not fixed. Volvo told me that the vehicle was to there standards even though it leaked. Unless you want a poor vehicle matched by even worse service department don't go to this dealership. I will not ever buy another Volvo again.

After test driving a C30 in one dealership, I dealt with different Volvo dealers across upstate NY to find the vehicle, options and price closest to what my wife wanted. Paul and Alan Byer were quick to respond, efficient, and answered all of our questions. The only time we visited the dealership was to pick up the car. Paul had all the documents ready to go- took only 10-15 minutes to complete the transaction. Paul then patiently walked us through the features of the car and even programmed my wife's phone into the car's bluetooth system for her. A little thing, but meant a lot. Completely satisfied with my experience with Paul and Alan Byer.

My husband and I decided upon a 2011 XC60 after spending many months researching crossovers and sedans. My husband is Army, and we had a car program available to us in which we could find dealers who give nice discounts to members of the military- sadly, the closest to us was about 300 miles away. Armed with the numbers that the dealers offered through the service, my husband and I went to Alan Byer and worked with J. Barson. After citing everything that I wanted in a car (it was for me) down to the color and packages, Alan Byer met the discount of any of the other dealerships that we would have had to drive hours for. The only complaint I have is that when choosing whether we wanted the heated rear seats or booster seats, the salesman did not inform us that the built-in booster seats were an additional $500, or that they weren't really that necessary (we are starting a family soon, neither of us have experience with car seats and whatnot). The salesman also got us a less than 3% APR, which was better than what our bank was offering, so that was fantastic in and of itself. The wait for the custom made car was about 7 weeks (they do not keep many of the XC60s in stock and the ones they had were not what we were wanting, but there is no fee for custom building direct from the Volvo plant, just a long wait). I called to inquire about military reduction in registration fee to which our salesman replied he was not aware of any (he should have researched this b/c the is in fact one, but only on special plates which we did not want anyway). Overall, they did a great job and we paid a very fair price for a fully-loaded XC60. I would highly recommend to any military family, especially.

I placed a $500 deposit on a used BMW being sold by Alan Byer over the phone, shortly before they closed for the night. This deposit was verbally made conditional on my complete satisfaction with the condition and quality of the vehicle, since I had at the time only seen it online. The salesperson assured me multiple times that I would be refunded and not be obligated to go through with the purchase should I discover that it's not in the condition I expected. He stressed that they were a "very professional" dealership who would make sure I was satisfied. I did not sign anything. The next morning, I asked the service department of a local BMW dealership to look up the vehicle's maintenance history and discovered a number of serious problems including a piston seizing in the engine and the complete failure of the clutch along with numerous other leaks throughout the vehicle's history. These have since been repaired, but all of this was highly abnormal for a vehicle of this age and mileage, which led me to think that the vehicle had been abused or problematic to start with. This made me dissatisfied with the condition of the vehicle, so I contacted them the following morning to inform them of my decision not to proceed.However, I was still charged for the deposit and I contacted my salesperson to refund it. After not hearing back from him, I ended up filing a dispute through my credit card. Once they received the chargeback notice, a manager there called me to apologize for the mistake as he claimed that they did not realize that the money was never refunded to me. He was understanding and stated that it was a simple oversight on my part, and that he was sorry I had to go through the trouble. In the end, it all worked out -- they sold the car to another buyer, I bought another new car with lower mileage, and they made right on my deposit. Water under the bridge, I suppose.

Best place to buy a car in upstate NY. They really work with you to find the best deal. The other thing I like about them is the service department as they give you a loaner car. Once you become a customer they work hard to keep your business. I have purchased probably 4 cars from them, and get all my service done there including non Volvo cars. If there is ever a problem it is always immediately addressed and fixed to my satisfaction.
