I needed a new car following an incident with a deer that totalled my previous one. Mark was great to work with. Understood what I wanted immediately, worked to find the right model and color, was straightforward and clear about price, incentives, financing, etc. Dealt with insurance, etc. seamlessly. Friendly, compassionate, listens and is mindful, knowledgeable about the product he sells (I can't stress this one enough) If ever I have a question or concern about my vehicle and I call or stop by Rick is always there to greet me with a big smile on his face. When I was in a car accident he contacted me to make sure I was ok and that he got a notification that my car was at their collision center and did everything in his power to find a replacement vehicle for my total loss. I first purchased a vehicle from Rick in 2013, when I went back for the 2017 he remembered conversations we had had that I completely for got about. After all those years and customers he proved he listened and is mindful of his customers wants and needs. Product knowledge, this man knows the ins and outs of all the products he sells and if there is a question you have and at the moment he doesn't know the answer he makes it his priority to get you the answer you need.

my car had broken down out of nowhere and I was in desperate need of a new car. With that being said I had no ride to the dealership had previously lost my drivers license. Delonn picked me up from my house took me to the DMV and got me in a brand new 2017 Kia Forte. I inquired about a kia online I immediately got a call from Mrs.Olga I made a appointment and I didn't keep it because I wasn't having any luck with the other dealerships she was very persistent so I finally went to martin pre-owned on a Thursday night in desperate need of a new car i met with mr. Ricky waterman we talked for a little he let me take the car over night when I got home I notice that I left my keys at the dealership. I called mr. Ricky he said he would try to get in contact with someone after a hour of trying he called back with no luck i am a single mother of 2 boys he said to me your gonna have to come to my house with my wife and I i wouldn't be able to sleep knowing you didn't get in safely with those boys then he got a phone call from Mrs. Patty who said she would be right over to open the door for me when I got there she was soaking wet from being in her pool coming from jersey to let me in to get my keys she was very nice to me. Make a long story short these people are honest loving people I don't think i would have gotten that anywhere else on top of that I have horrible credit and was in debt with my old car mr. ricky was able to work a deal out that no other dealerships could I road away with a 2013 Kia Sorento I am so grateful to the dealership they have me as a customer forever and whoever else I can talk to if you feel out of luck and other dealerships turn you down martin is the place and Mr. Ricky Waterman WILL get you in a GOOD car..Thanks again, Keturah

Leased a Kia from Doug Kane. Great guy. Very helpful - he and his manager- can't remember his name- kept calling the bank- getting me the best deal. They worked hard and they earned my business. Then they turned me over to their finance guy- I think he name is Rick? Chinese guy- so great! So friendly! What a head on his shoulders! He knows his stuff- they all do! If anyone is looking to buy or lease a great car go to Martin Kia- they can sell Hondas as well as any other make and mode that is on a Martin lot- I will never buy or lease from anyone ewe. My fiance and i went to Martin Kia on Thursday because we desperately needed a new vehicle. We had already been to a few buy here pay here places and to Sheridan Pre Owned. At the buy here pay heres we only got approved for cars that looked like they would break down in a month, at Sheridan the salesman brushed us off and didn't even want to work with us when he found out what our trafe was and that was all we had to put towards a down payment. So we weren't feeling too hopeful by the time we got to Martin. We were greeted by Dan almost immediately. He asked us what we were looking for and showed us a few cars. He took us for a test drive in a new Soul we liked. Once we did the application we found out we couldn't get approved for a brand new car, but imstead of just shooing us away he walked us over to the preowned lot and showed us some nice cars and said he was going to try his hardest to get us off the lot in a nice reliable car that we loved. It took 6 hours, but by 9pm we were driving off the lot in a 2011 kia optima with the lowest payment and apr than i ever expected! The entire team we worked with was awesome and they didn't speak downt to us at all for not having a large sum for a down payment. Dan worked so hard and didn't try to pressure us into anything or try to fast talk us like normal salesmen try to do. Our whole experience was amazing and I'm recommending them to everyone i know.

I wanted to send an email to you because this weekend I purchased a vehicle at your Martin Kia dealership in Newark. I have to be honest with you; I HATE car buying. I despise it worse than dental surgery. I am 43 years old and have NEVER had a good car buying experience. It was always a wheelin' dealin' type situation where I felt like I was getting the shaft & all kinds of crazy extra things being pushed on me to purchase. Plus, it was always a battle with extra fees being added when I financed & warranties added that I never was even told about. I have purchased brand new & used - all experiences were the same. That is UNTIL I met Mark Grubb. I knew that I wanted to purchase a Kia because of their amazing warranties. I drove up on the lot with my hubby and Mark greeted us. He was very friendly & NOT pushy at all. He was there if we had any questions, but wasn't overwhelming or "in your face". We decided to test drive a Kia Soul. He was very quick with getting the keys and taking us on our way. My hubby drove and Mark was very informative. Telling us all about the car, the features, the amazing Kia warranties. We talked about gas mileage (cause I wanted to trade in my BMW since it was a premium gas guzzler). He was NEVER pushy and I honestly never felt like I was being "sold". It was really like hanging out with a friend who was knowledgeable about the car. I knew that we wanted to buy the car. Then we went in to do the paperwork. That was always the part that I hated the most. He was super quick, efficient, and very clear with us. I didn't feel like there were any hidden fees, or crazy added items to our deal. He even had the finance part being handled as we did paperwork with him; so in the end - all we had to do was sign on the dotted line. The car we test drove had a pretty pin stripe, but the car I picked didn't. Mark made sure that I got a pin stripe on mine too (which I ended up being able to get in my business colors which made me even more happy). I seriously cannot say enough about how amazing Mark Grubb was & how easy & painless our car buying experience was. Nothing like I have ever experienced in my adult life. I would recommend Martin Kia & Mark Grubb to ANYONE AND EVERYONE I know. I just wanted to make sure to take the time and tell you how wonderful everything was. I haven't stopped finding reasons to drive around my new car & show it off to everyone. Best experience ever!

As a family, we just purchased our 7th new car in 4.5 years from Martin Kia. Everyone is always so friendly and family-like, purchasing a car is easy. They've always worked to get to a price we could afford, including my 22 year old son who is living on a part time income. staff helpful and professional for the most part ( except for one man...not sure if the manager or not but a bit rude/high pressure who intervened at one point for laying out the numbers), even when I was famished running around all day car shopping! a young saleslady provided me with a snack while I waited for Rick Rowe Jr. Rick took the time and didn't pressure, really knew the features on every car well and patient to explain as well. He wasn't pushy...offered his telephone number to contact if any questions arise both before and after the sale. Rick doesn't seem to be afraid to work hard and earn his sales. His kind demeanor is an asset especially in this business.

While they sell many cars and have a small amount of reviews in comparison. Most I would think are friends or bribed with free oil changes/gas cards. My experience has been far less than desirable. There seems to be communication issues due to having to many people in the discussion when trying to buy a new car. I have bought 2 cars from them before and had a really good experience. This last one was a worst ever from any deal on a purchase! It took 3 days to make the sale due to misrepresentation and correcting things they put into the deal from both the sales manager finance guy. Look out on the Bumper to Bumper warranty, the Finance guy like to stick this in there as a favor. "I will throw this in for free for the hassle". Even after clarifying I wanted nothing extra more than once. Brad the initial sales guy was awesome and Glenn was a good guy trying to correct the mess afterwards. At the end I got scolded by Rick (Frederico) for calling them out on the lies. He also antagonized me said go ahead and mention it on Social media. So hear it is. He was a real jerky guy.

I tried TrueCar.com, but Martin Kia was the closest and most convenient dealership so I decided to try there as well. Rick was very pleasant to me and my wife, was great to work with, and did not try to force me into a quick decision. After negotiating with several dealerships via TrueCar, I went back to Rick and he was able to provide me the deal I wanted and put my wife in a new Sedona, which she is absolutely loving. After dealing with several dealerships, he proved to be the best in communications, service, and getting me what I needed for the price I could afford. Thank you Rick!

I was under the strong assumption that I was going to have to look out of state to get a good deal on the purchase of my new vehicle. This was going to be my retirement car that I had saved a long time for and I was determined to get the best deal that I could make no matter how long it took and no matter how far I had to go for the best deal. Because this was the closest Kia dealership to me I went there first to test drive the car I had in mind. We didn't make a deal that day, but the salesperson I talked to said that they would beat any price that I could negotiate anywhere else. Long story short, I talked to dealerships in 4 states over the next month. When I had gotten what I believed was the best deal I remembered those words from Martin Kia and contacted them again. Honestly, I didn't think that they would beat that price but to my surprise they did! The salesman, Rick Rowe, Jr. that I dealt with was amazingly easy to talk to and deal with. Not your stereo-typical car salesman. And I mean that in a good way. I would advise anybody who is in the market for a new Kia to ask for Rick by name when you visit this dealership in Newark, DE. I should say that there was one moment when I thought this was going to turn from a dream come true into a nightmare. After getting home from purchasing the car I found a mistake on my purchase order. I had been overcharged and I thought "I should have known it was too good to be true." But after contacting Rick, it turned out to be an honest mistake. I even got a call from the sales manager instructing me to stop by the next day where they not only fixed the mistake, but filled my gas tank for the trouble. I'm now a very happy and satisfied customer. I got the car I wanted, for the best price and only had to drive 20 minutes from my home to make the deal.

I teach world class customer service for a living. So, I'm constantly measuring customer service to my high standards. I can't help critiquing businesses on this topic, and I often leave businesses feeling disappointed and quite frankly with the firm decision of never going back. About a year and 10 months ago, I bought my first new car from Carlton. His service, cheerfulness and ability to satisfy my wants and needs, made me go back to him when I recently thought about getting bigger vehicle. Some of the qualities that I expect to see in a sales representative are: great knowledge about the product and/or service, eye contact, positive but firm tone of voice, confidence, I measure the amount of relevance of the topics being discussed, positive overall body language, etc. I have to say that Carlton and everyone in the Martin Kia dealer met all my expectations.I felt like I was talking to someone with the interest of meeting my needs versus someone pushing me to buy the most expensive vehicle so they can receive a higher commission. Our conversations were all about what I wanted, including keeping my payments under a certain amount.In the past I've never bought a vehicle on my first visit to a dealership but this past Friday (4/17/2015) I felt comfortable enough to leave the dealer with a new vehicle that fulfilled all my wants and all my needs. I am surely not a Martin customer, I am a Carlton customer!

Went into the dealership not knowing what I wanted or what to expect. I went with my parents who thought leasing would be my best option but we had heard some negative things. Meeting with Dan he went over everything and made us feel better about the decision. If I could give a rating of 10 stars I would!Let me begin by stating when I first started my journey, I had a preapproval from another dealership and went there to check it out. From the minute I walked in I felt like I was attacked by a pack of wolves. No one would listen to what I wanted, everyone just wanted to push me into the latest most expensive vehicle. I am 22 years old and was in desperate need of a new car. I went in on a friday around 6pm to do a test drive and possible leasing or financing of a car. They spent three hours that night doing everything possible to get me a good deal and whatever they could to get the lowest price they possibly could. They then suggested a co-signer and it helped a little bit. But not as much as they wanted for me. Plus at this point it was 9pm and nobody was at the banks to process anything in person. So when they opened the following day at 9am. I get a phone call saying they got an approval for me. So I go in find out the price and all that jazz. And to my surprise he got the price lower than what the offers were the day before and I got it with no co-signer needed!!!! I was speechless that they did all this work for and got me an approval with no-cosigner needed, and I got a brand new 2014 Kia Soul. So needless to say, the next car that I get will definitely be from Martin Kia! Awesome customer service!!!!

I went to the Martin Kia and Mazda to look at KIAS and MAZDAS. My sales consultant was DAN CARLTON. Dan is the man! Everyone here is friendly, but Dan was helping me and my family today. He was not pushy and trying to to push me into the most expensive thing on the lot, his method is almost scientific which I could appreciate. He allowed me to look around the lot at the cars and let me decide what I wanted to buy or not buy. He even suggested less expensive alternatives. We started at the bottom with a car that I wasn't particularly in love with, but Dan wanted me to try it out, so I (emphasis on the word, "I") could truly rule it out, which I did. I finally settled on a car that I wanted and he even allowed me to consider the modifications that I wanted to make to the vehicle to make the vehicle mine. This was important to me, since I'd been looking at cars for awhile and was not planning to lease but to buy, I wanted to be able to love the car for many many years to come (my previous car a VW Jetta, may her soul rest in peace was with me for more than 10 years and 245,000 miles...so I wanted that type of peace of mind when purchasing my next car). We test drove two cars. Dan was very candid about both cars, asking me what was it I liked or disliked about them to be able to adequately present me with options that would best fit my preferences. I walked out of Martin's with a new car (2015 model), isn't that something?! Dan is the man!

After buying my first car from Ferderico I will come back to this dealership and him for every future purchase. I didn't think it was possible for a 19 year old college kid to buy a car on her own but he got me a great price and was very patient in helping me understand the loan. It was a great experience overall and I highly recommend Main Kia and Federico Rowe!!

I have given this dealership a rating of 5 in each category because they did an amazing job while I was there. Rick was a great salesman. He knew every answer to every question that I asked him. He was very approachable and friendly. I felt comfortable test driving the cars with him because he could tell me what kind of little details each car had. I was not exactly sure what I was looking for but as soon as Rick showed me the first car, a Kia Sorento, I immediately knew that car was going to be mine. He took the time to show me every dial, button, and feature that this car had to offer. He compared it to some of the other choices I had in mind and told me the major differences between the cars. Every staff member that I encountered there was friendly and more then willing to help with whatever I needed. I will definitely be going back when I need to by another car and have already recommended friends and family to go there. They accommdated my budget and made sure that I was leaving with the best car possible for me. Overall, Rick and his fellow employees were awesome!

Darren was our sales representative. He was well versed on the vehicle we were interested in. He did an excellent job of working out the details on price and when we picked up the vehicle he was very thorough in explaining all the features on our new vehicle.
