Not a big fan. Too much car for the brakes, which I had a mechanic confirm this. The interior is not the quality I thought Audi was capable of. The seats are a leather set in vinyl. The vinyl cracks. As for any knobs or buttons you touch, the paint wears off.

I've owned this car for about a year and a half now. I've owned over 40 VW's and Audi's and I'm am speechless about this car. Solid, smooth and as fast as the wind. I bought it for myself, but it quickly became my wife's car. Outside of routine oil changes I've replaced the serpentine belt and tensioner, the driver's lower aft control arm and the passengers side front drive axle. I did the work myself and it was fairly cheap. I do love this car.

I've driven this A6 for almost a month. Interior-wise, it is beautiful, comfortable. It had left engine mount broken and center engine mount broken off. One tube wasn't even connected.

u all know it. its a great car. im only 17 years old so i like to blast out music with the bose sound system. its got decent gas mileage, great handling, does not shake on the highway unlike my other car with nearly 220k miles, my dad recently spent 2800 dollars for a checkup, the time belt and brakes keep having issues, but hey i love it. Even a girl at my school who got a hummer h3 for her 16th birthday says she really likes it. she just doesnt know about the nickels and dimes this car will cost u. thank god her mom has a lexus, she wont have to deal with the annoyances of a german car. still, if you dont like unreliable cars, NEVERR buy an audi

I have owned this car for one year now and here is the list of issues that I have encounter so far. Coil packs were replaced due to a recall at 58k, Timing belts was done as a precaution at 60k, oil pan leak at 60k, cam seals were leaking at 62k, secondary water pump died at 63k, serpentine belt seized at 68k, front and rear break and rotor were replaced at 70k. And the upper bolt joint is on my to do list. So if you decide to purchase an Audi make sure that this has been done or you will be on a world of trouble. Don’t get me wrong these are fun cars to drive. It’s just to complicate to work on it, so labor can get really expense. Make sure that you find a good mechanic.

This car has been a great car. All that has been done to this car is the breaks, water pump, oil changes, and timing belt. The interior is still silent despite the dirt roads and snow that this car as to travel everyday. With the right tires this car would climb a tree, in the snow, if you wanted it to and where I live it almost has to on a daily bases.

I just bought an Audi A6 2.7T 2003, and I think I made a mistake. After only having the vehicle for 2wks I need a torque converter, mass air flow, battery, and the tiptronic is failing; $3,275.00 to fix! and they say there may be more to do once the mechanics are in there. Kinda pricey to maintain but going to make it mine and fix it up like it's a classic!

fun to drive, especially in sport mode, had water leakage problem (battery holder overflow into passenger footwell ruining a $1700 transmission control cpu, catalytic converter failure, CV boots needed replacing, easily breakable cupholders; quattro goes through tires, not as reliable as a japanese sedan but way more fun to drive

Well worth the cons.

I recently purchased a 2003 Audi A6 with the 2.7t. I absolutely love the car and recommended buying one if you are in the market. The big con that everyone looks at is reliability and cost of fixing. These are all legitimate concerns and if you cannot afford a brand of this caliber do not force it upon yourself. If you can, go for it. It is smooth (engine and ride), fun to drive, and can easily be made into a sport sedan with a few simple tuning steps. The room inside is fantastic and the way everything is put together simply makes you realize you are driving something that was truly engineered, not just threw together. Overall I am 100% satisfied with the purchase of this car.

Love this luxury car! Then I find out that there are all sorts of water problems associated with these and most other VWs and Audis. Of course this happens after warranty, not that the warranty would cover it any way. What a horrible issue! Thousands of dollars in repairs when all I needed when purchased was to be told about "cleaning drains?" Have now read hundreds of people having same issues. Why won't they admit that German Engineering can have defects, too? I guess that's why the rich get richer. Audi fans (which I was one of) claims they're not even broken in until 100,000 miles! You can't get there! I'm at 76,000 miles and the car is ruined. Don't let your Audi get rained on.

I purchased my 03 A6 3.0 certified pre-owned with just over 36k miles. It has been without question the worst car I've ever owned. 3x stranded roadside and counting. Numerous major repair items not covered by warranty. V-belt failed 15,000 miles before scheduled to be replaced, caused auto tensioner to seize and break ($2,500) not covered by warranty. Motor mounts failed ($600) not covered. Carbon deposits in throttle body cause SEVERE vibration. (proposed repair well over 2) Fake wood dashboard pieces have popped off and will not stay on. I follow maintenance schedule to a T including $80 full synthetic oil changes, engine idles like an old pickup 2,500 miles into a 10k mile oil change.

I purchased this from a dealer. It was a 3 year lease vehicle w/2 year warranty. It is by far the nicest vehicle I have owned & driven among 14 owned and more than I can count driven. It has good acceleration and reasonable handling. Quattro is great in the snow. Interior is first rate. Some items not well thought out, like cup holders. I get just under 20 MPG. Overall it is fun to drive and I look forward to driving it. The reliability is poor. Like some others, I know the dealer's service people on a first- name basis. The dealership has been great, but don't want the inconvenience of visiting. I have had electrical problems; window problems; emission problems and wheel balance issues.

Based on the reputation of how the German cars drive I crossed the line from Japanese and bought this car. It was the worst decision I ever made. At 70K miles everything falls apart. I have a huge oil spot on my garage floor from oil leaking, the airbag light stays on constantly because the device is defective (only $1,400 to replace it), then the transmission celanoid went out and cost me $1,800. DO NOT BUY A USED AUDI. I am sure these are great cars when they roll off the showroom floor because they are covered under warranty. I WOULD NOT BUY AN AUDI UNLESS IT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. These cars are fun to drive, but they are not reliable and cost a fortune to repair.

I had this car for 6 months now. I bought it with 48 K miles now I have 60 K. I love the exterior of the car and the interior. After never having a car with AWD, I do not know how I lived without it. I was scared to buy this car first because of electrical problems but so far so good. No problems with the car so far (knock on wood). It feels solid and handles well. Some little things that bothered me are when the annoying sound and display of low wind washer fluid, it's half of the screen, some paint in the interior of the car chips off, gas mileage isn't that great, doesn't hold value.

Goodbye Audi!

Best day was when I got rid of my 2003 Audi A6 after owning if for 3 months. Second day after I got it I was in the shop for an electrical issue. In three months I had 2 other electrical issues but the real kicker is that fact that after sitting idle for a few hours the car has a "warm up" period before the car will drive. Not to mention I get 12-15 MPG around town.

They weren't kidding when they said, "We have your car," in the ads. I've never seen a car that adapted so perfectly to the driver. Almost eerie... it took off like a shot when wanted, handled twisty mountain roads with ease, moved through snowfall when nothing else did.

My reliability experience with this car was terrible. Nearly 40 days in the shop in the first 12 months I owned it, and practically every problem was related to electrical issues. Audi's willingness to resolve the problem was terrible, and the dealer was of no help. I ultimately was forced to file suit under our state lemon laws. After 9 months of legal process, I prevailed under the state law and was reimbursed accordingly. My new Mercedes 4matic is far more comfortable and more reliable. It drives just as sporty, if not better, and turns heads too.

Wears tires out, perpetually out of balance, interior trim peeling, popping from the suspension, windows malfuntion in cold weather. In other words a piece of junk. Audi America says "Too bad, we'll keep fixing it the under warranty". Tires have been balanced 6 times and replaced by Audi at 7000 mi., Audi says to rotate them every 3000 mi. Both front brake rotors replaced at 1500 mi. No problem for me, just took a loss on the Audi and ordered a 2006 BMW 530xi. No more VAG products for me!

My final 2 test drives in 2002 came down to a choice between the BMW 530i and the Audi A6 2.7T. As most buyers who will read this review are already aware, every option on a new BMW is "a la carte", and the price tag really starts to add up as you add options to support its claim of being a "luxury performance sedan". Because a similarly configured Audi was about $5,000 less and had very comparable performance, I went with the A6. I now rue the day I made that compromise. Although the driving performance has lived up to expectations, the Audi's reliability has NOT. After 6 trips to the shop (including 2 recalls) in only 24 months of my 39 month lease, I wish I had gone with the BMW.

So far so Good!

Recently purchased a 2003, 2.7T A6. The car is so much fun to drive. Very glad that I purchased this car rather than a BMW. I can not wait for snow to drive in with the quattro wheel drive. With the quattro, the fuel economy is slightly less than I am used to as I have been getting about 20mpg wwith mixed use driving.

I've had my A6 for less than a month and keep thinking to myself: "This car is too good to be true". Bought used, this was the dealer's loaner car and was therefore low mileage (less than 11k) and in good shape. I agree with other comments that Audi has done a great job differentiating their autos from everything else on the road: great design, but "under the radar" in terms of flashiness and ostentation.

I have had it back many times for a loud bang when it shifts, passenger headlight fogs up, left headlight yellow reflector fell off. Audi insists it is normal except for the reflector. Passenger front wheel out of line right after service. I am very unhappy with the amount of money spent and the return on investment. It was bought on reputation and the parent company refuses to assist.

The quality of the interior in design and materials in unparalleled in the car business. The power of the 2.7 is so much fun it's scary. I have driven everything out there and nothing compares to Audi for the Money. BMW is the only one close. Lexus is not even in the same ballpark.

I've only had my A6 for 3 months, but so far, so good. It is very comfortable, rides very nice. Sporty, but wish I had gotten the 2.7L Turbo for more HP & torque. The "Sport" transmission & tiptronic help that a bit. Passengers have commented on how roomy the car is, more room inside than you would think. Classy interior, like with the wood-grain and leather. I'm anxious to see how the Quattro handles Nebraska winters. Only glitch has been a small electrical problem with the remote door locks, but easily fixed.

After 10 months and nearly 15,000 miles I am very satisfied with my overall experience with The Audi Quattro A6. There have been a few minor problems which were quickly handled by my dealer (great job - under warranty) but these were quirkly things like a blinker switch, etc. , nothing mechanical. The performance is great, the styling is great - clean lines - and will never go out of style. Real wood trim and a fit and finish that is second to none will keep me happy for a long time.

Local dealer had no idea how to repair problem. Audi corp refused to acknowledge our existence. Finally found BBB Autoline arbitration. Met with arbitor and explained problem. Audi did not bother to show up for meeting, only faxed statement saying do not replace vehicle. I'm 6'5, so the first hoop to jump in any car is height and legroom. I could wear a cowboy hat in my A6. If I put the seat all the way rearward, I can't push the clutch in far enough. There's still room in the back seat, too. It drives like it's on rails, and so fast and quiet you really have to pay attention or it'll get away from you. Oh, yes. A smoooooth ride, a luxury feel, and more performance than I'm qualified to push.

This car is everything you want and more. once you get past the hot design of the exterior, sitting in the front seat is the best. the control panel is a very hot and easy to use design. from the air conditioner to the fold in mirrors this car was made for good times. the drive is great it is very smooth and its a pretty powerful car. the best part is you can have your friends in the car because the back seat and the truck are amazingly huge. im 6-3 couldn't fit in a bmw 3 series or an a4 so i tried the a6 out. i can fit in the front seat and the back without having to move the seat settings. this car is all that and i recommend it to everyone!!!!

This car is fun fast and beautiful. The interior is so nice I feel like I should move into the back seat! Powering through turns with confidence with the quattro AWD is something that the BMW freaks cannot begin to understand (traded a BMW 535IS). Stopping power and cornering traction are incredible. How does BMW gets the hype from the media while ignoring the 2.7T 6 speed. Those in the know will take this car hands down. More room than a 330I or 530I , a world better traction, faster 0-60 time, nicer interior, solid warranty. I have had no problems except for two burned tail bulbs. We like this car: My wife traded her SUV for an Audi A-6 Avant.

Excellent car. Sporty yet luxurious. Plenty of power. Comfortable. Holds the road - very responsive. 18+ gallon gas tank is nice. It is so nice to have luxury that isn't bmw or mercedes - too many of those around. Someday people will appreciate the Audi and then there will be too many of them on the road!

This is my first Audi, prior I had a '98 BMW 528i and traded it in for the A6 2.7T. Hands down the A6 is a more enjoyable car. Steering is a wonderful, and the power is un- matched. As long as the car holds up, I'm sold on Audi. I really liked the BMW, however now I can take this car to the mountains without a worry. Love it.

I came "this close" to buying the 530i, but the lease number was too high...so I went and drove the audi just to make me feel better about paying more for the 530....but once behind the wheel, I fell in love with the car (a quatro 2.7T). It has more and better features, is more comfortable, is definitely faster and more responsive, and is priced LOWER. My lease price was nearly $100 less/month in the audi than in the 530. I also like that the body style is new rather than changing. It probably doesn't have the status of the BMW, but it's close. Go drive one, you'll love it.

The design, quality and feel of this vehicle is excellent. They thought of almost everything. However, the seat is uncomfortable and no matter what I do, I can't seem to adjust it right. I have also noticed that the vehicle skids, lunges forward when accelerating, esp into corners. Not sure why this is.

I hope this gets through to some people, I have owned American cars most of my life and have had no issues up to now. I bought an Audi A6 in 2002 and since that time both the turbo and transmission have gone bad, I had issues with my tachometer staying accurate as well, anyone else have some defects like this?? Just a note to thise considering the 2003 Audi A6T. First , the multi function steering wheel that let you control the audio system is no longer offered on the Turbo A6T anymore. I guess safety is no longer important to Audi when it comes to driver distractions. I had this on the 2000 AT that I replaced and having seen it in all the brochures expected it in the 03 model.Quite disappointing. In addition, if you want a valet key for your luxury A6T you will have to order it for $65 and then take your car back to get it programmed. No longer standard equipment. Nice way to aggravate your loyal customers Audi!

This model of the A6 will be discontinued after 2004 and maybe the 2.7T engine as well. I'm sure the new A6 will be great but the current one is an ageless work of beautiful automotive sculpture. For those who are not aware of the care and attention to detail Audi puts into its materials and craftmanship, you simply will not find better at any price below six figures- see for yourself. . The 2.7T engine is a jewel and provides intoxicating acceleration. I can only imagine what the RS6 with the 450hp biturbo V8 feels like.. Combine this excellent engine (Ward's 10 Best Engines 2000/01) with the Quattro and Sport suspension and you have an unbeatable package

Every day I travel steep, twisty mountain roads. The first time I took the 2.7T (6M) up the mountain, I couldn't believe how it clawed at the hills and turns, wanting more throttle than I had the guts to give. Even in rain and snow, the A6 has never blinked. When it goes, it really goes, however, its seen more than its fare share of time in the shop, 10+ times for major and minor stuff. :(

I finally bought a AUDI 2.7T, it is a great car for the money and otherwise also. Having driven MB E430 prior to this and a BMW and prosche. This car has a very good feel. Almost like 4 door porsche boxter. Very Fast. There is absolutely no turbo lag. But definitely you have better road feel (via the steering) in the 5 series and the porsche, but I think with the 235 45 17 Tires and the sport suspension the road handling is as good and will be great in snow with the Quattro. All in all it is a almost perfect car.

I replaced my 2000 A6T with the same spec'd car. Unfortunately I did not ask about the multi function steering wheel as it shows in all the brochures. Audi does not offer this safety feature anymore. Another surprise buyers will have is the "no valet key supplied" on new 2003 A6 cars. The sales person said they did not offer them but after pressing Audi Corporate myself ,found out I can buy one for $75 extra. I guess these two items are Audi's way of saying " we are popular" now so lets see how we can diminish how our customers feel about us. Nice going Audi, it sure turned me off.

I decided to buy Audi after reading the favorable reviews and some positive feedback from friends. In general, this is a fine car but the lack of attention to detail is a problem. There are a number of distracting noises and rattles from the dash and air conditioning system. While seated, the seat rubs against the middle console causing a very annoying squeeking sound. With these noises ... I am glad the stereo is so good.

I started with 2000 4.2 and upgraded to a 2002 A6 4.2. Silky-smooth V8 engine, plenty of torque... Interior: The leather feels soft and rich, the dash-board looks perfect, the instruments well placed, and the there's plenty of room for 4 adults. Exterior: Understated and elegant, almost a sleeper. Handling is superb, rain or shine. You WILL need winter-tires, but that's standard in this performance class. Excellent brakes, and four-wheel traction will make for fun in city traffic too. If you know cars and can appreciate technology, buy an Audi and blend in -- it's a 50K car that feels like a 50K car should feel.

The 2.7T is a fine automobile. The issue I have is that this specific model does NOT have the multi-function steering wheel. The brochure, web site and quick reference guide that came with the vehicle all depict this capability. The fact is this capability / feature is not available on a 2003 2.7T. My dealer did not inform me of this. Needless to say I am not happy. I have sent a letter to Audi of America expressing my displeasure and they have not responded.

The CVT is nothing like I have ever experienced before. It is seamless and smooth like a true automatic transmission shoul be. Also, watch out because you climb up in speed quicker than you might realize. The detail and quality Audi puts into their cars is one of the reasons I bought an Audi. The A6 is roomy and can still give you that sporty feeling. I love the styling because it doesn't look like other cars. If you've noticed, all the cars now-a-day look the same.

I have only had the car about a week and I can't get enough of it! I have found more excuses to get me out of the house and into the car then I care to admit. The car is whisper quiet and the ride is extremely smooth. When you get behind the wheel and the red lights of the interior are a blazing, you immediately know you are in for something special. The car accelerates effortlessly and the handling is top knotch. Our last vehicle was the Lexus SUV and I expected differences in ride quality...but not to this extreme. I am very pleased with our decision to go with the Audi.

I hadn't considered an Audi, or even a wagon, until this one caught my eye in the showroom. After having test driven three or four other luxury brands, I got into the Audi and was sold without having to start the engine. The design of this car is flawless: refined, plush, intelligent, serene, and practical, and not at all flashy. It's a wolf in sheep's clothing too, especially when I engage the "sport" transmission. It holds the road like nothing I've ever driven.

I have never felt performance quite like this and I have owned many cars. I by a new sports sedan every two to three years because I want the newest technology. For the first time, I will never try another brand. I may buy the newest Audi in three years, but never another. I have tried mercedes (hello?) and BMW (awesome, too). But this car 00 an Audi A6 3.0 feels like it has claws in the road. It's not as fast as my previous car (BMW 525) but it handles much better. . . and it's only slower from 0-60 not 45-75. Then it's a dead heat. I prefer handle anytime!~

If it is driven lightly then it is very well mannered and handles the road beautifully and very smoothly. However, if you begin to push harder the car responds like you wouldn't believe. The steering tightens up, turbos begin to push, and it turns into a low flying jet! This car simply rockets when asked to do so! Perfect balance between luxury and sport. Plus the Quattro is awesome in bad wether.

Driving an A-6 4.2 is a great experience. The car is fast, handles well and is an all-around first class sedan. But for those of us living in the snow belt, the choice of tires can be critical. The 17" Perelli's have been trouble. I have experiences three damaged tires and two bent rims in the last couple of years. The lower profile, 17" 235-45 tires simply do not offer much cushion against road hazards. Even the Audi website (in the fine print) suggests that "sport" tires require a special decision. I'll probably buy another Audi - it's a great car - but my choice of tires will be different.

I got an Audi A6 for a change of pace from a BMW 528. But, I am having a problem that has turned my likes into dislike. For the past 1500 miles, the brakes have been squealing terribly when braking. The dealer did an adjustment on them which Audi recommends for this problem. All they did was scuff up the pads and rotors with sandpaper. 30 miles later, and they were squealing again. Spoke to Audi customer service, and they consider this acceptable due to the nature of semi-metallic brake pads. They said there is nothing else they can do if there is no physical problem. So I get to drive around a $50K car that sounds like a city garbage truck when braking.

This is the second A6 that I have purchased, (the first being a '98 A6 2.8 tiptronic). Being an architect, the design brought me in, and then the quality and attention to detail made me hang around. The difference in the power and thrust in the 2.7t from the previous 2.8 is astounding: even faster than my 2001 TT roadster 225. Having the available 6-speed manual has made my A6 ever so much more fun to drive. As good as the Tiptronic was, it is just no match for a manual.

Overall this is a grate car for its money; I got a very good deal too. Luxury and exclusivity is unsurpassable, performance could be better but I don’t expect much form a 3900lb car. Sport suspension is a just perfect, but steering and brakes are num. Lots of room and comfortable seats. Safety is unbelievable, a domestic car side swiped me, my car had a little dent, but the other car was completely smashed I got a crystal blue metallic, and for my knowledge there are only 3 in existence. Bose system could be better, but this is after a $2,000 after market stereo.

This Audi is far better than the BMW 5 Series. It has a smoother ride, more powerful engine, and wonderfully exicuted interior design. The 2.7T is possible the best engine I have ever driven. That's a big statement because I have driven a 530i, E320, Saab 9-5, and its predisessor the 100 S.

I bought the A6 with CVT. Audi is completely right in that you don't feel it shifting, but it still feels like an automatic, while getting better gas mileage. The interiors are just incredible. I also own a Lexus RX- 300 and there is no comparison to it. The Audi is far better in quality of materials, and I love the aviation-red controls. Finally, the Bose system is just spectacular.

Test drove: BMW 540 - interior was too small, handling was good but not good enough MB E500 2003 - very nice, but $1000 gas guzzler tax! Infiniti M45 - interior too small even for a mussel car. Lexus 430 - nice but made me feel old (bad idea) Porche C2 - very nice but I am a famliy man and in need of seats in the back that can carry something more than just my tennis racket & gear. Finally, Test drove A6 4.2 Quatro. When I made the right turn going 40 with no breaks and the car did not skit and stuck to the road... That did it for me.

Picked up the A6 2 weeks ago. The car is just flat out fun to drive the Quattro is like glue on wet and dry pavment. Has a Benz ML320- the go anywhere truck that was headache for 3 years The center of gravity is so much lower than any suv, it just is fun to accelerate into turns instead of braking. This is a drivers car in every sense of the word.

Involved in a very serious accident w/ A6 other car lost control, skid into me. (T-bone). Both cars, 50-55 MPH, were "totaled." Two occupants in the other car killed instantly. Wife and I are sore and aching, but no serious injuries. . The A6 crushed exactly as it was desgined. The entire front was demolished with everthing in back of the firewall in as good as new condition. The front doors even open and closed as if there had not been the collision.

When I went shopping for cars this summer, my wife was not enthusiastic. Our old car was fine. It ran, didn't have too many problems, what more could we want? Then she test drove the Audi A6. She immediately fell in love with it as much as I had. It's FAST, it's comfortable, and it looks good. I've heard some people complain that Audis can be unreliable, but I haven't had any problems in the 6 months that I've had this car. The only drawback is that the turbo sucks gas like it's going out of style. It would also be nice if Audi could design some real cup holders. Other than that, both my wife and I LOVE this car.

This is the worst experience i've ever had with a foreign car in my life At 2000 miles rear brake replacement (discs, pads)rear suspention components replaced, steering weel pulling to the left, undercoating leaking on converter making it smoke almost a fire under the car.Rattle, clunking noises from uner the car, rear mostly.Brought the car in for service 4-5 times they took care of brakes suspension undercoating except the clunking noises wich became worse every day, now the car has been in the shop for 32 days

The most fun you can have in a Sedan. I also own a lexus GS300. The Audi is a better car for less money.

My car is a 2001 A6 2.7 turbo, just plain fun to drive. There is plenty of room for those teen of yours or just hauling a pice of lumber, since the back seats fold down. In the winter, no fighting on who sits in the back seat, since the back seats have seat warmers. It handles like a dream on those curvie back roads. My last car was a Lexus which was o.k., this car has far more bells and whistles then most $40k cars. The German quality is curtainly there. You won't realize the good purchase you made until you have owned this car for awhile.

I have owned Mercedes, a BMW and drove several Porsches before deciding on this car and have never had a single regret. The styling is second to none and the performance, especially in sport mode, is tremendous. I feel like I am in my old Cobra again. The engine even has a nice growl to it like it's American counterparts.

I purchased my A6 3 weeks ago, and I LOVE this car!!! Exterior is simple yet luxurious, interior top notch, and it has plenty of power. Its quality matches (if not exceeds) that of BMW or MB, yet it costs thousands less. If you are looking for a midsize luxury sedan, make sure you testdrive the A6. I've heard of some reliability problems, but so far so good :)

Great vehicle; bought it to replace Expedition, and don't miss the big guzzler one bit! Great pick up, plenty of storage, decent economy, and fits in any parking spot. Only room for improvement...some of the functions (cruise, wipers, etc.) are somewhat hidden behind the wheel. Step on the gas, it's a blast.
