I have been a customer of Acura for almost 10 years. In the beginning I had a great experience; however, for the last few times I have contacted the scheduling department and the service department my experience has been less than stellar. I am disappointed and I hope that my experience will get better. As much as I love my vehicle, employees should remember the golden rule. Treat others like you want to be treated. This review does not negate my great experience I had with my previous service manager. I believe his name was Mike. Never again will I do business with this dealer, found out my vehicle had a recall through car fax the dealer never once called to handle the recall and after calling to schedule an appointment was told I would get a call back and never heard from anyone, sold the vehicle (2014 Acura MDX Sh-awd) to another local dealer and will never shop Acura of Memphis again!!

First off... I would go to King Acura in Birmingham instead of AOM. Why I bought a Subaru Outback at Keras Subaru over the Acura RDX.... was not because we liked the Subaru better, it's because the Sales process at Memphis Acura is painful and more like buying a low-end Chevy. I am a 7 time Honda/Acura owner/leasee and don't feel that way at AOM. I am also in the market for an MDX but the Mercedes SUV at Mercedes Collierville looks better even though it's more. This Acura dealer is good for service but the Sales team is non-responsive and act like this is the 1980's when the concept of Internet pricing did not exist.

Purchased a new 2014 Acura MDX fromAcura of Memphis back in March of 2014. After purchasing the vehicle where I was told they had the largest fleet of loaner vehicles in the city and when I brought my vehicle in they would loan me another Mdx. I was very offended after 3 months of ownership one of the roof rails was coming loose and when I brought it in they wanted to put me in an Acura ILX as a loaner vehicle. After explaining to the advisor that I didn't like the fact that I spent 56000 dollars on the highest trim model of the Mdx (advanced sh-awd) that they would even have the nerve of even offering me the smallest cheapest car they sell as a loaner vehicle. None the less they got the manager involved and he put me in a vehicle comparable to the one I was having serviced. I was informed that they would call when it was ready and instead I was the one constantly calling and was always told I would receive a call back and never would. Here we are almost 2 years later and I found out that my vehicle has a recall. Not once did Acura nor the dealership attempt to reach me to notify me. A friend of ours traded her Mdx in for a Lexus and after looking at the carfax told them the vehicle had a recall as she was never informed either. Thinking maybe it was a one time bad experience and truly the fact that they are the only Acura dealership in town I call to schedule when I could bring it to have the recall taken care of. The gentelmen says whenever is best for me and I asked would I be getting a loaner car and he assured me I would and it would be an Mdx and nothing less. After scheduling he then tell me sorry I don't have a loaner availabe for a week. Keep in mind I was assured when I bought it this would never happen as they have more loaners than any luxury dealer in town. I have gotten the run around for two weeks and finally resorted to just having a friend follow me and drop it off. After being told I would receive a call and never did I traded it for a Lexus!!!! Very unprofessional service staff who loves to over promise and never deliver!!

I recently had my brakes changed at the Acura of Memphis dealership and the process was better than any service experience I have previously encountered. The service rep was up front with the pricing as well as informing me of any possible work that might have to been done in addition to my brakes considering the wear and tear. They gave me all of the pricing estimations before hand in the event that additional work had to be done, as well as gave me an accurate time when to expect my car to be repaired. The whole process took about 3-4 hours in which I left my car at the dealership and continued on with my day. Easy, convenient, No uneccessary add-ons or suggestions! Thanks Acura of Memphis I will be returning.

It looks like we definitely encountered the wrong salesman with all of the positive reviews here. My wife and I were there nearly 2 weeks ago to see the new TLX. I was also deciding between the Volvo S60, Infiniti Q50, and Audi A4. We were not taken seriously the entire time. We look young, pulled up in an old Toyota Corolla, and did not appear to be in the typical Acura demographic. Immediately, we were hit with financial talk before car talk and had to pretty much ask to see inside of the car. As you might imagine, we were not offered a test drive. What car dealership doesn't offer a test drive? I guess we looked like we would either wreck or steal the car. Needless to say, I ended up buying a different car, but it's disappointing that some salespeople behave this way. My wife will be looking to buy a car soon and it probably won't be purchased at Acura of Memphis either. I know one person cannot reflect the whole dealership, but our experience tainted our view of this place.

Everyone made this nervous buyer comfortable with their professionalism. The process of buying a car went smoothly and was explained thoroughly. My trade in paperwork and car registration documents were completed quickly! This is the first time I've bought a vehicle from a dealership since 1995 (the others were purchased online) Acura of Memphis restored my faith so I bought one! Malik was very professional . We actually met over a year ago . I have been looking at Acura's TL sedans for some time. Upon getting closer to actually thinking of purchasing one . Malik kept me in mind and let me know of any cars that came through the lot with my options in mind. I have to say he found the one that had everything I wanted and more. Of all the dealerships we visited, Gossett VW, Performance Toyota, Lexus of Memphis and Infiniti of Memphis. Acura of Memphis stood out for multiple reasons. First, and foremost the manor in which Malik treated us surpassed everyone we spoke with at any dealer. His knowledge and honesty regarding his product was far superior to the other dealers and he even helped to get us a better rate than I had with USAA. Many salesmen we spoke with knew little about their products and financing. I've had three Infiniti's but I will be returning to Acura of Memphis for my next vehicle and even plan on brining my old Infiniti to Acura of Memphis for service after meeting the people in service. My rating is a direct reflection of Malik's customer care. From the first time I drove on the premise, Malik went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were 100% satisfied. To this day, he still comes through on his promises and is very accomdating. Malik was a large part of the reason we bought our MDX. If needed, we would come back tomorrow and buy another car from him. We appreciated the fact that Malik was honest,trustworthy and upfront. I was referred to Acura of Memphis by a friend who had recently purchased a car there. Dominick Tompkins was the person that I worked with. He was very motivational, knowledgeable, and informative. I really believe he was passionate about selling cars. Although we were not able to purchase a car that day he ensured us that he would do what ever it took to get us in what we wanted. While searching on the Acura website of how to fill out an application online, Will Edooh assisted me in doing so, and I received a call the next morning indicating that I had been approved to choose an Acura vehicle of my choice. When my parents and I arrived at the Acura dealership, we were then assisted by Jonathan Hicks. Jonathan Hicks was very friendly, nice, and could answer any questions that I had about the cars that I had in mind which was the Acura TL. He explained in detail about the different types of those cars. This led me to choose the Acura TL SH AWD. We then got into the car, and Jonathan showed me all types of features of the Acura TL SH AWD. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He really educated me on a lot of things about this car that I had no idea that a car could even do. Jonathan Hicks was very patient, and I think he did a wonderful job in saling me this car. The price was definitely in my range. I am really enjoying my Acura TL SH AWD and is very, very happy that I chose this particular car and this particular Acura dealership. Jonathan Hicks is still accessible if I have any questions or concerns about my car. I really do appreciate him for that. I will refer him and Acura of Memphis to anyone. Acura of Memphis ROCKS!!!! I got an awesome deal on a used Acura!! I shopped long and hard for just the right car. I went to over 20 dealerships on my 2 month search. Acura of Memphis went above and beyond to make sure I was well taken care of. They were the nicest and most helpful dealership Ive ever worked with. Chris Curllle was my main salesman. Whenever the dealership had a trade in that fit what I was looking for Chris would call and tell me all about it. Great guy to work with. But the service department really BLEW ME AWAY with their kindness, patience, and superb professionalism. I had a transmission problem the day I bought the car. I came right back to the dealership and found Greg Moore the service director. We took the car out and he told me it needed a new transmission. He arranged for a new transmission to be put in at no cost to me. He was super nice and very professional. Brandon Willouby the service adviser oversaw the replacement of the transmission. Very sweet, very professional man. AWESOME GUYS TO WORK WITH!! He made sure it was done with no labor cost to me. WOW!!! Even though I had only purchased a 2000 Acura TL, the concierge set me up with a 2012 TL for my loaner car while my car was being fixed. This thing was sweet!! Mr. Ed Lewis, Used Car Sales Manager was a nightmare. He has a big problem with providing quality customer service. I made a big mistake purchasing my dream vehicle from this dealership. I was quoted one price but when I got to the Finance Manager, it was something totally different. I was told I could bring my the car back for small repairs and that the dealership agreed to do them. This was all prior to me signing the paperwork to finalize the deal. After,, I signed I was treated like an idiot. The "NO Warranty AS IS STICKERS were left on the car, the car was dirty, the bumper was bent, the driver seat was damaged. These were repairs that Mr. Lewis agreed to repair, but I had to bring the car back. When I brought my car in for the repairs, the Service Department had no record of my supposedly scheduled appointment. I purchased the car Sat. July 30, 2011, I informed the sales associate that I would bring the car back on Friday, August 5. When I arrived there was no record of my appointment and I was told that Mr. Lewis would call me. After waiting patiently for a call while at work during the day, he did not call. I called him and he told me that the sales associate forgot to inform the Service Dept. of my appointment. I explained to him how they had inconvenient me during my work day. He told me they could get to my car, probably on Monday. I asked him if I could get a loaner's car for the weekend so that I did not have to get someone to drop me off again and pick me up from work. I was told by Mr. Lewis that he could not have a used car that he had just sold setting on his car lot over the weekend. HE was overall just RUDE. I told him I would write to his manager because his behavior was just unacceptable. He asked me to tell his manager what a wonderful job he was doing. I told him I do not lie for anyone. When I picked my car up after it sat at the dealership all day, I spoke with another manager in the Used Car Repair Department, I believe his name was Ahman He offered me a loaner car. I left my car at the dealership on Monday and I was called on Tuesday, to inform me that the car was ready for pickup. I was told that car was clean and that the repairs had been completed. When I arrived the car was still dirty and no repairs. I was asked to give them another day. When I picked the car up the following day, MILES were put on the car, most of gas were out, and still no repairs.At this point, I refuse to go back to the dealership because Management do not own up to what they say they would do. I decided to have the car detailed clean, and to get someone else to do the small repairs. I have 7 years to pay for this car and I'm afraid that when I really need this dealership to do anything else that I would need to seek an attorney. I would prefer walking instead of purchasing another car from this dealership. BAD EXPERIENCE!

I wasn't sure how they would deal with me. The sales process was very professional and the salesman was knowledgeable and polite. My mother purchased a 2005 Honda Accord from Acura of Memphis as a gift for me back on August 15,2009. My mother lives out of town, however, the dealer and one of the other salesmen who worked there promised my mother that with out a doubt that the car can be registered in my name here in Memphis although my name was NOT on the bill of sale. Needless to say, here it is 3 month's later and I am still riding around with a drive out tag. After several attempts, the used car finance manager called back only to tell me if I need a new drive out, I am welcome to come by the store and get one. So far I've had a total of three drive outs and working on a fourth. Finally, they figured out that the car will have to be registered in my mothers state for at least the first year. This was due to the address she put on the contract for the sale. Another situation I have with them is that they lied to my mother about the price of the car. They promised an additional extended warranty on the car for FREE. The dealer told her that they would lower the price of the car to add the warranty in at no charge. When my mother sent me the copy of the bill of sale, the original price of the car was there, and an additional $2100 for the extended warranty. When I confronted them about it, it was as if I was not even supposed to have looked at the paper. It is such a shame that they would make a sale off of a lie to an older lady. I spoke with the person over Acura of Memphis twice and he promised to call me back with an answer 2 months ago. Car was purchased in August and here it is November, hmmmm. I have yet to receive a phone call. The title clerk has been more help to me than any of them. Hopefully my tag should be here within the next week or two. If not, it wouldn't surprise me. It has been a very stressful time working with these people. I would not recommend them to anyone simply because of the red tape they put me and my mother through. As long as they are getting what they need from you, you an reach them. If something's wrong, good luck they're no where to be found.

Originally dealt with this dealership when attempting to purchase a 2006 Acura TSX (auto/Non-Navi) on July 28th of 2006. Made an appointment to sit down and cement the final deal in regards to pricing. When I refused to fill out a loan application based on the fact I had already secured my own financing (at a better rate than they were offering) they refused to budge from MSRP, plus dealer prep,Doc fee,taxes and Reg. After running the numbers on my counter offer Chandler returned to inform me of some unfortunate news. He took me outside and pointed out a dent the size of a softball in the roofline directly over the drivers side rear door. Interestingly enough this is over the sticker as well and exactly where I had placed my hand earlier when inspecting the sticker before the final test drive. This dent was not present at the time of the test drive. At this point I noticed that the car had been moved from it's original parking space to the one directly adjacent to it. I returned to the office where the paperwork we had been negoitiating on (which listed the VIN #) had changed, ostensibly for us to get a fresh start. Their new offer was $1000 off MSRP, $500 Dealer prep,$500 Doc fee, tax and reg, no repair of the vehicle, and I could buy an extended warranty elsewhere, they would not sell it to me. At that point I said no deal and began to pack up, at which point the sales manager apolgized for all the money I would have to spend buying a different car. The next day a representative from the dealership called to try and get me back in and seal the deal. He asked what was the sticking point I informed him of what I felt was the dishonesty of the sales staff, the condecending attitude when I was preparing to leave, and lastly the price. He asked me what my offer was (and for the sake of brevity here my walk away point was $500 below invoice with an extended warranty) and when informed he told me that was a loser deal and his dealership didn't open their doors everyday for loser deals. I thanked him for the education and hung up. One week later and three phone calls lasting 5 minutes apiece I purchased a new 2006 Acura TSX (Auto/Non-Navi) from the Jerry Damson Dealership in Huntsville AL, after registration and taxes getting paid in TN, the final deal came to $2000 less than the Acura of Memphis dealership. I will not take this vehicle to this dealership for any service, and would not recommend anybody else dealing with these people.

The sales mananger was very condescending and talked to me as if I was a child. He spent 2 hours explaining to me why the dealership needed to charge me a 'premium' (yes he used that word) for a particular TL I wanted. He also explained how he has never heard of anyone buying a TL below invoice price. I guess most people in Memphis will come in and pay sticker. To make a long story short, I did indeed buy my Acura TL with everything I wanted at invoice price at St. Louis Acura. It took 2 phone calls lasting 3 minutes a piece. I drove up the next weekend and was driving my car an hour later.
