Just recently went to get my car serviced here and it was a good experience. I dropped my car off and had a rental for the night. They keep you updated and even send a report of the checkpoints to your phone! Coming back to a clean car with a complementary car wash doesn't hurt either. I will definitely be back as they aim to please their customers.

When you buy or lease all dealerships want to make the deal, but is up to do your homework and know your getting a good deal. In the past I have walked out if I felt the dealer was playing games. That was not the case at Acura of Ocean, The salesmen Mr. Doug Meyes was great and took the time showing me the vehicle I was thinking of buying. In the end my trade in price was fair as was the selling price. But buying or lease of a vehicle is only half the story of any dealership. That's why I have not written a review till now, Its almost a year, and half of this review is about service when you need it. In a word it is excellent, so if you looking for an Acura vehicle this is a good dealership to check. As for my 2016 MDX it runs well and gets great mileage for AWD vehicle.

My wife and I were given a recommendation to purchase an Acura from Ocean Acura and told to ask for a salesperson by the name of Mark Klang because our friend had had a very nice experience with that salesman. We met with Mark and he first told us about the car and the dealership. Then we took the exact model we were buying for a test ride. All the time Mark was telling us about the features in real time. Two days later we picked up our new Acura Tlx With navg. But before leaving the dealership Mark went thru all the features of the car with us. I have been leasing with Acura of Ocean now since 2004.Just traded in my existing lease for a new 2016 MDX and the transaction went extremely smooth.Mark Klang is the salesman I have been dealing with for many years and I feel like I have now known him all my life. Emailed him with what I was looking for and what I hoped to pay and upon walking in the deal was pretty much in place. We spent more time talking about personal stuff than negotiating which makes the experience great. a. they will get a 5 star rating as soon as I receive my 2nd set of keys :)b. I saw a car on their site and started texting Larry. Larry wasn't pushy and answered my questions very well (when I was there at the dealership, he made a point to come out and say hello). I then setup a time to test drive. Even though they were closing at 8pm they let me come up around 7:45 (which anyone should but it was nice they didn't try to push me off till the next day). when I got there I met a salesmen, Salvatore Gentile, who had the car ready to test drive and didn't have me sit down and start grilling me for all my information. we made another appt. to come up the next day. Sal, showed me the cost of the car and all the fees. I mentioned a price and he said that might be tough (but he was willing to try) so I mentioned a little higher and told him I don't want to keep haggling (I knew my prices on the car). Told him I would take the car right now if he could get the price. Sal came back, without haggling and the car was bought. They took care of a couple of other little details on the car. Later when we came back to meet Justin (financial loan manager) I told him I was in a rush and he knew that. He explained the many warranties, which I said no to and he didn't harp on them. He got all the paperwork done in like 5 minutes and I was out of there. kudos to all at Ocean of Acura and to the detailer who took care of a couple of things on the car. Sal, Great job and thank you (just need that extra key for a 5 star)

Hi hit a deer on 12/22/15. It is now 2/2/16 and I am still waiting on back ordered parts. Insurance no longer covered a rental. Ocean of Acura has not stepped in and stood behind their product to help a client out. Time to find a new dealership once this lease is up.

Doug Meyer was our salesmen and he was nothing but a professional with our best interest in mind. We had to wait about a month for our vehicle to be delivered in which time Doug provided updates and was able to tolerate my calls in between his for updates. They are really nice during the actual car buying process and very helpful. Their service department is the downfall of this Acura dealership. I have complained numerous times about my brakes and window and have gotten nowhere with it. My brakes squeak and I am told that it is normal but to try "aggressively braking" to remove the lining that apparently causes the issue. Sure. Let me put myself in danger and aggressively brake to fix a problem that on a brand new luxury car should not be there in the first place. My driver side window is loose and rattles when I leave it open while driving. The service department had several of their techs drive it and they have no idea what I am talking about. They actually fixed it the first time and it was fine but it broke again. Not only does it rattle but there is now a big smudge mark that shows up anytime I lower and raise the window. When I raised this concern along with the rattling to the service department, the rattling was dismissed and the smudge is simply something that I will have to "deal with."Out of all of this I got a complimentary oil change and tire rotation. They filled the tires wrong so my psi's are all over the place. Ultimately I just told the service representative that I work long hours and no longer have the time to keep bringing the car back to get looked at only to be told there is nothing wrong. Instead of showing any remorse, their response was that they also work long hours. I am glad I leased this car because I now know for sure that I should have gone to Lexus like I originally planned on doing so. Doesn't matter the level of luxury of car you buy, if the service department is not on the same level then you might as well just buy anything and call it a day. Really disappointed.

We decided it was time to buy our first SUV and had a list of four different models we reviewed and priced on Edmunds. Our first stop was Acura of Ocean to look at the RDX. Rich Wenger met us as we walked in and took us out for a test drive. We told Rich we liked the car, but had had three other dealerships to visit before making a decision. Rich introduced us to the Sales Manager, Dan Rupp who wanted to know what he could do to convince us to buy the car today. Rich and Dan discussed the various packages, factory discounts, and financing available, but wouldnt give us an actual price until you are ready to buy the car. This put us off a bit, but we didnt feel pressured to make a quick decision. Our visit to the next three dealerships (Nissan, Mazda & Infiniti) was not nearly as pleasant an experience. The level of professionalism was lacking, prices were higher than what we expected, and some of the vehicles just didnt seem as appealing as the RDX. We went back home to go over our notes and make a decision on the contenders. After going over everything it was clear the Acura RDX was our winner. The next day we sat down with Rich, talked turkey, and he quickly came up with an offer we couldnt refuse. The color and package we wanted wasnt in their inventory, but they quickly located the vehicle for us. When we went back to pick up the car it was smooth sailing through their Finance department. Rich personally sat down with us in the vehicle and went over all of the controls and returned my wifes EZ-PASS sensor he found in our trade-in. Now thats service with a smile!Weve owned the car eight months now, love it, and have had no issues. Rich has called us a few times to check in and make sure we are happy with the car. I also recently received an email from Larry Brennan, Customer Relations Manager offering us a free oil change and multi-point inspection. We are both retired and only have about 2,000 miles on the RDX, but will take him up on the offer. Ive had my 2003 Acura CL-S in for service at Ocean of Acura, most recently for an airbag recall. They are always professional and no surprises!

I have leased or purchased several Acuras from Acura of Ocean over the last 10 years and have been extremely satisfied. Besides the cars themselves being great automobiles, it has been the dealership itself that is most outstanding. I have been dealing with both Dan and Rob, the managers, and the last few times Rich who has been my salesperson. From the top down they have always provided me with the "red carpet" treatment. Rich is just the best...an all around nice guy, no pressure at all and a pleasure to work with. Justin in finance makes things quick and easy and the service department has always been very accommodating. Great all around dealership!

I recently purchased a 2013 acura rdx from a friend whose lease was up. I was fortunate to have Justin Schlam handling the financial transactions for me. It was a little complicated because the car was registered in NJ and I had to have it registered in NY. I also had to get a car loan. Justin was terrific in handling all aspects, he kept me in the loop constantly, got me quotes on varying terms for the loan. His pleasant personality, knowledge and concern made a confusing process a pleasure and saved me the headache of running around to the DMV in NY. He went over all the paperwork and made sure I understood everything. He is a great asset to Acura. I also had to have the car inspected and have nothing but good things to say about their service department. I dealt with Brian and others whose names I forgot, sorry, but my experience was great. We needed routine preventative maintenance performed on our 2005 Acura TL. We scheduled an appointment and were given a loaner car while the car was in for service. We then received a call stating the technician performed a Multi Point inspection and recommends additional service. Maria, our Service Advisor was very nice and explained the recommendations in detail. We approved the recommendations. After we drove the loaner car home and reviewed the documents and found out that the insurance card in the loaner car was expired. We notified Acura of Ocean and were told to bring the loaner car back to the dealership. We brought the loaner car back and given another loaner car. The other loaner car also had an expired insurance card. We spoke to the service manager, Steve Cotter about this issue and he was rude and unprofessional. We also spoke to Marc Rediker, Manager of the dealership about this issue and he stated all loaner cars on the dealership lot have an expired insurance card. For some reason, we did not get valid insurance cards in time but, all our loaner cars are insured. The next day, we got a call stating your car is ready to be picked up. When we went to pick up the vehicle all recommended work as per the Multi Point inspection sheet was not performed. From this experience, I highly recommended customers to check your loaner car documents before you drive off the dealership lot. Otherwise be prepared for a ticket with a mandatory court date and possibly having your car impounded as per the law in the State of New Jersey.

Stopped in to dealership this afternoon to look at the MDX and RDX. Not greeted upon arrival. Went over to the RDX in the showroom where I was then approached by what I thought was a salesman. After a few minutes of discussing the vehicle, he informed me that he was the sales manager(forgot his name) and would send a salesman over. At least five or more minutes passed, and no one approached me. Needless to say I walked out. Is this any way to run a business?

We were buying a new 2015 or newer 2014 low mileage loaner before 2014 ended. Went to dealer on Dec 28 2014 Test drove 2015 Mdx was told that they also had some loaners that weren't listed yet and he would inquire. We told him we would be back on Wed the 31 since we had 3 young children with us and needed to get them home He assured us a phone call regarding our inquiries! suffice it to say never a call back(a not so commission hungry car salesman who makes a minimal base salary ????) IDK. ,But nonetheless bought a new Acura 2015 mdx from another dealer much further away.... A simple phone call dude would have done it. The common courtesy of a return call or lackthereof cost him commish and the dealer one less vehicle moved before year end!! They certainly entered my info into the system since I have already received several emails from them regarding nonsense promotions etc..... Poor salesmanship poor mgmt. maybe who knows. I guess there is good reason why car dealerships/salesman are so negatively stereotyped case in point

1 star is way to generous. 2013 Acura TL with 20k miles. Went to have the oil changed and tires rotated. Immediately tried to sell me things I didn't need. After we agreed to just oil change and tire rotation they called me while servicing my car and insisted I spend another $600 or the car was going to break down. Again I refused and they didn't like that and sarcastically told me that they are making note and that "you've been warned". When I picked the car up I noticed that they hadn't rotated the tires because of a gouge I put in the front right wheel (trust me... the scraping on a curb was painfully burned into my memory)... They insisted it was done and even showed me a surveillance video in which you could barely see the rear left corner of the car. I asked him to show me the other side and said he didn't have it. But he insisted that the mechanic could do no wrong or make any mistakes and sarcastically told me that "he believed me" and he would rotate them back as if they were already done. After that insult I said just credit me the amount for the tire rotation... he refused and told me never to call for another service appointment. How this clown (S.C.) is the general manager is beyond me. The reviews for this dealership are overwhelmingly negative so I can only imagine how many people they've screwed. Mean, Nasty and unprofessional.... don't waste your time or money.


I am not a fan of Acura of Ocean, New Jersey.

I recently went in to talk to a salesman about purchasing a pre-owned automobile. The interactions were pleasant enough until we got to discussions over the price. The salesman offered one amount. When I countered with a lower amount, he asked for a credit card as a show of good faith, and then asked me to wait while he had a lengthy discussion with his manager. When they returned, the sales manager took over the negotiations and raised the price. By this time, I had already invested a good part of my morning at this dealer and I suspect that the manager was hoping that I would just cave and agree to the salesman's original price. I would normally have accepted the sales manager's explanation that this was just a simple lack of communication between sales manager and salesperson, except that the exact same thing happened to me before at this dealer. I understand businesses have to make money, but this type of behavior is both disrespectful and unprofessional. Im not sure who is training the salespeople at Acura of Ocean but they need to understand that their customers are smarter than they are giving us credit for. This behavior just reinforces the poor reputation associated with salespeople in the automobile industry. I have nothing against the product being sold by Acura. If you are interested in buying one of their cars, I recommend working with another dealer.

This dealership is growing on me. By that, I mean that I am growing to like and appreciate the dealership more and more in the afterglow of their sales/our buying experience. My emerging epiphany about the dealership experience comes from the realization that the stars are the cars; that's what brings us into the showroom and that's what we go home with. In retrospect It also occurred to me that some things that were conspicuous in their absence, e.g. high pressure "this guy, then that guy says" games, further contributed to the effortless and comfortable atmosphere in the dealership and nature of the experience. The dealership has all the requisite elements that you are looking for; well appointed, comfortable showroom and service waiting area, great coffee "and", etc. all contained inside a family type friendly environment. The price was good but I made the trip primarily because my initial phone discussions and email communication with Acura of Ocean was so much more pleasant the other dealers whose ads I responded to. Usually, the others left me thinking that they are advertising a car they no longer had then tried to sell me something I didn't want. I knew the exact parameters of what I wanted. They did what they had to make the sale i brought in a competitor offer and they matched. I had 2 months left on my old acura lease with a lot overage miles on it. we reach an agreement where i paid extra on the new lease and would be free and clear of the old excess millage. ok . However a month later i got a bill from acura financial for the excess millage charge and had to pay. I went in after that multiple times and called them as well only to be brushed off not nice of them very shady. would not have expected this. I went to have service for a recall issue. When I arrived, I asked if someone could check on another issue if there was time to do so. Attached to my windshield there is a rain sensor which regulates how often the intermittent wipers are activated. This rain sensor is covered by a plastic cover, similar to one for a fuse box. This plastic cover came off and I was unable to reattach it figuring the notch had snapped off or something. Without this cover, the sensor itself hangs downward by several wires unable to react. I temporarily taped it against the windshield with electrical tape so that it could function properly. I was told that the cover could not be reattached, that I would have to replace the entire windshield including the rear view mirror because everything was built in to the windshield and that the cost was roughly $450. I am not saying the customer service representative was in any way at fault and I have absolutely no grievance with her as she was simply the messenger of a diagnosis given to her my the actual auto technician. I believe the technician did not realize the true issue was simply reattaching the plastic cover which I left in the car for their inspection, or the purchase of a new cover that I told the customer service representative I could snap on myself. Afterwards I received a phone call survey and explained to them of my experience. I then received another phone call from the customer service representative herself asking me why I had rated my experience as an eight instead of a ten and she was very concerned about not receiving a perfect score. I told her the rating of an eight was not about her, but of the overall experience. $450 seems like a ridiculous amount of money to correct such a minor issue. Wouldn't you agree?

My wife and I stopped by the Acura dealer because she needed a new car, and she loved the Acura she's been driving the past 8 years. We bought her last Acura from a non-Acura dealer, so I had never been to this or any other Acura dealer. I hate going to any car dealers because I always feel like the salespeople pressure you into getting what turns out to be a lousy deal. How wrong I was!!! Acura of Ocean is the complete opposite of every car-buying experience I've ever had. Mark Gershman (my salesman) was very knowledgable in all the vehicles we looked at, and he helped my wife narrow her choice to our eventual purchase. He really knew his stuff!!! I met one of the owners (Russell Rediker) and between the two of them, they gave me a great deal. (I know I got a great deal because I did my research between the first and second visit) I was a little nervous about the financing, but Russell assured me he had a lot of connections with banks and he would get me a great deal. I brought my Acura RDX to have my air conditioning diagnosed and repaired. Alison Peterson was my service advisor. While she was wonderful, I had a difficult experience with my getting my car's problem FIXED. I had to take my car into the dealership THREE times, and I am still not confident that my air conditioning is fixed. It is functioning now, but I have had INTERMITTENT problems in the past month. I cannot say whether or not it was the nature of the problem or the service technicians at the dealership. After taking my car in three times, I am cautiously hopeful that the problem was corrected. Once my wife and I decided which car we wanted, we called a few dealerships to compare prices. Ocean had the best price by far and was most eager to work with us. The sales manager actually took my call and gave me the best price off the bat. Then he handed it over to Rob Fishman who handled our business with care and professionalism. I had a chance to visit Ocean Acura today to take my girlfriend to test drive the new TL AWD. I have a ZDX and love it and really love the acura brand. My girlfriend has a BMW for 2 years and wants a new car. I figured she would love the TL as I love the ZDX. I went into Ocean Acura and met with a salesman and asked for a test drive of the new TL.. He said sure no problem just give me your license. My girlfriend was on her way there from work and I wanted to have the test drive ready for her when she got there.About ten minutes later I was outside waiting for my girlfriend and Steve Cotter(MGR) comes out and calls me over to him and says sorry we dont want your business and you can not test drive one of his cars.He says to me that I had caused an issue with his boss Russell Redeker in the past. So what he was talking about is what i think happened last year when I sent my neighbor in to buy a ZDX as he loved mine and Steve Cotter(MGR) gave him a price and took a deposit and when my neighbor shopped around the same night found the car for $4000 less and Steve Cotter(MGR) told him he cant have his deposit back and that my neighbor would have to sue him to get a refund. This is classic Steve Cotter (MGR) scumbag way of treating people. Over the last 10 years myself and dozens of people I know have tried to buy Acura's from them and they always turn out to be the nastiest, most dishonest bunch of people in the industry.I once again tried to give them my business today and they prove themselves to be scumbags and horrible business people. It's amazing but as you read so many of the other reviews on this site it shows how many people actually hate these bastards.The fact that the Redeker family can leave this nightmare of a guy in charge of this dealership is incredible. I have to believe that Steve Cotter has a secret on the Redeker family and cant be fired.The most incredible thing for me is that they have the worst rating as an acura dealer in the entire country and Acura hasn't done anything about this yet ?I ask anyone who has negative dealings with Steve Cotter to write to Acura and complain about his lying, stealing and cheating people out of money. When I first read the dealer's reviews, I was hesitant to drive 75 min to see a vehicle I was interested in. I spoke w/Mike Madden (sales mgr) who said he would make it worth the trip. So, I decided to give him a chance. He gave me a good price over the phone to get me to come and see the vehicle. He was very friendly, accommodating and easy to deal with. He also worked w/me on my trade. The only complaint I have was w/the CPO department. They missed a few things when they inspected the vehicle. There were bolts/screws missing from underneath on the heat shield and mud guards. I was able to take it to my local dealer for repair.However, everything else has been fine on the vehicle. My wife recently went to look at a used car that was for sale at ACura of Ocean. Jay Pickelny the salesman gave all her the information on the car and took her for a test drive. He treated her as a serious buyer even though I was not with her. I subsequently went back several times to test drive the car and then negotiate a fair price for the car. Jay was extremely pleasant to deal with, he was very easygoing and we never felt any presure to make a purchase. He also made sure were were completely satisfied once we decided to purchase the car. Just prior to the purchase we noticed a few small details that needed to be fixed. These items were fixed even after the purchase was completed and Jay made sure that we were completed satisfied. My car was in an accident and needed a new engine. It was brought to Acura Ocean. After having the car for a while, they promised me it would be done 1/15/11 .. it was not. They then gave me a loaner car. I called them on 1/24/11, and they said it would be ready either 1/25/11 or the morning of 1/26/11. It was not. I needed to continue to drive the loaner car. On 1/29/11 the loaner car had a flat tire. When my car was ready to be picked up, 1/31/11, I was told I had to pay $290 for the replacement tire. My complaint is, that the car should have been ready when they promised me. The loaner car had over 19,000 miles on it. The tire was NOT new. The manager was rude, and unreasonable. All he wanted was the money, and didn't care about me. He told me had I been driving my car, I still would have had the flat tire, He totally missed thepoint that his service department stunk, and that if i did have a flat with my car, i would have bought a new tire for ME, and not for them. They missed the date that they promised my car to be done by 2 weeks and 3 days. I felt that I should not have been treated rude, and not have to pay $290 for a new tire to replace their old faulty tire which was on the car.

Go but never give them a bad revue on a servery(tell the truth when you dont like something) or they will bar you.Last year I went in to the dealership wanting to buy a car, but could not agree on the price they said the price was unreasonable (was was able to get similar price at another dealership). As a result of a visit I took offense in the sales tactics that were used, and wrote a email to that effect to the GM of the dealership, he replied and asked to see the sale invoice for the car that I had purchased at another dealer so I forwarded the the invoice. Now, I tried to service the car the adviser set up an appointment for me but noticed a notation from the General manager not to service my car.I asked to speak the the GM and during our conversation he told me that he barred me because the price I was asking was unreasonable and I had sent him a letter of complaint about the way I was treated at the dealership (basically the sales tactics used). After looking over the sales invoice which I had re-forwarded to him he said OK you can do service here. Only to cal me back to say he looked further in to the matter and he noticed I "trashed him on the servery and he could not take that chance"In conclusion, I wrote the GM a letter because I did not approve of the sales tactics and I also told the truth on a servery about my visit. I leased my vehicle and service my vehicle at Acura of Ocean. The staff is courtesy and professional and provide great customer servie. When I had my vehicle serviced it was returned quickly and washed. I have and will continue to recommend this dealership to my friends and family. I walked in looking for a lease price on the MDX for the base and another level. The salesman (David Gordon) was quite professional, courteous and pleasant and took his time and LISTENED to me. My bottom line was that despite their awful reviews I was interested in price only. I was quite clear, I would not do the deal today as I needed to consult with my wife, as I was negotiating on her behalf and the car was for her. He accepted this and as I was about to leave with their prices he asked that I wait to meet his sales manager. ALL DOWNHILL FROM there. This guy was the stereotypical used car guy and SUCKED HIS THUMB in front of me!! I could not believe it, he was rude, condescending and arrogant. I felt badly for Mr. Gordon as his 'sales Manager' completely blew any chance he had. His sales managers smarmy, creepy shtick was disgusting, and his high pressure sales tactics were enough to make me vomit. I walked out and told his sales manager that he made me sick. I do not trust these guys, they have no class and their professionalism is NON EXISTANT. My personal experience would make me not just walk from there, but RUN as far and fast as I could.

In 30 years of buying cars and having bought over 100 vehicles, i have never come across more arrogant people than this.Friends and I have tried numerous times to buy Acuras from these creeps and its always something. I went in 2 weeks ago to buy a new ZDX an after 3 hours of negotiating and lowballing me on my BMW, i finally walked out. Years ago my friend and I went in to Ocean Acura to buy two MDX's at the same time, and they tried forcing Running boards and other options in the purchase to drive up the price. We went to Princeton and they were fair and straight and ocean lost 2 deals.Then again a few years later it was the same thing and now in Oct 2010 , the same old story , they try to gouge you beyond what you can believe. They wont even show you what you are paying and reveal all the numbers so they can just totally take advantage of you.I guess they have gotten away with it for years because of the customers they had locally but people have become smarter in car buying and I hope and pray that people stay away from creeps like this.Both Russell(who is the owner) and Steve Cotter MGR are the biggest scammers i have ever come across. After the ordeal at Ocean I still wanted to buy the ZDX and I called around and found Bridgewater Acura which paid me 6000 more for my trade and sold me the ZDX for 3000 less than ocean. A 9000 difference. Can you imagine? I dealt with Gene and Kerry at bridgewater and I am totally impressed with their customer support and care. They provided me the best car buying experience i have ever had and I would never ever even consider walking into ocean ever again.Manalapan NJ

Worst experience I've ever had in a luxury car dealership. Agreed to buy back my vehicle as part of a trade and negotiate a lease for a new vehicle, but dealer didn't have the vehicle in stock...he had to go look for one from another dealer. The dealership wrote up what they called a "deal"....putting me in a lease payment plan without disclosing the invoice, sticker, options and all details of the vehicle, including VIN# that the deal was based upon. They pressured my wife and I into leaving a deposit or we wouldn't get the deal moving forward. For 3 days they failed to communicate about the vehicle status with us, until I called finally got the salesperson, and requested the invoice sticker and the sales price to determine what the lease would be based upon ...guess what...still didn't have it. I called around asking other owners and dealers the appropriate ballpark retail and called them back and told them that the whatever price they were going to consider it needed to be in the ballpark of what the other dealers were getting. They basically told me to go f off, no deal, and accused me of re-negotiation (can't negotiate something when you don't have the damn price to begin with) and failed to disclose the information I requested in writing. They then had the audacity to say they were keeping my deposit as "damages".. for trying to screw me over. He then threatened to sue me, take me to court to keep my money, and attempted to further intimidate me into believing that challenging him was a waste of time since he was in the business of screwing people for 30 years. What a dick head. Buyer beware with these guys and remember....the terms of the "deal" are null and void -- no matter what they say, or what the "order form" says without the appropriate disclosure of vehicle information. Everyone do yourselves a favor, don't do business here, and if you need to or have already been screwed by Acura of Ocean..hit them where it hurts, call Acura corporate client relations line, file a formal complaint about the dealership and get your pound of flesh through corporate pressure, which usually results in "bumping" these fuckers down the priority list for getting coveted cars the next year. I purchased for lease on 5/6/10 a 2010 RDX. I signed the contract and left a $1,690.00 deposit which was, I was told, needed to hold the car. I was told to pick the car up on Tuesday, 5/11 at6:30pm. I called the salesman, George Notte, on Friday 5/7, to confirm that we were all set. Yes, he said, I'll see you Tuesday. I then proceeded to return my currently leased car.I saw my check had been deposited by Acura of Ocean, first thing Friday morning.I get a call on Monday from Ciro telling me that they could not actually do the deal unless I agreed to significant increases in the agreed to monthly rate and length of the lease. I spent Monday back and forth on the phone with Ciro and then Steve Cotter. Their final position was that I was not getting the car and that I now needed to send them a cancelled check to get my $1690.00 back!!! I went as planned last night to get my car and they refused to give it to me. I now have to pursue legal avenues.I have only 1 car at the moment that I need for work and my husband is at home with 2 small children ( 3 and 3 months) with no means of transportation.

Horrible experience. It took them 2 days to figure out they weren't getting some of my paperwork because THEIR copier was jammed when they accused me of not sending it properly! The sales person I worked with took forever to get back to me, overall it was a slow, miserable, process to actually purchase the car. Never again would I do business here.

While taking our Acura MDX (which was purchased at Acura of Ocean) for an elective service visit, we decided to let this dealer install new tires. When we picked up the vehicle, we noticed that upon braking, a terrible shaking occurred. As we were halfway to Albany NY, we continued to our destination and immediately had a qualified mechanic offer an explanation as to what had happened. We were victims of a common error. The dealer had "over-tightened" the lug nuts on our wheels, and bent a part of the braking system called the rotors. I spoke to managers in both sales and service. This dealer acknowledged that the rotors were bent, but refused to replace them. The only thing they offered to do was "re-cut" the rotors at a cost of $200.00. They are short-minded, small, and uninterested in keeping a 10 year customer happy. AVOID USING THIS DEALERSHIP!

I was looking to lease Acura TSX V6 with tech package. Prior to contacting the dealerships I did my homework and figured out value of my trade-in ( KBB value minus payoff amount) and approximate leasing monthly payment. I decided to go with a slightly lower figure (40.00 less) for a monthly payment as my goal and see what happens. I used Edmunds.com site to request quotes from several dealerships. I was contacted by Randee the manager of Acura of Ocean. After a phone conversation and several e-mails I told her of the monthly amount that I was willing to pay. I asked Randee if its doable I will visit the dealership for a test drive well go from there. She said that I should come. I came the next day. Randee introduced me to Warren the salesman. He did a good job on the test drive presented the car well, was knowledgable about cars features. After the test drive Warren asked me what is my next step. I asked him to tell me what the leasing amount would be for my parameters given a value of my trade-in. He pulled out a book, did some intense calculations putting bunch of numbers on a clean peace of paper. After about 5 minutes he gave me a number that was 250.00 more than the number I was looking. I told him that I am only willing to pay 250.00 less than his number. Warren took the book and disappeared. He reappeared 5 minutes later with a big smile he said he made a mistake and looked at the wrong numbers new number that he came up with was 100.00 less than his 1st offer, still 150.00 more than I was willing to pay. Again I told him that I am willing to pay the amount I originally gave him and if they cant make a deal I will leave. Warren said since my offer is so radical(!!!), the standard thing to do is to leave 2,000.00 deposit, fill out the application and hope for a positive decision from the people who will decide. I said that I will not be leaving any deposits. Warren grabbed the book and disappeared again for another 5 minutes. Then he asked me several questions about my trade in informing me that if I was not still paying it off, Acura would be mine already (of course - the value of my trade in would have been 6,000 more!). After 3rd disappearance with the mysterious book Warren came back and informed me that they cant do the deal.To summarize my visit good test drive but silly, dishonest, albeit entertaining negotiations. Just to show that my number was not unreasonable I have an offer that I am still considering from Precision Acura in Princeton for the same car that is 15.00 higher than my number.

I purchased a car from Ocean Acura in 2006 and have had the best experience ever. Maybe the others have bad sales people, and quite honestly people that happens. The service is always good, even if they do have bad news sometimes- it's a car, it breaks down. The pre-certified warranty always covers any issues and they always have a loaner with a great website for service. I am one to always complain and when I saw all of these complaints, I couldn't believe it was the same place.

Avoid this place if you do not want to waste your time. Randee, the so-called manager, contacted us after we sent an inquiry regarding a new car via the internet. We told her on the phone what we wanted and the terms. She said it was definitely do-able and that we should come in right away. We had other things to do that day and told her not to waste our time, but she promised she wouldn't and since we were ready to purchase the new car, we foolishly went. Guess what? She lied and claimed we were making everything up and then started mumbling to herself. When we asked her what she said, she walked away, leaving the salesperson looking mortified and us very annoyed for not only being lied too but for wasting our time. This "lady" should not be dealing with the public as she is very unprofessional. BTW, we got the car we wanted and were treated as a customer should be treated at a different Acura dealership. Do yourself a favor and do the same!

Terrible! I dropped a $20,000 down payment and they let me drive away wihTH NO INSURANCE! When I realized (2 weeks later) I did not have my insurance card, I called and asked the salesman wtf happened and why he didnt call my insurance company from the start and he had no answer. Then as I was transferred to the GM I told him I was insulted that he TOOK MY $20,000 AND LET ME DRIVE OFF WITH OUT INSURANCE, he said I insulted him....UMM are you the one spending money on a brand new car? I visited the dealer with my daughter,nephew, and another relative, the two young people were shopping for their first car purchase. They spokewith different salespeople.At one point, the salesperson speaking to my nephew, got nasty and insisted that: "we have a deal...", "you bought the car..." This was after the saleperson checked my nephew's credit to see if he qualified for a promotional finance rate. My nephew did qualify, but he did not want to buy the car. We left, but with a bad taste for the dealership.My daughter's salesperson seemed nice, and she had seen a car she liked.The following week she called the dealership, and said she wanted to make an offer to buy the car she saw. Her sealesperson was off, so a sales manager handled her call. The manager told my daughter: "Don't bother coming here, or making an offer. We do not want to sell you a car. The reason is your father caused us to lose a deal with the young guy last week, and anyway your father already bought three Acuras, all from a different dealership. We don't want your business."Needless to say, I have told this story to many people, and everyone is shocked by the treatement we received. Since that day, the people in my group have purchased three cars, none of them from Acura of ocean.

I visited the dealership looking for a new car on Memorial Day. I found a certified used car and negotiated its purchase with a trade of my 95' Toyota Camry and 02' Nissan Altima. Two days later when I brought both cars to the dealership to complete the deal, Ariel Gejo, Jr. announced that the deal is off unless I drop an extra $2,000 on the already negotiated price for my Nissan Altima. I felt as though I was being cheated and was shocked to receive such treatment from a luxury dealership. Mr. Gejo acted as the worst example of a used car salesman. After a long and rather unpleasant argument, they decided to purchase the Toyota Camry for an agreed price of $1,000. I signed the title over to the dealership, but Mr. Gejo said he could not issue me a check since the financial department at the dealership was already closed. He verified my address, made a copy of my driver's liscence, and swore that the check would be put in the mail first thing the following day. Two days later, he called me and asked whether I was still willing to sell the Nissan Altima for the reduced price he offered me previously. By this point, I was not even willing to discuss his offer, and asked Mr. Gejo whether he emailed me the check. In response, he asked me to verify my address...which by now seemed more like harrassment to me because I obviously gave him my address many times before. To me, it feels like they are trying to swing me out of $1,000. I filled a complaint about this dealership with the Better Business Bureau and the customer service of Acura USA.

This was the best experience my wife and I ever had purchasing a car. We went to another Acura dealership and the customer service could not compare. Our sales person was very knowledgeable of every benefit and feature of the MDX. The sales person and sales manager made sure we understood every aspect of the lease. Everything was put in writing and there were no misunderstandings. When we went to pick up the vehicle everything that was told to us and in writing stayed the same. It was a real pleasure dealing with a sales staff that knew what they were doing. I have recommended this dealership to all my friends and family.

These people are about the most ridiculous excuse for sales persons on the planet. The first day I arrived, apparently SOOOO many people were buying Acuras that no person was available to sell me one. After calling two days later and WASTING an entire day on the promise from Mr. "Ariele" that it would be worth my time coming there, the salespeople refused to budge on the sticker price. Ariele didn't bother to come out of hiding. After I left, I called him to ask him why he said that and I got nothing from the salesperson, he said "let me speak with the salesperson and call you right back." Amazingly, five days later there's been nothing from this idiot. DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME AT OCEAN ACURA NJ. There are plenty of other dealerships that actually want your business.

I would never recommend Ocean Acura. I went into the dealership November 24th with every intentions of leasing a car ( my lease was up four days later) I worked out a deal with Mr. Cunha $300. no money down no money out of pocket for a 2006 TSX. I brought back my kids to test the car. mr. Cunha had me sign a paper ( not contract) stating if my kids like the car I would lease it for the terms above. I gave them a $2000. check. After giving the ck. they upped the charge to $386. a month. They had no intentions of leasing the car for the terms we agreed upon. They played games. They bait and switch and give you low ball offers. They should be put out of business. They are crooks!!

After twice test driving two Acura used cars, and not buyong, I was approached in the parking lot upon walking to my carby one of their sales managers who berated me for wasting thier time, and accucsing me of enjoying going to dealers, without any attempt at ultimately buyin. As he continued he acted in an increasingly abusive manner. Standing by his side was a saelsman I had previously dealt with. Suffice to say I would never purchase from this dealershiup. Within days I subsaquently purchased an upscale import, competitve with Acura.After seeing your copetitve ratings of Acura of Ocean with other Acura dealers it is clear to see how truthful and accurate your fings are. It's a shame, Acura as a brand, and Honda overall deserve better than this kind of shoddy second rate sales negativism.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALER!!!
My Mom & I went to buy cars together - Mom a new one, me a Certified Pre-Owned.
Mom paid for GPS, but didn't get it. They would only replace the vehicle if she paid an extra $2000. The sales paperwork has boxes to check for power windows (standard on every Acura) but it doesn't list the only actual option GPS. She wound up paying over sticker price.
My Certified Pre-Owned was a bigger disaster. They never preformed my 150 point inspection, which is the whole point of the Cert. Pre-Owned. I brought it back immediately to fix 10 things that were supposed to be check already (and the dealer profits from the service - they get paid under warranty.)
Then my $27,000 3.5RL stopped working when it got wet. After 12 service visits (3 of them towed in) they told me they'd get me into a different vehicle - New or Used. Great right? Wrong. They would only talk about monthly payments because when we did the math, they were giving me trade-in value for the lemon they sold me & couldn't fix. $19,000. They were cheating me out of $8,000. They suggested the replacement, then said "Why would you expect anymore than trade-in value?" They also voided the warranty by replacing the windshield (one of many attempts to stop water leaks)
I now have a $27,000 planter sitting in my driveway. It hasn't run in several months now. Been fighting Acura of Ocean & Acura/Honda Corporation in NJ courts for 2 years now. Wish me luck!

Bought my 1990 Acura Integra new in 1990 from Acura of Ocean without a hassle or problem. The car developed a "click" in the rear suspension on the way home. Ocean fixed the problem the next day under warranty, as it was a known problem. For the next TEN YEARS Acura of Ocean provided parts, service and advice as needed while charging reasonable labor rates. The Service Dept. always explained what and why anything would have to be done and provided options. The Parts Department would provide returned, out-of-date or used facia parts at a discount - when available. Super. I have nothing but GOOD to say about Acura of Ocean. By-the-by, I still own the original 1990 Integra though I now live in another state. Fine car and dealer.

8/9/04 My 2003 TL white w/tan interior, brought in for transmission recall. Left in to leave and noticed greasy scuff marks on plastic door sill. When I started to clean at home is when I saw how the driver area was riddled with boot marks and greasy finger prints all over everything. They put a 3" scratch in the paint in the top of the quarter panel and there was a wrench left on top of the engine. This car was in mint condition until the service dept. got their hands on it. These are not cheap cars.
