The Good and The Bad
The good! I went there on Holoween night interested in a couple vehicles. I was helped right away and was treated very nicely. It did take a little time for them to go and get the car for me to test drive and the price was way below msr .The bad! I ended up trading in my perfectly working car and purchasing the car I test drove but waited 10 hours there to drive it home because of a repair they had to make to it. Afterwards I drove it about 1 week and notice a few things wrong with the car so I made an appointment to bring it in for repairs on 11/8/16 and currently still do not have my car on 11/14/16. I have not been able to enjoy the car I purchased and I've been inconvenienced to not have a car to get to and from work or my daily activities with my kids. I wish it could of turned out to be a better experience but unfortunately I'm disappointed.
New local loyal
I was looking for new/newer used cars priced moderately and felt like everywhere I looked online was out of my price range. Finally fell upon this place on Internet and could not get over their huge inventory of cars, some newer, that I actually liked! Did the usual dealership review and wow, negative feedbacks enough to make you want to avoid this place. But then I ran into a coworker who told me he bought 3 cars here without a problem. I went to look at car I picked off internet on Sunday and drove it home last night (4 days), couldn't be happier!!!
STAY A WAY
DON/T GET BACK TO YOU 8 TIME DON/T GET BACK TO YOU +PRICE IS $595 OVER LIST STAY A WAY
Nice people and friendly service.
Purchased a car from them and it was delivered very dirty. Body shop had the car for a week doing repairs so I guess time was short. Had to bring it back for a couple of minor issues and they promptly took care of the issues. Great prices, auction cars with no history but the dealer is pretty straight forward and appears honest. I would buy again from them.
Again; unprofessional, unreliable and their sales skills way below 0. I don't recommend this car dealer to anyone!
Drove from NJ, given that it's over a 2 hour drive, I called before to make sure the vehicles I was interested in were available and was reassured that they are. We have 4 cars we were interested in and NONE were available for us to see when we got there for one reason or another. What happened in the 3 hours from the time I called that made the cars not available??? Just plain terrible, shows zero respective for the customer and their time. The office is just plain disorganized. Don't waste your time considering this dealership!
Never responded to my inquiries.
Used cars.com inquiry, emailed, and called, nothing.
I TRIED FOR SEVERAL TIMES, COMMUNICATION BY EMAIL, UNFORTUNATELY NO ANSWERS.... I CALLED TO GO SEE THE CAR, WHEN I GOT THERE IN THE NEXT DAY, I WAITED FOR MORE THAN 1 HOUR AND A HALF UNTIL THE SALESMAN RETURNED AND TOLD ME THAT CAR WAS IN MAINTENANCE AND I COULD NOT SEE THE CAR. I DROVE AROUND 2 HOURS UP THERE FOR NOTHING. TOTALLY FRUSTRATING. TOTAL DISORGANIZATION.
They won't let you test drive the cars, and the cars are very Questionable. Advice to you, don't drive off the lot with out checking the car out yourself.
Used truck buying experience
Was treated good and sales woman was very pleasant she answered my questions and the prices were rite there if not lower than are dealers, looking forward to buying my next vehicle there.
Worst Dealer Ever
Thursday: I had called ahead of time and was told that I could come down and check out the car. After driving 3 hours, I got there and was told that I could not test drive the car because of faulty ABS system and could not test drive it unless a deposit of $1000 was put down. I put down the deposit on my card and told the dealer I would be back on Saturday.Saturday: On my way down there, I had car problems/stuck in traffic, therefore I could not make it. I called the salesman and explained my dilemma and that I rather not come back a third time and if i could please have my deposit back, but was faced with a phone that was hung up on me as he could not talk to me at this moment. Friday: After talking with the sales guy again who said, "I've put all this effort into this. Now, I don't know how the deposit return is gotta work out. I mean at least come down and drive the car." I went down and looked at the car. The car was not in the condition I was expecting it to be in. I was told new tires would be on the car but there were none. I decided I did not want the car and I was told I would have my deposit back in a week.Monday: Its been well over a week and still no money back.
Better way wholesale
Place was dingy. Salesperson was hungover Lots are far awayOwnership was honest Cars are a good value
Never responded to my email
Dealer Did not respond to my email inquiry. Bought a car from a dealer that responded.
Contacted twice and no reply
Was looking at a used camaro to buy and asked if it was still available, no reply.
We went to look at a car and sat outside waiting for about 45 minutes for the guy to get it from their lot. Upon arrival, we looked at the inside and outside of the car as we were originally interested as the price listed was a great deal. The sales person that got the car had little interest in my comments about how dirty the car was on the inside (spilled liquid something all over the center consol) we put the car in drive and this angry sales person came over and banged on the window stating, "this car is sold, I sold this car." Needless to say we got out of the vehicle and left. Disgrace of a car sales place.
Never responded to my email enquiry
I found a car thru cars.com at this dealer and filled out the email app to contact me that was attached to the car. That was 2 weeks ago, I never received a response from them. I guess all the other poor reviews about them were true
Very unsatisfied with the overall customer experience. I did not end up buying a car and would not in the future.
Lots of vehicles to choose from at great prices!! The sales personnel were very friendly. I will go back there to get my next vehicle. I have and will continue to recommend this place to everyone!!
I absolutely love them
This wasbmy greatest buying experience ever I purchased a beautiful jeep wrangler no complaints and no problems.
Probably one of the worst car buying experiences I've ever had. Went to buy a used car, there were scratches all over the car, and the car appeared to be extremely dirty and unkept. Don't know how these guys manage to stay in business, but all I know is that I'll never step foot back at this dealership as long is I live
Poor customer service, rude and careless
they didn't care that I had cash in hand ready to buy, the lady that answered the phone didn't bother to ask any questions, gave me a price "take it or leave it" policy. If you don't care about the customer before the sale, how are you suppose to do after you have the money? will never deal with them again.
Poor customer service
I contacted this dealer twice (via email) followed up with a phone call about a 2014 grand Cherokee. I never received an email back from the dealership as well as when I called and left a voicemail I never recieved a call back.
Price was reasonable but the car was delivered dirty inside and outside. The car smelled and the windows and dashboard were absolutely filthy.
You lost me at "YUT"
I've been searching for a small SUV and saw a couple on their website. I called to inquire and the VAR system prompted " #1 for sales". A woman answered the phone "betterway". I asked , "is this sales"? Her highly intellectual and professional response was "Yut" ! Really??? Is that the best you have?Needles to say I would never do business there.
Mi Experiencia !
The service was Espectacular serve me immediately when I arrived I Attended A sales agent and explained everything right in my language. I Abia Wanted Truck From Application Cars.com And since I gave the Button If you have Auto Available Next Day I were calling to confirm yes and I'm happy with my experience now I am enjoying my first car, I Hope this will be De Ayuda.
Best prices in the area
This dealership is a high volume dealer. They are very busy and I will admit that attention to detail was lacking. The advantage is the best prices in the area. I recommend that people going here do their research beforehand on the cars accident / owner history with a car fax report and have the car checked out by a mechanic before buying. Some of the cars here are really not in good shape to be sold. However, other cars here are in excellent shape, sometimes like new condition. Bottom line is some of the best deals can be had here but don't trust them to go through the car for you, it's your job to make sure the car you are buying is in good condition. That's how to get a good deal from this dealer.
Sent to information requests on a 2004 Frontier (several) on different car shopping web sites, did not hear back from any to let me know if the vehicle was even in stock, let alone to find out more info on truck, had money to spend, needed to replace vehicle, had to go elsewhere
Worst Experience in my Life
I filled out the online application and had about 10 cars picked out I was already to go and see and then buy one. Well after about 4 days I heard no reply on the application so I called Miriam who handles the online applications. I called for almost another 2 days to see how much I was approved for. I spoke with Miriam finally. She said she would run my credit and get right back to me. A day later still no reply. I called up looking for her once again and the dealership staff who picks up the phone were so so rude each and every time I called. They even gave me her cell and no answer and no voice-mail. I must have called at least 6 times and they tried to track Miriam down at the dealership. No success. So I finally said to the gentleman who answered the phone that I have been given the runaround for almost a week now. If Miriam can't even take the time to follow up with me and everyones extremely poor customer service skills. Why would I even want to buy anything from there dealership. He told me to come in and look at a vehicle and then they will let me know. Miriam who runs the credit told me the complete opposite. She told me once the credit is run, she will let me know what I am qualified for and I then would start looking for a car. I explained this to the gentleman on the phone and he said he could care less if I buy there. I said to him I can see now why every one of the online reviews that were given were on average of 1 star. What a shame. He said he was the largest dealership in CT and they sell over 400 cars a week and they do need my business. Who says such things. How super insulting.I am a professional business man and I am in sales and I am never had such a horrible experience in all life. Please read other reviews they say the same thing. I will have to buy elsewhere and Please Stay Clear of doing any business here. Unless you want to go through the same thing.
Horrible cars. Problems from day one. You do not get to test drive the cars. No carfax when asked for it.
I drove an hour from my home to the dealership after calling and inquiring about a particular car I had seen on their website and every car selling web site. I had called to verify the car was still for sale and made the trip. I walk in to the store front an hour before they close with my 1 year old son in my arms. My initial impression was chaos and disorganization. Not a single sales person approached me for over 15 minutes. I walked around the entire office several times. I approached the service desk twice. No one asked me anything. I saw people I thought worked there chatting about food and time off. Finally, I approached an employee and asked what I needed to do in order to purchase a car. The salesperson explained to me that I had arrived "too late" and the shuttle to their off site lot was no longer running. I quickly dismissed the thought about taking my 1 year old in my arms in their shuttle because I was not going to take their shuttle. Remember, I had arrived too late. To not make my trip a total waste I asked about the particular vehicle I was there to inspect. After a quick talk to the sales manager, the salesperson returned and informed me that the car had been sold the week prior....Had I not been carrying my 1 year old son in my arms I may have lost all adulting abilities and began a rant on the process to get to the point on their sales floor that I was. Instead, I gave a curt thanks to the salesperson and walked back to my car and drove the hour home. They only seemed to want to sell to people who were uneducated about cars or the sales process. Only go there if you want your time to be wasted and your sense of self-worth to be punished.
Wow, a bit different in auto dealers!
The place is about moving a lot of cars like McDonalds sells a lot of burgers they sell a lot of cars. Must say I was shocked walking in the office, how many desks packed with people and customers selling or buying. Drove up from East Lyme to try out a used MB. Car was not at all cleaned up but they stated thy would clean after deal was made. They were up front stating they would not fix paddle shifter, but still had to do safety check and repair brakes. Also dash info stated almost 300 days past service date. Carfax stated service by MB dealer in the last 20 miles?? As for attention of sales people, fine, straight to the point, no butt kissing. Very obvious all sales people on straight commission and knew it was there job to sell cars quickly. No problem, that's there was of selling cars. Miriam, very nice and e mailed me carfax report on request. Learned one must be careful of these reports they don't say all! Miriam knew little about car but with 600 or so cars on lot how could she. If car was as report inferred I would have bought but car had been ridden hard, put away wet. Wish it would have worked. Thanks for your time and effort Miriam!
Run away. Fast and far from ABA
The only reason the have one star is because you have to put something. Bought a Cadillac from them and it died on the way home. That car was in and out of the shop over 5 times in the first 6 weeks. They finally took it back and I got and Expedition that was flat bedded back to them on the first day. They did deliver it to me when it was "fixed". Drove 3 miles down the road and check engine light came on. The only thing that save me from them is I totaled it and insurance payed off the loan. It seemed like the cars were in the shop more than I had them.
This is by far the most unpleasant place to by a car from....over the phone within 10 seconds they would hang up just asking you to only drive there....no info until you arrive...was looking to purchase an SUV I saw that the paint was unusually new for its age....they would not provide me a history report saying the previous owner a 1 ONLY owner took great care of this SUV therefore the paint looks so new despite the age....I sensed something wasn't right so wrote down the VIN# on my own and went home and ran a Carfax....guess what: that SUV had 6 previous owners (not 1 as mentioned by sales person) and been already in 3 accidents with a Salvage title !!! STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE!
I went there on Saturday it was okay just got the car I went for was going already and updated update their website but besides that I have no problems
worst dealer ever
Worst place in the entire world trust me!!!!! Fake customer service
I spoke with a salesman on the phone and explained my situation credit wise, the salesman informed me they wouldnt have a problem financing me. I told him i didnt want to go all the way there being as i live 3 hours away if i wouldnt be approved, gave all my info so they could do a credit check over the phone, they said they could get me approved and to come look at the car. I still wasnt approved after a 3 hour drive and $1500 deposit ! Now im trying to get my deposit back being as i have to purchase a car elsewhere, they originally told me the owner had to sign off on it, it would be tomorrow. Now i called and they are telling me the owner is conveniently out of town and now it wont be until monday. The communication has been horrific from the get go. NEVER EVER DO BUSINESS HERE !
They Never got back to me
I sent an email to look at a truck and they never got back. waste of time.
They tried to sell me a car and said that I did not need to run a carfax report on because all of their cars are certified...but I went home and ran a report anyways and found out the car had a "salvage" title assigned to the VIN. When I asked them to verify they acted surprised saying it was not possible....thank god I cancelled the sale
Head for the hills
I drove over 40 minutes to check out an Acura TSX that I was told was still available and I could look at once I get there after a few questions. Oh brother, I have never seen such an unorganized operation, desks crammed in everywhere, people running back and forth. looked like a shade offtrack betting parlor. I was asked for a copy of my registration before I even got to look at the Acura. I sized this place up in about 10 minutes. Sorry i wasted my time and gas to drive here and never even got to see the car. I was brushed off rather quickly. Perhaps if I did see the Acura, I could have made a decision, that is if they would have let me test drive it. Anyway, good riddance.
STAY AWAY FROM THERE
This was THE WORST experience I've had buying a vehicle. Terrible customer service, rude from top to bottom. Made you feel like you were a pain in the butt every time you talked to them. Communication was always a struggle. No returned phone calls or emails from the salesperson!!! Very unorganized sales!!! cars are crap!
I was interested in purchasing the White 2010 bmw x5m but im skeptical with all these bad reviews.. Its literally one bad review after the next.
Quick and courteous vehicle transaction.
Had been looking for a Honda Element for a couple of months, since they are hard to find I wasn't having any luck. Needed the car as secondary vehicle for outdoor activities (Camping, kayaking etc) Found two Elements at "A Better Way". I'll be honest, I was hesitant due to the reviews, I read. Called them and they assured me that the vehicle was in their inventory, so I drove down the next day (Tuesday) and spoke with Junior. Junior double checked that the vehicle was in their lot and immediately was ferried to bring the car back for my test drive. Test drove the vehicle and pointed a couple of minor issues that I was concerned about. Junior assured me that the mechanics would fix said issues. Put down $1000.00 deposit and was told that the vehicle would be ready for a Thursday delivery. On Thursday Junior called and apologized that the parts had not arrived so if a Saturday delivery would be alright. I told him Ok. Saturday came and the vehicle was ready for pick up. Since I was paying cash, I waited for maybe four hours while they did the final inspection on the vehicle. I was out of there with my Honda Element for a great price. My opinion it was a quick and painless transaction. Junior was an excellent sales person and always kept me informed of the entire process. The dealership has the lowest prices in CT, so obviously its always packed with people trying to get a great deal, So patience is required if you want to get that great deal on a used vehicle. See JUNIOR, he's a great representattive of "A Better Way"
horrible customer service
How is this place even in business or even allowed to post on cars.com? By far the worst dealership I've ever been to. Stay far away. Told me I smell
manager has no respect for customers
Each of our vehicles undergoes a rigorous pre-delivery safety inspection to ensure it will be worry free from the moment you pick it up. THIS IS WHAT A BETTER WAY AUTO claims on its web site. Key point safety inspection. I bought a car for my son when we got it home we found out that the drivers side door wouldn't unlock the only way to unlock it was manually you had to crawl in form the passenger side and push the button. No big deal I called them they say bring the car in Monday. Meanwhile I take the car to my mechanic he tells me the car needs front wheel bearings rear brakes . Monday they change the front wheel bearings no problem. But they had to order the parts for the door lock. You order the parts on the 9th and said they would be in on the 16th meanwhile your mechanic made the door unable to lock at all. Now I can't leave the vehicle anywhere unattended. The 16th comes no parts 18th no parts when I call and ask for service dept I'm put on hold for about 5 minutes then the line disconnects. Now I have to go down to see if my parts have come in. On the 18th you tell me 25th the parts will be in they come in the 24th now that the parts are in you inform me I can bring the car in on the 6th of October another week so 3 weeks total . Now I meet with the GM Mike Bowe he start off by belittling me and talking down to me and saying that I was a nuisance and needed to be gone and how dare I criticize their service and then he had the audacity to talk about our future relationship. Let me say something to Mike Bowe the customer has the right to complain if they feel they are receiving inadequate service. Your bullying and intimidating tactics and how you insult and talk to customers shows how unprofessional you are and that you only care about selling cars and nothing about the customer after they buy the car. So let's rate A BETTER WAY AUTO You get a A for your photo's on you website You get a D for the appearance scratches dents cosmetic that didn't show up in the photo's You get a D for delivery of the vehicle not being worry free You get a D for taking 3 weeks to resolve a problem that was there before car was purchased You get a F for how you belittled and insulted the customer. I know someone from a better way is going to answer with a rebuttal and say they don't understand what I'm complaining about or that my problem has been resolved . And to that I say everything that was wrong with the vehicle should have been fixed before you sold the vehicle. And that goes back to you will do anything to sell a car and don't care about the customer after they buy it. I guess I can assume I won't be getting that second key that you promised me.
Never answered my emails
Emailed with questions about a car and never even got a response to my questions...nor did they even ask if I wanted to see it. Bought elsewhere!
Worst Expirience ive ever had at a Car Dealership.
Never in my life have I felt like the car salesman was doing you a favor for letting you see the car your interested in buying but at this place. Extremely rude and inconsiderate.. not to mention its like the nasdaq stock brokers office.. people screaming and phones going off non stop. By far the WORST customer service I have ever been too in a dealership. After an hour of information and him needing it all credit down deposit etc just to show us the car, he lets us know that the car was sold earlier that day.. BEWARE of this please forreal dont even bother.
Poor Customer Service!
Very disappointed, I drove 35 minutes to look at two cars, was told by Fred that one car was sold and the other vehicle was in storage down the street. Fred said if I was not going to buy today there was no need to look at the other vehicle because someone would buy it, lol.35 minute drive and I was ushered out in a matter of 10 minutes!
Poor customer service. Would not recommend.
I called A Better Way Wholesale about a vehicle listed on Cars.com. I asked a few questions about what equipment was included with the vehicle since this information was not specified in the listing. The sales associate simply stated that that information was only available from the finance department. I asked the associate if he could check on that information, but he simply reiterated his claim that the sales department did not have that information. I asked him again to check with whomever at the dealership would have that information, and he hung up on me in mid-sentence. I called back and spoke with a sales manager, and he brushed the issue off stating that they are a high volume dealer and that they do not know the details about each vehicle due to the nature of their business. He indicated that I would be better off shopping elsewhere if I was concerned with the specific details related to a vehicle. Given my experience with this dealership, I would agree that this is not the place for me. As a customer, I expect a seller to be able to answer a few simple and basic questions about a vehicle. That information is apparently too difficult for A Better Way Wholesale to provide, and that is simply unacceptable.
I drove 50mins to look at a used charger they had for sale. The price was nice, however when I got there I sat down and talked to a salesman and he had seemed to rush for the sale. At one point he had told me "This isn't a place for test driving" and "You must put a deposit today". I am not the person who wants to rush into buying a car. If you are than maybe this place is much better for you, they are the dealer that want you to show up and drive off with the car in an hour. I left very unhappy with the service
I purchased a 2012 Jeep Liberty from this place. Although the process took a little long the service was great. The jeep had more miles than expected but I have not had an issue with it yet! Overall I was pleased and my sales guy Miguel, was very respectful and helpful.
Good Price, fast service (went on weekday)
Went on a weekday morning and got fast service. This place had the best prices I could find in Connecticut. Very satisfied with used car purchase. I did hear this place can get very crowded on weekends.
Horrible after sale
Worst experience ever. I bought a 2012 car and it broke after a month. I give back the car to maintanance and it's been 4 days and they didn't touch the car yet. The guys at finance are all impolite and have a bad temper. If there is a no star option i would have chosen it.
good car, good price, need patientce
Huge selection, good prices. But,you need patience and lots of it. Your best bet is to come in on a weekday when they first open. They don't do any cosmetic fixes, so all the dents and dings are out of your pocket. You have to buy your own CarFax and the deposit is nonrefundable. Miguel is a good guy just wasn't a fan of the way they do business, but the prices reflect it, because they are discounted. If you go, see Miguel, he seems like a reasonable person and will give you straight talk.
I'm very happy with my new car.....
I buy car light 5 year ago I have a very good experience so I go for second time to buy another car and I happy we my new car, the only thing everybody have to go wait time...
I was lured into this joint by it's very attractive prices ... well, fairly attractive ... in a sort of Rebecca De Mornay/Sharon Stone/Glenn Close kind of way. They tell you to make an appointment on Sundays, which I did, and proceeded to wait for 45 minutes. The sales person was eventually called by phone to by the manager who told him that his appointment has been waiting, and that he should come promptly (twice). This is what the sales person did: arrived 20 minutes later, walked to his desk, and left. After a third call he told his manager that I wasn't there, which confused heck out of me because I couldn't figure out how the heck I knew that he'd swung by earlier and walked to his desk and left. He eventually came by again and after tea and biscuits he left again to go get the car I'd come for (err...go and get...?) He came back with the wrong car (which had been in an accident in spite of it being advertised with a clean history) so I sent him back to get the right one. For chuckles, I snuck off and went home as he left. What fun we had together. Pros: Free soda and chips Cons: The buying and selling process. Avoid this part if possible.
please dont WASTE your time
i went there to look for a car and got the run around for an 90 mins. the whole process of doing business with them isnt secure. the employees are rude and could care less
A mad house
After multiple emails without a response I decided to make the 40 minute drive to try and find a few of the vehicles I found online that interested me. When I got there the place was in complete chaos. I've never seen so many people crammed into one small room... After standing there for a few minutes I finally got the attention of a very rude young lady that had no interest whatsoever in selling a car. After a very brief conversation I left and never looked back. The prices seem attractive online but I'd much rather pay more money and get treated like a valued customer than ever return to this zoo.
The place is a Freakin joke, and very rude, customer service sucks
Don't go here
i called about a car they had on the site and they told me not to come down on the weeked because it was going to be to busy. I asked when I could come see the car and they said that following Monday I could look at it and decide what I wanted to do. I called and asked on that Monday if I could still come see the car and they said yes. I made the 2 hour trip there and when I got there I was asked what I wanted. I told them I talked to them earlier and wanted to look at a car. I told them the car I was wanting to see and they said they had sold it 10 min earlier even they knew I was coming to look. I would not recommend this place and will never be going back!
Not a fan
went in to buy a Jeep Wrangler. They stated the car was inspected and road ready. Needed to fix the emergency break before we brought it home. Emergency break still very loose, and found that there was NO air filter in the jeep. Yet they said it was inspected. Did not bring it back to their service dept. don't trust them. There was no privacy in their sales office. It was a big open space with a lot of desks. Some point you would be filling out your private financial info right next to the other person buying a car. .
Not your typical dealership
I think one of the most useful reviews I read before going to this place mentioned that it isn't a typical dealership, so you have to go in with different expectations. These guys are high volume dealers, they sell about 100 cars per week! I've never seen so many people at a dealership! I was helped by a gentleman named Miguel who was great. Later in the process I felt a bit haggled & pressured to buy their extended warranty coverage, otherwise the experience was good. I've only had the car a few days so I'd like to come back later to update on the quality of the automobile I purchased from them.
RUN!!!!! Do Not walk from this so call "Dealership"
Wholesale dealer - not your typical dealership
Know what kind of dealership/ buying experience before you go and you'll likely end up satisfied! This is not your typical car dealership. As they say, it's wholesale- e.g. cars bought at auctions, no carfax provided so do your homework beforehand, They deal with high volume and thus work to have the best/ lowest no haggle prices. They do not have a lot to stroll around and see all inventory. They bring the car - one at a time you want to see and drive. It's best to know what you want before you go there & check their inventory online, Then call ahead, make sure the car is still available & be prepared: know payment methods and what is needed in terms of insurance docs. Because they sell such volume, cars truly sell quickly. It's not a sale pitch. We put a deposit down, were filling out all the paperwork, and the car we were buying was almost sold to someone else! Luckily our sales guy (Eli) was great and on top of everything so we still left with the car we came to see! Also the entire buying process took hours - 4 hours in our experience.
New "Used" Car Buy
I traveled over 100 miles to go to A Better Way Wholesale Autos because of the selection and prices they had on their website. Miguel Luevano helped me and my children find not only a great car, but got us out of the lot same day driving it. The car is almost brand new and fits our family perfectly. I feel safe and my daughter is excited as this will be her car in a few months when she gets her license. I will definitely make the trip again when I need another car.
Poor Customer Service
I saw a car they had advertised that I was interested in, so I called them to ask when I could come see the vehicle. He asked if I was paying cash or wanted to finance. I said I first want to see the vehicle before I discuss money. He told me that they sell over 150 cars per day and if I need to look at the vehicle first then this probably isn't the dealership for me. At first I was offended, then I realized he was probably right. I really need a dealership with employees who speak kindly to customers.
Don't waste your time
This operation is a joke. They don't keep the cars on the sales lot. They are kept at a separate location. You must request the vehicle you want to see and have to wait for someone to locate it and bring it to the sales office. You aren't allowed browse the lot at the separate location so if you want to see more than one vehicle plan on spending a lot of time there. The vehicles advertised are priced low because they are not quality vehicles. The vehicle I requested was advertised as "showroom condition" but is it was anything but that. In fact when the vehicle I requested was brought over it had many cosmetic blemishes, the check engine light was on and it was driven over in "limp" mode where the vehicle could not go over 25 MPH. Don't waste your time.
I came from Brooklyn, NY to see a car and they tell me that they can't sell it to me due to the fact that the paperwork isn't ready for it. So My question is this, WHY ADVERTISE A CAR IF YOU CANT SELL IT !?!?!?!?
got the car I wanted at the payment I wanted
Steve helped us was very nice and kept in contact during the wait for the the Lien release to come through. Although there were a few bumps in the road I ended up leaving with the car I wanted at the payment I wanted and with a full gold warranty.
Bad customer service
Purchased a car through them and next day car was leaking radiator fluid. I purchased the car "as is" but thought since it was a day later they would take responsibility for the vehicle, but they did not. They are polite while your purchasing a vehicle but once you call with complaints they are very rude and not professional. I would never buy another vehicle from them again!!
Two months ago I purchased car Mazda from that dealership for much less than anywhere else. The stuff there was courteous, professional and able to deliver the car I selected the same day. While driving home I heard a noise that concerned me. I called them a few days later. The stuff took their time to diagnosis the problem and corrected it. They really do stand behind their cars.
suv wasnt ready
I was in the market to buy a quality low mileage Audi q7. A better way had an advertised one at a price I could afford. I drove done to the dealership eager to test drive the q7. But when I arrived the suv wasn't ready, it had mechanical problems. The q7 looked like it was just brought there from the auto auction. I was told that when the q7 was ready they would call me to reschedule the test drive. I never received that call, I bought a Audi q7 one week later. I understand the nature of the business, 85% of used cars sold are auction cars. A simple courtesy call would have secured my business.
Had a great time buying a car very good costumer service great prices and MIGUEL did a great job thanks for taking care of me
Personal attention to clients
I used the USAA car buying website to find a used car. A Better Way is a certified dealer listed as meeting USAA standards. With a specific appointment, I was greeted by Alex, one of a two person team. If Alex was not available the Miriam was and they both were up to date as to what I was looking for and where in the buying process I was at any given time. Having an appointment was a plus for my busy life. The car I looked at online was just as I expected and I bought that very day and picked it up two days later with new tires and half a tank of gas. The follow up there after let me know that my satisfaction was important. Check them out - I am sure you'll find what your looking for.
Dont bother with these guys.
I was really interested in a car they were selling. So much so that i was willing to fly iut from wisconsi. To look at it and test drive it. I contacted a woman (cant recall her name) with an email. She responded by calling me and left a message. I called her back, she did not answer. I left a message explaining that i needed to fly out to see the car and needed more info so i could make plans to see the car. She didnt call back and I ended up buying a car in my area. She called 2 weeks later wondering when i was coming. NOT EXCEPTABLE.
Excellent customer service and reasonable prices
I couldn't ask for a better experience. I knew if this dealership was recommended by USAA they would not disappoint. Miriam and Alex were courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable from the second I walked in.
Steve was personable & great to work with. We are excited about our purchase.
Overall good experience
Managed to get the car ready for us to drive away that day. Alex and Miriam were very helpful and efficient in the whole process!
Unfriendly, rude at times and lost my business
I called to get more info on a car before I drove 100 miles to see it in person. The woman I spoke with was rude and had no information on the car. She said" we buy them at auction and sell them, our mechanics look at them but that's all." I asked for the mechanics opinion on the car and she never could produce a statement or document of the cars evaluation.
Worst Dealers, you can find...
Warranty that they call on their website is just on names. You have to pay for everything even if it has issues next day.
An Enjoyable Quality experience
Let me start by stating that what I look for in buying a used vehicle is honesty of the staff, quality of the vehicle and the price. For me - A Better Way - had all three so I bought the car. Is the facility the best? NO. Did the facility serve the purpose of giving me a place to talk to the sale person, Miriam? Yes. If it wasn't the prettiest then that's OK for me since I got the best deal I could find in the whole US for the car I was searching for. I drove up to CT from VA to inspect the car and it was, I would say, in better condition than they describe to me over the phone. Having just done the same a couple of weeks earlier to a dealer in FLA and being very disappointed with the quality after being told how good it was this was great. We put a deposit down and now, 2 weeks later, I'm more than happy with the purchase. Everything they promised to do they did and never blinked an eye when I questioned them on any aspect of the purchase. The buying experience was better than the last one we had at our local MB dealer and they weren't asking top dollar for the all the MB finery around. I saved over 10K compared to the dealers in the area and I still have 2+ years on the new car warranty. We'll definitely give them the first crack at our next used car purchase. We'd be happy to recommend them to our friends and neighbors.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
They wanted an immediate deposit of 1000$ just to go get the car from the lot. No idea how they are still in business. They finally brought me the car after 40 minutes of waiting around. The car was falling apart but of course those parts of the car were not pictured. The BMW looked fine outside but inside was peeling, discolored etc. They were rude too, and no waiting place or anyone to talk to upon arrival.
Stay Away - They have a bad Rep
Place sucks. Havecould you be in business and run a place like thIs? Service = horrible. Reputation = horrible. reliability = horrible. Dont do business here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place should be condemned. Read other reviews.
Not a bad place after all!
I wanted to see a car they had on the lot and Miriam made arrangements for me to meet Deon to help me get any questions answered with regards to the car. I was late but he still waited for me after hours respecting the fact that I was driving from 2 hours away. Was honest about the flood damage on the car and was accommodating all my requests - to get the car inspected by the dealer, replace the A/C etc., Did not take a lot of time for me to decide on the car and dropped a deposit on the car too. unfortunately, due to my open loans, I was unable to get another loan - Miriam and Deon were courteous enough to let me know about the loan results and said that they'd refund the deposit as soon as possible and they did :) If the car is still on the lot and I get rid of one of my loans, I would definitely be driving there again to pick up the car! Thanks Deon and Miriam..
Great I got my dream car off of Cars.com the people dealership was really nice. They help me with everything I needed. I bought a 2003 mercedes benz s600 witch was my dream car and I love it. I havent had any problems at all.
Don't go out of your way
A 2 hour drive from where I live, I called up this dealership to verify the car I had seen on the internet hadn't been sold and was available for a test drive. They told me their entire listed inventory is always available for test drive, so I packed a second driver in case I decided to buy and made the trip. I walked into the dealership and since all of the salesmen were on the phone (no receptionist, or place wait to wait) I kinda wandered around the office for 10 minutes before being helped. Once a salesman approached me, I advised him of the car I saw online and he left to retrieve it from the lot. Half hour later he returned and told me he couldn't find it and that he was leaving the office for the day, another salesman would look around for the car. Forty minutes after that, he returned to tell me he could not find the car either. They did not offer to show me any comparable cars on the lot.
My experience at A Better Way Auto was the best experience ever.
Inquiry about a car they advertised - bad
Called about a very well priced car. Asked why the price is so low, they said because they wholesale cars. Then asked about why pictures are not on the site and they said they don't know. Asked about the condition, and they said they don't know. So I had to waste $40 on carfax to find out this car was a total loss, they bought at auction and are now selling. THEY ARE NO GOOD IN MY OPINION. They could have simply told me it was in an accident and they fixed (or did not fix) it.
I emailed about a car I was interested in but never got a reply. I call about a car I saw that was perfect for what I wanted and was told it was gone. They never volunteered other options. Weeks later it is still on the web site. All personal feedback I have received has been to stay away from this place. I did.
Cars they offer online are not availible
I contacted them concerning several of the cars they had listed on the internet and all of the cars were already sold. Also you have to call them directly because they do not seem to reply to their emails. Apparently they leave the cars that they have already sold on their website for a long time--website not updated.
GOOD DEALER GREAT PRICES AND VERY GOOD CARS..
I PURCHASE NISSAN ARMADA WHIT 1 DAY PROSSES AND THE HELP ME TO GET VERY GOOD INTERES WHIT MY FINACE BANK
Save your self
Beware of this place they think they're smart they can just get any body i bought a car from them and it broke down second day. So i called they said they would fix it more like they're playing cat and mouse game they're waiting so my warranty is over. Well guess what i took it for inspection right after i bought the car next day and it failed and they said it passed really wipers, ball joint, tires, tail light, transmission leaking and the list goes on. Now im going to DMV and the court with a copy of a inception paper and records of faxed paper and call records. We will see who wins.............
Things that make you go, hmmmmm
I was trying to buy a vehicle from these guys alittle while ago. I was looking at them and drove down to them to see about making a sale. I know most car buying places will allow you to go slightly lower for the cost and everything. Well, the guy even said you need $1000 to save the car you want. $1000 to save a car that you may or may not be able to sale. And you are not even going to work with me for this sale? I know alot of other car places that are willing to work with the person to make commission or whatever. But, not these guys, these guys are just wanting to make money and that's it. They do not care about the little guy. I seen a mother from NY come down to the dealership to see about making a deal. From what I heard out of the conversation, the car was not the same car and it was painted with spray paint. Really guys, you can't even give it a decent paintjob to even try to make a sale, nope. But, I do not blame that mother that day for freaking out on the sales person because he was definitely full of hot air when he said that he would paint it and all. The guy I was dealing with had too much ego for his own good. He thought he was high and mighty and owned the place and I do not deal with people like that. I can understand the whole car buying process. But, do not follow me like a lost puppy if you have these many cars on the lot. I'm not your owner and nor are you my friend. I think they really need to change up their sales stuff and allowing the customer to look around at all stocks of vehicles and let them come to you. But, that also includes making yourself available for them to talk to. Every so often, the dealer would be running off at 20 minutes at a time to pick up vehicles from other lots around the area to have them show me what they got. If they were making this much money off of people like they claim, why couldn't they buy a bigger lot to fit more cars in? So, I definitely do not like these people. I definitely refuse to deal with them. I refuse everything from them until they change up their attitude.
Terrible pre-sales. Got out as soon as I could!
I was in for a rude awakening when I arrived at the dealership. I was told by the sales representative that I must have $1,000 cash with me (for the down payment) if I want to take a look at the car. As per him, I needed to prove that I am a serious customer or else he is not going to waste his time on me. (Well, I had come from 30 miles away, just to waste their time??? Wonderful!) I conclude from my conversation with the representative that if they show their cars to a customer, he has an obligation to buy the car from them. Well, quite an interesting sales policy. I am much better off without it, then.
THE WORSE WAY TO GO
I believe I a man with a lot of patience but this dealer has tax my patience. I put a down payment on this car on June 16th. To date I do not have the car. The dealer claims that they do not have the title. I travelled all the way from New Jersey to Ct to pick up only to be disappointed. My advise to you is stay clear because thiis dealer is the WORSE WAY TO GO.
do not bother. Their advertized price is not true
Many calls were not returned. Price that was advertized is not the price you will pay. Can't secure car with refundable deposit. Waste of time.
I've been to this dealership twice now. Both have been the worst experiences in attempting to buy a car. They're the financial equivalent of a boiler room. When you walk in there are 10-12 desks set up in rows. Half the sales people will be on the phone or "helping" customers, the other half will be actively avoiding you. And if you walk up to the sales desk and and try to engage a manager, they'll help everyone but you. Pictures of the vehicles, whether it be on their site or other cars sales sites will appear to be good and thorough but you'll find them to be less revealing of any flaws when you physically see the car. Without that disclosure, you may feel deceived as I did. The second time I was there, while waiting for over a half an hour for the salesman to find the car for me to test drive, another couple came in, test drove the car and bought it. All while I was waiting for my salesman to get the car. He just disappeared. Upon reappearing, he insulted my intelligence and proceeded to tell me there was nothing he could do. Since the other couple was financing the car and I was paying cash, selling to the other couple was better for the business. I am buying 4 vehicles over the next 6 months for my business. I would never consider again, buying one at A BETTER WAY WHOLESALE.
I'm glad I know cars because they don't.
My girlfriend's daughter was buying her first car and saw their ad. She picked out 5 CARS that she wanted to look at. We parked in their tiny lot and went inside. I knew immediately that we would NOT be buying a car here, but since we had driven nearly 45 minutes, I decided to see what this place was about. We sat down with the salesman and he proceeded to tell us everyone of the 5 cars was already sold. A 6th car on our list was available, but there was no picture on the internet. I suggested we go to the lot to look and was told that, due to CT law, we couldn't go on to the lot. What?? I texted by girlfriend, who was sitting with the dealer, that this place was not where we wanted to look. I told the dealer that I thought something was wrong and he said, "We sell over a 100 cars a month. What's wrong with that?" I basically stood up, said we should "run like we've never run before" and we left the dealership. In retrospect, I began to think. They advertised 5 cars between 6-8 years old, each having less than 50,000 miles. IMPOSSIBLE. Cars average 12-15K miles a year, unless it's Grandma's car that never goes anywhere. So, a 6 year old car should have roughly 72,000-90,000 miles, but their's only have 35-45K? Really? That screams of odometer tampering. When we got home, I read these reviews and thought I was so grateful that I went with my g/f and her daughter. They may have been taken in by these scam artists. Don't go here, stay away, avoid it like the plague. I don't know how else to tell you but this is not the place to get a car.
Worest place to deal with
I beg that nobody deals with this place! I walked in telling them I was only able to afford a certain amount of money every month for a car payment, where I was assured I would be able to get that as a payment. I put the $1000 down to get the process ready where the nightmare began! I was told 2days later to get the insurance all set where my car was all set and I kept asking how much is my loan and was told I need to discuss that with finance but still assured I would be paying what I asked for. Then was told my car wasn't ready it was the wrong vehicle. Went down to talk to finance and was told I wouldn't get what I asked for but let them see what they could do and then was told they had to replace the transmission. A week later my vehicle is ready I go down with another $2500 to put down.. Wait for hours to get through finance finally speak with finance where they added a whole bunch of fees on to my loan and still was paying $30 more then what I asked by this time I was so stressed I just wanted to leave. 2days later I see a few things wrong and call to bring it back where theygive me an apt to bring it in, in 2weeks. As I drove it more and more, more things were wrong with it. I was only able to drive it for a week after ppurchasing it and it sat in my parking lot for another week while I waited to bring it back. I brought it back with a list of problems was called 4dayslater was told everything was fixed, picked it up only for my battery light to be on. I turned right back around and told them to fix it. They have had my vehicle for over a week now and they don't supply a loaner. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE! They have the worst attitude and every single person I deal with is so rude I can't take it. I've contacted a lawyer but was told I will spend more $ trying to get my money back and the bank I got my loan from can't help either. DONT BUY A CAR I REPEAT DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
Certified Auto Technichians NOT
Bought the car Friday, went to pick it up on Tuesday. While getting gas hit the Moon roof and it stayed open. Thank god I was only 1/2 mile away, took it back they fixed it before they closed. On my way driving home to UpState, NY the Emergency Air Bag light came on and the tire pressure tracking mechanism. They had me bring it back in for that and a whinning noise in the rear end. The lights were fixed, but the rear end noise continued. Took it back in they had it from 7am to 5pm only to tell me they could not hear whatever it was I was hearing. Frustrated I drove home to Upstate and took it to a reputable Cadillac dealer who told me the Right Rear wheel bearing was bad and should be replace for safety. Now, after this reputable Car Dealer repair bill came $554.32 I am asking them to share in half the cost, because they outright 'LIED" to me.............unbelievable the great feeling you have when you see that dream car that suddenly turns out to be a "LEMON". I will keep the car, now that it has been seen and repaired by real automobil mechanics......................I WOULD NOT WISH THIS EXPERIENCE ON MY WORST ENEMY
Saved at the last second
I was all set to make a deal with A Better Way Wholesaler. The dealer called to say "We sure can take your offer! C'mon down!" But then I came here to read the reviews. *shrreeecchhhh!* is the sound of my brakes as one reviewer after another gave stern warnings about their practices. The deal-breaker was the fact that I sent my offer in at 8 a.m., but their internet sales guy dropped the car another two grand BELOW offer at about the same time! Granted, its not their fault I offered two grand more and they happily accepted. They're in business, of course. But the car also has an accident listed under Carfax, and I'd rather not invest in something with potential issues down the road, either. I'll give em a two-star "fair" rating for at least leaving me a bubbly happy phone message saying they accepted my [now-defunct] offer.
Went to this dealership to shop for cars, drove for an hour. They did not have any cars that they advertised. One car I was interested in took the 45min and could not be found. They later said it was in the shop. Was planing on coming back to view until I read all the bad reviews of the dealer. As the saying goes, if it sounds to good it probably is. Thanks reviews
DONT BY FROM A BETTER WAY YOU LOOKING FOR TROUBLE
I WISH I WOULD OF HAD READ THE REVIEW BEFORE I BOUGHT A CAR FROM THIS PLACE. VERY BAD PLACE. TAKE MY WORD THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD.
Worst costumer service ever, call to try
Very bad costumer service, not even 'Hi', after multiple calls they always says 'we don't have car' which is listed. I drove hundred mile to the dealer and nobody wanted to help or sell any car.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!
Purchased my car 6 months ago and the day after I purchased it, the engine light came on. I immediately brought it back to them to which they had the car for over 2 weeks saying that they were replacing the engine. I got the car back and it is now back in the shop...a reputable shop! They say that the engine is bad and needs to be completely replaced! 3000 bucks! CALLING A LAWYER ASAP!
drove 2 hours in traffic to see car - no engine
we phoned the dealership to check on a specific car. Cars.com had the full report, photos, video, etc. We checked and it was available. Drove 2 hours into CT. to see car and when we arrived, discovered that it didn't have an engine in it yet. Unbelieveable! Why would it be listed in detail with video and not have an engine? That's a day and a tank of gas that I'll never get back.
Somewhat prompt service
Way Better Wholesale notified me within 48hrs. and sent me a nice email, telling me that the car I wanted, had a deposit. They went further to say that If I wanted anything else, I should look at their site etc. I then replied a 2nd time - asking them to keep an eye out for a specific car but did not get a 2nd reply. This puzzles me a bit. Do they want to make a sale or not?
ohhh man worst mistake ever done!!!!
don't buy there ever, price seems nice but it isn't , price is actually more expensive than other dealers around, not to mention the costumer service worst of all them, bad experience I have ever had!!! don't buy there you will regret it!!!! even if you do, beware of oil changes fee is over 2 thousand, take your time and do be rushed at anytime because they are always in a rush!!!
Probably the WORST way to buy a car!
I didn't make it past the parking lot. Parking attendant was completely rude and NASTY over where I parked my car. The lot is TINY and they DON'T want you to park in their lot but instead across the street at a strip mall or on the street. I found a small spot out of the way and was met with a nasty lot attendant. More like a THUG demanding that I move my car. I asked first if he knew if the car I was looking for was there since there weren't many cars for sale at the actual building and he rudely said. I'll let you know when you move your car. I did move my car, back home without even going in.
BEWARE NOT A DEALERSHIP, BUT A MIDDLEMAN
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. MADE A DEPOSIT AND CANCELLED THE SAME DAY AND IT TOOK 2 MONTHS TO GET MONEY BACK. BEWARE!!! NO DOT FALL IN THE TRAP. THIS IS A SMALL TIME DEALER WHO IS I NTERNET SAVVY AND LIST CARS BELONGING TO DIFFERENT DEALERS AND PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS. THEN WHE YOU BUY, HE GETS A CUT.... POOR COMMUNICATION, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND LISTING AND ADVERTISING ARE ACTUALLY DECIVING!!!! BEWARE. DO NOT BUY HERE
Ended up with a decent car after a few post-purchase repairs and expenses, but not worth the aggravation. Customer service is practically non-existent.
Shady business, chaotic, unprofessional
I drove 150 miles to see a truck that looked decent online and was a good price. I was shocked at what I saw when I arrived. Loud, rude people. A room full of weird looking desks and complete chaos. A bunch of odd stories about not allowing customers to wander the lot due to CT law....I'd love to see if there was any truth to that. Well, the truck pulls up full of tools, wheels, and other miscellaneous junk in the bed....dented on every side like someone was playing bumper cars with it. Nothing like it was advertised as. The salesman was very personable but I was there to buy a vehicle, not make a friend. Please don't waste your time at this sub-par facility. I will be taking my hard earned money to a dealership where the cars are cared for and where I feel appreciated. This place was a nightmare.
completely non responsive
Send multiple requests to this dealer for more info on the vehicle they are selling - all I could get from them was a form letter auto-sent via email, but they would not answer any of my questions. Not very good pre-sales service, and if their pre-sales service is that poor, I have to assume their post-sales service is even worse.
Avoid This Dealership
This has been the worst car-buying experience I have ever had. Though there are a lot of cars to choose from, it is NOT worth the time, money, effort, and aggravation. As of now, I am stranded without a car I bought three months ago and have only had for a few days at a time. Their big selling point is that anything they find wrong with car that will cause it to be unsafe to drive, they'll fix on their own dime. That's actually the law. My car stalled at the very first light after I picked it up after they signed off on it. I brought it back. I'm still waiting on a reimbursement for the rental. I've brought it back twice since then, same problem, and they've had it for over a month. They hang up on me after putting me on hold, they leave you on hold for 10+ minutes, they tell you it'll be ready that afternoon and they'll call you and they don't and the car isn't ready. They don't give you a loaner. They won't explain to me what's wrong with the car, what they've found, what they've done to it. Maybe it's because I'm a woman. Everything about this experience has been a nightmare. Avoid this dealership at all costs.
Terrible. Do NOT waste your time or money
Horrible service. I bought a rendezvous. They told us that. Only the radiator needed to be fixed. They have had it on and off for three months fixing it. They have replaced everything including the engine. But the issue is. It's worse every time they fix something. It's like they put gun on it and give it back. They do the bare minimum and don't care about their customers. This is a bad place to buy. If you do want to buy from here. Bring your mechanic with you because the car gets worse once they give it back to you after you buy it. Beware.
This is a horrible dealership, I do not recommend this dealership for anyone. Don't let the price of the cars fool you, there is a reason they sell for cheap. The quality is just not there.
Very sketchy. Don't be stupid.
If you walk into the dealership walk right out, something is just not right about that place. Although you may really want a car, there are many other cars and dealerships out there. As you can see by many other reviews this place is not one to be near. Sales people said some very sketchy things. you DO NOT want to put your money in the hands of people like these, they're not trust worthy. I wouldn't buy a bicycle from this place let alone a car.
Wrong Car information
We recently looked into buying a car with ABW Autos. We test drove a black honda pilot which we were told was a 2006 with 40,000 miles on it, which is what the odometer read. We put our $1,000 depoist and applied for financing. A day before we were to come and get the car, we decided to check the cars car fax (i know we should of checked before, but they don't use the car fax, we were told "its prone to human error", BIG red flag i know). In checking the car fax the car showed that it had one owner and the last odometer reading which was a few weeks before ABW got it, the odometer read 60,975 miles on. WTH. We called and spoke with the sales person who stated that couldn't be right, and that he would get to the bottom of this. A hour later the sales man calls back and says that paper work we have was wrong. He entered a different VIN number than what the car we test drove. The car we test drove was really a 2004 black honda pilot with 40,000 miles. The VIN number that is on the paper work that he filled out is really for a silver 2006 honda pilot with 60,975 miles on it. So our paper reads the VIN number for a 2006 pilot but the odometer and color and make of the car are for the 2004 honda pilot-which makes our contract null and void since the car doesn't really exsist, which should mean that we should get the $1,000 back since the sales man made a HUGE MISTAKE. Mind you we had all ready started our insurnace on the car for the day of ou pick up. The sales man then tells me i can't have the $1,000 that it was non refundable and that it can go to another car when we find with them-what a scam!! We decided to give the salemen the benefit of the doubt and and look at the car that we hadnt seen yet. But after a few days of the salesman being rude and constantly putting off when this car would be ready we decided its best we go soemwhere else. We were fotunate to be able to cancel our check and our bank was able to get the funds back, But i will never go back and I wouldn't trust them at all.
This company does a good job. Very busy, fast service. Different then conventional dealerships, but they got the goods and you need to work with them. Proud of the deal we got there.
Went to ABW to look at a few cars. I had to have a "sales person" look up the car that I wanted to see, then wait 10 minutes for him to ride with another "sales person" to the car lot about 1/2 mile down the road to get the car and bring it back to the main building. The service engine light was on, the handle for the back door was broke, etc. The tranny slipped from 1st to 2nd as soon as I pulled out. But all the "sales person" kept saying was what a great car it was and a great deal. I'll never go there again. Worst place ever.
This place is SHADY! Watch out!
Spoke to three different sales people, a few acted like they didn't have time to talk or even wanted to talk on the phone. Requested additional info and they never came thru on that either. I flew from St. Louis to pick up a vehicle and when I got there the vehicle was trashed. They conveniently left out details about the vehicle like it had been wrecked, interior body molding was broken, and a few other things. Make sure you do all your homework on anything you might even consider buying. Get all the details and don't trust a word they say. Buyers Beware. If it's too goo to be true than it probably is.
deposit return delays
the sales man and the finance guy were awesome. the return of the deposit not so much. after 5 days waiting for the finance decision, i requested the return of the deposit. i was told " the book keeper said it will take about a week" so i waited and called again, to be told, " she told me it takes about three weeks to clear the bank." i don't know what bank they use but all the banks i've used take 48 hours to clear a check. so our car shopping is at a standstill because our money is held up at a better way. three weeks is ridiculous !!!! i would have recommended them to everyone except for this issue.
Check the reviews first
I applied for financing through ABW's website and have not received ANY form of communication in response. This is extremely frustrating because after entering in a bunch of personal information and sending several emails, I basically just handed out all my info for NOTHING. Why even have the application on your website if you're not going to follow up with potential customers?? After reading a bunch of really bad reviews about this dealership and hearing of the bad experiences that some friends have had, I will never buy a car from ABW. It's very poor customer service to not contact potential customers, especially when that potential customer has given personal info with the intention of making a large purchase. I generally don't give out info online, but in the interest of convenience (I work full-time and go to school, plus my car is falling apart and the dealership is almost an hour away from me) I thought it would save time and simplify the process... turns out I was wrong. I highly discourage people from going here. Read other people's reviews and decide for yourself.
Rude and obviously misleading
Called abt a vehicle and guy was completely rude and would not even look the vehicle up just said they had it and when I asked if it had been damaged told me it was my job to "do homework" to figure that out. Then I got off the phone w him bc he was so rude called back and another lady said vehicle had sold but ad was still up.
Weird sales technique
They don't mention damage to vehicle in add. They make you commit $1,000 before they do anything to the vehicle to get it ready for the road. It's kind of stange. The prices don't seem as good as they state. I found better prices at other dealers for cars in better condition. Dealer's who fix the cars prior to asking you for money.
Sales person extremely rude. He was not trying to help with any questions.
bad dealership dont let the prices fool you !!!!!!
they don't even deserved any start but I have to put one! they are bunch of lairs with bunch of bad cars bringing them from auction selling them to people with retail prices covering with whole sale name to fool people around with that name!! they dont even inspect any car before they sell em !! i bought a car from them 2005 marquis they told the car in perfect condition body was all scratched up A/C did not works need brake rotors tie rod and front end !!! and with all these problems they said car was inspected !!!
STAY AWAY! THIS IS NOT A "BETTER WAY"!
I bought a 2000 accord from "a better way" back in 2006, 62 days after I bought the car (2 days after the dealer's warranty) the tired popped off my car as I was about to get on the highway with my newborn baby in the car! I called the dealer and after getting the run around for a few days of phone tag they said their "warranty" had expired and there was nothing they could do. I looked into the $1500 warranty I bought and that didn't cover repairs either! Turns out the ball joint disconnected from it's socket (I'm no mechanic) but it cost me $1300 in repairs! if they really did the 30 point inspection they said they did, this shouldn't have happened! Anywhoooo, the judge agreed, I took the dealer to small claims court and won my money back for repairs, seems the owner was too busy to show up so he sent his "no nothing" mechanic to do his dirty work (he didn't do such a good job now did he?!) I'm searching for a new car now and I will never return here! Oh and I forgot to mention, ironically enough a co-worker of mine bought her Jetta here as well (before I knew her) and she's had nothing but problems with it ( she has since gotten a new car from a better dealer)!
Cheap is good, but not that good....
I buy a lot of cars. I was in the market for a Mercedes R Class vehicle for our business. They are great people movers without the mini-van look. A Better Way had the best priced R class cars, and we bought one from Dan Reagan, our sales advisor, having never driven it. Don't bother calling about a car -- whatever they tell you won't match what you find when you visit. The purchase agreement had a test drive contingency because the car couldn't be driven when we came to look at it. When we picked up our vehicle a few days later, our 2007 R350, which we were assured had undergone a thorough check, we were in for a surprise. A day later, the R350, which had told us it had a bad battery, needed service, and was overdue for a "E" service stop stopped working altogether. The Mercedes roadside assistance team, which came to help out determined that every major system in the vehicle had fault codes. My calls to Dan, who had been super responsive before the sale, have gone unanswered. So, here's the summary: they buy cheap cars at auction that they sell to you at a healthy margin for them, but still decent price for you. The prices are low, because the cars are often high mileage or bruised. If you have the tolerance for a project vehicle that needs a bit more love in its later years, these folks are for you. If you are simply looking for a good deal, you're better off with a more service oriented place. The savings from the vehicles at ABM will probably be repaid in service trips to a quality repair shop or dealer and trips to Naugatuck that you're rather not make. I wish it were better, but sadly, it isn't.
OK maybe its not fair to review because i was only in the place briefly to ask about a car, but i could tell that the negative reviews are plausible. The place was crowded and chaos with desks and people everywhere. Unprofessional environment. Asked for the sales rep i spoke with on the phone -- guy gets on his cell phone and calls him at his home to come down ... lol. Didn't even tell me the guy's not around. finally decided to leave sensing this is not a great place to buy a car.
Worst dealership ever
I purchased my car last year and the check engine light came on right as I got home. Brought it back twice and did nto do a single thing. They said they repaired my veh but they never did. Everything still does not work. They are a very sketchy and very untrustworthy dealership. I will never go there again, for sales or service.
WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD
I am appalled by the customer service at this place. Over a two week period, I was told 3 different stories about a car that they continued to update online and show as available. The first time I was rudely told "it was sold" then when I mentioned that it had just been updated, the salesperson basically told me they were way too busy and then hung up. The second time- one should learn after the first time- my husband was told that yes, the car was in stock, the salesman took his phone number and then never called back. My husband called again, and was told- oh, it is going back to auction. Today, the car pops up again- I call, just to be sure. A very friendly gentleman actually told me it was there, checked the stock number and confirmed it was ready to be sold! I then told him what had previously occurred, and he kindly went to double check. After being on hold, the phone rang and a very rude man answered. Answering the phone with a mouthful of food- not a great start. Calling me "darling" and telling me he will not put me back on hold to wait for the other gentleman, because then the phone might just ring again by him... wow- he should lose him job. I then asked to speak to the manager, and was told- wow- and put on hold. After speaking with the manager- was it Joe? I don't know- he let me speak for about 30 seconds, then he actually hung up on me! Little do these unprofessional, rude, and frankly- not the brightest- used car salesman know is that this "darlin'" had 10k in cash to buy a car from them- My advice, stay FAR AWAY. As a professional business woman, I have never dealt with such disrespectful people in my life- and that is saying a lot.
Never got in touch with me
Tried to contact dealer through cars.com and through their web site: they never responded, and the vehicle I was interested in is no longer listed. However, based on the vast majority of the other reviews here, I may have dodged a bullet with this dealer.
A place that will make you wish to not buy a car
I went to this dealer after I saw a Toyota on cars.com.I liked the car, I took some money with me to make a downpayment....I was sure that that day I wold buy a car. Everything was ok until I meet the dealer employee. He's rudeness make me change my mind in 5 minutes. When we went to he's desk he make us wait so he could finish to clean his nails!!! First he told me that he will show me the car only if he was sure that we will buy it ?!....Unreal. After that when I saw the car and asked him about some scratches on the back of the car he told me and I quote : you know what I don't want to sell you a car. This place look like cheap but they won't show you any carfax or in my case even the car before they are sure that you are enough stupid to accept they's conditions. Don't waste your time people, the place isn't worth it.
I went with my wife to buy a car at this dealer. The salesman was really really rude. We ask to see the car and he told us that before that he want to be sure that we are going to buy the car ?!! At the end we decided ( ....also ask my self why we didn't go away from that moment....) to see the car. My wife saw some scratches on the back of the car and told me about. I asked the guy what happen, was it a accident or something and he responded, and I quote: You know guys I DON'T WANT TO SELL YOU A CAR ! My advice ? Go to this dealer only if you take pleasure to be treated bad....
dont waste your time, horrible place to shop
went out 3.5 hours to view a car (special edition) they had on their lot. Horrible horrible horrible. the pictures they have online were not of the same vehicle (or didn't appear to be). upon inspecting the vehicle, all sorts of body damage and to top it off, they had to jump start it to get it going then cut out after a few minutes. was informed they do not have CARFAX or process the vehicles into their shop until they are sold as a set price, which is lower than most but for the poor quality it was a huge waste of a day to drive to CT best part is we went to buy 2 cars in cash, the other car was def in a flood, all sorts of water damage - salesman claimed he knew nothing of the car.....what kind of salesman knows nothing of the product he is selling???? he tried to show me a bunch of cars (not the special ones I came to view) and said he could find me something soon if I put down a deposit??? why would i put a deposit on something i couldnt view first???? needless to say we left very appalled by their facility and lack of caring for customers. the office is a huge room with desks jammed together, the car lot is not even located in the area (1.5 miles away) and to top it all off we made an apt to test drive it and were told we couldnt test drive either one - not a drop of gas in either and one didnt stay running horrible horrible horrible
Examine Final Sale Paper Work!
I bought a used SUV on finance from this dealer. Without my knowledge the woman who handles the final sales paper work jack up the price on the vehicle and try to sneak in an "oil change for life option" that I didn't agree to. Buyers beware! Walk through your final paper work with a fine tooth comb before you sign anything.
THE WORST DEALERSHIP ON THE PLANET!
there is no customer service offered whatsoever and the so called sales people are there just to hangout & swindle people no matter what your credit score may be. my credit score was 740 and they were like sharks in the ocean. they attempted to con me into signing for a vehicle + ALL TYPES OF MISC. FEES. BUYERS BEWARE THE "BETTER WAY" THEY ARE REFERRING TO ONLY LACES THEIR POCKETS at YOUR EXPENSE.
traveled an hour for nothing
called about a specific truck , made appointment to see , salesman late for appointment, I was told truck was sold . Was told they could find me a similar truck , and told when they call me I should put a $1000 down payment over the phone to Hold truck , no way I will do that without even seeing truck, told them I would want diesel mechanic shop to check the truck over and told that wasent allowed. What kind of place wont let you have a car or truck checked over by another shop ?
Never go here.
I was looking around for a Ford Fusion, then I saw that they had a few of them at really good prices. I went there and the cars were in decent / average condition, but extremely dirty inside and out. The problem is they had the wrong mileage on Cars.com compared to the two that I looked at, the part where they make their money is in an insane amount of "dealer fees", and they're customer service is horrible. I asked to take one for a test drive, and they actually told me I had to pay for the gas I would have used on the test drive!
Two time buyer
I've bought two F-150's there. The 1st in Jan '11, it had high mileage and a few small dents. I did my own foot work in scouring the lot, i inspected it carefully with a flashlight i brought and ran a carfax on my smart phone while i met with the salesperson, it had been a fleet vehicle. I paid cash so no experience w/finance dept. they said it would take 3 days to prep and it took 5, not the end of the world. They didn't do a great job w/ the wash so I re-did it to my liking once home. They told me the oil was changed but I didn't check. I drove that truck for 13 months and 11k miles until I totaled it against a tree. After that time and mileage, and deducting my $1000 deductible, and more dents i put on it during that year, the insurance still paid me $1,800 more than I had paid for it. I went back for another '06 F-150 in March '12, again I did my due diligence, I found some issues which they fixed, again slower than promised and with used parts, but I was fine, it's a used truck after all and was fine in the end. It had been making a ticking noise I thought was the valves but when I went to adjust them I discovered it was a common problem with these motors and had to do with the variable timing. An independent shop have me guidance and i went back to ABW and after some haggling they offered to either replace the motor with a used motor from a salvage yard for free or install new rebuilt motor if I bought the extended warranty for $500, which I did, giving me 100k mile protection. I've now driven this truck 9k miles and no other problems. Yes it was a hassle and their customer service is awfull, they were always too busy to hold my hand when I went there and calls were all very abrupt, but I consider that the price to pay for the savings I got. Don't go there if you want full service, go to a retail dealer and pay retail prices. I wanted to provide a balanced point of view to all the posters who went to this wholesaler looking for a retail experience. Know what you want and put in the work, save a lot of $, or make it easy on yourself, go to CARMAX and pay 40% more. You have choices. I came upon this because I'm heading back there in a week to look for a car for my parents. It's good for me because I'm 1/2 hr away, if you are from far, these delays and multiple repair trips get costlier and more of a hassle, you have to decide how much hassle is 4-5k worth to you... My "new" truck is still book trade in about 4k more that I paid for it last year.
The people are very rude, disorganized and unprofessional...total waste of my time never thought that I would have such a horrible experience shopping for a car. I've been waiting for my car over two weeks now and they keep tellin their waiting for the title to arrive. They where qucik to take my money but not so quick in responding to all my questions .. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place at all.
NEVER GO THERE
Waited a month for my Jeep to be ready. When i call them they hang up on you and yell at you. Go to CarMax or somewhere else
very rude people
these people are very rude I called to ask about a Jeep and the man told me I can't get it because my credit was poor but he could put me in something else that I was not interested in so he got mad and said well u can't be picky with your credit and said well I can't tie up thins line and hung up on me and before I call I went to look at some of the cars they have and half of them have no warranty and most of them look like junk cars one had a bullet hole on the hood
not smelling right
car smells moldy salesman stated window was left open in the rain, ( hmmm flood damage ?????) no gas in car to test drive salesman had gas can readily available to put gas in vehicle (hmmm is he using the correct octane or is he putting 87 in a mercedes ????) to be continued before I make purchase...this week
Go somewhere else
Don't buy warranty it is not worth the paper it's writen on. If it sounds too good to be true it is. The service is terrible. They have no idea what they are doing and their cars ae all junk.
Please stay away from this car dealer.. They hit you with all types of fees..And most important "do not buy extended warranty" they make youit sound like that extended warranty covers everything and does not. They say all ASE certified mechanics will fix your car with that same warranty.Guesss what my ASE certified mechanic said? my mechanic specifically told me its a total scam! My mechanic specifically said to spread the word out and avoid these people. I am so disgusted.I dont even have 30 days with the car I bought and found so many things wrong with it. Supposedly the extended warranty would cover .I called up the dealer and no one seems to give me information, ignoring all my calls.Havent even made my first payment yet and im already dealin with this.Im stuck with a car that does not work and have to pay for 3 years.I understand they try to sell you a car but there is no need to lie and promising they will take care of you, Good people i advise you to please stay away from them.Their feedback speaks for themselves.DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM "A BETTER WAY!" LOOK AT THEIR FEEDBACK ITS THE HONEST TRUTH
Salvage cars/flood/severe damage f.e. Honda fit 10
1. Misrepresentation of the inventory. (the car is total loos and salvage - no any comments or remarks. They dont show car fax or any info about previous history 2. Customers who want to spent less money - would definitely dead treap. first you pay 1000 - 2000$ cheaper, then would never resell or trade in for even 50% of what you paid. A friend of mine had same experience buying "reconstructed title car. 3.Top rated - who advertized a lot as a rule never put necessary attention to all the car details and specifications. 4. Potential Buyers- please, check real reviews first! Don't let the Cheap Numbers chance your decision!!!
very bearaucratic slow and mediocal
Very slow and bureaucratic. Must improve on their turn around time in dealing with customer.
Example: Great service, clean facilities
They sell you a piece of crap car ! I bought a car in 08 the first thing I noticed was in place of the towing cap on my bumper they input the top to a black spray paint can instead ...seriously ?? Then the exhaust had a leak so I went to get it repaired .. Well that was a mistake .. The mechanic side swiped my car pulling it into the garage! They had it painted of course and the paint job was terrible ..the guy who painted it told me that my car wasn't taking the paint well because there was so much bondo underneath ! Then about after a year of owning my car my transmission blew and my paint on my front fenders and bumper started pealing off ! I had to get a new transmission and a paint job after only a year of owning a car with 42000 miles ! What a joke do not buy from this place they sell u salvaged cars !
worst place to buy used car
This place is crazy you have to chase a sells man down and when you get one they sell you a vehicle that breaks down in less then 90days. I PURCHASED a ford explorer 2003 and it had an exhaustion leak and the transmission blow in 60 days. now i am left without a car a large bill. WARNING NEVER NEVER BUY FROM BETTER WAY AUTO!!!
Good whole sale
This is a whole sale auto all cars are worth there value .(wait in gold). The people help me ASAP and I had no problem picking out the right car,I took my time and found one there are a lot to choose from, ya some are lemons but every car dealer byes from the auction maybe it's there fault .
good deal- bad dealer
When I arrived at Best Way,I felt I was in Disney Land without Mickey. The place was total chaos. rudeness was the order of the day. I had seen a 2009 Cadillac STS V8 on line at a good price. After a few weeks, they dropped the price an additional 5000.00 dollars. I pulled the Carfax to find the car had been hit in the left rear fender. I bought the car determined to make all necessary repairs on my own. The car had 42,000 miles on it. Therefor it was still covered by Cadillac. When I picked the car up it was filthy & would not start. The battery was dead. They accused me of not knowing how to start the car The battery was replaced by me, & other repairs were made by Cadillac at no cost The rear fender repair looked as if someone had put 40 lbs. of Bondo in the dent & forget to paint it. Iam satisfied with my purchase. But if you are not willing to do the research, Stay Away From Best Way!!!!!!!!
Don't go here.
Don't be fooled by the free food and drinks provided. It is all a scam just to make you wait there all day for them to tell you that your car won't be ready until tomorrow. I've been waiting for my car to be repaired for about 2 weeks now (when they told me it would be done the next day after I left 2 weeks ago) I am fed up and disgusted that I even came here to look at a car. Every day I called, they told me it would be done "tomorrow". They are liars and not to mention completely rude over the phone. They are unprofessional and I would never recommend them to anyone. Don't go here; you'll regret it. Their name makes no sense. They are not a better way....
Please do your search on the vehicle
Just like my title says, do your research on the car you are looking at. The ads will say how good of a price they are selling it for. But many cars are salvage titles/been damaged.
Shady, dishonest thieves
Upon taking a 1000 downpayment our car was not available for delivery 3 weeks after. They could not properly get it through emmissions. We were told we could cancel and they would send us our check. Only to be told two days later there is no refund. They got a 1000, and get to sell the car to another sucker. No apologies, or refund. SCAMMERS- BE WARE
best lot so far in ct
this is the far most reasonable lot ever i brought a new truck from them and i had the car for over a year in a half have not had to bring it back since then best sales person there to me his name is paul he will get u wat u looking for
No Frills - Good Deal
If you are looking for a good deal you can find them. If you expect good customer service, it is really up to the individual salesperson you get. Visited dealership and was surprised at their business model. High turnover is the name of the game. Take the Wholesale part of the name seriously. No frills - do not provide carfax or fix cars until they are purchased. Interesting way of doing business - probably costs them more than they realize. The Salesman had to jump start the a car and put gas in the car from a can - little respect for the vehicles. Once running it sounded like a tank - exhaust clearly had an issue. Was able to get a feel for how the car drove and overall looked. Salesman was unwilling to negotiate on the price. Never took down my name or number to follow-up. Left dealership without the car. Several weeks later they dropped the price - came back and purchased the car. Different salesperson handled the deal. Was quick and efficient and on my way within 45 minutes. Dealership sent extra key with title - that was a nice surprise. Overall, the experience was average. While I think I got a good deal - time will tell. Opportunities for improvement: (1) should detail the car inside and out. Sure it is a used car but a nice wax job would really help to get excited about the purchase. (2) a full tank of gas vs. $ 20 bucks. (3) remember the customer is paying for both the car and experience - make it fun and treat each customer as a VIP; not a number. Would I recommend this dealership to friends and others - yes but with reservations.
Reviews are fake from people
I stopped buy to see if they had a car I had been looking for, come to my surprise they did and was able to test drive it and everything. I hear what people say about the lot but you have to understand these cars are from an auction. They do not even belong to the dealer until sold and the auction house releases the title. This owner has a push of 450 cars a month higher then any dealer ship could even do on half price cars. If your scared and can not understand the way then find some other place, but if you would like a used car that could get you places then ask for RED and he will help you into something better. I will say this the price is the price remember the auction house is what tells the price not THEM thanks for reviewing.
Busy place, but great deals.
A Better Way Wholesale is a HIGH volume dealer. They have quick turnover and can seem pretty hectic when you visit. Don't expect the sales people to know everything about every car, because there are SO MANY cars. Do your research, test each car and you can get a GREAT car for a GREAT price. I got a 3 year old Volvo for below the trade in value. 2 years later I have had NO problems with the car at all.
In and Out
Was just the experience I was looking for in getting a used car. They went and grabbed it for me and made sure it was clean so I could take a test drive. I bought the car that I wanted and the respect of everything else. Will shop here again.
pictures always look better
Just as the other reviews say. Stay away! spend the thousand or 2 and get a clean accident free vehicle from a reputable dealer. We went to look at a few of the same SUV we had to search by ourselves multiple lots scattered all around. Dirty dirt lots full of all the junk they sell. I would never think about looking at a car here again.
Do a CARFAX
Was looking into a yellow boxster. After searching in all of their lots, I found the car behind the main shop waiting to be worked on. There was a tag on the window saying "Do not drive, overheat". I asked a sales person if the car had a clear title, he told me it did. After a CARFAX I found that it does have a clear title, but did not in IL, PA, FL ... the salvage title must have gotten lost and replaced with a clear one transferring between states.
DONT BE FOOLED!
We saw four internet ads for cars we liked all from this dealer, so we called, they said they were there, so we drove two hours to get there. When we got there, they told us they only had two of the cars we inquired about. Well they were no where near what they had advertised. I am pretty sure they photo shop all the pictures. NOTHING that we saw on their lot actually matched what they have advertised on cars.com or autotrader. Its a scam to get you to come and look, don't be fooled!
Believe the reviews
This is the worst dealer Ie ever dealt with on every aspect. Most of the sales people are not familiar with cars and don care about helping you, they just want to make a sale. Most of the cars they sell are in need of repairs and badly worn for their age/mileage. You can get a good deal on a car if you know cars, run a car fax, and check out the vehicle thoroughly. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that there is one good sales person there by the name of Mike Dallas. If you still want to deal with these people, you should try to work with Mike.
You can get a good car for a good deal
I think this place is not as bad as the reviews are saying. You can find and purchase a good used vehicle for a very good price, and also purchase a warranty that will cover any catastrophic failures and to give peace of mind. I found a replacement truck for a half of what other dealers were offering at this dealer. They did all the repairs for safety and replaced some suspension parts, changed the oil, replaced a break caliber and put new tires on the truck. It took them 4 days to complete the work. They also detailed the truck so it was clean and shined up when I picked it up. I don't think I could have purchased a similar truck at any "normal" dealer for even twice what I paid. The other reviews on this site are partially correct, it is a circus atmosphere and it is a wild west experience, but if you do your homework, pull a carfax, test drive the car, and request they check and repair any safety issues, you will be fine, especially if you purchase the extended warranty, you still will pay less then at any other dealer. I was impressed with the finance guys, especially Ken, I also worked with Steve who took the time to explain the fine print of service contract. They have several lots with different vehicle types and you will be on your own to find your vehicle, But once you find the vehicle(s) you want to test drive, you can flag down a sales person to unlock the lock box to get you the key and put on the dealer plates. Most of the vehicles look like they have come off of auction without any reconditioning, some with garbage still in the cars. they leave the cars unlocked so you can sit in them. Some cars seem to have water damage or leaked water as they sit outside and people could leave the windows open. Once you decide on the vehicle, you are told to go back to the main office 2 miles down the street. The main office is a circus, they sell a lot of cars and the place is packed with desperate buyers. The sales and finance people are very experienced, they are busy so they may seem abrupt because they have lines of people waiting. If you don't mind doing some of the legwork yourself and don't mind a little adventure, then you can find a vehicle at a very good price. If you are expecting white glove service, then go to a normal dealer and pay double.
Same as the other poor reviews
Foolishly, we wanted to give these guys a shot, as they have the car we want for a good price, so we ignored all the reviews. We called multiple times today to ensure the vehicle was still there and they guaranteed it would be. Lo and behold, my husband arrives and, after searching through 4 separate lots, no car. Do not trust...don't even bother.
Good prices advertised, large selection, but...
Waiting line outside the door to see rep we had a reservation with. 20 minutes later she directed us to a huge parking area about a mile from the store(front) to look for the car ourselves. Had a tough time finding the vehicle (about 500 cars in the lot because the internet price was not the price painted on the windshield - but we finally put 2 and 2 together. About 20 minutes later she finally showed up, only to tell us that the car was already sold - but feel free to look around the lot and let her know if there was anything else we were interested in. Finally did find another vehicle, we called to get her back for a test drive (she had left to go back to the office). She said she would be right back - we just left after waiting another 15 minutes with no sign of her...
POOR customer service
Rude and arrogant on the phone sales people did not have time to talk worst customer service experience I ever had
Buyers be warned!
All of the bad things other comments indicate are likely true -- this is a horrible place for even a sophisticated buyer to shop for a used car. Some of the cars appear to be OK, but many are really bad and some probably should not be sold except for junk. The place is something of a "wild west" atmosphere with multiple lots, a lot of cosmetic cover-ups and in general a good place to find a bad car and get taken. Best advice: Stay away.
Their Cars are sold without Emissions
Worst experience ever especially since I'm in the business. After getting more inside info on this place I don't understand how they stay running! More than half of their cars on the lot DO NOT HAVE EMISSIONS!!! They reset your lights on the dash so they can sell you. My check engine light was on 4 dys after I bouth the car. They did nothing to fix the solution even after I gave them the codes for the O2 sensor that needed to be replaced. They were rude and disrespectful to me when I asked when my car would be ready after they had for 2dys when upon return was not fixed. They didnt do any oil change or replace the air filter which is the very first thing every dealer does. They do not put any cars through safety inspection either! BEWARE OPF THIS PLACE! Carfax all vehicles before you buy 80% are crashed and water damaged and they know it!
I purchased a car from here and then two days after there inspection: I brought it to a profesional dealership to have it looked at again. It had failed 4 things. Since then I had to bring my car back here over three times to be fixed. Everytime " they fix it" I bring it back to a professional dealership to be looked at. Everytime the proffesional dealership looks at it they tell me that the problem still is not fixed. The last time I went to pick up my car from there at the shop, I didnt even drive it home. I drove it around there parking lot and you could stillo hear and feel the car making noise. They wanted me to take the car home but I refused and told them it was staying there until it was fixed. Im sure it still wont be fixed right. It was the worst service that I have ever seen. On top of them taking some extra cash from me that did not belong to them, they also provide you with the worst service for any depatment! DO NOT GO THERE!
Last Place I'd EVER buy a car!!
The only good thing i can say is the salesman we had was very nice. After calling and finding 2 cars I liked,(one $8000, one $10000)and being told they'd be ready for a drive I drove 2 hrs to find only 1 of the cars on the lot and it wasnt even close to ready. The 2nd car took us an hour of driving around to some guy out in the woods w/ a garage behind his house who was fixing the bumper....but only the rear one and not the front one. I was told that he was probably told to only fix one! This one was missing the cargo carpet and the $10k one was missing all the rear headrests. I was told they should probably find some stuff somewhere to fix that. I didnt even get out of the driveway w/ either and heard a terrible clunking and vibration in the front end. What a joke. I dont care if these are just off auction or not.....I dont expect a 49k mile, $10k car to sound like that!! I would rather pay a few hundred dollars more and get a good deal than go to this joke of a place that just wants to push out a bunch of cars a month. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
A better way but not for the buyer
Saw a car that looked good , called drove to see it : car didn't match photo's but then the fee's almost $1000.00 in fee's (paperwork) so ask and save your self a wasted trip . sub par auto's super overpriced fee's , poor customer service . so A better way for who?? not some one buying a car?
Don't waste your time.
Horrible experience. I think you have already known about this dealer. Also check their feedback at Google. Only person who give them 5 stars is themselves. They deserve 0 star. Cars.com should ban them asap!
This place is an absolute circus. It's like walking into a time warp! Complete chaos and no one is organized enough to even ask if u need help. I got sent on my own to find the truck I was looking for, on a wild goose chase in a lot of 300 cars. Unbelievable they stay in business. Just call and ask for information over the phone, you'll get the idea. Huge waste of time to look here!
Not a better way
I was informed that certain maintenance would be performed on the vehicle I bought, and not only was the work not done but lots more mechanical problem needed to be fixed. They reset dash lights to put through emissions and make it just safe enough to drive home, either look into buying a warranty or doing some work on the vehicle yourself.
weist my time...
real bad expirience waist 3 hours of my time filling papers then finaly when every was all right they show me the car all full of scraches rastic rims and not even can drive to chek what i buyin and they want to me to buyed? come oonnn...no even try again in that place in my all life .
Price or service
Good selection to choose from once you find the place. Terrible customer service. Impossible to get anywhere on the phone. After choosing a vehicle it took 2 weeks and many many calls before car was somewhat ready. Waited 1 hour for sales guy to show up and that was with 2 calls stating the time we were arriving. Car was filthy inside and out. Seats were soaking wet. If you can put up with the agravation the selection and pricing is good.
This place is horrible, never seen a dealer like this in my life, and I have bought several cars. The office is dirty and everywhere people eating and chewing. Sales people are not professional and the hundreds car they have are in horrible condition. Cars come directly from the auction: no mechanic check or cleaning. Do not recommend this place to anybody unless you want to try a particular experience. Good luck!!!!
How car shopping should be
I got to look around their lot of over 500 cars for the one I LIKED. No one was there to push me into a buy. I got help when I needed it. Found a car I liked. Went for a test drive! Made note of the little things wrong with the car, which they will fix before pickup! Fantastic! Completed the paperwork. And will be picking up the car in a few days. Have nothing negative to say.
Frame damage, flood, salvage, accident damage junk
I found a car for sale online from this dealership which looked 'great' in the pictures and was offered at a good price. I drove over an hour to see it, only to find it was covered in dents, scratches and body damaged in a addition to having some serious mechanical problems. The sales people are very unfriendly and acted offended when I said I was not interested in the car given the [terrible] condition. I would never go back. If you're looking at a car from this dealership and the price is 'right', believe the reviews - something IS wrong with it.
While I haven't bought a car here, there is a lack of truth in the Better Way web site. The picture shown lets you think the place is big with lots of cars. The truth is the place use to be a car wash, that's it. Not a big lot, just a small lot. The cars are spread out over a few lots, not connected. The lack of truth on the web site makes me wonder what else they are misleading about.
I drove over an hour to look at multiple cars from this dealership that I found online only to find out that EVERY one of them were flood cars. When the salesman asked what I thought I asked if he had anything that wasn't completely submerged by water. He responded with laughter and showed me another flood car. HUGE WASTE OF TIME!!!!
I was looking for a pickup truck and saw one online that "looked" good so I called the place and they said its been through the shop and is ready to go. I drove 4 HOURS to the place to find out it had crispy cab corners, fist size rust holes in the bedside and it had a tranny leak along with break problems and a check engine light on. They said if I put a deposit down they would "fix" everything but I wanted to haggle on the price if I was going to buy it and they wouldnt even do that. So I basically wasted 8 hours in driving time and around an hour or more screwing around with these people. STAY AWAY! You can easily find a better used dealership to buy from
Gives "Used Car Salesman" a bad name
Don't trust this place. I went there to check out a car they "just got" so I could not check the VIN and Carfax first. When I got there it seemed like the car had accident damage. They said it did not. I was being rushed into making a decision, but I pretended to get a phone call from my boss. I went back to my car and got the carfax report from the VIN that I finally saw. (I got 5 carfax reports deal for $45) Sure enough, the car was in an accident. I would not trust this place at all. AND if you notice,, there are a lot of bad reviews, and a few great reviews. There is NOTHING in between. This leads me to believe that the great reviews were written by the dealer. Don't trust these guys!
Read the reviews!! Avoid this place!
This was THE WORST experience I've had buying a vehicle. Terrible customer service, rude from top to bottom. Made you feel like you were a pain in the butt every time you talked to them. Communication was always a struggle. No returned phone calls or emails from the salesperson. I bought a truck that was exactly the truck I was looking for. But, I learned the hard way to read the reviews and trust the experiences of others. Save yourself ALOT of grief and buy from someone who will appreciate your business, treat you with respect, and work hard to make you happy. This place is not it!
car was terrible and they ripped me off
I bought my car 2 months ago and I have been back 3 times to fix numerous problems. I have been without my car for 23 of the 61 days I have owned it!
1 good vehicle, 1 disaster vehicle
The salesperson we dealt with both vehicles was very pushy and after the test drive did not give us (husband and I) time to think about the vehicle. She assumed we wanted it. Everything was very rushed. Our first vehicle we bought from there, a GMC truck, has proved a good purchase. Our second vehicle, Subaru Outback, has been the worst investment ever. The turbo blew on the way home (about 1.5 hours away). We took it back, picked it up a week later with a new turbo, which blew again about 15 miles into our trip back home. The turbo got replaced again, but the date for us getting the car back got pushed back more and more. We had "owned" the car almost a month and only driven it twice. Now, 4 months later, we are having to put $3,500 into it. Unfortunately the Lemon Law doesn't apply. It also took a very long time (almost 3 hours) with the purchase of the Subaru to go through and we already had a check ready to go from our bank. NEVER GO TO A BETTER WAY.
