First the tire won't hold air and this is just 1 week after purchasing the car. Needs a new tire but they don't want to pay despite the fact a salesman had been driving the car and had that tire replaced before selling to us and we had taken coverage out for tires and clear coat protection. Don't bother with the clear coat protection. Ours started to peel and no one wanted to fix the problem. Finally went to a different dealer. Much happier there! Cochran won't see us again.

Although I am a longtime VW owner, this is the first time I have visited #1 Cochran Volkswagen of the South Hills. My objective was to purchase a new Jetta, and I was focused on a particular car. It did not take long to agree on a price, and start the process moving. While the paperwork was being prepared, the Sales Consultant, Rob G., took great pains to explain the vehicle to me and answer any of my questions, especially those involving the dashboard display. Likewise, the Office Manager, David A.. was very thorough in explaining the finances, warranties, and maintenance schedules. The facilities are very clean and comfortable, and provided a nice place to wait while the buying process unfurled. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.

I was very pleased with my leasing experience at Cochran on West Liberty Avenue. Nathan Solt made himself available to me for all questions and was very patient in explaining the features of my leased Jetta. Nathan even noticed that I had left my EZ pass transponder in my trade in car and removed it for me to pick up. The man who did all of the paperwork was also very patient and explained everything to me. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name, although he gave me his card and I have since lost it. All of the staff at Cochran on West Liberty Avenue exceeded my expectations.

I have been dealing with Cochran for over 6 years now across three leases and they just keep getting better and better! They are knowledgable, friendly, helpful and most importantly honest. I started my latest lease today (2016 Jetta Sport Turbo) and I have to say Shane at the South Hills VW location went above and beyond in every way. He answered all of my questions, ensured I was happy every step of the way and took the time to track down and pick up the exact color and model I was looking for. Having worked as a retail manager for the last decade across several cities on the east coast I know what customer service should look like and it is always wonderful and amazingly rare to have my expectations exceeded. For any VW needs in the Pittsburgh area I would definitely recommend the entire team at Cochran VW South Hills. Shane - 6/5 stars for sales and Steve - 5/5 stars for service over the last six years

Mark in the Service Dept. was very accommodating to my schedule. My VW Jetta Sportwagen is only 3.5 years old but with 110,000 miles. Needed rear brake pads, discs, e-brake cables for the first time since buying the vehicle new. Mark also worked with me to decide which regular maintenance items I actually needed, besides the brakes, since some maintenance items go by mileage and some go by elapsed time. He figured out how to use my coupons to my best advantage. I have done many of my own car repairs for 40 years, and he answered my questions about which ones are still able to be done without VW specialty tools, etc. (Brakes is not one of them, since there is a special electronic spring gizmo inside the calipers, so you can't just push the pistons back in with a c-clamp....) There is also now a slick email based system for the technician to communicate directly with the customer. So I got emails on my phone telling me where he (Al) was in the diagnosis process, what the findings were, cost estimates, etc. There was a place for me to ask questions back to the technician and accept or decline recommendations. So that was convenient for me, although others may still prefer to just get info through the service rep. Overall, my experience was outstanding. I also want to say that, as a woman, I am often treated like a dummy at car dealers, and this was not true here. I felt no prejudice at all.

A bug was my daughters dream. We went to Cochran. Salesman decribed what makes a VW a value and how their dealership works. They treated us fairly and with respect . They enjoyed her excitement and had a great rapport. I have bought cars for 30 years.and dreaded it most times. This was fun! Robert Goldstein represented the best attributes of a good salesman and David Auman and the other Dave were also great in finance department.

I bought my used car at Cochran VW South Hills a couple of years ago. The buying process was easy. They really went the distance with me in coming to an agreement on the price. The car also came with the remainder of the original warranty plus another two years. So I got 2 1/2 years of warranty. I have had only two problems with the car that required repair. These repairs were done in an extremely timely manner and there has been no recurrance of these problems. And I didn't have to pay a cent! Since then, I take my car to them for all normal maintenance: oil changes etc. I find that their prices are not that far out of range compared to other auto maintenance and repair centers. And since thay are the dealership, I'm confident that I am getting the best care for my EOS. Also, I have to wait while this work is going on. They know this and always make an effort to get me out of there in a timely manner. I agree with the previous review in that Steve Storino is especially to be praised. I plan on getting my next car, and probably all my cars from Cochran VW South Hills from now on.

We just bought a new Golf R and love the car. We did this through the preorder lottery and had never worked with Cochran or our salesperson before. The preorder process which was set up by VW was a bit clunky but the staff at Cochran smoothed everything out. Brandee (spelling is correct) was our salesperson and she was possibly more excited than we were with purchase. She was attentive to our needs without being intrusive. The whole staff worked hard to make the purchase negotiations fair and fast. They were well organized for the day of the sale and were able to move us through the process quickly. We transferred the plate to the new car and they even renewed the registraion for us because they noticed it was close to expiring. There was a practical but not overwhelming orientation to the new car that made us comfortable with the trickier parts of operations (synching bluetooth and that sort of stuff). My wife is looking for a new car and has narrowed it down to three different brands that Cochran carries. Brandee is already working on gathering them all in one spot so my wife can take a comparision test drives (with her golf clubs) without traveling all over the Pittsburgh area! I expect that kind of service when buying an Audi or Lexus but for VWs and Subarus it is really appreciated. Their facility is compact and modern with comfortable seating and complimentary beverages. The only drawback is they don't have enough room to keep a lot of cars under cover so visit on a nice day. The team there certainly compensates for that minor issue.

This review is a few months behind for service that I received back at the end of October 2014.I have a 2003 Eurovan and had a problem with my passenger lock door assembly. Initially Steve Bullister informed me that the whole assembly would need to be replaced and that the parts couldn't be obtained for a few days. I had planned an anniversary camping trip for that weekend and was pretty disappointed that the camper wouldn't be ready. However, Steve called back the following day and said that the technician (M G Harvey?) had worked overtime to re-wire this manually instead of ordering the parts. Not only did they save me money but we did get to go on our camping trip that weekend to Ohiopyle.thanks a lot...especial to technician....great service...I will be back. Bill W.

Many people associate dealer service with high costs. In my case, I brought the car in for a door opening problem that I thought may be covered under my extended warranty. The service team investigated the problem and fixed, no charge! To me, this affirms the integrity and fairness of the shop.

In June of 2014 I went to the South Hills VW location to purchase what I thought was a 2013 VW Passat which was a "certified Pre-owned" vehicle with NO accidents. The dealership even printed a "carfax" indicating such. They assured me that the car was like new. I proceeded to buy the car. Just recently I discovered a repair bill that was tucked away in the owners manual in the glove box where there was $2500 worth of damage done to the car (including frame). I contacted the dealership in good faith indicating the discovery of the undisclosed repairs. Their response was "you are such a good customer of ours and we value your opinion highly"...........Apparently not. The dealership is refusing to do anything but a "courtesy inspection". BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

My husband has been looking for a car since October. He is very thorough and likes to take his time and see what deals are out there. We have a VW dealer near us but, we stopped by your dealership and Nate was very nice and knowledgeable. I knew my husband wasn't ready to make a commitment since he just started looking but, Nate would call us and leave a message about specials and didn't forget about us like other dealers. Because of the great sales person that Nate was is why we came back to #1Cochran to buy our Passant. We love the car. Lots of leg room in the front and back, a nice size trunk and back seats that fold down, and it has lots of features that we were looking for and more and the price can't be beat. We are thrilled to start our New Year with a new car from #1 Cochran!

I was in the market for a VW Tiguan Lease for my daughter.. When I entered the showroom, a young salesman (whom I won't name because I don't want him to be reprimanded), asked me if I was aware of Cochran's fair market pricing and how it worked. I was lectured how Cochran is the low price leader and would beat any dealer.. I was quoted a price of $329 a month for a 36 month lease with $ 2,000 +++ down. When I mentioned that I had already been offered the EXACT SAME VEHICLE for $304 a month, with $ 400 less of a down payment, the salesman went on the defensive. He demanded to know the dealer and said that they were probably not including sales tax, and seemed incredulous that anyone could or would beat their price. Actually, the other dealer had included sales tax, and the quote was accurate. The salesman then started to berate the other dealer's service department and how they send their vehicles to Cochran because they cant' repair them on their own WHAT A CROCK!!! So much for # 1 Cochran. MY DAUGHTER IS NOW ENJOYING HER NEW TIGUAN, at considerably less cost than the self proclaimed, # 1 Leader. Let the Buyer beware!!!

8157My vehicle was dropped off after hours on a Friday evening, I understood that no one would work on it until Monday. Very fair, did not even expect any different. I call Saturday to make sure the vehicle and keys were there and everything was set, left a message on the voicemail and received a call back and a reasonable time. I was told car and keys were safe and the car would be checked out Monday. Not until Monday afternoon (2pm) that I called them to leave a voicemail and recieve a call back around 3pm. Apparently their address on gps has the same address listed for two different locations, so my car was in the wrong lot. I was told I would have to pay to get it moved to the correct lot. Whole day wasted. I should have known this on Saturday when I was told the care was received with keys. To speed up the review, I did not receive any initial calls to update me on what was going on, only after calling and leaving messages did I get an update. My rating for customer service is a little misleading. The people are not bad, never was anyone rude or disrespectful. I just work in an industry as an Accountant, and I know communication is my key to keeping all my customers happy. There is a severe lack of communication going on there. I even had to request a loaner car after 10 days of having my vehicle when the estimate was 5 days. Even then I was told I would get a call back with confirmation that the loaner car was approved, I still had to call them to even find that out, in which I had to leave another message and wait 30 mins for a call back. Overall my car has been serviced and is fixed. The services that were rendered, from my understanding are not everyday services that they deal with. So I understand the time estimate being off, but lack of communication is still unacceptable.

As new US residents without an established credit history the process of buying a car and obtaining finance is complicated (if not downright scary)! Cochran's made it easy for us. Their staff were polite, very patient and understanding of our circumstances. The Foriegn Buyers Plan is a real winner and enabled us to lease rather than buy a vehicle. To the best of our knowledge no other local dealers offer this service (or if they do they are unable to explain it as well as the Cochran's team). All the paperwork was in plain English and effectively explained to us. By the end of the process we really trusted that the team had our best interests at heart. Also, Cochran's went out of their way to find the exact model and colour Passat that we wanted. The only improvement might be that during the search for the vehicle (over two weeks), the team could have updated us on progress a litte more regularly. Otherwise it was an excellent experience.

I'm not sure that I can properly express how awesome my experience with Peggy, Paul and Mike was at Volkswagen of South Hills. After a week of terrible experiences at multiple other dealerships, I was so pleased (surprised even?) to be greeted by a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff. From the moment I walked in the door, Peggy was a dream to work with. She was straightforward, kind and had her facts straight. She asked about all of my wants and needs, and found me a used 2011 Jetta that far exceeded my expectations of what I thought I could afford. She is so genuine and beyond helpful.I spent 5 hours at VW of South Hills and did not feel like 1 minute of my time was wasted. The buying process was seamless, and I felt completely confident and comfortable in the purchase that I was making. The manager, Paul, listened to all of my concerns about financing and helped me make the right choice for my less than ideal credit situation. He was understanding and never made me feel bad that I wasn't in a better position financially. When it came to making the big move and signing papers, Mike thoroughly explained everything and answered all of my questions. Again, I felt completely at ease making the biggest solo purchase of my life.I did not once feel like Peggy or Paul were just trying to make a sale, nor did they scoff at my moderate budget. I genuinely felt like they were interested in helping me make the right purchase for my needs. To say that the staff at VW of South Hills went above and beyond would be an understatement. I am truly grateful for this positive experience and look forward to working with Peggy again in the future.

Brandee made this car buying experience the best ever! She is friendly, accessible, informative, upbeat and very professional. She explained every step of the way, was a wonderful and prompt communicator, and answered all of my questions in a clear, easily understandable way. In fact, Brandee is excellent at making a customer feel comfortable enough to ask whatever question she needs to ask about buying a car. She is one of the top salespersons I've ever met in any of my shopping experiences! I told her I will recommend her to anyone who tells me they are looking to buy a new car, because I know they will be in top-notch hands. I Utilized the repair facility at #1 Cochran Volkswagen of South Hills with total success. Not only was the work done as expected, on time and with excellence, they washed the car and let it dry in a heated environment. With the winter raging in western PA, and temps in the single digits, having the car dry before putting it outside is critical. They did a good job for the work expected and having a properly cleaned car was more than I asked and very welcome!

I was very concerned that my 2010 VW Jetta Sportswagon was going to stop when my engine light came on and I was warned on the screen that my battery was low!! I took it in on Friday and the staff promptly determined what my problem was. I don't drive it enough!!??? It is a diesel and apparently I have to really get out on the highway and drive fast to burn out the carbon. That good old diesel.......good mileage and an excellent quality car. I thought it was a bad battery or an alternator. Anyway, my Husband's car, which is the same model as mine but a year younger, needed to be inspected, so we both made appointments at the same time with Cochran. In an hour or so, they were back to us telling us with the good news that his had passed inspection with flying colors and mine just needed a new flap that was sticking. That would take care of my electrical messages. I appreciate the good quality people who work for the agency and the promptness of the mechanics in getting the work done. It is all done with the comfort of the customer in mind. We really appreciate the quality care that we receive when we drive to Cochran, because, we live in the Fox Chapel area and have to drive across town for our service.

The best way to describe my experience here was an easy, stress free one. I had no doubt that the price on the vehicle I was purchasing was upfront and honest due to the research done by the Cochran team. (I did my own research prior to stepping into the dealership and it was exactly what they had, so their numbers were right on!) I told them what I was looking for and my budget and they seamlessly matched the right vehicle at the right price. The staff was great. Marty was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and even was there when I stopped the next day with a few more questions! In addition, the customer service rep at the front even provided me with some brochures and info. The finance manager made the paperwork portion easy. The Manager, Paul Kaseman, was genuinely concerned about my satisfaction with the VW I chose. I LOVE my new car and the team at #1 Cochran was exceptional.

This is the 3rd car I purshased in 2 years and the sales staff again went above and beyond for me. The dead that Paul Kaseman gave me bead 2 other dealerships in the ared woth out any negoations. My salesperson, Breandee Stratigos, for the 2nd time spent 2-1/2 hours hand typing in all of my GPS contacts for me. The only draw back to them is the fact that they do not offer loaner cars for service work. This also has been fixed as I found out the day I got me car. As the fact that Brandee explained that they do now have loaner cars. This was proven to me because they gave me the loaner for the day so I didn't loose the day of work while they transfered my GPS contacts. I will highlt recomend this dealership to all of my family, friends, and co-workers in the future. Thank you again for a plesent experience.

I had an older Volkswagen and it was time for an upgrade to something new. I chose VW again and had my eyes set on a specific black on black GLI Autobahn for my first car that was all mine. Brandee Stratigos and the rest of the Cochran staff members were extremely helpful and friendly as soon as I stepped into the dealership. Brandee worked with me on pricing and options to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted while still staying within my budget constraints. She knew all of the vehicles inside and out and was extremely knowledgeable. Every random question I had for her, an educated, informative response followed. She was never pushy or tried too hard to sell the vehicle. She presented the facts of the car in a way that made them seem so appealing you didn't want to turn it down. They did not have the exact car I wanted on site but they found it at a dealership in Ohio and quickly made a trade for my car and brought it in. Brandee was also always available after I left the dealership by phone or email which was nice and convenient for all the questions I had. The whole process was fast and fairly simple. I got a great deal and an awesome car! We shopped around but Cochran South Hills was definitely the best price and friendliest/most knowledgeable employees.

From the time we arrived Jaelyn made our experience a very pleasant one. We were able to test drive and re-test drive as needed so we could make a decision we were comfortable with. She responded to calls and e-mails promptly and,most impressive, she was able to get us the car we wanted for the price we could manage! The final business/paperwork was done quickly and easily. Randy was efficient and explained everything as we signed away. Bought a new 2013 with paint damage. Sales person was excellent and said paint would be fixed. Kept car for 3 days and touch up paint was applied and new scatches appeared in clear coat and white residue left on bumper. Car returned for 2nd time and kept 4 days. Paint repaired, however white residue not removed. Spent 1.5 hours at dealership waiting for car to be cleaned and was told it had to go to body shop because of paint overspray. Dealer did not resolve these issues first 2 times they had the car, and I have to be inconvenienced to go and pick the car up at the dealership. Furthermore, their loaner cars are filthy. Inside windshield so dirty you can't see when the sun shines and cigarette ashes all over inside of the vehicle.Manager Paul doesn't take complaints seriously and said he's doing nothing further for me.Filed complaint with corporate. Will let everyone I know not to deal with this particular dealership. Price may have been good, but don't value customers and do not recommend to anyone.

In short, a very pleasant and satisfying experience at #1 Cochran Volkswagen.The car itself feels like a nicer car than I thought I could afford, which, besides quality feel of the cabin, really became apparent when we went on our test drive. First I got a tour from Marty of the tricked-out TDI with everything, and an informative but not overwhelming overview of all the features that could benefit me (really liked the iPod integration). Things that were awesome but evident, like the feel of the seats, weren't pointed out before I noticed them myself, THEN Marty made it better by pointing out the adjustable lumbar support. My girlfriend was with me, so when we got in for the test drive, Marty politely absconded to the back seat, which also gave me a visual sense about how well someone would fit back there (of course I sat back there myself after the test drive, I thought it awesome that the rear of the front seat was scooped out, I actually had more space for my knees than I did in my old Taurus). We then went out on our test drive, and when I asked if we could hit the highway so I could get a sense of the car at speed, we went on a fairly long drive circuit that ended up covering every drive scenario except wet road.I appreciated the no-rush time spent to test merging, highway speed, observing a motorcyclist pop a wheelie in a business blazer and tie (good cabin visibility, lol), driving on regular roads, on a couple of curvy roads, a hard braking test (I told Marty I was going to do it first, he told me about the 4 disk breaks), and up the really steep sudden incline when you cross Banksville to go up Potomac (my reaction was "this is ridiculously stee-Oh, ok, wow this car is really willing!"). Really educational test-drive route that still neatly got us back near the dealership, in fact I used the same route to test a competitor's car (which was ok, but the combo of the more economy cabin and the salesman that almost seemed asleep in the back seat threw me off, some reason it really bothered me that he offered no reasons how the car could benefit me and then gave me a price only $500 shy of the superior Golf). Back with #1 Cochran, they welcomed me testing the regular gas engine version I wanted on the same route, felt like a relief to be back at this dealership.The sales process went fine, there was a very good price offered up front without going back and forth with a manager (though he was there too, I interacted with Marty and Josh at the same time). It was very clear that I was getting THE price up-front, including tax, document, and registration fees, and it was transparently shown on the invoice. They also helped me collect what I needed, such as places for personal driver's insurance. The only parts I didn't much care for were minor; the particular car I wanted was "configured with" the upgraded rubber mats, trunk organizer blocks, and first aid kit and couldn't be removed because they were on the invoice (ended up having use for these anyway), and the almost typical line that the deal (financing rate, specifically) "might" (above average honesty there) not be available tomorrow (it was the last of the month, so it could have been true, the pressuring bothered me a little BUT I did feel like I was being offered a good financing deal). I was ready to buy, but I had a personal problem with my trade-in, insurance, and my mother; despite the fact that it was late and I had kept them after close, Marty and Josh were very professional and aligned with me, which made the situation a lot less embarrassing than it could've been. I greatly appreciated their poise.When I fixed MY issues and returned a few days later, they had the car in the color and sunroof package I wanted by dealership trade, the financing had changed but the offer was still very good, and the rest of the steps went smoothly. I met with the lady of financing this time (sorry, I think it might've been Brandee?), she was also of high caliber and accepted when I wasn't interested in extra warranty (though she still expressed why parts of the warranty would be a good benefit, so I know what I chose to skip out on).A month and three weeks later, I scheduled my courtesy "90 day" inspection. I'm not exactly sure what all they checked, but they addressed my questions about unlocking doors and iPod integration, and I noticed my windshield wiper fluid was topped off (I might be crazy, but it has a slight soap fragrance that smells good. My friend couldn't smell it, he says I'm crazy). I also didnt have to pay anything on this scheduled maintenance, which was as promised but still nice. So yeah, service was prompt, courteous, and gave me confidence about the dealership for future assistance.Overall, I'd recommend this dealer to my friends and family (my girlfriend, who also just bought a car though somewhere else, is jealous).

I was very upset to trade it in, but after speaking to Marty Mariani, I felt confident that I would have a new car that I love just as much. My experience was absolutely amazing! I came in to purchase my first new car. As a new buyer, I had so many questions and concerns. My dealer, Brandee, made my experience perfect! She made sure to completely put me at ease during the whole process. Brandee even gave me her personal cell phone number in case I had any questions when I was not able to reach her at the dealership. A different salesman at a neighboring dealership told me that the amenities that I wanted were available, but 2 packages above the base. I told Brandee what the other dealer had led me to believe, and she informed me that was incorrect. She even apologized that I was misled! Brandee worked tirelessly to find me every feature that I wanted in my new car right down to the color. She just kept telling me that she wanted my new car to be absolutely perfect for me - and it certainly is! I never once felt the traditional and stereotypical pressure to buy now, but then again, you do not need to apply that pressure when you are confident in your products and yourself. I am unhappy that the car was not properly prepared for sale and delivery to me, especially seeing as the sales staff knew that I was going to immediately drive it 1400 miles to Denver. My rating on great customer service is based on my appreciation for Scott picking me up at the airport on Saturday morning; however, the company had plenty of time to inspect and prepare the car before I arrived.These are things that should have been taken care of, or at least pointed out to me:--The tires were not properly inflated, even when I pointed out to Scott on our walk around that the spare was very low, and he said that he would take care of getting all the tires checked. When I later checked the tires, cold, (each of which should have been inflated to 32 psi), one was 39, one was 29, and two were 35. That was using two different tire gauges.--The transmission was and is overfilled with fluid. --The engine was a quart low on oil when I arrived in Denver. If this car is in as good condition as advertised, it would not use a quart of oil in 1400 miles. Or somebody didn't put the correct amount of oil in the engine.--Five of the twenty wheel lug nuts on the alloy wheels were incorrect. When I mentioned that to Scott on the walk around, he made up an explanation that the caps had come off those five because of their age, an impossibility seeing as the correct ones are one piece castings. They simply were the wrong parts, Scott gave me a bogus story, and I have to replace those lug nuts.--On the drive back to Denver, the temporary license tag came loose. The left screw had come out and was gone. Scott told me that he had mounted the tag and the screws were tight when he mounted it. Nevertheless, it was gone. Had I not noticed that the tag was flapping and hanging down by the right hand screw, I likely would have lost the tag. When I tried to put a replacement screw in the left hand hole, I saw that the screw hole was completely stripped. Even the screw from the right hand hole just slid in and out of the left hand hole. I have had to have a body shop do a repair of the left hand hole so that I can mount the license plate.--The batter is dead. It is six years old. It should have been replaced, or at least somebody at the company should have warned me. I have to buy a new battery.--Although the Carfax report and the representations of the sales staff said that this car was never in an accident, it is clear that the rear bumper was replaced, because it was painted improperly and cheaply. When I pointed that out to Paul, he simply shrugged.--This is probably the most important matter. The exhaust system has numerous leaks and is dangerous, yet the company gave me the car to drive 1400 miles. Any competent mechanic inspecting this car and preparing it for sale would have heard the sounds from the various leaks in the system. I have a hearing impairment, and I heard the sounds of the exhaust leaks. I am having to pay $600 to repair the exhaust system to make it safe.These are the reasons for my ratings.

I've taken my Jetta to Cochran VW a few times for minor things (auxilliary plug not working, etc). I'd been hearing this squeaky noise on the left side of the car when going over bumps and I decided to have them check it out. They replaced a part and on the way home it was still squeaking! I was very annoyed because it had cost about $200 for them to diagnose the problem and replace the part. I called Frank, who was apologetic, and then we set up another appointment. After waiting a few hours, they finally figured out it was the struts squeaking, but that they were in good shape and didn't need to be replaced, or if I wanted to it would be about $500. I told them I guess I'd just deal with the squeaking noise, but I didn't feel it was fair that I had paid for a part last time that wasn't the answer to the problem! Frank offered to refund me for the part, but not the diagnostic. All in all, I left feeling annoyed, having had them look at it twice only to still have the noise. I felt it was fair that Frank refunded me for the part. However, I think that if they are "diagnosing" a problem, and then they "fix" it, they should drive the car afterward to make sure the noise is gone! Had they done this, I wouldn't have to make a second trip back. Although I was disappointed with their lack of thoroughness in regards to making sure they replaced the correct part, Frank was very helpful and friendly throughout the process.

When entering the showroom for the first time, it did not take long for a representative to get in contact with me. Brandee was very friendly and did her best to give an appropriate amount of time to all the people she was assisting despite the dealership being quite busy. When I wanted to test-drive a vehicle, the vehicle was pulled around within minutes, ready for me to take it out. I had a really excellent experience with Brandee, Randi, and Josh. This was my first time purchasing a vehicle and my second stop of the day! The difference in customer service and my general comfort level was amazingly improved once I arrived at the Volkswagen Dealership. They answered all of my questions, made me feel at home, reminded me that they are just a phone call away (I now have all of their numbers in my phone!), and really reassured me that I was buying into a future relationship vs. buying a car and hitting the road. We related on a number of different levels, talking about family, community, hometown roots, interests, etc... I never felt like they were forcing me to buy. I, myself, manage a high level retail store where we pride ourselves on service, so I will admit, I have a high standard. When we arrived in Pittsburgh after spending several years overseas, we needed a car to drive around but were told by a used car dealer on our first day here that it is impossible for me to buy a car in Pennsylvania without a place to live and a PA drivers license. That meant that we would have to drive around in expensive rental cars for a month or longer. We decided to visit a Mini Cooper dealership and Cochran VW dealership on our second day and I was very impressed with Martys courteous and easygoing sale approach. After making price and performance comparisons, we decided to go with the new 2012 Beetle. Marty and Josh were extremely patient and helpful in trying to find a viable solution to our problem and we were able to return our rental car (with Martys help, of course) and drive around in our new Beetle within the next few days. This was the first Mission Impossible that Cochran accomplished for us.Anybody who drives around Pittsburgh would agree with me about the poor condition of the roads around the city. I had my share of frustration when a big bubble appeared on the sidewall of one of the front tires. I was quite alarmed when I first noticed something must have been seriously wrong with the tire and called the tire manufacturer who instructed me to take the car to its dealers. After spending hours searching and calling several tire dealers and found no one who could take care of the problem for us because they either do not deal with warranty claims or do not carry the particular tire in stock, I decided to take the car to Cochran. At Cochran, I was initially disappointed because EasyCare refused to cover the repair cost even though it was obvious that the tire was damaged under road hazard conditions. Since I did not want to drive around with a tire that could blow up anytime, I decided to have it replaced at my own cost anyway. However, I felt cheated and called EasyCare up to complain about their ridiculous policy which requires that the tire has to be losing air before they can replace it under the policy coverage. I expressed my frustration to Frank who agreed to try to work out the warranty issue. After a little over an hour of waiting in Cochrans comfortable new showroom, the car was fixed at no cost to me. Frank said he spent fifteen minutes on the phone with EasyCare and finally got them to agree that the tire was unsafe and had to be replaced under warranty. Two thumbs up to Frank and Cochran for their accomplishment of a second Mission Impossible. Now I know what will be the first number to call when I have any needs or problems with my car. It is the people at Cochran who are willing to go out of their way for customer that makes them the #1 dealer and I will not hesitate to buy another car from Marty if we need a second family car.

Working with Marty was an excellent experience. On my first visit, he spent all the time with me that I needed to answer all my questions. After that visit, he followed up to see if I had any additional questions. This is the 2nd car I've purchased in a year from #1 Cochran and the sales staff is etremely friendly and helpful. Since I am a sales and applications person, my car and my GPS is my life. I inquired about getting the contact information out of the navigation system. The staff said that they can not transfer the contacts. Overall, I had a very favorable experience at #1 Cochran Volkswagen. The sales person I worked with, Mike Krebs, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He came across as being friendly in a sincere way--something one does not always see with car sales people. Mr. Krebs even stayed after the dealership closed in order to go over all the features in the car with me, even though the transaction had already been completed. This was the first car I ever bought and it was an awesome experience. I had been to a few other dealers and was not impressed. I was expecting Cochran to be the same but I am glad I was wrong. They made buying a very laid back experience. They did not pressure me into buying and everyone I dealt with was extremely genuine. I came to this dealership because I was interested buying a Volkswagen and I have a friend who purchased from Cochran Hyundai and she said they were great. She was right. After driving a couple cars I decided I wanted a Passat. Marty recommended I get it in silver because its a very forgiving color and they had one in storage. Also had my 10,000 mile check up done and my state inspection, both of which Steve had suggested to me. After having issues with the knowledge and friendliness of the staff at the Sendell Motors volkswagon dealer,(it took them a few tries to find and fix an oil leak of which I had to pay for their incorrect part replacements even though they weren't broken and also were still under warranty), I was very surprised to find that all of the employees that I came into contact with at #1 Cochran VW were VERY knowledgable, friendly and not pushy. They got the car in and made the repairs quickly while I waited. The radio was intermittently acting up. Despite being able to recreate the problem for them to see that day, they took me on my word that it was faulty. They replaced the radio under the extended warranty quickly and painlessly. They were friendly and easy to work with. They took good care of the car and didn't mar any interior components as they performed the work. I also got a free extension on my radio's Sirius satellite radio. The Sirius contract on the old radio had expired and not been renewed. When the new radio was installed, I found that the Sirius was connecting again. That was a little added bonus that I didn't expect!

after test driving a golf at three rivers VW and going through the payment and financing options, finding out it was just too high for me I needed to see some cheeper payments (lease) the salesman was not helpful in trying to make anything happen, I gave him a price I needed to be at and he just did not want to work with me. from first contact online til I walked thru the door I was made to feel like I was the most important person in the dealership. It was the most stress free car buying experience I ever had. My credit wasn't perfect but I wasn't judged instead they got me a mangeable rate and a more than fair amount for my trade. This was the first time I walked out of a dealership not feeling like I was screwed over. I will definately be back for all my service needs and recommend to friends.

I visited this dealership on August 8, 2011 to pick up the vehicle that I negotiated for on the phone. Paying cash, I had fully intended to take the papers to my local dmvto obtain registration. I was told that they would not provide that on the day of delivery because they had "procedures" and it was a "corporate" thing. I was told that I would have the title in "a couple" of days. When I called to inquire, the sales manager was not available to me, the finance person and my salesperson were off, and that was that. I was able to get someone in the titling department on the phone who was kind enough to find out what the truth was and even called me back (perhaps she should be a sales manager). The story now is that there was an "error" in my paperwork ($2600+tax+doc fee.....hmmmmmm) and that it was sent back to the finance person to correct. I'm no rocket scientist, but if these calculations are too tough....... So here it is 5 days later and the papers have still not been sent out to me, which means that the couple of days will stretch to a couple of weeks. In my opinion this it totaly unacceptable, and after finally getting the sales manager (He never did return my call, I called back again) on the phone, he became argumentitave and put me on hold and never came back on the phone again. This is not the way to treat a customer. I drove over 2 hours each way and am amazed that in this financial climate, and with so many choices of where to buy, that a customer could be treated so unfairly, and with such an utter disrespect. It shouldn't matter if I spent 2,600. or 26,000. I should be treated with honesty and integrity. I'm very dissapointed!!!!

From the time we walked into the dealership we felt the dealership was trying to meet our needs. Our salesperson Garrett Yutzy went above and beyond our expectations to make our experience at Cochran Volkswagen a pleasant one. There was no pressure or hassling about the cars we were looking at,in fact we went to dealership just to look with no intentions of buying that day but left with a new Golf TDI. I have had the car back for service and I am very pleased with the staff and how they took care of my needs and the needs of my car. Best dealer experience ever! I just moved in to PIttsburgh and they even help me with my driver's license. I really recommend this dealer because they understand how important is for their customers to have all the information necessary to make the right decision. Pittsburgh's most friendly, customer- focused dealership. I came in with an unusual problem -- my tire kept deflating on a new car. I had taken it to NTB three times, and they told me nothing was wrong with the tire or rim, and it just needed to be resealed. Each time they felt they had solved the problem, but it continued to leak. I brought it in to you, and I explained that I had a mystery that I could not explain, and asked you to look into it for me. I believe you did everything possible to fix the problem. You also said that there was nothing wrong, and resealed the tire. It appeared to be fixed when I drove it away (just as it did when I visited NTB). This happened just a few days ago. But I again find that there is a slow leak.I am guessing that there must be a defect in either the tire or the rim that you could not find, and I am going to drop it off again tomorrow. This time I'll ask you to do something more radical, like replacing a tire that does not appear to be damaged. If there is a defect, I am guessing that this tire (or rim) is a defect that was delivered when the car was new, but I cannot prove that I did not do the damage (if there is any).I was surprised to see that you did not charge me for everything you did to fix the tire. More than that, I was pleased that you took extreme measures to test the tire in every possible way, and that you conceded that since you did not find a problem you could not be sure that you fixed it -- and that I should bring it back if there was still a problem.Strange as it seems, I am very pleased with what you tried to do for me despite the fact that you didn't fix the problem. Your shop was very attentive to my strange problem, and I think you did what was possible short of replacing something, which is what I'm going to ask you to do tomorrow.

We had an excellent experience at #1 Cochran Volkswagen of South Hills. Bought a brand new Volkswagen Tiguan SEL and they had exactly the model with all the options and exact color we were looking for. Our salesperson, Brandee was extremely helpful and really went the extra mile by accomodating our 15 month old daughter who went car shopping with us that day. Brandee gave us time to install the car seat before our test drive even though it was a busy Saturday at the dealership. She even accomodated us by letting us drive the car to our home to make sure it fit into our low garage ceiling before we made the purchase even though the measurments showed it would fit. Brandee responded to all of our questions via text message which was also great. The dealership's exceptional service made buying our new car a breeze and of course, we love our new Volkswagen Tiguan!

His response was very quick, and informative.Upon visiting the South Hills dealership on May 26, we were promptly greeted by Brandee, who offered to help us follow through with internet inquiry, and take a Routan for a test drive. Her manner was, at all times, upbeat, courteous, and informative. He answered all of our questions (and, in one case where she did not know the answer, she quickly found someone who could).
